Hello Team!!!
It's July! Can you believe it???? I can't. We are getting closer and closer to marathon weekend. That means we are all training harder and harder, right??
Let's get those numbers in!
576.49 miles AND 259:46 hours!

I took my walking group for a good hard 8 miler along the river trails at about a 12:00 to 12:30 mpm pace. It was a very strong walk and we keep the pace going the whole time. Decided to do the river trails today, it was warm but a breeze and plenty of shade. Very good workout.
I'm going to be ready to race on the 11th. Looking for some PRs this year.
I see that all the car manufactors are dropping the rebates in preperation of people trading on this cash for clunkers. It's a boon for the car dealers because with no rebates they are getting sticker for the cars since the government money goes to the dealer. What a deal for them.
Connie thank you for starting the new thread dear.
Scott get home safe.
Have an awesome day everyone.

Good Morning Team!
Got out for another 3 miles this morning, I was tired, and it was really hard to get motivated today. I will do my leg weight routine later today.
Where did June go:confused3 I can't believe that it is already July! I really have to start adding milage - the DL 1/2 will be here before we know it!

Good morning and happy July everyone!!! I can NOT believe it's July! Where is this year going??
We did our 8 mile run on Sunday, and boy did we find some hills! It was a tough route, but I learned that it is actually part of the route for my first half in November - so good to get in some training on it.
I also got in an awesome 4 mile run last night. PR pace of 11:58 for that distance!
Panda - I am humbled by the fact that your walking pace is actually my running pace! YIKES!! I am picking up speed though. I did my 4 miles at 11:57 pace last night - which is my fastest yet!
Vicky - I am training for a few different goals right now...I am running a 15K in the Texas heat in three weeks. Then, I am registered for the Disney Half in January. I am planning to do two more halfs before then, so I want to do that one for time.
Jennifer - I do like my morning runs, mainly because it gets them done and I do'nt let life get in the way of my workout. But, there's nothing like letting go of the stress of a long day with a good run! It was *only* 92 degrees last night here, and a little cloudy, so I was able to get in a 4 miler out on the trails near our house. What an awesome way to let go of my day!
jship210 - I tried to send you some sunshine! :) Funny enough, it did actually rain here that afternoon!
Jill - Those are some great goals for the week! I have been working on the going to bed earlier goal. Some days definitely go better than others!
I hope every has a great rest of the week! Short work week for me!

Hello team! I can't believe it's July already. It feels like it was the start of June just a couple of days ago. Yesterday was Canada Day. It was kind of awkward to have a one day holiday and then to go back to work today. But a day off is a day off so I'm not complaining :) I went to the gym yesterday and my PT had me work on deadlifts again. I went up to 95 lbs! Cool! He also checked my right calf which was pretty tight. He thinks it might have been causing my night cramps and achilles problems. I think I need to use the Stick a lot more than I have (which is not much at all).
Eva - My TA is making the dining reservations for us. I thought I read somewhere that I wasn't able to use the online system because I booked through a TA. I'm keeping my fingers that we get most of our reservations. Tutto Italia and Boma are on my list along with Saana, Chef Mickey's, Kona Cafe and a few others.
I thought your costume idea was cute and I have no problems with it but I can see where your friend is coming from. I guess because characters were dealing with an unplanned teen pregnancy? I haven't seen the movie so I actually wouldn't have even recognized the characters. A friend of mine dressed as a chef and then put a picture of an oven door and a loaf bread on her tummy. Not sure if you think that's cheesy or not... :)
Connie - Thanks for starting a new thread for us! I'll get my hours and mileage to you tonight. How's your ankle doing?
Dave - Agree with you that the mornings are the best for exercising. Now I just have to get up and out there! :) How's your DD doing? How far along is she?
Teresa - WTG on your 8 miler! Good luck with your 15K. Keep us posted!
Lynn - Wish I were going to DL and getting the Coast to Coast medal :)
Have a great day everyone!

Hi Y'all.
Vicky she is still due in early Oct but Erica thinks based on size and development that Sept is probably a better bet. Erica was a Labor and Delivery nurse for 12 years so has some insight there.
We have the nursery mostly finished and we are working on remodeling the other bedroom so they can move in with us for a while till they can get on their feet better.
I had a hard 8 miles yesterday so today was a easy hour of pool fun.
Hope everyone is doing super today.

Good Morning Team!
Thanks for the blog Dave! Today was much better, I decided to go for 6 miles, and I did 6.1 miles. It still wasn't very fast, but each mile was slightly faster than the previous one. I ended up the last mile with a pace of 17:02, so still too slow - but better than the previous mile. My first mile pace was 19something - but that is my warm up, so it is usually slow. It was a bit cooler here also, which was nice since I was out longer than usual.
Have a great day everyone!

