Hi! I'm LL and I'm going back to Disney!! :woohoo:
This trip is a very unexpected trip, I honestly didn't think I would be going back so soon but it has happened! WOOT!
If you'd like to read about my last two trips, the links are in my signature. :thumbsup2
The Cast:
LL, me of course. In real life people refer to me as Leslie but here on the DIS most call me LL. Take your pick. I'm 26, turning 27 before the trip. I am married to the most wonderful man, Marc. (Today is actually our 1 year Wedding Anniversary!) This will be my SEVENTH trip to Walt Disney World. This will be my third time staying on Disney property.

Me in May 2009.
And....
That's it! At least, I am the only person from my household going to Disney in September. ;) My husband has yet again agreed to let me travel to Disney without him, even though he loves it. Just not as much as I do. If you read my last PTR you'll remember that when I went in May with my DIS Buddy, Jen for half of the trip and then my Mom for the other half, he was promised a flat screen tv....well now he will be purchasing a Wii in the near future as well. :rolleyes1 It's well worth it because I get to go to Disney again. :woohoo:
How this trip came to be....
Even before my May trip, I had been throwing around the idea of traveling to Disney for my Birthday on September 3rd to take advantage of the free admission of course. My May trip was a wonderful trip but it rained a lot of the time and I had a really hard time with blisters on my feet and felt like I wanted a redo. Just a short trip, 3 or 4 nights so I could get my Disney on again under hopefully better circumstances. For some reason Marc was not happy with me going solo on my Birthday. I'm still not really sure why, but maybe he just wants to be with me on my birthday. Well I was pretty bummed that I wouldn't be going to Disney in the fall, I really wanted to go to MNSSHP again and I just wanted a redo. My wonderful DIS friends, Jen (jenjolt), Paula (ILuvCrush) and Christine (2xcited2sleep) were all planning to be in Disney at the roughly the same time at the end of September. They have been trying to get me to commit to that time frame so we could all gather in Disney. Of course it doesn't take much enabling to get me to agree to a Disney trip! :lmao: I ran the numbers, consulted with Marc and he agreed! Yahooooo! I really didn't think he would but he did. My vacation time was approved and I am booked and ready to go!
My dates as of right now are September 27 - October 1, staying at Old Key West resort. (I'm renting points for the stay) I'm really truly super excited, even though it's my 7th trip to WDW, I feel like there will still be a lot of firsts and new things for me to explore and enjoy as well as the old favorites.
I hope you will all join me on the PreTrip Planning Adventure. :goodvibes

I do have an idea BUT I feel like I can go anyway which way I want except for a few solid events/meals/etc. So what do I do when I need to get organized and in planning mode...??
Make lists of course!
I made SEVEN lists today, along with my budget for the trip. :rolleyes1
First off, is the To Do List.
To Do List:
*Steal Mom's Mickey Pendant to Wear: She bought the better one in May, I don't like mine. I'm sure she'd let me steal...I mean borrow it for my trip.
*Make Packing List: Yep, I make lists for my lists.
*Make Shopping List
*Plan Outfits: I'm so over wearing frumpy tshirts in Disney. I hate feeling like Mag the Hag. I want to wear some nicer yet still cool and comfortable things this time around.
*Book Airfare: I'm debating between Providence and Manchester. Both are about the same, so wherever I get the better deal.
*Make Park Itinerary
*Buy MNSSHP Ticket: I worry about pre-buying it but I want to make sure I get to go. I worry about rain...what should I do?
*Book Extra Night?: When I told Marc I was going for 4 nights he thought that was silly especially when I'm leaving on Sunday and have Saturday off. He offered if I could get a reasonable priced room only reservation before my OKW one that he would get that for me for my birthday. My OKW reservation is all set and I don't want to mess with that one anymore and I like the idea of seeing two resorts. It's still not certain though...we'll see.
*Come up with Countdown: I want some sort of new countdown for this trip. I'm thinking around the 30 or 60 day mark. Any ideas?? I don't really want to use my photo countdown again, maybe for the next trip.
Shopping List:
*Little white shrug thingy: Mom said she could probably help me make one so I am on the lookout for a pattern. I want a short sleeved white shrug that will be cool enough to wear with a tank top and not show my yucky arms. :rolleyes1
*Blister Socks
*Powder
*Body Glide or Bandaid Stick Thing
*Bandaids/Moleskin/OH MY!
*Jen's Birthday Gift (though this might be sent to her house instead of bringing down)
*Travel Deodorant: I am pretty sure I am all set with all of the other toiletry items leftover from my last trip. Sigh. No new sparkly travel sized items for me.
Did you notice something missing?
Did ya?
Huh?
SHOES! Can you freaking believe it!?!?!?! The day after I came home from Disney in May, I ordered a new pair of asic sneakers because I promised myself before my next trip they would be broken in and my feet would not suffer like they did. I will bring along my croc flip flops for around the pool and one pair of mary jane crocs. I am hoping my primary shoe will be the sneaker. Operation break in is on!
So there are the first two lists of what will be many of this PTR. :rolleyes1

