Welcome Team to the New thread for the month of July! I love this month! I have a movie quote for everyone. (That is something that we haven't done in a while.)

I will be singing a song of freedom, for all men who want to be free. Free to sail the seven seas. Free to worship as we please. Free to be who we want to be.

Any ideas? Let me know if you think you have the answer.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.:rotfl2::confused3 We have started off the year literally with a BANG! Everyone has been doing a fantastic job all year long. Just remember that it isn't always the quantity of how many miles that you do. It's more important about the quality. Just keep moving! That is more than most.

So let's get out there and have a GREAT month! Let's celebrate our Nation's birthday, our freedoms, our time with family and friends but let us also celebrate our personal accomplishments too. Everyone of you are AWESOME!!!! Keep it up and have a terrific month!

Let's go team!!

Hi Triple Ds, how y'all doing?

This is a good time to remember that our real strength comes from within. There is more to each and every one of us than we can possibly imagine.

Inner Strength. Inner Peace. Inner Beauty. We all have trademarks that a lot of the world doesn't see or don't want to recognize. Most people are "surface" people. They look only at the outside of a person. We know that there are a lot more attributes to people than just the way they look on the outside. Get to know someone. Understand a little about what they think and feel before passing judgment. You can find life-long friends before or without ever seeing them in person. So far, I have done that a lot right here on WISH!!

Thanks Panda!

happy 4th of july everyone!!!!!!!!

Hey Mickey
07-06-2009, 09:32 AM
Hi, ducks! Happy july --hope everyone had a good 4th! I just got back from my spontaneous post-school road trip with my sons -- took in D.C., St. Augustine, Charleston, even stopped at South of the Border! And of course, capped off with several days at WDW! Thanks for the thumbs up on POFQ -- we really liked it and am now considering staying there in January if its available. Anyhow, lots of fun but not a lot of training. But the weather here is absolutely glorious (nice change from the nonstop rain we had in June), and with only 6 months till the Goofy, I am planning on getting some serious miles in.

Hope everfyone else is doing better then me. And a special :grouphug: for Bryan -- hope everythign works out as smoothly as possible. It is never an easy decision or process.

Hello 3D's! I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday weekend. I am glad the weather finally cooperated here. Though today I got caught in the rain going home.

My mileage for the past week was just biking, and was 220 miles and the time was 14 hours.

Erica, did you know that Railroad Earth will be coming to NYC in October to play at the Nokia? I hope to see you there:)

Have a great week, everyone!

Hi, gang...

I know...same song, another verse...my travel schedule is wearing on me!
Then I had a friend come into town, so didn't do any workouts while entertaining her. ugh.

so, I hiked a couple of hours after work one day, and ran one workout earlier this week.
Total 7.8 miles/3.1 hours

Needing some motivation..and for the weather to break a little here in TX. It is so darn hot! Even the outdoor pool last night prob had a water temp in the upper 80s. ugh. At least next week I'll be back in the Pac NW for a bike trip!

(so I will update the spreadsheet late next week---later than usual, that is!):goodvibes

thanks for your patience with me!

We have covered over 12000 miles!! That rocks!!

and..if anyone knows where some of our missing people are....pm me or something. hopefully they'll start posting again when it gets closer to marathon training?

Ryley...will definitely take you up on that drink. :thumbsup2

Hello there Triple D's!!! Looks like we have some missing Ducks! Quack! Quack! (Doing my duck call to get them back! haha) Wait a minute! I have been one of those lost ducks!! :rotfl: I am talking about myself! (Ooopps! Shouldn't have admitted that!)

This week was a bit better for me in the miles department. Yay! I broke 3 digits again!!!:banana::cool1:I'm sooo happy. Just wish I could get back to where I was last year but that's ok. I am pretty satisfied with the results that I am getting right now so I will keep it up. So here are my totals.