It's been a long, frustrating week for me. :( I am really looking forward to a day off work and the holiday weekend.
I missed my workout yesterday. And I didn't get up this morning to run. I may still do an easy mile or two on the treadmill tonight, or maybe some Wii Fit, but I'll have to do my 4 mile run tomorrow morning since I didn't get up today.
I hope everyone is off to a better start in July than I am! I'll get back into the swing of things this weekend, and hopefully all the drama surrounding me will settle down for a while. I decided this week that I sure took up running at the right time...very therapeutic! :)

Happy Fourth of July weekend! Anyone have any big plans for the weekend? Do you get an extra day off since the holiday falls on the weekend?
I'm planning to run 6 miles tomorrow but found out that there's a temporary garbage dump site on the route :( We've had a garbage strike in the city for almost two weeks now so I'm going to change my route because I really don't want to breathe in the fumes. I'll probably just do my 3 mile route twice. It's going to be a pain once I start training next week and have to do LRs.
Kim - How's the heel? I mailed in my registration for the Midsummer Night's Run this week. Are you doing the 30K? I'm doing the 15K as part of my training plan for the Scotia 1/2.
Margie - Hummidity here is bad too. Even on days when it's cool, it's hard to breathe when running.
Lynn - Hope you get a sunny weekend despite the the forecast.
Dave - I remember you told me that about Erica. Always good to have a medical expert in the family :)
Have a great weekend everyone!

This week I MUST start the back to back walks on the weekends. I am actually cutting back on the longer walks. My normal routes is 3.3 miles- I rarely do less than that; then on Saturday a 2 miler - Sunday a 4 miler. Doubling the miles I do on Saturday on Sunday. I have a 10 miler in August and two Half's in October - then I will up the miles for the Goofy.
Waiting for dinner to settle a bit then ride my bike to the gym-

Well, I did it....sore knees, tight hips and all. I did my 9 miles this morning!!! Longest distance yet!
I have already iced my knees once - I'll probably do it one more time before bed tonight. I'm hoping that was a one time issue - I was feeling kind of swollen this morning when I woke up - so I'm hoping that caused a lot of the knee soreness. Sorry to be MIA ever since starting this thread! What a dead beat I must look. Things are hopping and popping in my world. Too much to go into, but a brief synopsis goes like this... Divorce, estate probate, moving, planning, forensic computer search, meetings with lawyers, miles and miles of road traveled, and other fun things!
We did go to a "rural Oklahoma town" and celebrated the fourth with some friends. They had purchased tickets to see Marty Stuart, Sawyer Brown and the 43rd President of the United States speak. It was really great. The fireworks were just as awesome as the program. I highly recommend binoculars at all such events!
I will try to get the team total updated soon. Today...tonight...sometime!

I have had to help him with moving and a loan so that he could get his license, give him furniture, etc. It's been really hard on him and just one more thing for us!
We are also working with our young nephew (20) trying to get his late father's stuff in order. Turns out, if you live a messy life, you leave a messy life. The worst part is someone else has to clean it all up!
Seems like I have been dealing with a lot of problems and none of them are mine, except that they are! :confused3

Hi Team!
Haven't been around much, and I'll admit, I haven't kept very good track of my workout times in the last month. Then, last week after my water aerobics class, I forgot and left my patellar straps at the pool. Realized what I had done as I was going to bed that night. Went back and checked the lost and found, but didn't see them, so no running until I could get some new ones.
Went by the running store today and bought new shoes and new straps, so I am good to go! As a bonus, I got to hold the store owner's new baby daughter. Surprised she doesn't have a pair of running shoes of her own yet!
I'll try to keep better track of my times and mileage this month.
Connie...Sorry to hear about your son, but glad that it's not you and your DH!

I have spent the last 2 days looking at furniture - we are taking our current bedroom furniture and moving it to the guest room in the basement, and buying new for our bedroom. After 2 days of looking at beds (mattresses) and headboards and frames, I have decided on what to get, and just went back to the store to put my order in tonight. Now I can get on with my life! I did get in 6 miles this morning, the first 2 miles is really difficult, but it is not too bad after that.

Good Morning Team!
It was a big mistake not to walk yesterday, I was in pain all day! Forced myself out this morning, knee still hurts, but I think I am better for the exercise! (Orthopod appt on Monday cannot come too soon!)

Finally home, got back yesterday and went into the office to get some admin stuff done. I had messed up some travel for next month so get that together. Got home pups were happy to see me and had a hot dog for dinner. Watched the tour DVR, nice to skip commercials .
Up early to watch the tour, not sure what the day will bring.

