Hey ladies...

I just wanted to stop by and let you all know that we are leaving on our week long honeymoon. I'm hoping that Danny will let me buy internet access while we're on the ship, lol, he probably won't but I can try! :lmao:

So we leave tomorrow afternoon and I'm hoping that in the week we're gone Randy will have some teaser pics up on facebook. I even showed my mom how to use FB so she could let me know if pics go up, haha!!

I was productive these last few days at home, I wrote all my thank you notes and will be mailing them today. :banana:

So, bon voyage for now... I'll def be updating when we get back, I'm off for the summer so I'll have more than enough time.

Hello!!

So we are back from our cruise and have hit the ground running on getting the condo together.

The cruise was wonderful, tiring and fun. We went to four ports of call, had excursions booked in Cayman, Isla Roatan and Belize. We had a blast but it was so tiring. The ports were all back to back so we didn't have a break but it was fun and we had a great time so the tiredness is worth it.

So what did I miss? :)

Thank you for all the well wishes, they made me smile! Now I'm going to catch up on everyone's journals while I type up my vendor reviews/ratings.

Carol Mickles - 100/10 Carol was so amazing. during the planning process she was always easy to get ahold of, she responded to my emails within a resonable amount of time, sometime within hours of me sending them. The saturday before the wedding (which was Monday) she responded to one of my emails 5 minutes after I sent it, lol. She understood exactly the type of day I was looking for, I wanted fun, not too traditional or formal and we wanted everyone to have a great time. She got that right off the bat and also helped us keep to our budget even when we went over a bit. The day of was great, she was there to squelch any problems, not that we had any, and was always around when I needed her. She made sure our day flowed perfectly and I couldn't have been happier with her performance. I would recomend any person waiting to get assigned their planner request Carol because she did a kick!@$ job!

Laura Kidd WDW Floral - 9/10 I loved my floral, you can see my bouquet and centerpieces in my teaser pics I posted previously. The only reason she gets a 9 is because the colors we spoke about weren't exactly what I got in my bouquet. I thought my bouquet would be more on the darker pink side but I still loved it. I didn't give her inspiration pics so I knew I was taking a gamble. I still loved it, I just expected something a bit different. The centerpieces were amazing, I loved them so much and loved that they were similar yet different from my bouquet.

Rev. Kevin Knox - 7.5/10 I LOVED him through the emails we would exchange and we even tried to meet up while I was in WDW for my planning session but it just didn't pan out. The reason he gets a 7.5 is because if you ask Danny he was great but if you ask my and my mom we were kind of bummed by him. Danny had a great experience with him, Danny tells me that he was fun, talked to him about the ceremony and even did a breath check with him ;) . I on lth eother hand really didn't get to talk to him much. We were running late because we didn't actually get to the GF for pics until after 11:30am when we should have been there by 11 :confused3 oh well. So we started the ceremony 5 minutes late. Rev. Knox came in to the Bride's vestibule at the WP, introduced himself, asked about the balance (I had paid it through PayPal), and then ran through the creremony in like 30 seconds. I mean it was fast!!!!!
Now on to the main reason he lost 2.5 points. I get all this second hand from my mom... after the ceremony and Danny and I walk out Carol is setting things up for the staged exit, my mom says that he shoved the license in her face told her to sign and was gone. I guess that's what he normally does but it just seems so strange to me, I would have liked a picture of them signing the license and it happened so quickly that Randy didn't even know it was happening.

Patricia Lejeune - 10/10 I abosolutely adored Patricia. I can't recommend her enough to future DFTW brides. She is prompt, a joy to be around, and does amazing work. My hair and makeup on the wedding day was beautiul. I loved how simple it was yet still looked like it was done and really held up through the 100 degree heat, and an hour of pictures outside. My hair and makeup on the MK shoot day was just as beautiful. My hair didn't make it quite as long but the humidity at 6am is ridiculous in FL and leaving my hair down I knew it was not going to make it. But it looked great during the pictures so that's what matters. My makeup lasted all day, even through the next day once we were home, lol. It was beautiful, she does amazing makeup.

Randy Chapman - pending at the moment I have not received photos, teasers or anything yet from Randy so I don't know what the pics look like so I can't honestly give hima score yet. I can tell brides to be that he is an uber professional. He was early, even Patricia was like "wow he's WAAAAY early" lol!! He took my getting ready pics, got photos of my dress, accessories and jewelry really quickly and then was gone to take Danny and his family's pics at the boardwalk. It was a close ride because I was staying at the Beach Club. He then met me at the GF for my portraits, was cool even though I was running late and made sure we got the important pictures. From the ones he showed us form his camera they looked amazing and I can't wait for the end result.