*Buy MNSSHP Ticket: I worry about pre-buying it but I want to make sure I get to go. I worry about rain...what should I do?
Don't buy it ahead of time. It will cost you a little more but then you don't have to worry about going in the rain. They will not sell out. They didn't even "sell out" of tickets for the 10/31/08 party. (It was reported they had sold out to whatever the limit had been set, but then opened tickets back up for Halloween).

Am :rotfl: at "Mag the Hag." You don't look that way at all. But I do know what you mean about t-shirts and shorts and humidty and all... sometimes it just doesn't mix. Especially when there is Capt Jack and French waiters to impress. ;)
Lists for your lists... too cute!
How nice of Marc to spring for an extra night. He IS a prince! ::yes::
Re: MNSSHP. I bought a Christmas party ticket the night of. I would think that in late Sept you'd be pretty well-assured of being able to purchase at the gate.
Hurrah for a "wide open" trip that will test your planning abilities. Or perhaps your "roll with it" abilities. :confused3 Either way, this is going to be a fantabulous trip! :goodvibes

Hi!
This is my first time posting on one of your reports. I'm one of the "shy" ones. ;) I don't think you're Mag the Hag at all. You're very pretty, but I understand how you feel about the shorts and tee shirt thing. I don't like how I look in them either. I'm a little knock-kneed and bow legged at the same time with thick calves and ankles, if you can imagine that. I solved the problem by getting some longer sun dresses. They're all very light weight so they shouldn't be too hot and I found some instructions on line to make some cotton half slips so I won't have to wear the tricot knit kind. Those would be yucky-hot! I'll only wear the dresses at WDW, so I went to Goodwill and the Salvation Army store. I think I spent under $25 for 7 dresses by going on days when there was a sale and checking both places every couple of weeks. I love me a good deal! Anyhow, I thought the dress idea might work for you too.
Have fun planning!

There is a 35% room only deal right now for that time.....

And finally, I am SO glad you got some Asics. I have been reading your TR and feeling your pain. I know you Croc people are loyal but I just think I get better support for my 'like a 60 y/o's' (according to my orthopedist) knees and plantar facitis with a real supportive tennis shoe.
Anyway, hoping to swipe some great ideas from this PTR!

You can buy your MNSSHP tickets any time up to the day before and still get the discount early sale rate I believe. Why not hold off until you get down there to be sure if your concerned? My parents were down there for a miserable event in 2007. It poured constantly and both parades were cancelled and only a partial fireworks show went on. They complained when they got home, and were given one day park passes.

Hi LL,
Long time lurker here coming out to help!! I have been to many, many MNSSHP's. You will LOVE IT and will want to go back every year. I love it more than MVMCP.
If you don't buy the tickets before you leave, be sure to buy the tickets before the day of the party. You will still get the cheaper price. But, if you do preorder and it rains to the point where shows/entertainment has to be canceled, they will give you a free ticket to a park. So, you will not loose money.
My "home resort" is OKW. You will love it there. The rooms are bigger and very quiet. Ask for a room near the Hospitality House in building 11. You don't even hear the buses at 2 am.
Have fun!!

I haven't had to book a single ADR for this trip! They are all already taken care of. :thumbsup2 More details about those coming up in an update or two. There are no values or mods open with that 35% deal for the 26th. I keep checking back everyday. At this point I will just book a value but if I can get availability at a mod I will do that since it's almost the same price with the 35% off.

Hooray!! When are your dates? Are you doing a cruise and the parks?
I will be staying at the GF for 3 nights before the cruise and spending one day at MK. MK day is the 10th and then we leave for the cruise on the 12th.
Are you going to be taking your VB mailbag? What did you think of that bag during your May trip? Do you have any pics of it? I'm deciding whether or not to get one because its in that purple punch pattern that I'm loving right now! I prefer a bag that has a long enough strap that can go across my body. I hate carrying around a bag on one shoulder.

