My wife and I just got back from DP on Friday night its the 4th time we have been and as always with Disney we really enjoyed it.
The new park is good but is quite small but they have just started building Tower Of Terror wich should be a real bonus.
We stayed at Newport Bay which was nice but to be honest the rooms are a little bigger, the food at breakfast a little nicer and the decoration a little more plush but otherwise my wife didn't think it was that much better than Sante Fe but my brother -in-law (14) and I thought it was great especially the pool.
We also found on this trip that the quality and variation of mechandise has really gone down hill has anyone else found this or is it just us.
Can't wait till our next disney trip which is Nov 1st 2003 when we are staying at Winward Cay in Kissimmee our first time in a Villa any tips from you extremly clever people would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks for listening, Craig.

Welcome back Craig :D - I would definitely stay at the Newport again - they do have a great pool don't they?
What were the crowds like?

Glad to hear you had a good time, Craig and I'd be really interested to hear more about your trip.

We're Kissimmee villa regulars, so ask away with any questions.

Glad you had a wonderful trip. I am in the infancy stage of planning our first trip to DLP and the Newport Bay has caught my attention. I am curious to know if you know what is considered the off-season and what the going room rates are.

Thanks in advance.

The following unofficial site normally has a guide to room rates:

http://www.dlp-guidebook.de/index_e.htm

My favourite hotel at DLP is the Sequoia Lodge. Nice themeing, good facilities and slightly cheaper than the Newport Bay Club.

We stayed at the disneyland hotel, and to be honest wouldn't gain, we were part of the castle club and paid an additional premium, we had a look at afew of the other hotels and considering Disneyland hotel is supposed to be the best, I think you done well with the newport, I wasn't keen on the now york, and our hotel wasn't so well maintained we could see the rot in the wood, I complained and was basically told get lost, not maintained to the same standards.

I go to florida anyday over DLP it doesn't come close in standards, attractions and staff friendliness, Florida win's hands down.

Welcome Home Craig - glad you had a great time!

Shirley and I stayed at the Newport Bay Club and really enjoyed it there - I would definetly go again (given the opportunity :D :D )

If you have any specific questions on your holiday to Florida - then post new threads and I am sure you'll get tons of replies :)

My first thought for a tip when staying in a villa is:

If you like tea - take your own teabags!
