Is it showing on the 4 day Wonder as one of the evening shows in the Walt Disney Theatre or as a scheduled movie in the smaller Buena Vista Theatre?

We haven't seen the new one yet, but found the comments about the Lion King so heartwarming. Definitely, IMO, the best Disney movie ever.
Web Master Michelle, do they ever show that on the big screen at the ship? If not, I will need to suggest as its so beautiful and powerful.

PiperG, yes they do! I know they show the movies in the Walt Disney Theatre when they have their "Premiere at Sea" of each film, I have been on two sailings where this has happened. I don't know how long they will continue that before they move it to the Buena Vista Theatre, but they definitely do show films in the big theatre when they open. :D

Just saw Lilo & Stitch..loved the music...loved the theme (hawaiian!!).. disappointed with the violence and uncontrolled anger outbursts. My 4 y/o had a hard time understanding and was under her blankie a lot. Some wonderful funny spots and as always, a wonderful message.

my kids will be relieved to hear this.....they were disappointed when they read the posts that said it wasn't going to be shown...
they may be 15 and 17 years old, but they're still confirmed disney animation fans....
and by the way, my son tells me that this film was entirely made at the animation studios in florida.....a very big deal in his book.....

It is only the second film to be fully made out of the Florida Sutdio. It is also the first movie to feature full watercolor backgrounds since Dumbo. That really added to the Hawaii theme, imho. And the first movie to depict the heroine as something other than the 'barbie (read-impossible) ideal'. There are points the movie does get a little scary, but it had to, to really show what Stitch had to overcome. I'm not going to discuss it further as it'll spoil it for others.
And I'd agree that Lion King is probably the best overall movie to come out of Disney, not to say the others are not great, just it was exceptional.
And again, make sure not to miss it if you're cruising soon! :)

Saw it yesterday. Loved it.
Keep in mind that this movie comes from the same studios that killed Bambi's parents, (And killed Simba's father) and it really isn't that bad.

I saw "Lilo & Stitch" on land also & thought it was very good & funny, but NOT "Lion King" quality. It did make me miss Hawaii though...:(
All I know is if they show "The Country Bears" on the August 3rd cruise, I'm jumping overboard...!

That's funny. I've always said, "Lion King was good, but not Beauty and the Beast quality".
Oh well, we all have our favorites!

I agree with all those who have said that the Lion King is the best. I love most Disney cartoons, but that one is my favorite (and the fact that it is blatantly stolen...er, based on one of my favorite childhood cartoons, Kimba the White Lion, makes it all the better!).
I'll probably see Lilo and Stitch on our 4th of July Wonder cruise if we can find the time...there is always so much to do and too little time to do it. But after reading an article in the Wall Street Journal on how they strove to keep the quality up while keeping the budget down, I am quite interested to see how it turned out. It was fascinating reading...even something like putting fancier stripes on the sister's shirt or flowers instead of leaves on Lilo's dress would have cost thousands more, so they cut corners in those small areas where the audience wouldn't be likely to notice.

Just a warning, I was surprised at the violence in the begining of the movie. (yes, I am one of THOSE moms) We took our girls, 2 & 5 to see it even though it was rated pg. I had read it was for mild sci-fi action. The first couple minutes of the movie was all Lazers, shooting each other etc. I thought wow, Disney has got all new age! In the end though, the movie had Disney's values & life lessons. One of those feel good movies. My husband & I enjoyed it. There was alot of adult humor, well, things the little ones don't get like all Disney movies, nothing "Bad". In the end, I was glad we watched it. Don't get scared out of the theatre in the firtst few minutes of the film, they are just setting the stage.
By the way, my oldest(5) has only been watching the Disney Movies for a year or so. I think they all have a bit of violence. She had never even heard of a gun until Very recently. Of course I have lightened up a lot with my little one. She is 2 & watches ALL of them, Tarzan is her favorite. She doesn't seem as affected by things. The firtst time DD5 watched Bambi, she was traumatized!
lol kids! no one rule will fit em all!