Morning team! It's raining pretty hard this morning. Lots of thunder and lightning! I'm waiting to see if there will be a small break so I can go out and get in 3 miles. DF says there's no rain in his area and he's just over 4 miles from where I am. Maybe I should just run to his house :)
Sue - Yup, the code worked for me. I bought two tickets YYZ to Orlando for $689. I read that the code was used up. There were only so many tickets that could be bought using it. I think that's the problem once something is posted on a discussion board. :( Of course, even though I was able to buy a ticket, there's always the possibility that A/C can cancel the ticket. So I'll have to see what happens. Since we're six months away, I'll take a chance. I might not have if we were in October.
Lynn - pixiedust: for your knee! I hope things go well at your Monday appointment.
Jack - I'm liking the cool weather too! It's nice to open the windows to get in some fresh air and not use the a/c all the time.
Kim/Dave/Erica - There are some pictures from the Toronto Women's 1/2 that the race organizers put up (not the ASI ones). Lots of the beefy :firefight There's one of me but it figures that I'm walking and drinking water during the race  http://www.towomenshalf.com/photos/index.html

Panda's first competitive walk race of the year:
had my first competitive walk race of the season. The "Trooper Island". This is a 2 mile walk race followed by a 5K un race. One of my walking group walkers and I were doing it together. This was an evening race which is harder for me since I do all my workouts in the early mornings. But being evening it's was humid but not as hot with the sun gone down.
My walking buddy and I planned to just go out briskly and try to maintain a challenging pace and then we would finish strong. Well there was a really tall race walker there that shot off the line and took a quick lead. We were not expecting anyone to go out that strong. I went after him and slowly gained on him and finally passed him at the turn around. My catching him took the wind out of his sails but unfortunately it caused me to excert a bit to much during the first half and didn't leave me with a strong kick at the end. My walking buddy passed me with about a quarter mile left and I ended up 9 seconds behind him in 22:18.
It was fun and after I had a G2 and a couple of bananas, my walking buddy and I decided to do the 5K also so we did a brisk but comfortable 39:40. We were not last but close, I think we had 4 or 5 runners behind us.
Thanks for reading.

Hi team! Got back from my 5 miler a couple of hours ago. My Garmin conked out on me because I forgot to charge it up. D'oh! Well, the low battery warning made me run faster but not fast enough to finish in time. Planning to work out tomorrow and may ask my PT not to do the deadlifts as my back still feels fatigued!
Dave - Congrats on your race! I think you often walk faster than I run :)
Margie - Those aren't my photos. I think they were taken by the race organizers. I have a picture of Erica and Kim but it's on DF's computer and I keep forgetting to take it from him. How's your DD doing?

Scott & Lynn...Totally missed your 29th anniversary. Congratulations!! DH & I celebrated our 33rd last Friday. Went to dinner at an Irish pub. Had a Guiness there and dreamed of Rose & Crown.:drinking1 Actually, we did spend a good portion of the evening dreaming about future travel plans. Think we have decided to go to CA next summer. DH has always wanted to see the redwoods there, so it's time to make that dream a reality!

Good morning, Team!
We are busy getting ready to go to Arkansas. We will be leaving on Saturday. That's where the river is, that my late BIL wanted his ashes scattered. We are still helping his DS get his inheritance. His uncle and grandfather have been busy trying to take it away from him! What a mess. I guess I may have mentioned this before. But a court battle is coming. It won't be pretty and I may have to testify, but the young man deserves to recklessly spend the money before his grandfather and uncle do! Besides, the kid has a plan to use the money for a college education and a start in life. Who in their right mind would want to take that away from him??? Guess that means they are definitely NOT in their right mind! Currently, they are holding the life insurance check and not letting DN have it. this will be ugly!
My DS is movedand loves his new/old furnishings! He is getting all the paperwork processed to get his Occupational Therapy Assistant license. He is working for the VA Hospital and really loves his job. He is planning to divorce as quickly as he can get the finances together. He will get joint custody of their daughter and she is planning to live with her dad by the time she is 12 and gets to choose.
We went to Frontier City (a Six Flags Theme Park) last Saturday with DD, DSIL, and 5 kids! The day was unreasonably Hot for Theme Park day. It reached 111 degrees before we finally left. Everyone was suffering from a melt down or melt away or something like that. It was so hot and so humid under one so-called shelter in a ride line that I almost got sick. I was much better on the ride than on the line. But it was hot, hot, hot. Even the water rides didn't seem to help much.
I am trying to locate the motivation to get moving again. It is so hard with Jon home all the time. But I must get out there and get it done! I have managed cross training but with the heat, walking has been extremely difficult. It is in the upper 80's at 6:00 am and reaches the triple digits early in the day!
I will take a computer with me on the trip and hopefully be able to keep in touch. Once all the people show up, I may have time on my hands, everyone will be wanting to fish out of my hubby's boat, he is a former river guide.
Scott and Lynn and Mary and hubby - Congratulations on the anniversaries! And to think, they all said it wouldn't last! :cloud9: LYNN good luck with the MRI!
Margie! I am praying for Sara daily. I know this has been so hard on your family. You have my thoughts and prayers. And I will see you soon!
Dave Good job on the race!
Vicky Man, that's aggravating to have an uncharged Garmin!!! But good job on almost beating it with a 5 miler!!
Jack Did you say you had rain??? We could use some and some cooling too!!!
I hope everyone else is doing great!
See Ya!