How awesome that you get to stay at the GF! :cloud9:
I think the mailbag would be great for the length that you want. Remember how I added the clips to make mine longer too, it worked REALLY well on that bag.
This is probably the best picture I have of it.

The flap was only annoying when I put things that were too heavy in it. I think I carried my cell in that pocket just so it was easy to get too. If you didn't put heavy things in that small front pocket then it doesn't do that. :thumbsup2

Let's see...how are the buses?? Any neat things that I should look for? How is the pool?
Ok well the buses I would say is the only thing I'm not a huge fan of. They do have multiple bus stops, I believe there are 5 (wow I never really payed that much attention to that!!!) but that to me isn't a big deal. The problem is that it seems that it takes a while for the buses to come to the parks. We usually wait quite a while at the parks for the buses to come. But to me that's pretty minimal as the resort is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! Things to look for, hmmm. Well if you go into the hallway kinda thing between the store and Olivia's there are a bunch of pictures of DVC members. It's neat to see them and see how far back they go. Plus people put them in frames and I like looking at different people's taste in things!! I love the music there, all Caribbean music, really puts me in the mood. The sidewalks are really neat, they have shells and stuff in them and, looks like the beach! My favorite part is the lighthouse, very pretty. Does that count as a light fixture LL? Cause if it is, I think it's the best one at Disney!! Either way I'm sure you will be able to find some nice lights there as well! There are 4 pools there, but of course the main pool is the neatest! It has a slide that's shaped like a sandcastle with the exit in the shape of a mickey!! I've never found the pools incredibly crowded and we usually go to the main pool. They also have I think 2 hot tubs if you're into that. I know you didn't ask for this but our favorite buildings to stay in are at the Pennisular bus stop. It's the first stop so you do have to drive around the resort but I like seeing the rest of the resort. Plus on the way back at the end of the day you're the first one off. The buildings we like to stay in are right behind the bus stop so it's not a far walk either. We like building 23 the best because if you can get a room that has a view of the pond there with the fountain and it's so beautiful!! But buildings 26-23 are really good. Plus if you get at the Peninsular stop then if you miss the bus you can see it coming back and it'll stop at Miller's Road bus stop and then usually the hospitality house so you can usually get to the hospitality house while the bus goes to miller's road and then catch it there so you don't have to wait for another bus. It's not a far walk although you may have to walk a bit fast, but believe me it's not far!! I hope that all makes sense!! Oh and I almost forgot, look at the banisters on the stairs and the balcony, there's a hidden something there!!! Can you guess? Sorry it's so long and if you have any other questions feel free to ask!!

So glad to hear there is no shoe drama!!!! I hope that works out for you!!!! What are blister socks?!?!?!?!Well...blister socks are my name for the socks that are supposed to help reduce blisters forming on your feet. Apparently double layer socks help with that as well as the socks that wick moisture away from your feet. :thumbsup2

Where can I find said socks?!?!?!?!? I am intrigued!!!!
I meant to say this last night in my post, and I forgot:
First of all, I think you always look lovely in your Disney attire in your pictures, but I do understand what it is like to feel like you want to look different/better/I forgot the word you used.....but you know what I mean. I am sort of feeling the same way about my traditional Disney attire too! I love my Disney shirts, and I know Megs gets such a kick out of them when I wear them, but I feel sometimes sloppy in them. I want to be comfortable, but look pulled together and "pretty," and sometimes I just feel that I look thrown together and frumpy. I see other people who are there that look so pulled together, and would never be embarrassed in years to come by the apparel they have on. I don't always feel that way about the clothes I wear there......I want to correct this too!!! Let's team up to search the world (I mean internet of course) over for comfortable, yet attractive apparel that is worthy of Disney. Let's glam ourselves up!!!!

I'm still on the search for socks but will let you know!
I'm totally ready to glam myself up for Disney. I really want to make or buy a short sleeved shrug type thing to wear with some of my dressier tank tops. I do that a lot for work, wear a nice tank top with a sweater or cardigan but I don't feel comfy wearing them without something covering my arms up a bit. Granted, I will be wearing sneakers BUT I think it will still make me feel better than the frumpy tshirts that have no shape whatsoever!

I really like the shirts that you got me they were a little nicer than your typical t-shirt and they made me feel more feminine so I'm definitely taking those. I too have Asics running shoes, and they are just wonderful! They are like little clouds on my feet. :cloud9: I only use them when I run, but I think I need to get another pair for everything else, as my Nike's are killing me lately.
:thumbsup2 for Asics running shoes. Only type I buy.
I bought by MVMCP tickets at 4pm the day before the event and I still got the DVC discount. It ended up being a sold out party, so I would not worry about the tickets too much either. I plan to buy mine when I get down there.

