Don't forget today to raise a glass in support of our troops, past present and future for the sacrifices they have made for us.

Today is the first Armed Forces day, a day that honours the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, and from veterans to recruits.

Our troops are the best in the world - and don't receive enough recognition! This day should have been more publicised and should have happened sooner than 2009!

I shall remember them all today - and raise a cheeky glass or two later tonight! :worship:

our town has a special flag flying all of this week, and a great crowd clapped them all home when they marched through the town, very moving :grouphug:

nice to see a bit of postive patriotic support :thumbsup2

The main event is apparently at Chatham Dockyard which is just down the road from me. The PM & royalty are in attendence, 30,000 tickets were given away. We unfortunately didn't get any but we did see them march through the town lead by the magnificent Royal Marine Band. We really wanted to go to the Beat & Retreat this evening but again tickets went in minutes of going on sale. If I had completed my driving course for the ambulance service I could have got overtime to cover the dockyard today, easy money it would have been too.

I would like to thank all servicemen & women & families past & present who have served their country:goodvibes

I did manage to get a few pics on my phone but having issues transferring them. I did manage to get this one though:
