I get back from my lunch break at work, and there in my email box is an email from Disney Destinations!
So, I open it AND..
It's an email that says your July Disney HELLO! is here!
WHAT?? I know about the upcoming events; you don't need to tell me! And, don't send me a HELLO! email if it's not going to have a PIN!
I'm so disappointed.
Did anyone else get this? (And, we have multiple email adresses registered; it only came to one of them.)

I haven't gotten it yet, but thanks for warning me. I would've jumped out of my chair thinking it was a pin only to be disappointed (as I am sure you were--sorry you didn't have fair warning).

Yup, that was me! We got it in different emails we have registered! I was very disappointed but at least I know we are in the system! Now for a FD pin!

Thanks for the warning. I went to my inbox this evening and guess what...an email from Disney Destinations. I thought, "Yeah a discount from Disney", then I remembered what you wrote, and did not get my hopes up. Yep, a July hello.
Oh, well. Maybe another day I'll get some:wizard:

I got an email from Disney Destinations too, and in my account I can see the first few words of the email before I actually open the email. I got all excited because it said something like, "Because of your recent visit to our site...vacation...planning..." I was super stoked. I opened it up, and it was a link to free customized stationary. (Basically you put your name on this colored background and print it from your computer). Totally lame to me. BOOooooOOO! It got me way too excited and way too disappointed!

I got that "gift" after my last trip too.
At the beginning of each month you get this form letter from Disney Destinations if you are signed up with them. I got fooled this time; because, I was so hoping it was the one.
We have to hope a general discount code will come.

I have never received an email each month from Disney Destinations. Ever! My email is registered at disney, it is attached to my reservation, but I have yet to receive any communication, even a basic "hey hello july"

What I don't understand is A.) I've been registered for months, and it looks like other people have been getting this before. Why am I just now receiving it? B.) Also, why did it only go to two of our email addresses that we have registered? I checked the multiple accounts we have registered with the site (in hopes of a PIN) last night, and only 2 out of all of them received the HELLO! email.
I don't think the Disney Destinations computer system makes any sense; they need to update the thing. You'd think a newsletter like that would go out to EVERYONE.

I fell for it too- especially when I saw Free Dining on the side. :mad:

I got it too, but also received a 40% PIN on 6/4/09 for our upcoming trip in December.:cool1:
Make sure to add this address to your e-mail list: vacation@registration.disneyworld.com (Disney Destinations; one of many)

Our DSL connection was down for almost a day. It was pure agony not being able to check my email. It started working around noon today and we got the same email. Why can't we get one for Nov/Dec??? Please Pin Code Fairy make our Turkey trip a free dining one.

I just got an email from Disney Destinations about a new video tool on the WDW site. Thanks to this thread, I only got my hopes up a little bit...

Like a pp mentioned.....I also get this email once a month. I've been getting them for quite some time now so now I know not to expect any PIN code as it's just an informational email :confused:. But both DH & I have received the free dining pin for Oct/Nov/Dec and I just received a 40% birthday pin code :)......but before we got these email pins, we never received any pin codes during the last 8 years we've been going to Disney :sad2:.

Log in at disney.com and click update profile. There are 2 boxes you can check or uncheck depending on if you want email from Disney or not. This is what it says next to each checkbox;
I'd like to receive occasional updates, special offers, and other information from The Walt Disney family of companies about their products and services.
.. Disney Insider - Get all the latest Disney news with this special newsletter delivered to your inbox every week. ..
So if you don't want to receive the Disney Hello uncheck the box or check it if you're not getting it and you want it.

I don't think any of us are saying we don't want it, we're just saying that it was random and were disappointed it wasn't a PIN. I've been a member on the Disney Destinations site for years and never received this email. Like I said above, too, only 2 members of our family received it. Over 10 of us are registered. (And yes, they have the option checked to receive things; we all get Disney Insider). The whole system just doesn't make sense.

I didn't say anyone said they don't want it, but now that you mention it, this is from your original post;
"WHAT?? I know about the upcoming events; you don't need to tell me! And, don't send me a HELLO! email if it's not going to have a PIN!"
The part I bolded makes it look like you don't want to receive the HELLO! email. The HELLO email will never have a PIN. They send those emails out separately.
I was offering the information on how to opt in or out of Disney emails to anyone who wasn't sure why they are or aren't getting them. It wasn't directed at you. It was just an FYI, don't take it personally.

Well great, I got the email for the new Video tool, thought it was cool, now I know the Disney Destinations name in my "sender' column is something to occasionally get excited about. LOL I think I liked my blissful ignorance in opening it. Now I'll be looking for it every time I open email
(to the poster who had no DSL for a day or so, good god, how did you do it? I would die without my internet, it's my connection to the outside world.)

The part from my original post that you bolded was sarcasm. Again, we're all just pointing out the the Disney Destinations system is flawed; the newsletters should at least go out to everyone (which, obviously they don't, even if you are registered to receive them). That's why many of us got our hopes up seeing that email.

Sarcasm doesn't come across so well via posts. I too would have assumed you wanted to be off this email list based on the previous (bolded) post.