This trip I haven't been obsessing over bags, shoes or ADRs. :scared1:
I can't believe it myself. It doesn't feel like a Disney trip. I guess that is the beauty of this trip...no stress! This is truly going to be a laid back trip.
I've only been going on this trip for about a week now. Christine, Paula and Jen have been planning this together since....January, is it? Needless to say they have been the ones obsessing over ADRs and they even made most of them! Score for LL! I don't even know the confirmation #'s, and I like it that way.
I still haven't officially added the dining plan to my OKW reservation but I am leaning towards doing that. Which would give me 4 TS, 4 CS and 4 Snacks. I am currently going to 5 TS establishments, one of which is 2 TS credits.
*Whispering Canyon Cafe with Jen.
I have dreamed about this skillet for months. Why I canceled this in May is beyond me but I did. UGH! I must eat this skillet. I will eat this skillet. Jen has been kind to agree to join me on my gorge fest.
I am assuming that I would use the dining plan for this BUT if I do arrive on Saturday like I want, it throws a bit of a kink into those plans. At this point I would probably be staying at Pop for that one night which means I will do the luggage transfer to OKW and then hit up the park at rope drop. BUTTTTTT I won't have my dining credits until I check into OKW, so I haven't quite figured that out yet. Still thinking on it but ideally, I would use 1 TS credit for that.
*Sci Fi Drive In with Christine.
I ate here once in 2005 but we sat at a picnic table not in one of the cars. I'm looking forward to riding in style in one of those cars.
1 TS Credit will be used and probably pay for an appetizer OOP if I am feeling one.
*Hollywood Brown Derby with all of the girls.
Salmon Polenta, Salmon Polenta, Salmon Polenta. Do I need to say more? I am so looking forward to this meal with my girls. We are going to have a blast.
I think it makes more sense to pay OOP for this meal, I think with the prices of BD, it's not "worth" the 2 TS credits.
*Yak N' Yeti with Christine.
I must see the light fixtures and the wonton dessert looks so delish! It's also the only ADR I made myself, this morning online. I love that online system! So easy to use.
I'm a little iffy on using a TS credit here because I'm wondering if I'd just want an app and a dessert. Hmm. If not, then I would use a TS credit.
*Les Chefs de France with all of the girls.
I can't wait to have the lobster bisque again and to watch C flirt with the french waiters! Good times will be had.
I am hoping to have the chef's selection menu again which is $20 but doesn't seem like a good idea for a TS credit. I dunno.
So if you were me...what would you use your TS credits for? Or would you skip the meal plan all together?? I need some input. There will be a TIW card that I can use for the discount. Just not sure. I want to say yes to the dining plan because I think it's a good deal with the CS and Snacks included. Should I not worry about the value and just go with it? What do you all think?

Just an idea... Because we usually eat breakfast in our room (DVC one bedroom has the full kitchen) we found that we liked the flexibility of no dining plan... if you're staying in a studio you will have a kitchenette, so you may wind up doing the same.

When doing that make sure you take into consideration not just your meals but your snacks into that calculation cuz we're talking Food and Wine LOL!!!! So whatever ends up being the most cost effective for you...with DVC you have up to 48 hours to add the dining plan so you have some time to become comfortable with what you want to do!!!!! And if you need help you know I will add it all up and my totals include price and tip LOL!!!

Just basically repeating what has already been said...
We found that we saved more with TiW versus the DDP in January. Remember, you get 20% off, BUT, they tack on an 18% gratiuity as well.
We don't always get a dessert, and sometimes at a CS we just want the entree-no side. Paying OOP gave us some extra flexibility back in January when we had many TS' booked. I believe we saved around $150. I would take the advice here - price out what you are going to eat and see if it adds up to less or more than the DDP.

