Layout Challenge #23 (6/25-7/09) - Winner: Simba22!!!!

Hi everyone! I know we've all been crazy-busy with things, so I'm going to run this for two weeks to hopefully give as many people as possible a chance!

I know that people probably haven't had as much of a chance to scrap, so we haven't had many people participating - which is why this challenge is going to be (hopefully) relatively easy.

DBF and I sat down today for a bit and watched Finding Nemo, so between that and the weather we've been having lately (read: rainy), and the fact that summer's here, we came up with what we think is a pretty cool idea!


THE CHALLENGE:
You must make a layout that incorporates water. It can be any type (ex. - beach, rain, puddles, skating, pool, Splash Mountain, etc) but it must be prominent in your layout and subject. It does not have to be Disney-related.

You must use at least two pictures....

....andddd.....

you must use glitter! Stickles, glitter paper, embossing powder, stickers, chipboard, glittery gel pens, brads, Glimmer Mist, anything I've forgotten - just use it somewhere, to liven up something!



The winner will be drawn randomly by my boyfriend the evening of the 9th, and they'll get something to be determined. He and I are going to a scrapbooking yard sale at our LSS this Saturday, and we're going to see if we can find something there - either outside or in the store.

I bet - do you remember the April Fools Day storm back in 1997?

That was the coolest thing ever - I was knee-high to a grasshopper back then, so needless to say, I was basically covered up in snow. We unearthed our newspaper a foot down into the snow that day.... only because I was attempting to sled across our garden so that I wouldn't get stuck.

I picked up my photos the other day, but I've been running around like crazy trying to get ready for company that's coming up (I have no idea who these people are - they're college friends of my mom's) and my dad's birthday that I've only been able to formulate some ideas in my head. I'm going to try to get an hour to do it tomorrow, so hopefully that will happen!

ETA: We picked up some pretty awesome stuff at the store!!! He even said it wasn't as bad as he thought it was going to be... he was pointing things out to me. I'm starting to get a little worried.

I just picked up pictures today that are of the kids last summer on our home made "water slide"! And I got a bunch of new Stickles not too long ago that are beggging to be used! We will be away next week so I don't know if I will get it done before we go. If not I'll post it when I get it done.

It's my brother and sister. And then the girl in the plaid shirt was my friend who came with us for the week.... she doesn't like the beach much... :rolleyes1


Since there's a week left, do you guys think you'll have time to work on stuff (because I know I procrastinate but end up getting something done) or do you want me to extend it a bit longer for vacations and other things?

OK here is mine..... the white spots in the two pictures at the top is RAIN! It was POURING the night we went to the P&P Party at MK. The water was ankle deep and there were frogs all over the main walkway right under the monorail.

all of the frogs on the paper have glitter but some are just light so you can't see it in the picture. i wish my scanner was big enough for a 12 x 12 page!

Here is mine. The title and accent are blue glitter paper. The bottom boarder is made from two strips of white glitter inked on the edges. The journaling is in glitter pen and I used skittles for brads.

Here's mine. I used the same title as Ann, and glittered the sploosh, and boy did it sploosh! The picture on the bottom right opens to reveal a naked booty photo and my journalling. M didn't want me to share the nakey shot ;)

Thanks! I love Stickles - those cute little bottles of joy! The waves are from Life's A Beach, and I just stickled following the wave shapes.

I must not have had any of TinkerBean's killer frozen daiquiris when I did that page :drinking1 - otherwise, there'd be blobs-and-squiggles-a-plenty!

After you hit edit, look near the bottom of the new box in a box and there should be "go advanced". That will take to where you can edit the title.