Good morning sweet captain. Sounds like you have your hands full. People never stop amazing me with the level of kindness or hate or a million other sides of themselves. Greed is the cancer that keeps us form truely having heaven on earth.
I'm going to the shirt printer next week and discuss the cost of having Panda Endurance shirts made up. Since my budding walkers are doing so well in their races I want the world to know that PE is going to be a the force in recreational sports. We really can make a difference.

Hi team! It's been pretty busy for me lately - working 9 to 5 and a few personal projects with DF lately. But I'm still keeping up with my 1/2 training schedule and workouts in the gym. The running is so-so - I always want to go faster and feel disappointed when I can't or don't. But I think it's one of those things I have to work on gradually. The only thing for me that's been slightly off track is my eating. I haven't had as much time to make food so lots of eating out but I've stayed away from white bread and pastas, fried foods and sweets.
Dave/Connie - Speaking of greed and inheritance... A few weeks ago, I heard an interview on the radio with a lawyer who worked in wills and estates. He talked about the case of an elderly lady who was sent to the hospital and doctors didn't think she was going to make it. Surprisngly she pulled through and was discharged from the hospital. She returned home and by chance dropped something on the floor. When she reached down to pick it up, she noticed there were a lot of sticky notes all over the furniture. She noticed each note had someone's name on it and realized her family been "staking" their claims while she was in the hospital. So she went to see her lawyer that day and revised her will so that everything was donated to charity.
Lynn - Good luck with your MRI! I hope the doctors don't find anything seriously wrong with your knee.
Eva - How are you doing? Has the morning sickness passed?
Scott - A Tiki Bar party sounds like a fun send off! Have one for all of us :)
Kim - How's the Goofy training coming along? Is your heel cooperating? Forgot to ask if you were registered for the Scotiabank Waterfront 1/2 or full (or neither).
Have a great day everyone :wave2:

Good Morning Team!
Connie - good luck with all your endeavours!
Dave - let us know when you get the t-shirts designed (although Scott has declaired that he is never buying another t-shirt - after giving about 50 of them to Good Will), I am sure we would be interested in your shirts.
I survived the MRI - it was more difficult than I expected - how hard can it be to stay still for 1/2 hour:scared1: - I made it thru, my leg does not like to be straight, so it started to cramp up after 5 minutes. They said Doc should get results in 48 hours, so I am hoping to hear something on Monday. It was cool enough when I got home that I got the dogs out for a short walk. Today we got in 3 miles. Today I have to clean the house for the party tomorrow, then mow the lawn!
Have a great day team!

Margie, there are some gorgeous running routes in my new town and it is definitely a runner friendly area as I constantly saw people out. There's also a "big" 10k in September.
Connie and Jack, Thanks! It's my first time in my own place and that's exciting on its own.
My race this morning went pretty well; although I'm having a Kara Goucher in Boston moment and beating myself up about how I could have won it. I finished third in my age group (it was a fast race) by less than 30 seconds (behind the first place winner) and missed my PR by less than 10 seconds (I ran a 23:57). On the bright side, I know I wasn't in peak condition and I've been training for longer races. The until the last .25 mile the 2nd place girl and I were neck and neck, at the 3 mile mark she started kicking, I just couldn't counter.
Best,
Jennifer

Good Evening Team!
Jennifer - sounds like you are in a good area! Glad your move went smoothly - (I assume it went smoothly - did not see any complaints or horror stories) - and glad to see you are in a runner friendly area!
Connie - have a good trip!
I got the results of the MRI yesterday - along with the basic runner's knee problems, and degeneration caused by age - I have a bone spur digging into my meniscus - which may or may not be torn. So - I am headed for knee surgery on August 20th to clean up bone spur, repair meniscus if necessary, and clean up the damage caused by the runners knee and degeneration. It will be orthoscopic surgery, but only 2 weeks before the DL half - it doesn't look good for enough recovery to do the 13 miles. I am supposed to get my legs in as good condition as I can before surgery, so I will keep up my walks and weight routines. I should be in good shape for the WDW 1/2 Marathon next Jan!
Have a great day all!

I think we can divert her DL 1/2 registration for the next year. I hope.