*Whispering Canyon Cafe with Jen.
I have dreamed about this skillet for months. Why I canceled this in May is beyond me but I did. UGH! I must eat this skillet. I will eat this skillet. Jen has been kind to agree to join me on my gorge fest.
*Les Chefs de France with all of the girls.
I can't wait to have the lobster bisque again and to watch C flirt with the french waiters! Good times will be had.
I am hoping to have the chef's selection menu again which is $20 but doesn't seem like a good idea for a TS credit. I dunno.
We'll be at WCC on August 1st. :cool1: It's a repeat trip requested by Trent.
Can't wait to see flirting pictures. Be sure the camera is ready to go. Video would be better, so it leaves nothing to our imaginations
I took a year of French in ninth grade. About all I can remember is 'fermez la bouche', which probably won't help me get much at Chefs. :upsidedow

Here is the picture I had taken to remember Marc & I's 1st Wedding Anniversary.
http://ladylallie.smugmug.com/photos/581286322_Pz9Dh-M.jpg
It's a cute little blouse. What you can't see in the picture is the black ribbon that ties around my waist. I wore a black tank under it. I think I want to wear this on my Hollywood Studios day with capris. I am sure I will look goofy with my sneakers but I might bring my black and white croc flip flops to change into for our Hollywood Brown Derby dinner so I look more glamorous.
Oh and I am working on a new hairstyle.
In other trip news, I have firmed up my dates.
Sunday September 27 - Friday October 2. WOOT!
I'll be staying at Old Key West for the first four nights and then....RIVERSIDE for the last night. I can't tell you how very excited I am about both of these resorts. I found a thread of OKW pictures today and I am so ready to stay there. It's hard though with a shorter trip working in time to spend at the resort. I will prevail though!
I also made another decision today. A dining decison. I figured out what I am going to do in regards to OOP, Dining Plans and such. With the help of my dear friend Jen, we figured out the best deal for me would be to pay for my TS meals OOP. I'm going to add the Quick Service Dining Plan for my OKW stay. I am so excited about not having to worry about my QS meals or my snacks. The only day I will have to pay for my QS meal is on Friday, my departure day.
Here are the calculations that Jen came up with. I will have the privelige of using the Tables in Wonderland card so that is helping with my OOP TS Meals. I also overestimated on what I would be ordering in most cases, including alcoholic drinks when I may not have one every meal. I also dropped Yak N' Yeti because I think my Animal Kingdom is going to change.
QS Dining Plan w/ tax for 4 nights would come to approximately: $128.00
All calculations include tax and tip:
WCC meal
Before TIW: $36.00
After TIW: $28.00
Sci Fi
Before TIW: $31.00
After TIW: $24.00
HBD
Before TIW: $73.00
After TIW: $57.00
Les Chefs
Before TIW: $38.00
After TIW: $30.00
Total with QS Before TIW: $306
Total with QS After TIW: $267
Again, thank you so much Jen! This was way less then I budgeted for food so I am quite happy with these plans plus I will get a refillable mug! :woohoo:
I'm still working on my itinerary, my MUST DO's and the much anticipated Park Bag post. :thumbsup2

I have a few things to share with you all!
I went shopping today with Marc, trying to find some chairs for our balcony. No luck. But I made a few trip purchases.
http://ladylallie.smugmug.com/photos/582135428_sWgLn-M.jpg
I am going all out with my blister prevention/treatment products! I bought the little ace bandages at the dollar store. I thought they might be good if I do indeed get blisters to have more protection.
I also bought some special blister bandages that help treat them from Target. This is what the look like close up.
http://ladylallie.smugmug.com/photos/582135771_WTAAo-M.jpg
I picked up the Bandaid Friction Block stick too.
http://ladylallie.smugmug.com/photos/582135445_kyN7K-M.jpg
I am quite excited about the lens cleaning cloths I picked up at the dollar store too. There are two in that package and it has a nice durable plastic carrying case too. I never have anything to carry them in, it even flips open. I hate smudged glasses and camera lens!
Since I had my camera out I took a few more trip related photos.
My phone that I purchased for enhanced Twitter updates while in Disney, I have even figured out how to text pictures too. So if you followed me on my last trip I will now have pictures to share when I am down there. (Disney wasn't the only reason I purchased this, I have a texting addiction)
Here is my Twitter link (http://twitter.com/LalliePoppins) if you care to follow along. I also link them to my Facebook page so if you would like to follow along that way, you can PM me and I'll add you. :thumbsup2

http://ladylallie.smugmug.com/photos/582136222_RMpbU-M.jpg
This one is to keep, I love The Sword in the Stone!
These ones I bought to trade....I got some good ones. I might have to buy some more....:rolleyes1