Wedding Pavilion - 10/10 We were worried it would look empty because we only had 35 guests but Carol did a great job of spreading people out and making it look full. The organist was awesome. Danny walked in to the Star Wars theme which was hilairous and because it was played on the organ it made it seem like something different but everyone got it eventually.

Ariel's/waiters/bartender - 10/10 Ariel's was beautiful and everything I wanted it to be. The colors we picked worked perfectly with the existing decor. Our teal/black/white was a great complement to Ariel's.
The waiters were perfect, they walked us through the buffet, got everything we needed, had things at the table already before we needed to ask for it. I wasn;t feeling well that day. I had an awful headache throughout the whole day and once our waitress knew it she was all over it! She brough me a coke, and when I actually felt faint because my head was pounding so hard she brought me a towel with ice in it for the back of my neck. They were wonderful. The bartender was awesome. He was heavy handed and people were getting wasted, hahahaha! Danny at the end of the night was totally drunk. It was hilarious!

GF Bakery - 10/10 I never mentioned it at all but my biggest worry was the cake because we kind of choose the mickey delight cake but wanted the mickey heads to be in black and teal. Well they couldn't guarantee that they were going to be stamped on but may be piped on. I had seen some previous piped on mickey head cakes and didn't like them but ours was great. It was exactly what I had in my mind when I first mentioned it.

DJ Steve Weinstein - 100/10 He was a riot, he was fun, and he really got us. He understood the type of music we liked and we even sent him some CDs that he loved and was so happy he now had that music. I loved him and Danny and him became best buddies.

The Big man Mickey Mouse - 10/10 I never realized what a hit he would be, Im so glad we decided to have him. The kids really didn't like him, the young ones especially. They were scared of him. The adults LOVED Mickey. It was awkward at first but he really got the party going when he did the electric slide with everyone before he left. He was great! Did we really expect anything less? lol ;)

So Saturday rolls in and I'm already starting to feel tired but have to power through.

Danny's family got in the day before and they were planning on doing something crazy... all 4 parks in one day!:scared1::confused::eek: I told Danny's sister that they were crazy but they only had one day park hoppers so they were going to do it.

Danny and I met with them at Animal Kingdom. Being the park commando I am we got them straight to Expedition Everest. The waits were actually pretty low for this time of year so we only waited 15 minutes for EE. Danny's mom is a bit of a drama queen so after EE she felt nauseated and had to keep telling us. We stopped to get her a sprite, that she wouldn't drink, and then we realize that she's out in 100+ degree heat and only had coffee. No wonder you feel like crap. We try to stop to eat bc other people are hungry too (me!), but no she doens't want to eat. Whatever, I can't stand her so if she passes out Disney will call the paramedics. :confused3

We then rode Kali River Rapids, got soaked and then they wanted to move on to Epcot. I was going to go back to the hotel to meet up with my mom and cousins so we could hang at the pool. We ate dinner, hung out at the pool with the kids and then left to get dressed to meet Danny and our friends at Magic Kingdom.

This was at about 7. We, my mom and I, walked in to MK and immediately met up with our friends and Danny.

Now, I will preface this by saying, I DON'T LIKE MY MOTHER IN LAW. Danny was with his mom, sister, cousin and friend all day so imagine how he was acting. Just like them! UGH!!!! He was so nasty when we got there. I was ready to leave bc he was being so short and rude. I figured we better start doing stuff so I don't have to deal with him, lol. We rode Space Mountain, the Carousel of Progress, Buzz, danced with Stitch, Chip, & Dale, and then found a spot for the Electric parade. We got a spot right by the castle and waited. Then Danny really pulls out the big "let's annoy Jennifer" guns...

He started questioning wedding things. On SATURDAY NIGHT! REALLY?! :eek: It's not like I can do anything about it now. We get married in a day and a half, what would you like me to do about it now at 11pm at night? I doubt Carol will email me tonight or even tomorrow!!!!!!!! UGH! My mother in law has this big problem with understanding that this is her son's wedding, not her daughter's wedding. She is not the bride, and she is not paying for anything pertaining to this day so she has absolutely no SAY!!! Well Danny didn't want my mom walking me down the aisle. Really? Why? Oh bc his mom wasn't walking him down. SERIOUSLY!! I don't have a father, and no other man in my life was really that influential. Why can't my mom walk me down?

