Over the past two weeks, my fiance and I have ditched the idea of staying at the CR under SoG, and have been flip flopping between staying at the Poly or at the Swan or Dolphin for our honeymoon next May...Does anyone have any recommendations about which would be more romantic, more relaxing, beautiful i guess...i've never stayed at either before, and we are so confused about which to pick....augh!! :)

I don't think there is any question that the Polynesian is the better choice. They were the #1 honeymoon destination since last summer out of all the WDW resorts (per Disney records). We spent our honeymoon there last July. See what they did for us on our honeymoon.

Just remember Swan/Dolphin are not Disney owned and may not do the little extras that Disney employees seem to do. I might think the Poly would just be the resort of choice. I have read so many posts from newlyweds that have been upgraded to castle views. My husband and I spend one day on our last trip and went resort hopping. We have a condo on Waikiki beach---but let me tell you the Poly made us feel like we were home!!!! Have you checked out the Grand Flordian? On our resort hopping we found this resort to be so "GRAND" guess the name fits.

Wow, love the pics Tikiman!! Thanks so much for the info, both of you..I definetetly know that we are trying to go for the "disney magic"...so it looks like so far that the poly is the place to go then...I was browsing the boards, and it looks to be great. WOW! Thanks so much!

We have stayed at both & would definetly choose the Poly. For us there was far less magic at the Swan/Dolphin. Although the pool at the Swan/Dolphin is beautiful and very romantic (less kids) much bigger.

Well if your choice is poly or s/d, sounds like you will be having a great honeymoon! The poly would be the ultimate! But if finances are a factor, S/D maybe a better deal! (considering you could use sog) maybe you would qualify for the "government rate" they are even available on some suites! I would read as much as possible about all the resorts you are interested in and then make a choice. You could even split them if your interested! MKY;)

Just another 2cents. I agree with mkymouse4ever. If $$ are a serious consideration, then the S/D would be a lovely place to honeymoon.

I would pick depending on which parks you plan on visiting since one is a MK resort and the other is an Epcot resort. If staying at the Poly, it's so much fun to hop the monorail each morning to the MK. But if Epcot is more to your liking, especially the World Showcase, it would be so neat to be able to walk in and out of the park as if it were in your own backyard. :) My DH and I chose the YC just for this reason - we love the idea of being able to walk in & grab a pastry from France and bring it back to our balcony to enjoy :) Plus there's Crescent Lake as a romantic stroll in the evening. As much as I LOVE the Poly and think it gorgeous & romantic, the Epcot resort area is much more suited to vacationing at Disney without kids. I've never stayed at either the Swan or Dolphin, but I've heard the views from these hotels are spectacular.

It should be noted that one of the best things about the Poly is that it convenient to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot. To get to Epcot you just need to walk over to the Ticket Center (less than 5 minutes) and catch the monorail. We found that to be very convenient. Also the Poly is very beautiful and relaxing. We loved it.

Thanks for the tips everyone!! The idea of walking right into Epcot sounds SO appealing!! Maybe we will have to split the trip between two resorts....oh, its too hard to decide..i guess we are JUST going to have to go back..darn the luck!! hahaha..when you hop on the monorail from the TTC, how long does it take to get to epcot? is it as convienent as it is to get to MK?

Like I said it is a 5 minute walk to the TTC from the Poly (depending where your room is). The monorail ride is about 10 minutes. Depending on your wiat for the monorail, it could be a total of 20 minutes. It really is very convenient.
