We have three daughters - two of which (ages 10 and 13) who will want to carry their own KTTW cards on our furst cruise in January. Do most kids carry their cards on a lanyard? Should I wait to buy the DCL ones when we board or is it "cool" enough to have one from home? Any great tips on making our own?

Any advice from other parents or kids would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

tammy

Hi. Tammy!
We got a couple on eBay & bought a couple on the ship. Also, one of the kids in our group made his own because he likes to make lanyards. There was a cool one in the shops that was waterproof that I got to hold credit cards as well on the islands. We took a hole punch with us and attached them that way. The kids could easily wear them and also use them as room keys at the same time. :D

We did the hole punch thing.. worked fine for the kids! Unless the kids are into the "pins," just thin ones will work fine. The girls each picked out nylon neon ones that we found at a sporting store (I think they are actually made for whistles). Then at the Disney store, they each picked out a little "plush" pooh or mickey keychain that they attached to the lanyard along with their key card :)

My son met a friend on the ship, who had a KTTW holder that he bought on board. It has a open top, to slide your key into. His fell out, and he lost it. Luckily, another child found it, and returned it to guest services. We bought clear plastic fishing lic. holders from Wal-Mart. They had zip lock closures at the top. Then, we went over by the sunglasses and key chains, and bought lanyards. This worked great! I even wore mine in the pool and hot tub. Even DD7 did not loose her KTTW!
Have a great trip!
