Hi,

We are thinking of going to Disneyland Paris next summer. This will be our first trip to Disneyland Paris so we are newbies. What would be the best time to go, July or August? Which would be less crowded? Thank you.

July and August are busy months but the parks stay open till late so you can have a break in the middle of the day and go back to the parks...

Not sure which is better ie less busy, July or August but maybe going monday-thursday will be better than going on a weekend. :)

Apart from one time we've always gone in July, last year we overlapped a few days into August and really noticed the difference with the crowds. But with the parks open til late you have plenty of time to do all the things you want to particularly if you aim to be in the parks first thing.

Diane- and what did you notice about August that it is even busier than July? Thanks.

UK schools finish up typically at end of July, which seems to make August a favourite with people. We have gone in early July before the school split as our kids finish in June and on weekday it is very managable.:thumbsup2

i noticed that the prices drop considerably the last week of august so do that mean its less crowded?

the difference in my accommodation price at touquin was £400

Sorry I wasn't very clear at all was I!!!!
Yes we noticed that the parks were far busier in August than in July, last year we travelled on my birthday (July 30th) and came back on August 8th, the increase in crowds from the last time we were there was very noticeable. There was even a half hour queue to walk around Alice's Curious Labyrinth and we've never seen that before!

Thank you so much for your replies. It looks like July may be less crowded. Unfortunately my DH just informed me that July may be hard to get off but we will see. I will definately avoid the weekends. I am going to have tons of questions and know this is the place for the answers.:)

caretaker - the french kids (and most of europe) go back around 2nd Sept (so that week). We are going on 30th August and are hoping that as a result of that, it won't be too busy. As you rightly point out, 30th August the price does drop a fair bit - probably as a result of this.

One thing to point out though, which shocked me, was that come Monday 31st Aug, the parks shut at 7 pm week nights. We had been told it would be 8pm but it's confirmed as 7 pm - again probably due to children being back at school. Fantillusion & fireworks all finish on 30th too.

My DD1 starts school this Sept but doesn't actually start until pm on 8th Sept so that is why we are going that week - I'll be super organised (ha) and have everything ready before we go, plus we come back on Thurs 3rd Sept so I have a long weekend to sort any last min bits out :goodvibes

Sorry to interrupt post if I am, but when people talk about the crowds at Disneyland Paris:

How does it compare to a summer busy time at Disneyland California and Walt Disney World?

Same sort of thing, or even busier than American parks? Thanks.

I think it is probably similar to WDW.

Christmas crowds seem much worse but I think thats because its cold so more people are trying to get indoors and the parks are open less. However the summer crowds are much more bearable as you can take time away from the parks in the middle of the day