http://ladylallie.smugmug.com/photos/582136578_4SM3K-M.jpg
The mixed lot was 12 pins for $18 with shipping. I didn't think that was too bad. I'm really excited to trade pins again. I was able to find some good ones in May. It's like a big scavenger hunt!
I know you have all been anticipating my park bag choice...well it changed today. :rolleyes1
Last trip I took the Vera Bradley Mail Bag.
http://ladylallie.smugmug.com/photos/538970146_nqGXm-M.jpg
Now....I liked it a lot. It made my shoulder a little sore at times because I had a lot of stuff in it but nothing I couldn't handle. What was different about this trip was that Jen had a backpack. I call it her magic backpack! She had everything you could possibly need in that thing and I loved having the ability to bring more to the parks. I decided that I should try a backpack next trip.
When I got home and told Marc he was thrilled with himself because he has been telling me that all along. Marc has a EMS backpack which is great, a little manly since it is blue but I was planning on bring that and my mailbag. I figure the mailbag will be good on nights when I don't have as much or for MNSSHP when I don't want to be weighed down as much. Marc was going to get a new bag for his music equipment and I was going to adopt his backpack.
Well today we went to the Sports Authority in the search of socks (still looking by the way) and they had a bunch of Jansport backpacks on display which happened to be on sale. I tried on a few and fell in love with this one.
http://ladylallie.smugmug.com/photos/582136048_Q8Gst-M.jpg
You can't really tell but it's a really dark purple. It's quite cute. It was on sale for $29.97. I batted my eyelashes at Marc and he said you might as well get it. :rolleyes1 WOO HOO!
We took it up to the register and it rang up as $24.97! It was meant to be. LL has a new bag! You all got your wish! I still plan to do the backpack/mailbag rotation. I think that will be the best thing for me. I put a bunch of stuff in the backpack from our shopping trip today and wore it to walk up the 3 flights of stairs to our apartment. I couldn't get over how great it felt on my back and how much easier it was to carry the weight that way. Again, Marc is thrilled that he's been saying this for over a year now.

Ooooo, I love that backpack! Jansport has some cute patterns out there nowadays. I think you'll do great with it!
I used those same Target blister band-aids. I didn't actually get a blister from my shoes but got eaten alive by bugs one of the first nights (yes, I'm afraid there are mosquitoes at Disney) and my sandal strap rubbed right on one of the bites. The blister things worked great and they are flesh colored so you can't even see them! One warning though-they are SUPER sticky so getting them off can be, ahem, *interesting* sometimes. :rotfl:

Are you going to trade the Fireman Mickey Pin???? If you are... trade it with me *bats eyelashes* I get Tom all the fire ones and i haven't found that one;)
I'm thinking about a vera mailbag for this trip too. I like that you liked it. A backpack is great... but I hate the unavailablity of my camera with a backpack... so I want something else. The again my bucket tote worked fine for me the last time too... and the bigger the bag...the more stuff I'm compelled to lug around with me:lmao:

Your pins are cute. That's one of the few Disney addictions that hasn't claimed me yet... although I can feel myself weakening when I see cute ones. Whatever happened to your pin board you made? It was originally for the bathroom but I think you decided the humidity might hurt it?
Cute backpack. Huh, Marc knew what he was talking about. Who knew? :confused3 I think I'm sticking with Vera this trip. I think.

I was just looking at all that same type of stuff yesterday. I was hunting for moleskin, but they didn't have any. I saw all of those other wonderful items, though, and will be making a decision and purchase in the next few days. Moleskin works very nicely for me, so that will be my first option, if I can find it. It's crazy that it's so fun to browse foot care products, but when you know it means you are about to leave for Disney World, there is just something exciting about it!
I bought everybody a pack of regular no-show socks yesterday, but I think I'll stop at Dick's Sporting Goods this week and see about some of the special ones.
Your bag is great! I've been giving some thought to a backpack, because the bag I always take wears on my shoulder sometimes. I may try a backpack and see if I like it any better, even though it will seem so different for me. I have always had a bag/purse on my left shoulder.
I will PM you about Facebook. The kids have been after me to get on it for a while, and I finally did. I have enjoyed seeing pictures of friends and their families. It's cool to catch up with people I knew when I was living in other states. They all look like old people, though! :rotfl:
Have a good Sunday, LL and Marc!

Oh, you had a good shopping day yesterday, LL! Love all the stuff you bought for your trip. I think I am going to have to get the mailbag for the October trip -- I am finding it hard to resist. ;)
The backpack looks great -- you will be able to put so much stuff in there! :thumbsup2
The pins are very cool -- I am trying to stay away from them for now since I have a new trip to save for.

