Hello all!
I'm at BWV right now and we are loving it. I haven't read all the pages of the other thread, but I'll tell you what our experience has been.

We are in a one bedroom sv on the 5th floor. We were very excited to get a brand new renovated villa! I swear, I think we may have been the first ones in this villa. We could smell the new carpet when we walked in. Not bad, just new smelling. It's only a few doors down from the elevators, which is great, too. I love the decor, nice paint colors and drapes. The carpet is very well padded. If I had one complaint, and it's not a biggie, it's the refrigerator. The shelves are not very strong-two gallons makes them dip. We moved shelves around so that the gallons were on the bottom, on top of the bins. That solved that problem. The door doesn't seem to shut real well, we always double check to see that it's closed. Other than that, everything is awesome!

We have a new flat top stove and new washer and dryer. We have been using the w/d alot! Love having it!

Renovations here: The first and second floor standard hallways and doors were being redone when we got here. We looked in those hallways, and they were laying carpet. They have been painting/replacing the outside of the villas on the quiet pool side. There is scaffolding that went up the other day over there. (preferred view) Also on the end villas that seperate the quiet pool and the main pool, if you can picture that.

We haven't heard any noise from the renovation work. Saw some trucks along the canal, one with the new chair cushions in it. It's pretty busy along the canal with workers.

There must be a lot of rooms without guests when you consider the first and second floor standards being finished inside, and the rooms with scaffolding.

We love BWV! Location is so wonderful. We haven't used the busses much, so I can't comment on that. We went through Epcot to go to Magic Kingdom, and haven't done AK or DTD yet.

We are fairly new members (2.5 yrs) so maybe we still have rose colored glasses on, but we feel like this was the absolute best thing we could have done for our vacations. Our kids are 17 and 12 and it's great having access to so much so easily. Having a one bedroom is perfect, since they have their own tv and we can have our own space.

I can try to answer any questions. I know how much I appreciated any info. prior to our trip.

Have a magical day!

I was aware they were doing renovations - we own there but rarely stay there - but I'd love to see some pics.

Thanks- Diane:cool1:

Thanks so much for the report - especially for the info on the renovations. I laughed at the refrigerator since we usually have the same problem, although not for milk, LOL. Guess the refrigerators aren't all being replaced with the renovation. :)

We also love the location of BWV. Staying at BLT on our next trip (first time not at BWV since we bought in 1999) and wondering how much we will miss the EPCOT/DHS easy access.

Enjoy your trip and keep cool!

I do think the refrigerators are new, too and probably the dishwasher. Everything seems BRAND new. The lamps are awesome, tea cups and stacked luggage. I know I saw some photos in a thread on here before I left home. If I can't manage to post photos myself, search for that thread. The villa looks just like those photos.

Forgot to mention, we can see the fireworks from our balconies, too! Even sitting in the living room, if the curtains are open, you can sit on the sofa and see them.

The only room request I made was "upper floor" and we got a super room! I know it's just luck, but boy are we glad!

Please post pics or a link to some. I've seen the pics of the hallways, drapes, etc. but not any of the new furniture, tv, etc. Would love to see what our "Disney" home looks like now.

So happy to hear about the new washers and dryers. I think that you are the first to post that info. Does the dryer work better than the old one? Are they any quieter? Lucky you! Enjoy!

The dryers are pretty noisy, especially the buzzer! But I found they work pretty well if you just set a time rather than use automatic dry. I set it for slightly longer than I think it should take.

I use tinypic.com to upload pics, you can choose bulletin board resizing when you do... you get a URL, then you can post here using a link and that URL.

Would love to see pics of outside rennovations around the quiet pool, that's where we requested to be (facing pool in 1BR) when we get there Aug 20 for 2 weeks!

This is our (DH) first try at adding pictures. They are in a google web album below. If this works, we can add more pictures.

Let us know if you can see them.

DH and sons noted that the TVs are old style thick tubes. (Don't know if newer ones are planned.) We also had to ask housekeeping for a DVD player, but that was probalby just forgotten when they renovated this 1 BR.

New flat panel TVs were supposed to happen. Maybe they ran short for your villa or maybe they are being replaced a bunch at a time. Does the TV cabinet look new or redone?

Jean, It looks like the tv cabinet has been redone/repainted. Maybe they didn't bother with the dvd player because when the new tvs come, they'll have built in dvd players?

I do feel badly for those that got a run-down villa (like in the other thread), but the great news is, they are doing a fantastic job on the refurb. I feel good about the use of our MFs.

Thanks for taking your vacation time to post all your info!
Regarding your flowers and the Disney florist: I received a similar arrangement from a friend. Later in the same trip another friend sent the same arrangement and Disney florist realized it. They changed the flowers slightly and made sure that the second mug was a Mickey instead of a Minnie, so I have a matched set. Pretty amazing when you think of how many orders they take!
Happy Birthday!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. We are really enjoying this trip. The flowers were from my brother and they are really nice.

So glad BWV is our home resort. Just hearing the music they pump in the building and on the Boardwalk relaxes me! It is a perfect fit for our family.:cloud9:

Addonitis may be setting in.....

I saw on another post that they were not put in because new cabinets are on order. I hope this is true - BWV has a history of promising new things and they don't come through (they promised HDTV's and coffee tables for the studios in 2002/2003).

Great pictures, thanks for taking the time to post. I guess I was expecting bigger changes to the units, but they do look very nice!

Don't even get me started on that one!!!

Is there still a padded bench with a storage drawer in the master bedroom? We find that extra large drawer very handy. And did they keep the same nightstands in the master?

Yes, the padded bench in the master is there with a large drawer. I'm not sure what the old nightstands looked like, but these have three drawers and a larger door. They hold quite a bit of stuff.

Beth, thanks for taking time to post those wonderful pics; we are headed for BWV mid-August for 10 nights with a pref. view. I am so excited to see the rennovations but don't want to get my hopes up for a new room.

Enjoy :flower3:

I always loved the BWV light fixtures. Does anyone know if there is a way to purchase the old fixtures?Keep an eye on MouseSurplus: http://mousesurplus.myshopify.com/ They sell a lot of used WDW furnishings, everything from wall decorations to TV armoires.

ETA: You could even try contacting them in case they have what you want but it isn't showing on their website.

That is just really classy. It is bad enough that some people feel a need to do this at Christmas.

Sorry for the hijack OP. What is the Village Green area? We are in a Preferred Studio in September (first BWV stay) and I'm not sure what to request.

Village Green is over looking the courtyard infront of the hotel. With that view, you can see the Boardwalk (although sometimes obstructed, the Epcot Ball, the Bay and Ferry. I like it because you do not get the noise from the night clubs, but you get somewhat of a boardwalk view. Plus all of the studios are dedicated, I believe.

Ok do you mean the area at the rear of the hotel, overlooking the Boardwalk and Marina?

I consider the front of the hotel to be where you drive up in front?
