Has anyone from Disboards ever won anything at the golf cart parade? Anyone know what the prizes even are?

I thought the prize was tix to the HDDR, but please don't quote me on it....I am using my brain during the summer and that is a very dangerous thing....;)

LOL, that would funny to win tickets to HDDR, we have 25 of us with 5 carts that all go together, I'm sure we wouldn't all get in :)

Jen, I believe that is what they gave out last year.

It was 4 tickets.....

And Jax, if your family is going to dress up like dalmations, I might make an offensive comment.

well, Mr. M-Sjaxjag, I do hope you were talking to Auburn Jen and Gatordad since we are part of the same float :)

Gatordad, no Dalmations, I promise. Can't tell what it will be though :banana:party:

What time is the golf cart parade? That sounds really fun. We aren't arriving until the 4th but would love to cheer everyone on!

If it is like the year we were there it kicked off very early. I think 9:00? They will close off the main road from the outpost to the settlement. The line up begins at the unhitch areas.

We never won anything but had lots of fun decorating and participating. We felt like VIPs getting waves and cheers from the crowds that line the road. I believe the others are correct about 4 tix to HDDR.

They estimated 350 carts last year were up there. A lot of them didn't register, they just joined in. I think the judges are at the 900 loop entrance. Whenever they get to Pioneer Hall the awards are given quickly and it's over. Here's some pics from last year.

Here's a bunch of photos DH took at the cart parade today. Jaxpooh's group won a special mention at the awards, but I couldn't hear if they won a prize or not.

Instead of posting them all here, they're in a public Facebook album. Here's the link:

I wanted to give the night parade an honorable mention. We had about 100 carts honking and waving around for about 2 hours. The Po Po stopped us once and said no horns. About an hour later OCSO was called in to "control" the situation a little better lol. Leave it to us campers to ruin a peaceful night at the fort. It was a good time though. only 364 days til the next night parade.

We had dinner at trails end last night and seen the fire works from the beach.
Then we stayed to see the Electrical Water Pageant :thumbsup2

We walked back from trails end to the front to get our truck and wow that's the most golf cart's I have every seen :thumbsup2.

I seen a bus driver trying to make a turn and was out of the bus trying to stop the carts :rotfl::rotfl:.

We had a great time at the fort on the 4th and will be back again in aug for my DD birthday.

And the guy riding the cooler was a blast to see.

Great pics, Jen! We are collecting more patriotic decorations for our first trip during the 4th. We are going to sell our camper and tow vehicle, get a motorhome and a GC. This is just the kind of unique family fun that makes the Fort so special. We can't wait to get our own GC and join in the fun! Unfortunatly it will be a year or two untill we can go back, so I get my Fort fix here on this board and watching our home movies. Anyway we can't wait to spend the 4th there, someday!

This was our first year doing the 4th at FW. We had a great time. The golf cart parade was more enjoyable than we thought and certainly longer than some parades we have been to. The fireworks at the beach were great. We watch the regular ones every time we are there, but the number of people were a big surprise. I don't think anyone staying at FW missed these. It was a little more rowdy than usual and more golf carts that I've ever had to contend with (we are bike people), but we had a great time.

We were in the site right across from you in 315. I saw your sign and even checked out your website. I was going to come over and say hi but you left yesterday afternoon before I got a chance to.

1st place-The golf carts with the circus animals, I think they have 4 or 5 golf carts together.
2nd place was the green pricesses golf cart
3rd was UP!

No patriotic golf cart was picked for the 4th of July parade:confused3

jaxpooh's gang got a special award, but not first place...the first place cart was a cart with tinkerbell theme...which you have as second place, 2nd place was the up cart and 3rd place was the cart with the characters roasting marshmellows on the back...

we will have to find out from theresa what her special prize was, i would really like to know...she put so much work into that train!

I will be adding some pictures of the night time activities either tonight or tomorrow and will let everyone know the link. This way, the DIS won't get bogged down with the upload of all the pictures.

Actually First ALL AROUND prize was the circus train ...WE were the CASEY JR from DUMB O. It included ours (m-sjaxjag) and (jaxpooh) my sister along with 3 more carts; made up of 27 family members. The fun was deciding what to do and putting it together as a group... of course there was fussing and fighting while we did it and we worked until 2am the night before finishing up the engine and the caboose

Actually Jen, we were first place. We were the Casey Junior Circus train from Disneyland. We had 5 carts and 27 people participating. Took quite some time to get it done, but it was all worth it. We were up until almost 2 the night before finishing it up. M-SJaxjag from the boards was the mastermind and train engineer. Second place was the fairy cart, and 3rd place was UP. We won 4 tickets to HDDR, but since there were so many of us the let us trade them for some pontoon and mouseboat time, have a great time! Jen, could you please email me the pics directly so I can print them? When I access them thru your FB they are too small to print. Thanks!

The 4th of July parade was great this year. I loved out carts (the Casey Jr train) and can't wait to see what we come up with for next year.