Hi Team! :wave2:
What a Day!
Getting ready for church -
DSIL decides he needed to go to ER -
About 45 minutes later DD had the shaked and vomiting - called 911 to take her to ER-
The two of them met up in ER -
It was 2:pm before everyone was back home- :sad2:
It seems like it's been a long-long time since all of this started right after Memorial Day.
I did 3.5 miles tonight then came back to get my little Hagen (& stroller) to do another slow cool down mile. He loves to walk with me. It was more of a stress reliever than training :upsidedow
Connie-:grouphug:
Lynn- it is wonderful they finally know the cause for all your knee problems & pain. And they can fix it! :flower3:

Hi team! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a new mattress delivered on Saturday so I had a nice ache-free sleep last night ... ahhh!!! :upsidedow I also weighed myself on Friday and despite eating out so much last week, I managed to lose 3.1 pounds. I can't help but think it's a fluke. But it still really made me happy and even more determined to keep it off for this week.
Sue - Does that mean only 10 weeks more of "summer"? How's your training going? Are you doing back to back LRs up to Scotia or will you start doing that afterward?
Kim - Yes, I remember Kevin! What a cutie! :) Good for him for doing a marathon! You know I mailed in my registration for the Midsummer's Night Run about a month ago and I'm glad you reminded me because my credit card hasn't been charged yet :confused3 I'll have to check in with them and see what's going on. Good to hear you're still able to train. Did you find out what was wrong with your heel?
Scott - Love the Tiki Bar!! Btw, you don't have to be old to accumulate a lot of stuff. I am unfortunately a huge pack rat :headache:
Lynn - I'm glad the doctors figured out what's wrong with your knee and that they'll be able to fix it. I'm happy to hear that you'll still be able to do the WDW 1/2 :)
Margie - Sorry to hear about DD. Sending you some pixiedust:
Jennifer - Congrats on your race! :cheer2: You should come up and run some of the 5K races in Toronto. I think you'd definitely place up here :)

I am still standing, it's hard to imagine that it's already the 20th and I haven't posted my miles or anything yet. I have been crazy busy with the family. We do have the new granddaughter set to arrive in about a month so we are planning all sorts of things including a baby shower, quilts and clothes.
My DS Nick is in Hollywood having worked on a 5 min short for the movie - Mystery Team that he worked on last summer. The are premiering it at ComicCon in San Diego later this week. It's a big convention that he gets to attend thanks to the Mystery Team group. They asked him - and paid for his fare out to LA and San Diego to help them out. He's having a blast. His hotel is near the Hollywood Sign in Glendale. Don't get me wrong, he's working hard but it's what he loves. I can't say more than that as some of it can't come out till the short is shown. It will be on Youtube later.
His current project is to construct props for the booth at the convention.
So between making sure he has all sorts of stuff to go out to LA, the new granddaughter has quilts for the princess she will be. The shower planning for the mama to be, I've been lax about posting, walking and being part of the team. So thanks for your patience and I hope to be somewhat back to normal, when Mr Hollywood comes home, the shower is over and the waiting game beings for Princess Josie to arrive.
This is the trailer that is more appropriate for the general audience, the original one had some mighty colorful:rolleyes: language that would not be Disney approved.

Very nice temp for the morning run, sunrise and then clouds and temp of about 60.
Looks like a full day at work and maybe tomorrow off, Pancake breakfast, which is really KEWL. They use it as training for feeding mass groups of folks in the event of a disaster. They feed about 12,000 people in about an hour, pancakes, ham, coffee, and juice. It is really an amazing thing to see and it is free. Pancake batter mixed in a cement mixer is KEWL!!!!
Have a great day Kids….

Morning team! :wave2:
Dave - Normally I would be missing the hot weather but since I started running, I think a cooler summer is a blessing in disguise. At the very worst, all I need to do is to take a light sweater with me in the morning. How's the car shopping going?
Kim - No reply yet from anyone at the Midsummer's Night Run. I'm tempted to register online but you know as soon as I do that, they'll probably process my paper registration.
Denise - Congrats to Nick! I know how much hard work goes into a movie. You must be so proud of him :) I can't wait to see the new short!
Scott - My mom is a hard core pack rat so unfortunately I've got a lot of experience. I did declutter a lot when we renovated recently and having a lot less "stuff" is nice :) Btw, were you joking about the pancake mix and cement mixer?
Lynn - How's the new bed?
Jennifer - Congrats on registering for your first marathon! I forget ... Are you coming for marathon weekend in January?
AFM - Worked out with my PT last night. We did a lot more lighter weights. I wanted to do some deadlifting but seem to have misplaced my gloves. I don't really enjoy the calluses so I didn't lift anything heavy. Will go out tonight for a quick 3-miler. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain.

Vicky, hopefully I'll be doing the full (I haven't registered yet), but I won't know until another month or so. I'm in my first year teaching and I have to find out if I can take a day off for it. If not this year, I should have enough next year to do it.
I did an easy 4 miles in 35 minute (8:45 pace) and high humidity (between rainstorms).

It was pouring rain this morning so we had to head indoors for the wed group walking. We have an indoor track so we did speed intervals. 50m go full out and 100m brisk repeats, we did that for an hour for a hard but interesting workout. The brisk was at about 13 min pace and the full about 10 min pace. I was tired but felt good at the end.
I'm ready for another escape to Canada.