Just back from the 6/23 Wonder cruise...Lilo and Stitch was shown starting on Monday the 24th in the Walt Disney Theatre. They also had two or three other shows during the rest of the cruise that alternated between the Buena Vista Theatre and The WD theatre. From what I heard, they turned people away at each of the showings and wound up adding 2 or three additional shows including one at 1015 on the last night of the cruise (following the last Disney Dreams). We did not get a chance to see it (too many other things going on) but will see it here at home. According to Cruise Director Rick, this was the most successful "premear" of a Disney movie at sea!

Just back from the 6-22 Magic and Lilo was prem-eared on Wednesday in the WD Theater. However, that was Cozumel day and since the ship didn't sail until late, and our dinner was at 8:30, we were at Carlos and Charlies during the first showing. We did see it on Thursday in the Buena Vista Theater. My 8 year old son said it was sad, but good

I must say that I agree...The Lion King is the very BEST Disney movie!!! I love the movie and the broadway show:) A part of me has "Fallen" for the little lion. I look forward to going to see Lilo and Stitch, as the previews I have seen and reviews I have heard have been great. I "Wonder" though if it would possibly be on my 3 day cruise that leaves port on Halloween?!?! If any one knows how long movies usually stay on the ship please post so we can all know! I don't think I will wait to see it aboard, but Disney movies are great to watch more than once....:)

Ok, now that it's out there more I'll say a few more bits on this one.
I still stand by my statement earlier to not miss this if you're cruising soon.
As to the violence, it was all with rayguns (which I was going to say look like toys, but they are toys if you have been to a Disney Store lately :) ) or other preposterous things that the kids do know are not real. Lots of Looney Tunes kind of stuff. Don't be concerned over it. A small spoiler, the 'blue punch buggy' in the commercials is being used by Stitch to defend himself from another alien that's not in the commercial.
SPOILER! READ NO FURTHER if you havn't seen it yet!! :)
Think of Stitch as a child, an undisiplined child with superpowers. A lot of the indicators are there, he says a 'bad word' to the Ruling Council. When you ask him something he reacts badly. a very immature child at the beginning. But his survival is on the line, so after hanging around with Lilo, he begins to learn a lot of good behaviors from Lilo and Nani and has to overcome his original design of being destructive. Yes it has some really sad points such as when Lilo is being taken away by Bubbles, but it has to to really balance out the movie with goals and some real life lessons.

I took my dd3 to go see it in the theaters. (We couldn't wait for our cruise). IMHO the violence is on the same lines as the Buzz Lightyear cartoons. She loved the movie.

We just got back from the 6/23 Wonder and they showed it six times in the Walt Disney Theater. There was a huge demand for this, so they showed it at 10:15 on the last evening. However, DD said it wasn't crowded.
She loved it. (She's 13)

I took my 2 1/2 year old daughter to see Lilo and Stitch last week and it really scared the heck out of her...she was upset at the beginning wih the shooting, then she cried because Lilo didn't have a mommy and daddy (why did they go away and nevr come back for Lilo she wanted to know) then Why was Lilos sister always yelling at her....the why are the bad monsters trying to kill stitch...then oh no the monsters have Lilo in a jar and are taking her into space.oh and the biggest one was how come the bad man is trying to take Lilo away from her family!!..she got so upset everytime one of the aliens got close to getting stitch....it was really to muh for her, I will be thinking twice about taking her to see anything like that for awhile!

We took our DD2 and DD5 to Lilo and Stitch last weekend. I was a bit leary as I had heard about the "violence" and we are careful about what we let them watch. They do NOT get to watch Saturday morning cartoons, for example, unless it is something like Little Bear or Blue's Clues. However, neither they nor I were bothered in the least by the violence which was portrayed in a very alien/cartoony way.
As an adult, I laughed and I cried throughout the movie. I would definitely see it again.
DD2 did need some comforting during the daring rescue sequence as she kept asking "Where's Lilo? Where's Lilo?"