That white and black top is just adorable! It's so feminine and will look lovely with your black capris.
And yay for a new bag! I'm glad to you were able to figure out what will work best for you. We end up carrying a backpack for all of Henry's gear (goes in the bottom of the stroller), and I'm guessing we'll be carrying that for years to come! I like the pattern on the backpack, and SCORE for it being on sale! :thumbsup2
I hope all the blister prevention gear, along with your new sneakers help. :goodvibes
I LOVE the idea of adding the Celebration of Hotness to your ADR. :lmao:

I love your Sword in the Stone pins! I need to start looking for some traders for my very, very, distant trip in December..... maybe that will make me feel better since I'm missing out on the fall fun.:goodvibes
You did really good on your bag purchase! I think you will be able to get everything you need in that one and it will be comfortable to carry as well! Plus it's super cute, I think that design is very cool!
It looks like you are prepared for the feet, you had a very productive day!I really like the backpack, it's super cute. I did have a very productive day yesterday, it was fun doing some Disney purchases.
You seem to have the blister care covered! :) I love that friction block stick, worked so well for me when we were in PA.
LOVE the new backpack. We bring a backpack with us to the parks and stuff all our baby items in it. It is really great and doesn't seem to bother me as much as a cross-body bag.I agree, the cross-body bags seem to bother my shoulder, so I am really looking forward to the backpack.
:rotfl:Super sticky, eh? It does say they can last a few days which is nice. I am very much hoping I won't even have to use them though.
I love those blister blocks LL. I have Bandaid brand ones... but I'm down to my last one...me thinks I'll get the Target ones before September... maybe 2 packs... so I can leave one down there in my purple locker:thumbsup2
Paula:lmao: to the Fireman Mickey Pin. I don't know if I will trade that one but if I do, I will let you know.
OOOH....I love the backpack...now I think I want a new one that has pretty designs on it...see what PTRs do to me...of course I need new shoes too LOL~~
If you are in the pin trading business...ummm I will trade you for the Princess Aurora one :rotfl: I don't have one of her yet LOL!!!!!!
Glad you got the bandaid stuffs...I too have been buying bandaids and blizter prevention. Haven't bought the bandaid cushions yet but the ones at Target look very nice so maybe I'll need to take a trip in that direction soon. That is where I got my backpack LOL!!
Hmmm I didn't think about the whole bringing a smaller bag for MNSSHP...hmmm I don't know if my hipster will work...I might just have to cave and look at the mail bag cuz the cargo sling almost seems to big LOL...
Look what your PTR has done to me...first I bought clothes and now this LOL
You are an enabler! You do not need a new backpack! Yours is like Mary Poppins carpet bag, you don't need to go shopping. I am so not an enabler. :rolleyes1
I do like my mailbag. Maybe you can find one on sale...?
I love Disney shopping!! :yay::woohoo: Well, I'd say that you are on top of the blister prevention patrol! :thumbsup2 Good for you. We don't want a repeat. :sad2:

Looking forward to your PM.
I didn't get any moleskin yet. I am still contemplating if I am going to put moleskin on my feet in prevention or not. I haven't quite figured the semantics out yet if you will. Mom seems to think that made my feet worse in May and I like to take her advice since she is usually right. :rolleyes1

I'm still breaking in the new sneakers, they still bother my feet at times. I really think wearing Crocs so much has made wearing sneakers feel very restrictive. :headache:

That Friction Stick, I have never seen/heard of it. Have you used it before? It looks like something I need for August. DD12 can be a bit of a complainer with the shoes/feet. I will arm myself with any products to avoid her getting a blister and me getting a resulting headache!

I have finally come up with a countdown for this PTR. Yay!
I am going to highlight some of my favorite Disney characters!! :yay:
Now I haven't decided what the countdown interval will be because I can't commit to 80 days of Character postings but I will try to keep them pretty regular, becoming more frequent the closer we get. :thumbsup2
80 Days until Disney!! That sounds so much better than 90! :rotfl:
Today's character is....
Pollyanna

I love Pollyanna. I think she is a great Disney character. It saddens me that she is not a character you greet in the parks. She would fit in perfectly on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.
I have two favorite parts in Pollyanna. The first one is when Pollyanna discovers the prisms, I am fascinated by prisms to this day. The second is the bazaar the town has where Pollyanna gets her doll.
I think that everyone needs a little bit of "The Glad Game" in their lives.
From Wikipedia....
Pollyanna's philosophy of life centers on what she calls "The Glad Game", an optimistic attitude she learned from her father. The game consists of finding something to be glad about in every situation. It originated in an incident one Christmas when Pollyanna, who was hoping for a doll in the missionary barrel, found only a pair of crutches inside. Making the game up on the spot, Pollyanna's father taught her to look at the good side of things—in this case, to be glad about the crutches because "we don't need 'em!".
What are YOU glad about? ;)