Miles - 110
Hours - 13.75

I have a couple of 5ks coming up and then I am trying to figure out what race will be next. I am VERY eager to make sure that I am at Disney in January but with the situation here at home, it is still up in the air whether or not I will be able to. That makes me sick thinking that I may not be able to make it. I am still trying but I just don't know yet. Hopefully, if I am supposed to be there, it will happen. If not, I will cheer on all of my teammates and friends from a distance and will be there the following year but I am not giving up total hope yet.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I know I will as I am on VACATION!!! YAY! First time I have had more than 2 days off in a row since I was at WDW in January to run. I need this.

I"m back Too :thumbsup2 Izonz...We don't need AC up here on Cape Cod . I love this summer !! Cool and rainy, perfect for the overheating runner so come on up.
I have not reported since June 28th. I am starting to kick up my long runs for the fall. I am thinking about running the Marshall University Marathon on Nov 1 in WV, has any one done this one ?? love to get some info on it. I have been looking for a flat fast course and marathon guide states this one as a "friendly time". Here is my info.
Running: 43 miles 6.5 hours
Ice Hockey: 3 hours

By the way..I'll be happy to buy my round at WDW !! & Bryan, if I was in your place I would HAVE to run Disney to take my mind of things. Good Luck

Thanks SamSam!! I'm having a great day, and heading out shortly for a special dinner with my husband.

As for my training in July: I did do one short run in London, but I think all the walking I was doing in inadequate shoes created a few problems for me since my back felt awful. So I changed shoes and skipped running in Paris. I did my first post-vacation run today, and it went really well, so I think I'm back on track.

Miles and minutes:
Miles - 6.5
Minutes - 90

I will be heading to Maine on Saturday, but will have internet there so I'll be in touch. It's a relaxing vacation, so should have plenty of time for training (it's also an awesome place to run!).

I'm thinking of you Bryan, and hope that you are doing the best you can under the circumstances.

Hello 3D's!, Happy Tuesday! Halfway thru the month, almost, and still no 90 degree days here yet.

Happy Birthday, Kira.

Here is my miles and time for the week of the 8th to the 14th, 11 hours, 15 minutes, and 190 miles. All biking, but I have to do some running soon, there is a 5K race coming up soon, and I would like to do a bit of running before I do it.

Has anyone seen the band Galactica? I just saw them for the first time last Saturday, and they were amazing! The beer helped too......

Have a good week, everyone!

Hey Triple D's! It looks like we are having yet another great week of training. Awesome job everyone. Ahoff Seriously dude! 190 miles!!! That makes my backside hurt just thinking about it.:rotfl: That's incredible.

Kira Thank you for the thoughts. I am glad that you have had a great birthday and some good vacation trips. I am jealous. I want to go somewhere.

As for me, another fun week at home and work. Still got some quality training in but not as much as I would like. Good news is that the manager said today that it looks like that I am adding more muscle to my frame and loosing more bodyfat. I am going to give it just a little more time and then I am going to have my levels checked again. I have a personal goal of gettting down to single digits at least once. That will make me very happy.

Totals for this week:

Miles - 90
Hours - 11.75

Tomorrow is Wednesday! HUMP day is here! YAY!! Wait. I am on vacation. BOO!! That means it is getting closer to me to have to go back to work. Waaaahh! Seriously though, I do hope that everyone has a great week. Kira, have a safe trip!

Hi, gang!!

Well, I am back from one vacation and heading out on another, followed by a work trip. I am starting to wonder why I even have a house, I'm on the road so much!
:rolleyes1

Everyone is doing great!

Augie....just be happy with your weather. It has hit 100 or more over 30 days so far this year here in central TX. :cool2: The good thing is, I'm travelling a lot and don't get too exposed to the heat. But the bad thing is, I am not acclimated at all, so my workouts at home are suffering.

Dave...here is the link to the spreadsheet--maybe try again? You should be able to view it, but not post to it. (yeah, I'm a control freak). It's not a pretty spreadsheet, but it's there. If you want a colored stripe for your listing, let me know what color. :goodvibes

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AhkQlDatUiUqcHk4X1UxVHMxZnFBb2xUM3F4elFmS 0E&hl=en

As for me...just got back from a beautiful bike trip in Oregon...we rode from outside of Ashland to Klamath Falls; from there to Crater Lake; rode the Rim Road around the Lake; then rode from Crescent to Bend. Total riding 224 miles, with over 15,000 feet of climbing. That's more than I've been on the bike any given month this year, I think!