Good morning guys.
I have to work a couple of back to back 12 hour shifts so I won't be around much. Also today is going to be a rest day since I don't do 12 hour shifts and workouts well together.
Kimmer, yep the weather has been strange this year, more rain han I can remember for a long time. You have a beautiful house there and live in an awesome area.
I'm worried about a friend right now that's going through a ton stress and I'm not sure how to help.
Scott and Lynn, we miss y'all, we still have to do a Dumbo do or die day with y'all.

Vicki - new bed is great!
Weather has been really nice - if a bit warm for my taste - here. At least the mornings are cool, so I have been able to get walks in. We spent all day yesterday out and about at Frontier Days activities - so no walk or weight routine, so I will have to make up for that today - did get short walk in this morning, but we are having friends over for lunch - hopefully Scott will be able to sneak out of work for a bit for lunch - so I will be busy this morning cleaning the house! Better get going!

Nice day here today - next week is supposed to be cooler and raining. I did get in 3 miles this morning, walking is harder and harder - I think it is partly psychological, now that I know something is wrong with my knee, but the bike riding is not bad. I've been playing tourist and visiting the last 2 days, but now I can get back into the swing of things. I have been keeping up the weight routine 3 times a week.
Hope the rainy east coast dries up a bit for you all.

Hi Team! Went out this morning and had a really great 3 miler! I ran it in my fastest time ever 29:24. I know, not the most impressive time but definitely an improvement for me. That route usually takes me anywhere from 32 - 36 minutes. Will go out for another 3 miler tomorrow and then for a massage! Oh yeah, lost another 1.5 pounds this week :yay: Maybe the weight loss is making me speedier!
Jennifer - Hope you're feeling better and you weren't too banged up.

Oh Jennifer, I fell during the 1st mile of the half in 2008. My hand was pretty bad. I found a purell station on the way to the MK and cleaned it out.:rolleyes1 Many non-disney words were said. When I went to the medical tent after the race they cleaned it out again for me. :scared1: Holy crap it hurt.
I fell last December when Mark and I were training in Disney, banged up my knee and ribs. What a mess
Recently I was fooling around in a store and Miranda warned me not to in case I fell. I told her I was wearing high heels, I only fall in my sneakers! She had to agree.
Tomorrow is the shower for her and baby Josie. We're all ready and will be glad when it;s over. Last year it was the wedding shower in the back yard. We had a tent but it still rained so much I opted to write a check. So much easier and stress free.
Bunnyfoo - Nick is in LA and San Diego with Mystery Team - he worked on a 5 min short for them and now is attending Comic-con. He had to build them a booth for the show. Hope is with him this weekend enjoying all the sights and movie premiers. They just spent the entire day in a hall for Lost and Iron ManII among other panel discussions. What a time for them. So lucky. Studio picked up expenses.
I still read a lot of posts and now that this whole shower thing will be done, Mark and I really need to get back into the groove. Before we know it winter will be back - even though we've had only a handful of sunny days. NH this year is tough.
Well final stitches in the quilt have to be done so I'll sign off.
Jen - take care of that knee!

One of my DS's friends dove into the lake and broke 3 vertibre and crushed 1 vert in his neck. He has been in hospital for about 3 weeks now with the halo on his head, he is mostly breathing unassisted now but still needs help clearing his lungs and still can;t feel below his chest. Hi All!
Just got back from vacationing in WY and CO. It was wonderful. I LOVE summer time with the kids and family!
Sorry that I have been inactive, but we were in the mountains with no internet, cell phones, phone or TV. SWEET! A little remote but great to be disconnected for awhile. We all needed it.
We had a bear at the cabin yesterday morning. Scared my mom, but she's got a great story to tell now!
I didn't get any "formal" excersize but walked everywhere!
I hope to catch up this month and be a better and more active team mate. Just a little over a month to the DL half and feeling WAY behind.

Morning team! Well, I did it - I woke up early this morning and got out for my run at 7AM. It was hard getting up but I felt good once I got going. I ran 3 miles at an easy pace (10:50 m/m). There were lots of other runners up and about so it was nice not to be "alone" :) I also heard the weather report that it's going to be hot and humid today so I definitely feel good about getting my run out of the way.
My back is still a little "ticklish" from doing deadlifts yesterday but I didn't notice it while running, just sitting at work this morning - figures!
Kim - Aww! You made my day :) I'm still about 10 pounds heavier than when I first met DF. My goal is to fit go down a size and fit into a Lululemon running skirt. Though I probably gained it all back this weekend eating birthday cake and other treats!
Jennifer - I have a hard time sitting still in meetings. My mind wanders but even worse I usually feel like I get stiff.