Merlin has always been one of my favorites. The Sword in the Stone is one of those few "kid" movies that my Dad actually liked to watch with us. A few others were Swiss Family Robinson, Flight of the Navigator and The Journey of Natty Gann. I have fond memories of curling up in my Dad's lap watching Merlin and Wart's adventures.
Merlin is another one of those characters that I wish I could meet at WDW. He used to do meet and greets and The Sword Ceremony back in the day but that has been discontinued for sometime.

Merlin is on my dream list of Disney characters to meet!
Random Movie Facts:
*Character designer Bill Peet gave Merlin Walt Disney's nose.
*The first Disney animated feature with songs by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman.
I've been working on lists...are you surprised? I've made one for each park, resort and even MNSSHP. Today I am going to share Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom Not Miss List:
*Hall of Presidents.
I watched a clip on YouTube of President Obama filming his speech with the imagineers, it is so neat how they do that! I really can't wait to see the new show.
*Haunted Mansion.
*Pirates of the Caribbean.
*Carousel of Progress.
*Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.
I haven't done this in years and years, probably since I was 13. I want to take pictures from the Treehouse.
*Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
I braved this last trip and even though I was scared, it was fun. I want to go again!
*Peter Pan's Flight.
*It's A Small World.
*Winne the Pooh.
*Dumbo.
I have to ride this again. I want to ride both at night and during the day.
*Mickey's Philharmagic.
My favorite 3D Movie on property!
*Afternoon Parade
I have never seen this. Has this changed with the Celebration theme? I am pretty sure it's not the same as the Move it Shake it parade. I don't know, I am little confused about all of that.
*Spectromagic if it is showing.
I don't think it will be, I am still holding out hope though.
*Aladdin's Magic Carpets.
*Blurry Dumbo Photo.
I will get this done! I will not miss trying again.

I love Merlin! I'm a huge fan of the book "The Once and Future King" that the Sword in the Stone was based on. The musical Camelot was also based on it too. I can't even count how many times I've read it. I definitely recomend it for a good read. I love the wizards duel with Mad Madam Mim. One of my favorite scenes in any Disney cartoon!

I got the "best of both worlds":lmao: because I had a brother and all my cousins were boys so we all watched all the girl movies and boy movies, where we avoid princess movies in our home now:confused3 (when DH is home), though my 4 yo is in love with the little mermaid:ssst: don't tell my DH.

I love how you are choosing the non-traditional characters! Merlin is so funny in The Sword in the Stone -- I would love for you to be able to meet him! That would be such a magical moment for you! :goodvibesI'm reliving my childhood with the characters that I grew up with. :lmao: I already have my next two in mind so you might get two more characters this weekend!
One of my favorite scenes in any Disney cartoon!I will have to put that book on my reading list. I have so many books right now just waiting to be read. I hope do some reading thsi weekend so I can catch up!
I love Madame Mim. She is a great character and their duel is great animation!
Hey LL---love your list of characters!!!! SO much fun!!!
I would love to see a picture of the inside of the mailbag if you can do that!!!! TIA!!!I will try to get that to you this weekend! I have had a really busy week!
Were you inside my head last night?;) Kid you not I was going to type how about Sword in the Stone :wizard:when I was commenting on Pollyanna last night. but I don't have a favorite character in that movie, just fond memories watching it:) And I too watched flight of the navigator much growing up.
Can't wait to see whats next popcorn::
Love your lists, I'm an avid list maker too:lmao: Too funny! That you were thinking Sword in the Stone too!
I find it hilarious that your little boy loves the little mermaid! Too cute.
Great list! :thumbsup2

You are going to spoil us with your character countdown and then we are going to bug you to post them everyday. :laughing:I don't really like Buzz. I think it's because I first rode it after TSM and it just wasn't my thing....:confused3

Merlin would be very cool to meet! I hope that happens for you someday. I love the lists! The afternoon parade is different than the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It. I didn't get to see the parade last time but I did get to see some of the floats during the Keys to the Kingdom tour we went on.

The Sword in the Stone deal would be so NEAT! Why oh why did they discontinue that?! I hope he comes out during MNSSHP for you. And I look forward to your blurry Dumbo shot - you have such a great eye for photography, I already know it's gonna be a stunner. :thumbsup2