During the planning session Danny was adament that he wanted to walk down by himself and his mom could walk in with his sister. ADAMENT!!!!! Now, a day and a half before the wedding you're questioning this?! Ummm, no! This changes the whole order that we have down on paper. Not happening. (Later that night I pull out the BEO and show him exactly what the order of the processional was. Ha!!! In your face!!)

But then I realized that wait... I know where this is coming from. He was with his mom all day... the same women who still doesn't understand that she doesn't have a say in how our day goes because this is not her wedding! The same women who seems to want the same thing my mom gets even though she's not the mother of the bride and has not contributed even a tenth of the items and money my mom has. I couldn't even list what my mother gave us because it's so many things. Now why would I feel obligated for my mom to walk me down and now for Danny to walk down with his mom? Hmmmmm.

I just can't get over the fact that it's a day and a half before the wedding and my MIL doesn't get that this isn't her daughter's wedding. It's mine, and maybe if she tried a bit harder to get along with me I'd feel differently but I DON'T! She makes me want to curse... even now and the wedding's over, lol.

We watch the parade and then back at the hotel I pull out the BEO's and all the paperwork I have on the timeline and processional order. I'm so upset at him and he doesn't even understand why. His mom wants to have everything my mom does and that's not how it works. I can just imagine what she was saying all day to him about me, the wedding and my mom. I know she doesn't like me but Saturday when our wedding is on Monday is not the day to do this.

Sorry for the rant in the last post but you can see how riled up she gets me.

Now, Sunday, June 13, we had a breakfast scheduled with my family and Danny was off with his friends to the last day of Star Wars Weekend. Danny was gone early in the morning so we said goodbye knowing we wouldn't see each other again until the ceremony.

Then mom and I were off to the Beach Club where we were having breakfast at Cape May Cafe with my aunt, uncle, cousins and my other aunt. I wanted to take everything with us because we would have checked in at the Beach Club and dropped off all our stuff. My wedding dress, my mom's dress, my overnight bag and my mom's overnight bag. Not too much stuff but it would have been easier to just make the one trip. Well... I guess not. My mom was just in a mood. She didn't want to leave our stuff with bell services just in case something happened, or if they lost something... UM WHAT? So we go to breakfast, I go to check in, I am informed that we were upgraded to concierge and go to get checked in there. Our room was ready (of course it is!! Like I said it would be) but we have nothing to put in it because now I have to make a bunch of trips to our other room, then to the car then to the other hotel. And of course my mother is just being so annoying. And all this in 100+ degree weather. Thanks mom, we could have just avoided this but no, let's make 3 trips back and forth at noon when it's the hottest!

I think Danny and my mom were in with each other just to annoy the crap out of me.

So we finally get settled in to the room with all out stuff and I send out my emails and texts to Randy and Patricia letting them know what room we're in and how to get up to the concierge floor.

We relax for a few, then off to get a manicure. It was the worst manicure I've ever had, and the people were so rude. I will warn anyone against Magic Nails on Vineland right by the premium outlets. I usually go to The Nail Place and that's who I normally would recommend to everyone here on the boards but we were right by Magic Nails. Oh well, live and learn. And they;re ridiculously expensive. I mean $25 for a manicure with french? I pay $13 at home for that.

Back to the hotel to get ready for the DP. The DP was beautiful. The mosquitos were awful but they only came out right at the end of the night. I should have brough OFF. It looks like you guys had soo much fun! The pictures came out great! Congrats!! It was fun. Danny was iffy about paying so much for the shoot but he was so happy when he realized we drove into the park through the back and that it was empty except for workers. He loved it.

Your MK pictures turned out amazing! You got a ton of great shots. I love the ones of you leaned against the pillar by yourself - your face is beautiful! And your DH looks like he had a great time with the shoot - he has some great facial expressions (e.g., the fear in haunted mansion lol). Sorry that you had the stress with the MiL just before your wedding. Weddings either bring out the best or worst in people. She obviously felt threatened or insecure and a bit jealous which led to some need to try and manipulate things (again). Try not to let it annoy you when this happens, I always try to feel sorry for the person as they cannot be happy and keep repeating to myself 'act with grace and dignity' to remind myself to keep my cool and see it for what it is.

Thanks ladies for all the well wishes. The surgery was a success, my neck feels so much better than it did before now I just need to have the same surgery on the left side of my neck sometime soon and I'll be perfect!

Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things and post the wedding day sometime today after I go to the social security office to change my name.

So after the dessert party the night before my girlfriends went to meet up with the guys who were at the ESPN bar. It was late and I had a long day so I decided to skip that so I could get some sleep.

We get back to the room, set out things for the next morning and go to sleep.

