I LOVED Captain EO! I have a Hooter stuffed animal somewhere in my garage. I was a huge MJ fan as a little girl (my first...well really only celebrity crush).

If you google "Bring back Captain EO" you will find some petitions in progress. Go sign those too.

I also liked EO at the time. But I would have a HUGE problem with a show starring a pedophile at Disney. I would boycott it, and probably send a letter of protest. JMHO.

Just what I was thinking! I can see the media release now:
"For a limited time, Captain EO, starring Michael Jackson, drug addict, pedophile, and child endangerer! And, now, for the first time, in tribute to a great talent, we promise a child abuser in every row and a box of free uppers to everyone over the age of 18!"
UGH.
No thanks!

I would sign it, MJ was awesome in his heyday! My girls like his music too, whatever issues he had in his personal life they were his and not mine to push off on him or on my kids. I don't think it will work but here ya go...

Not rude at all...honest.
If you sexually molest children, dangle your children from hotel balconies, and use thousands of dollars of drugs a day you (and your fans) shouldn't expect people to feign ignorance under the guise of being "polite".
Don't excuse evil just because someone was talented.

This was not intended as a thread for people to talk negative about someone who recently passed, but to celebrate his music and artistry.
If you don't wish to sign this petition, no big! Please start your own thread if you wish to discuss something you only know half the story about.
I do not "forgive evil", not for anyone or anything, but I also do not leap to judgements of people I know about only through the media.
Thank you.

I don't think it's the image Disney wants to be associated with.

I agree completely. All anyone knows about the whole thing was what the media told them. People shouldn't judge something they know NOTHING about. Who cares what the media says! They all tell different stories and none of them have direct facts ever anyway.
I'm all for Captain EO's return

In all fairness, I believe Captain E.O. is pre-pedophile days, allegedly! I'm all for the return of Captain E.O., pedophile or not. Back when I was in an animation program, we studied Walt Disney's fascination with butts and butt humor in his older cartoons. There's quite a bit.

I am staying out of some of what has been brought up, but I do want to point out logistically this movie should never be brought back. The issue is that it is dated work. In order to bring it up to date they would have to do a lot of work and possible refilming which would be pretty difficult.
I think when Disney finally gets off their bums and replaces HISTA (which is only slightly less dated then Captain EO and Star Tours) they will have to do so with something pretty fab. and with something that uses the amazing new 3-D effects or more we have available today. Or hope of all hopes maybe a new ride, which Tomorrowland desperately needs!!!
Captain EO was fun in it's time and maybe should be released as a DVD but brought back, sorry I think it would be a mistake personally.

Good news, there's a DVD on eBay and for only $40 bucks . And a VHS copy, the images of the DVD look legit. Plus there's a listing for the Captain E.O. boots, and the bidding starts at only $10,000 :woohoo:.

Actually Jermaine Jackson wrote a tell all book called Legacy..... it was soon put away and never spoken of again. Latoya Jackson also wrote a tell all book but was soon saying it was a lie ( the family made sure everything was hushed or you wqere outed ! ) both recant all they said, but again I believe it was because they could not stand being ousted from the family.
both claimed Michael was gay, ( not an issue) but also into children. )
