I liked many of MJ's songs. From the Jackson 5 to the Thriller age.

But this one is at the top of my list...

Gone too soon, written for Ryan White.

When others shunned this boy, Michael was there by his side.

I'm going to have to say ABC by the Jackson Five. There's just such a pure and simple joy to that song.

Second would have to be a tie between Billie Jean and Beat It

Rob, you and I have very similar tastes (in some areas anyway:rolleyes1).

I would say ABC followed by Billie Jean, , Girl is Mine with Paul McCartney and They Don't Care About Us.

For DS it is Thriller and Rockin' Robin.

Like all of you, there are many. The top of the list would be, "Boogie Fever, PYT, Thriller & Human Nature ;)

Wow. Thanks for posting that. I have never seen nor heard it before and Iam now sitting here bawling my eyes out:sad1: It is beautifully done.

ETA: This is only sort of on topic so I hope it is okay to post it in here (nothing on this board ever stays on topic anyway!). DS10 and I have found that German MTV is playing the Top 40 MJ videos today leading up to the memorial. We came into it at 26. DS has been an MJ fan for some years but knows primarily old Jackson 5 music and the songs/videos from Off the Wall and Thriller. Watching these videos with him is sort of like taking someone to WDW for the first time and seeing it through their eyes. Seeing and hearing the full range today he is struck by and commenting on two things:
1. The dancing. DS is a dancer--it is one of the reasons he loves MJs stuff. He can't get over how MUCH dancing is highlighted in a number of videos.
2. The messages. Just wathcing MJ today I have had to try to explain about Ryan White, African Famines, Ghandi, etc. DS says it is so neat he cared so much and wanted everyone else to care too--not just with one song but lots and lots of songs.

Well Thriller is an obvious favorite, but runner up would probably be Beat It, followed by PYT.

I can't palce Candy Girl at the moment. I will have to find it on youtube after teh service.

DD sees me posting on the thread and wants me to say her favs are:
Human Nature
and
I'll Be There.

I like seeing what everyone likes. Reminds me of songs I haven't thought about in years.

I never really gave Michael a second thought, he has always just been there from the time I could remember....

But after watching the service today, I hope he is remembered for this song, forever!

Heal the World... :grouphug:

PYT and HEAL THE WORLD are my two favorites.

Whenever I hear either, I have two very different reactions. The first makes me want to dance! dance! dance! and the second makes me want to go out and do something positive.

He was a GREAT artist and his music will be with us FOREVER!

As much as I love the "Thriller" album, some of my favs are not on it--"Scream", "Black or White" and "Smooth Criminal".

Off the Wall - Never heard anything like it at the time and I still love it.

Man In The Mirror - It makes me very introspective and more interested in chaning myself for the better everytime I hear it.

Smooth criminal is one of my favorites. When certain songs get constantly replayed, they lose their luster i.e. Billie Jean, etc...

For those of you too young to remember Captain EO, there was a time when people waited over an hour to watch what was basically a Michael Jackson video at Disney World and Land! Granted this version is not in 3-D, but it is a fun watch, and a great walk down memory lane!

"The Music & Me". Not one of his most famous/popular songs, but such a pretty song. :sad1:

Thanks for the link. It is labled on that youtbue clip as Jackson 5--but I am pretty sure Wallyb is correct (and that is why I couldn't place it as a Jackson song;)). It has a very Jackson 5ish sound and samples their ABC but it is New Edition. I even did a bit of googling to try to confirm. It is a fun song though:goodvibes
