I have always been a major Disney fan, collecting Disney figures and even the old happy meal toys. I also like the artistic side of it, and love painting and drawing. As I sell my work I am often drawing.
So I have shared all these with my DD who is nearly 2. And she is now completely in love with Disney and Playhouse Disney channel!
I have a lot of people saying I have brainwashed her!
I think Disney is such a lovely thing to have in your life. I have passed down all my figures to DD and she loves to play with those. And she enjoys painting and coloring. So she's turning into a mini me lol
We took her on her first trip to Disneyland Paris Christmas last year. And she loved every minute of it.
Her room is decorated in Disney princesses. I probably am brainwashing her!
She can name Mickey, Minnie, Goofy etc Bolt, Mermaid. She has learnt a lot of words from Disney films etc
Is there anyone else like this. And what do your friends think?

If you are then I guess most parents on here would be 'brainwashing' thier children too.

Kacee loves everything Disney...he talks about it all the time, randomly sings 'It's a Small World' and 'Pirates of the Carribean' theme tunes...he watches Playhouse Disney and can sing along with bits (but not all) of his favorate shows Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins etc.

He also loves the Pixar Films (mainly as they are the only ones I have) and loves to watch Cars, Finding Nemo and both toy Story films as much as possible.

I personally don't mind it...I think it's better than a lot of what children at his Nursery talk about and much better than one of my friends son's who at 5 years old can't have a conversation with anyone but can recite along with every single one of his Thomas the Tank Engine DVD's.

Yip our kids are brainwashed...everyone tells me that....I think as a disney fan its normal...:rotfl: My house is like a disney store...disney traditions (about 40) in the livingroom, 6 framed pics there too..2 are massive.

The hall has a display unit with more traditions and disney snowglobes..Kitchen 99% of our cups/mugs are disney..I have a mickey mouse toast rack and a mickey mouse mug tree...I have 3 very large disney statues in there too...

My bedroom has only one disney statue in it as I don't want ANYONE to touch it, its my pride and joy...massive jiminy cricket by master replicas...its gorgeous!!

My kids rooms are outta control...big shelving unit in my girls room with about 200 soft disney toys on it...also framed prints in her room...my wee mans room is a mix of disney toys and prints of himself meeting the characters all over it.

My friends think I'm mental, full stop!!:lmao:

I don't care I love my bits n pieces and believe it or not I don't reckon its too much in your face!!!:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rotfl:

Actually as I'm speaking I'm actually have a wee shifty about with stuff to have a wee change...

Always been a huge disney fan I went to florida when i was 21 (now 40ish ....cough .So when my DD came along i watched all the films again with her (when I was little it was a big treat to go and see a disney film at the cinema):wizard: she got into the princesses then Hsm and Hannah montana she has been to DLRP 5 times(6 if you count the time i was pregnant with her ) and now she is nearly 12 and is happy to be a disney geek she puts people right when they say eruo disney:rotfl:and know bits of trivia we have disney nights we collect things save tickets etc and make scrapbooks , in fact disney has bought us closer together and she likes it no matter what her friends say or think ........ and me well I just like having someone my age to play with:rotfl:

Ps her Dad is still know as Grumpy and goes along with us to keep us happy :rotfl:

Glad its not just me who is told they are brain washing lol!!!
I get it so often from friends, most of them just dont get my love of Disney!!
My house too is like a disney store. And I would have the whole of my flat decked out in Disney, but my husband wouldn't let me. But slowly bit by bit more of my figures and stuff are creeping in.
I'm so proud that my DD can name all of the characters, And hate the term brainwashing. Im there with you guys.
Just dont get why people make these comments. Most of the people who say it to me, aren't Disney fans to begin with.
They dont know what their missing!!!

I love how Kyra's first word was Tigger.

I never really forced Disney upon her, i mean from 18 months she loved My friends Tigger and Pooh and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I booked her first Disney trip when she was 2 because i wanted to go back to the magic....I had no idea how much she would fall in love with Disney, I spent the whole time before our first DLRP visit worrying that she would hate it and cry at the characters....But i look back and i remember the first time she got to meet Mickey she threw herself at him and just giggled with Joy.

She is now 100% Disney obsessed, even though she hardly watches Playhouse Disney (she says its for babies lol) anymore she will watch any Disney film on offer to her. Its so nice to be able to share Disney with her and see her appreciate the magic that alot of people i know do not understand.

People think i brainwashed Kyra to like Disney, but she brainwashed herself lol.....I just hope her love for Disney grows more and more as she gets older.

I for one cannot wait to take her to Walt Disney World.

What a perfect way to put it. And I just had to reply my daughter is called Keira different spelling!!! And I had all the same worries regarding meeting characters etc. And she gave the greatest smile and shouted Mickey when she met him!!!!

What a great post :thumbsup2

My DD1 (4) also thinks all airplanes go to Disney when she sees them in the sky :goodvibes Eventhough we have been elsewhere abroad :lmao:

My DD2 (13 mth) LOVES Mickey Mouse sooo much and I swear it's only come from recognising him in photos around the house and our trip last year (she was 5 mths at the time but had Mickey peering at her a few times in her pushchair!!). She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and squeals with delight when it's on. We were at the GPs the other day and she has all these ornaments on her shelf above her desk, DD2 kept squealing (she can't say much yet) and pointing and when I looked up it was because she had a Mickey Mouse 'Doctor' figure on her shelf :lovestruc

I must admit we don't really have Disney figures etc around the house (too much other clutter lol) but we do have a few photos from our first trip and the girls both have Winnie the Pooh & friends soft toys in their rooms as well as Sulley (DD1) and Mickey & Minnie & the Alien from Toy Story (DD2 in her cot lol!)

What is the harm in introducing your child to 'magical' experiences and nice things in life - there is far too much out there these days that children shouldn't see - they grow up too soon

i always get the i am brainwashing her thing it really annoys me. ashleigh is two and is a little disney addict but because she loves it. i dont sit her in a dark room watching dvds till she likes them. ash has over 50 disney dvds, sounds like a lot but she gets one and watches it a lot and then moves onto the next one. she can name more disney characters than i can count, she knows them all. she corrects people all the time its so funny. we have only been to dlrp twice the first time when she was 22 months and i said i would try it and if she didnt like it that would be the end of that. she was a bit cranky the first few days but then she really got into it. she had an amazing time on our second trip. she knows so much about disneyland she is always telling people about the dragon that lives under the castle or the parade etc. she spends half the day singing everything and anything to the tune of iasw, a while ago she kept singing i love mammy after all lol.

so i dont care what anyone says its something me and ash enjoy together and anyone who doesnt get it well tough.