Yesterday morning turned nice, got out for 6 mile bike ride, but was raining by the time Scott got home, so we did not get out for our planned evening bike ride. It was cloudy but no lightning this morning, so the dogs and I did get our 3 mile walk in today. It is raining and windy now, so bike ride is on hold - will see if it clears up a bit.
Have a great day all!

Vicky my dd loves lululemon.....she has some of the jackets but I might have to go and check out the running skirts. Might be a nice reward for hitting my goal weight as well. DO they have WISH green????
Congrats everyone on workouts.....you can tell we are starting to get close to official training:thumbsup2

Hi all,
It's horribly muggy and rainy here in Mississippi.
I did manage 4.25 miles in 36 minutes (just under 8:30 pace)

Hi TEAM! :wave2:
It's late (early) so this will be a quick one
It is too warm and humid here also, but did get in a short slow walk with my little Hagen.
Vicky- Congrats on the weigh loss -"Lululemon running skirt" you earned it!
:hippie: A princess doesn't sweat dear, she glistens And the rest of us sweat profusely-I tend to notice it when it drips like rain. :confused3
DD is still in the hospital - lots of tests, x-rays, etc. They tried solid foods today. Late today they took away all her pain meds for 12-hours before doing another test in the morning-truly thankful she is there and not here! The wound vac was taken off the left side and should come off the right side in a few days.

Hot and muggy here also, it was nice to have the sun ALL DAY yesterday. We had wicked t-storms last night, and of course it is raining today.
Today will be sucky at work, I am a insurance broker, and we have a underwriter coming into our office today that no one in our office can understand some of her underwriting decisions. This however will be our first face to face so should be interesting.
Have a great one everyone!!!!

Happy Wednesday Team!
Had a nice week at the cottage. We lucked out with some nice weather but the lake is still too chilly for swimming.
Vicky, Congrats on the weight loss. I've been a little slack on following a structured training program for Scotia. I've already started my goofy program. I will see if this has helped or hurt me by not doing a short vs longer midweek run in favour of back to back weekend runs.
Pixie dust & well wishes to all who need.
Have a great day everyone.....Sue

Good Morning Team!
Cool and cloudy here, not supposed to get much above 60 degrees today! It is pretty breezy also. I skipped my walk this morning, and may not get out for bike ride, will have to keep an eye on the wind - but I will get in my weight routine and maybe some Wii Active today to make up for the lack of a walk - won't help the dogs but I might burn a few calories.

Hi Team! Got out early again this morning. I was suppose to do a 35 minute tempo run but it was so muggy out, it ended up being a tempo jog  Oh well, I still got my 35 minutes in so that's what counts. I'll go out again tomorrow morning for 3.5 miles and then a 1/2 training session at the gym in the evening.
Kim - Good luck at work today! I love Lulu jackets and hoodies too! I try not to visit too often:) I haven't seen any lime green skirts there. RunningSkirts.com has a green skirt - though not as bright as the WISH green.
Sue - Lucky girl! You missed all the rainy weather in the GTA :cutie: Are you using Scotia as training for Goofy or are you going for a PB? I can't believe it's the end of July - we'll be at the end of September before you know it.
Margie - and pixiedust: for DD! Good luck with the test results! Keep us posted! Oh, I drip sweat at the gym too. Some of the other ladies there don't ever seem to get sweaty. They seem like they're working hard too :confused3 Heck, I seem to get sweaty just walking on the TM so maybe that's part of the problem :rotfl:
Jack - We've got high humidity too. If we turn on the a/c, it just feels too cold but without it, it's sticky. :headache: Sorry you had to cut your tree down :(
Lynn - That's pretty cool for July! Have you tried the Wii Fit before? Just wondering how it compares to the Wii Active.
Connie - :wave2:
Well, that's all for me! Make it a great day everyone!

Thanks for all the wishes, thoughts, encouragement, and pixiedust:
DD came home tonight - only five days this trip, lots of test, but hopefully they now have the mediation adjusted so her body can tolerate it. She has the pik line in her arm and hooks up her own IV antibiotic drip twice a day. SOoooo looking forward to the day when this is all behind us!

Morning team! I got out this morning for a 3.5 miler. It was gorgeous - no humidity and the temps were low. It actually felt more like a September morning which was nice. Hamstrings on my right side are a little tight. I didn't have much time to stretch after my run. I wish I had a foam roller at work but I guess I'll have to Google some stretching exercises instead. I'm back in the gym tonight for a quick 1/2 training session.
Kim - WTG girl!! Congrats on the 3 pound loss! And day 4 of no pop:cheer2::cheer2: So are you going to let DD get a tattoo?
Margie - Glad to hear DD is back home
Jennifer - I love how you said your run turned into getting back in 40 minutes. That's exactly how I felt. Humidity and heat were much better today though. Hope your weather has improved too :)
Scott - I laughed at your guys and instructions. DF got a Blackberry for his birthday and kept asking me "How do I do x, y, z ...??" I don't have a BB myself so I had to look everything up in the instructions that came with it. What kind of tattoo did you get?
Anyway, that's it for me - have a great day everyone!!

