View Full Version : Buying fastpasses on eBay...

I heard about getting old entry tickets to use as extra fastpasses at the park, and so I looked it up on eBay, and there's quite a few 'unlimited fastpasses' for sale, which are essentially just normal fastpasses, you still have to wait two hours and all that jazz before getting another one. I don't think I've explained it very well, I'd post the link but I'm not sure if it's 'illegal advertising'
So anyway, I'm willing to take the risk with legitimacy, because it's only a tenner to buy them, but I was wondering if it's really worth it to get more fastpasses, and also if anyone else had managed to use them successfully, or wouldn't reccommend them because of whatever reason.
Sorry if I haven't explained this properly, it's rather late at night, haha.
Thanks :)

Quite a few people on here have bought the FPs off Ebay including us.

They are worth it if you are going at a busy time as it gives you chance to either get 2 FPs for the same ride at the same time and ride it twice in a row (we do this with BTM) or get FPs for 2 different rides without having to wait the 2 hours.

We've got some and used them last July and then lent them to our friends to use at Christmas. We intend using them again this summer. :thumbsup2

I bought 8 fastpasses for our trip last weekend and we were so glad to have them, the parks were crowded and it was so hot that standing in line for more than 30 minutes wasn“t an option for us. We collected 2 fastpasses for BTM, 2 for Buzz and one for Indy, otherwise we never would have managed to ride them that often, I am planning to take them on every trip now just in case:thumbsup2

Hiya

Can someone explain to me how these fastpasses work?

I understand you use your part entrance ticket to obtain them, but really unsure what these ones on ebay are and how they work. Would love to get 5 or 10 though if they save us ltos of time. do they just work like entrance tickets then? so for example I could use 4 fastpasses and my entrance ticket to get 5 passes for the same ride? :)

Also, anyone had experience of buying them from people from France?

I heard if caught with these you can get taken off the premises, what if your staying at a Disney hotel can they stop you for the duration of your holiday? :confused3

Its unlikely that you'd get chance to do the same ride 5 times in a row as the FPs have a 30 minute slot so you can usually ride it twice during that time - at a push 3 times. However you could have passes for different rides with 5 passes

Eeep, I hope it's allowed...
I just bought 10 :)
If not, I suppose I'll just have to not use them near CM's...
I'm abit dubious of if they're even going to work, since the guy had 188 lots of 10 fastpasses, but it's only £8.99, so if they don't work then nevermind :)

Is using these 'ebay' fastpasses legal or ok with Disney.
It all seems a little odd.
I want to buy some but not at the risk of been thrown out of the park as someone said you could!

It is unsure how these FPs end up on Ebay - especially in large quantities.

However they are sometimes given out by CMS - if you normal park ticket doesnt work in the FP machine, occasionally if there has been a problem on a ride (although this doesnt seem to happen as often now), if you have print at home tickets which you cant put into a FP machine.

We were going through the gates one day and there was a huge pile of them on the turn stile. There was no CM next to that gate so it would have been very easy to pinch the lot if you werent honest (which of course we all are on here )

So if you were questioned about having the FP I cant see how they would know if it had been given to you genuinely by another CM or not

Has anyone ever tried putting used Buffalo Bill tickets in a fastpass machine. I've heard that works.:confused3

You dont get tickets for Buffalo Bills do you? Are they not vouchers?

Old park tickets definately work - we used them this week and they were from 2004.

I bought four for our trip in May and it made "life" at DLRP much easier. The only issue I had was that one of the tickets didnt work on the BTM machines but on all other rides it was fine.

I bought some last yr that I've hung on to. We didn't use them though - only used one of the DLH fastpasses too as it was quite quiet so often FP queues weren't even open.

I'm concerned about using ebay FPs and also old tickets in case they get stuck in the machine and the CM has to come and get it out  I recall my park ticket (which was in my jeans pocket) keep getting stuck in the entrance barriers :rolleyes1 A CM at the Studios wasn't v happy with me about my holding up his queue but I must have looked shocked or upset as he gave me a few free FPs :confused3 :lmao:

Aren't those things non-transferable? Would the resell or use of these not be cheating the system?

Means much longer waits for those people who aren't prepared to this...no?

IMO in theory yes, but in practice no. We only go at very busy times and haven't bought any (as I'm too mean to line the pockets of someone cashing in on this :rotfl: ).
We always manage to get fastpasses for BTM and TOT and find it's still possible to collect these late afternoon for the evening ~ this was impossible under the old DLRP fastpass system where you could hold one fastpass for each ride at the same time and consequently all fastpasses had often run out by lunchtime.

Aren't those things non-transferable? Would the resell or use of these not be cheating the system? There seem to be so many of these fastpasses around that they must come from either guests pinching them or CMs moonlighting. DLRP can't be that bothered about what's going on because they don't seem to be doing anything about it and you can't tell me they don't know it's going on.

I guess it's all down to the individual and their conscience. ;)

I guess if it was really a problem DLRP could implement a FP system like at WDW where only a ticket that has gone through the entrance turnstile that day can get a FP.

But from what I've seen FP lines seem great at DLRP, so I can't see it happening.

They must know what goes on!

I guess I am just fussy about things like this! I would feel really bad!

I actually think that's a really good idea and I think it should be the standard policy across all Disney parks.

Having said that - DLP isn't quite as bad for "secret loop holes" in the fastpass system as Disneyland California is. Not all the fastpass machines are connected to each other there, so if you know which ones are seperate then you can hold 2 or 3 fastpasses at once. The problem with that is that the unconnected ones aren't advertised (but never change) so people who know about them can get a big advantage...

I bought 6 Fastpasses off Ebay, from 2 different sellers, and all worked OK for me last week (I tried them all just out of interest).

But as it turned out, I didn't really need any extra fastpass tickets - my son (who is only 5) wimped out of most of the rides they would have been used on, so we didn't use them. (Little tip - don't take toddlers on POTC as their first ride, it freaks them out for the rest of the trip for any other 'dark' ride!)

But at least I have them for when we go back again.

You do get tickets but when we went we booked BB at disney & got a Buffalo Bills ticket, yet there was big group in front of us who had what looked like normal park tickets that they used. So I think they booked in advance & got those which may work in the machines. Not sure if the proper Buffalo Bill ones will.

I booked BBWWS when I got to the hotel through the concierge, and got tickets similar to the park entry tickets from there. I have kept the tickets, so will maybe try them in the fastpass machines next time to see if the rumour is true!

They definitely know that it is going on as I direct security to the listings. I'm with Elaine on this and refuse to line the pockets of someone who has either received them fraudulently or abusing their position. Hopefully they will build a case to shutdown the guests/cast members who are doing this :rolleyes1

That would be good to see. It seems to go against the whole ethos of Disney.