I wake up at about 6:30am so I can shower, wash my hair and dry it before Patricia arrives. She was suppose to be at the room by 8am.

Patricia arrives, I go downstairs to the lobby to take her upstairs because we're in concierge and you need the key card to get to the floor.

She sets up and gets right to work. Randy was set to arrive at my room by 10am, but he was very early (Patricia was shocked, lol, she wanted to be ready before him), like 9:15am early!! He started snapping away.

I'm sorry, I forgot to answer the limo question.

I requested black limos. My planner told me that mears ony has white ones but that she would ask. I HATE white limos so this was very important to get black ones lol.

She couldnt confirm it so I was very pleased when I walked out of the beach club and saw the black limo.

Thank you!! The veil was a last minute find at another dress store my mom had gone to for a MOB dress. I saw it and fell in love, even though I already had a veil I was happy with I needed to have this one. I'm so glad I bought it because it was beautiful!

I was so happy with our colors at Ariels. They really did look great. I was very happy with the sashes on the chairs because they really gave the room a texture we didn't have.

I had always wanted Mickey in his traditional outfit. I didn't like the formal attire and the purple didn't match my colors, lol!

We had a Wishes Desssert Party at Sago Cay Pointe at the Grand Floridian. It was actually the Summer Nightastic Fireworks but because I didn't pipe in the music it really didn't matter, lol.

We chose menu 3, which included white & dark chocolate fondue, fruit, other dipping items and assorted pastries. You'll notice danny wasn't in any of the pics... that's because he and the boys were out drinking and watching a game at ESPN Zone that night instead ;)

So I have a few favorites from our Magic Kingdom shoot and thought I'd share them here since they are no longer available on the website. I hate that it expires :(

I have the proofs at home and I finally bought an album for them so hopefully sometime soon I will put them in it and actually have the pictures out instead of in the box that they were sent in.

I also have a confession to make... I've been married for almost 8 months now and I have yet to select the MK pics I want for the album that's included. I know, bad Disney bride, shame on me. I finally found the proof book a few days ago and plan on doing it this week :rolleyes1

They're not the best quality but they are the best I can get for now. I'm trying to see where I can find the cash to buy the CD before 3 yrs, lol. Without DH finding out ;)

So, a few people had asked about our wedding day album that I made on blurb.com.

It took me FOREVER to sort through the 5000+ pictures Randy sent us on 4 CDs but once I did, i uploaded the 200+ pictures I wanted to include in the album and got to work setting them up. I like the templates Blurb offers and it made the process very easy. The longest part was sorting and uploading. Once everything was uploaded to blurb I just had to drag and drop into the page templates. I didn't do anything too fancy but I did make an album that everyone in my family is in love with.

It's a hardcover imagewrap, meaning there's no dust cover like in the preview I'm going to link for you. When I get home I'll upload the pictures I have taken of it so you can see exactly what the cover looks like.

This is not a WDW honeymoon so I won't be doing a full trip report, i'll just give you a quick taste of what our cruise was like.

Given that we paid for the entire wedding ourselves we really didn't think that we would have enough money left to have a honeymoon. We didn't want to stay in WDW after the wedding because we go to WDW a lot and to us it's not really a vacation, lol.

My mom and aunt were nice enough to give us $1000 between them both for us to take a proper honeymoon. With that money we booked a Carnival Cruise on the Valor. It's a 7-day cruise leaving from the Port of Miami. We left WDW on June 16 after our MK shoot and this cruise left Miami on June 20, 2010. It went to (day 3)Grand Cayman, (day 4) Isla Roatan Honduras, (day 5) Belize, and (day 6)Cozumel Mexico. There was a day at sea on day 2 and 7.

Danny and I love crusing. It is relatively inexpensive for such a long vacation and it includes meals. We ended up booking the cruise for a little over $1200 including taxes, gratuities and port fees. We had a past guest discount and it saved us about $300. We booked an inside cabin, we like the cave-like feeling :rotfl2::thumbsup2

Day 1 - Since we live in Miami my mom dropped us off at the port. We like to arrive at about noon because it takes about an hour to 2 hours to get checked in, processed, and on the ship. Today was no different, it took FOREVER, the lines were super long and everyone was running on slow and stop. Once you passed customs/security, there were two lines on the left and right, we chose teh right and got in line. We had to fill out health forms stating whether we were healthy or had flu/cold-like symptoms. We were fine (thank goodness). Then the hurry up and wait process.

The Carnival terminal in Miami has been renovated and is HUGE! They now have self service counters where you scan your ID/passport and they will check you in like that. We used one of the self service machines, went to another counter to pick up our sail & sign cards and were off to the ship!