Good Morning Team!
Kim - congrats on the weight! If you let your daughter get the tattoo, make sure she keeps it small and someplace that can be hidden - foot would be good, so she can cover it if she regrets the decision later in life. Foot is all near bone, it will hurt more than in a more fatty spot - that might deter later tattoos.
Margie - good news on your daughter being able to come home - more pixiedust: for her recovery!
Vicki - I still have not gotten the Wii Active out of the box - we have done the Wii Fit occasionally - guess I will have to put the Wii Active back on the list for today!
Have a great day team!

Doing a quick pop in on lunch. Did back to back to back workouts last night. Run - Pilates Class - Dog Walking. Was going to do weights during lunch at the gym but just couldn't get motivated. I'll be running tonight.

Wow! I have been such a DIS slacker this month!
Luckily, I haven't been a slacker on my workouts! :)
I wanted to check in quickly. It's been a busy month of traveling on the weekends, and trying to fit in workouts around the strange rainy/stromy weather that we are having.
I ran my first 15K two weeks ago, after 4 days of being sick. I slowed myself down right from the beginning, because it was more important to finish than to do it quickly. My normal pace group finished in 1:56 - and I did it in 2:02 - so not too bad!
I'm looking forward to August, when we are not doing much traveling at all. I'll be able to meet my class for workouts on a regular basis.
I hope everyone is having a great month! Sorry to be MIA!

Good evening Guys!
Lynn: So sorry about the knee surgery. I know it will be fine, but surgery is no dang fun!
Vicky, Congrats on the new mattress! You lost a 5K! How cool is that?
Margie, this too shall pass! You and your family hae my continued prayers.
Jennifer! A full! Good going. You are so speedy we expect to hear how it took 27 minutes! Sorry to hear about the scrapes. Hope you have healed well!
Kim, Congrats on your weight loss. That's awesome you got rid of the Pepsi.
Dave, Shoulder big enough for one more? Some days just hurt. I think I will start standing on my head. Afterall, Eeyore says that some days just look better that way.
Will write more about me later. I got this far, for now!

Good Morning Team!!!!
Vicky: Yikes, sorry to hear about your thigh hammys. Take care. I am actual ok with her getting a tat, I have 2 of them but .....dad said no way till she is 18 and can sign for it herself...
Lynn: That was kind of my thinking. Where she wants it, it really wouldn't be visable unless she was wearing sandles, and I told her it will be extremely painful there as it is straight on to bone and you don't want 1/2 a tat...lol
Sue: Great workouts!!!!
disneyfan97: Wahoooo good job!!!!
Hey Connie:hug:

Happy Friday team! Worked out last night with my PT. We did deadlifts and went pretty heavy (well for me anyway). So no problems with my hamstrings today but everything else is sore after a tough weight workout :) No plans for the long weekend - I'm just looking forward to having the extra day off.
Kim - I'm not too familiar with The Beaches. I've been to one pub there. I'll ask my friend since he lives in the area. Were you thinking of food or just drinks? I guess we're about three weeks away huh? Yikes!
Teresa - Congrats on your first 15K! Fantastic time :)
Sue - It's quiet here too. I can tell that lots of people are away - I actually got a seat on the subway this morning and no line ups at Tims.
Like Sue said, it's August tomorrow! Yikes! Where does the time go? Take care and have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning Team!
It's great day in the neighborhood. And really great in mine, I only have one neighbor! Not much can go wrong there!
It's been long month for me. I am feeling better today. I was feeling physically pretty yucky after vacation. But that has passed, for the most part. Got out for an easy 2 miles this morning. Wasn't as easy as I hoped it would be, but not as hard as I thought it might be! :rotfl:
We are well on the way to getting our nephew and his business straightened out. Don't know how many times we will have to go to court, but rght now it looks like at least 2, maybe more.
DD wedding plans are coming along nicely. We will be back in Arkansas for that in October. That's where she has decided to get 'r done!
My son has his OT license test date set up and has filed for divorce. I hate to put it quite like this, but
As Sue said, it is time for a new month tomorrow. Get those miles and minutes in kiddies!
See ya - Connie

Good Morning Team!
Knee is still hanging in there - I am anxiously awaiting surgery - Aug. 20th.
Last night I broke out the Wii Active - it was more work than I expected it to be - a workout of squats, lunges, running in place, and upper body exercises using a resistance band. It was kind of fun. I may have to explore it some more.
I did get in 6 miles on the bike yesterday, and this morning, I got in my 3 mile walk with the dogs, will do bike ride after breakfast, and weight routine later.
Have a great day everyone!