Since the trip crossed our reporting weeks, this is what I have:

July 8-14:
swim 2 miles/2:00
bike: 145.4 miles/12:15 (don't work out the averages...I'm slow on the uphills!)
hike: 2.2 miles/:45

Total: 149.6 miles/ 15 hours

July 15--21:
bike: 78.7 miles/ 5:35 hours
run: 3.3 miles/ 1:25 hours

total: 85 miles/ 7 hours

Hope everyone is staying cool, and maybe thinking about racing season coming up! Time to start building and training!:thumbsup2

What happened to the time? I can't believe that I am so far behind on my posting. I am sorry Betsy!! Very sorry! This week has been crazy since going back to work. We had one associate quit and one got fired for stealing. This, of course, added to my stress levels for the week but that is ok. It also gave me a reason to focus on time at the gym to help release that stress. (I love my workouts!) So here are my totals.

Miles - 85
Time - 12.25 (I cut the yard for 6 hours more for a friend of mine that needed some help. Don't know if you want to add the time or not. Either way, it's ok.)

It looks like everyone has been having another great week. I can't believe it is already the last week of the month. We are almost to August. What has happened to the year? Seems like it is flying by!! Next thing we know, everyone will descend to WDW for Marathon Weekend. This is just crazy.

Well, I hope everyone has a fantastic week. Look forward to hearing how everyone did for the month.

Have a GREAT weekend everyone!

ran my longest run yet of 7.5 miles yesterday in the gross heat and humidity over here in the northeast. probably not the smartest thing to do but I finished. definitely was slightly nauseus afterwards but it went away after I ate some crackers and cheese. my friend that ran with me got really sick after, i'm thinking it was slight heat stroke. we also ran much slower than normal but i'll accept it! :)

Hey guys!

I am still up in Maine where it has been cold, foggy and rainy most of the time. Great running weather, but not what I hoped for in a July vacation! My family and I have been very active up here. I have taken on doing something active each day, whether it is a run, a hike, a bike ride or just walking to town. I feel great, and I am going to try to take this into my non-vacation life as well!

So I am really proud of my hours and minutes - this is for two weeks from July 14-28:

Miles (running) - 14.1
Minutes (running) - 181

Miles (other) - 7.75
Minutes (other) - 220

Total miles - 21.85
Total minutes - 21.85

I'm glad to see that everyone is doing well, and I look forward to being more active on the boards when I get back next week.

I have a fuel belt that I use anytime I go more than 4 miles when it's hot and humid. Sometimes I carry a bottle of water on shorter wogs, but I find it annoying; I should just use the fuel belt all the time.

Edited to add my mileage/time for week ending 7/28/09:

Dave, that sounds like a cool race with a Dead band playing. Yesterday was Jerry's birthday, and I went to a Jerry Party here. Four bands all playing Dead tunes, free beer with admission, and the weather was great. Have fun at the Brew Run, I myself will be at a Beer Fest next Saturday.

Here are my hours for the remainder of July, the 22nd thru the 31st. 17 hours biking and 275 miles, and I did a race which was 3.5 miles, so add 7 miles for that. The time was 26:45.

Have a great week!

Hello duckies back from Yellowstone and the Tetons. It was amazing never seen anything like it. If you like to hike and be inspired this is the place.

Betsy there were so many bikers in the Parks I was amazed. The change in altitude and narrow rode I'm suprised people aren't hit.

We've been to Yellowstone 3 different times over the years and loved it. We took our bikes one time (15 years ago) and enjoyed doing a little riding first thing in the morning before the traffic picked up. Very fun experience, we rode by a bison that was so close to the road that we could have reached out and touched it.:rotfl:Luckily it wasn't interested in us. All those years ago, I don't think we saw a single other cyclist!
