Can't really see the point in them starting again on-line (although it is really Shop Direct who have just bought the Woolworths trade name). There are already plenty of established on-line stores and websites that they will have to compete with - and to be honest they have not got anything different to offer.

As for the Pic 'n' Mix - can't see the point in doing it on-line. You can get the same sweets from any shop or supermarket without having to pay £1.50 delivery (if you spend under £5) and waiting for them :)

I used to like the original pick'n'mix with the wrapped sweets. The best time was when real quality street was put out and I could carefully select the puple ones and the green triangles and not have any toffees! (It's not pick'n'mix if you can't select each individual sweet!)

I'm a bit gutted, I've just had a look at the new site and there is hardly any character clothing (my ds is crazy for Ben 10). I know you can get character clothing in the supermarkets but Woolies was always the best place for quality.

i must admit i think the online pick n mix things a bit daft, surely if you're in need of a foamy banana you want it NOW not delivered in 2 days?

I want my Woolworths to be re-opened.

Ours is still empty but it's rumoured that it's going to become a Carpet Right:sad2:

We do have a Wilkinsons just 2 doors awayfrom the old Woolies that seems to sell all the stuff that Woolies did.

But the Woolies that closed wasn't the same as the one from my childhood which sold electrical goods (we bought our first fridge from them), had a big cafe and a food department.