We first went to our room on the 8th deck, then went to the lido deck to eat lunch. I love buffets on cruises, lol, I like being able to choose several small things for lunch instead of one meal. After lunch we went back to the room, called family to say bye and passed out :confused3 something about the cold dark room just makes me tired haha! We did make it out for the sail away party but forgot the camera. Dinner that night was interesting as they had us sitting in a 8-top with 3 other couples. Two of which were also on their honeymoon. We had requested a table of our own but could not be accommodated until the next day. Yes, we're antisocial, and besides we order way too much food to be sitting with people :lmao:

Day 2 - This was a day at sea so we slept in as late as we could, ate, laid out on the top deck, and ate some more. I mean what else is there to do on a cruise, right? ;) I did start reading a book, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner... yes I'm a twilight person, love it (dont' love the actors so much but I do love the characters and books). It's a short one so I also brought the first book in the True Blood books, Dead Until Dark. When we went back to the room we had a card letting us know our table had been changed to a private one, yay! This was formal night so we got decked out, Danny wore his wedding suit again with a different shirt and I wore the dress I had on when we got engaged. It's my favorite dress, I think it's my fave because it makes me look like I lost 20 pounds, lol.

Day 3 - We weren't set to arrive in Grand Cayman until 9am ship time so we woke up, had breakfast (Danny had food, I just picked, I'm not a fan of breakfast). We booked our shore excursions with an outside company. We used www.shoretrips.com. My cousin had used them for a previous cruise and was very happy with them so I felt comfortable booking with them. They really are accommodating. We booked a three excursion package and it came out to $300 for both of us. The same excursions were going to be close to $600 if we had booked them through Carnival. The only draw back is tht the excursions are on Island time, not ship time so every excursion started about an hour to two later than ship time but it's easy to keep track of.

In grand Cayman we booked Sting Ray city and snorkeling. Our tickets gave us explicit instructions on where and who to meet. We had to take the tender to the GC port and meet a guide with a sign for a certain company. Once we met with the guide we boarded a small bus and were taken on a small tour of Grand Cayman. we stopped at a small marina to board a boat that would take use to sting ray city and snorkeling.

The driver left us with the boat operator who was sooo cute! he had a hot Cayman accent and was super tan. Very good looking ;) The boat ride to sting ray city was a bit long so we chose to sit up on the top deck.

We arrived at Sting ray city after about a 30-40 minute boat ride. The day was beautiful and hot, perfect for swimming. We stripped down to our bathing suits, and jumped in the water. There were boats everywhere with other tours so it was kind of crowded. Our boat driver hopped right in and started spreading out squid to attract the sting rays. THEY ARE SO HUGE!!!!!!! I was freaked out, clung to Danny the minute we got in the water and had an attack every time one got near me. Another couple was near us and the woman was just like me, freaking out.

I was so scared I couldn't stay in the water very long. I jumped out after one brushed my foot 3 times and wouldn't leave me alone. I'd had enough, lmao! Danny was in heaven, he loved this kind of stuff.

After sting ray city we went out a bit further on the boat and found a snorkeling spot near a large reef. The fish were beautiful. I swam around for a bit then got back on the boat for some punch (the alcoholic kind :drinking1) and to rinse off. The water was starting to get very choppy because there was an incoming storm. I of course get sick, puking on the side of the boat :sad2: But once it passed I felt fine.

We made it back to port with a little time to spare and did a little bit of shopping. Danny and I like to collect magnets so we bought a few cute ones (one says "RUM, breakfast of champions" lol!). Then back to the ship! We were hot, sticky and tired but we managed to go have lunch and then knock out for a few hours. Vacation makes me so sleepy. I never nap but when i'm on vacation it's like I can nap anytime anywhere!

Day 4 - Today was Isla Roatan Honduras. We had booked a zip lining canopy tour this day. We got off the boat, wandered around the port a bit then made our way out of the terminal to the line of tour operators outside. The terminal is owned by Carnival so they do not allow independent tour operators inside, we had to trek out and meet our tour guide. Now let me say this... the island is not very pretty but don't let that deter you. The walk from the terminal to the car was long and hot. And remember that this island is all rainforest and quite small. There are dense forests all around you and of course BUGS! Giant buzzing bugs!!

On the walk out I almost turned right back around and ran back to the ship because a HUGE black/blue bug flew right past my face, it's wings clipped my cheek. It was so big. I lost it, pitching a fit and practically crying. I'm highly allergic to bees/wasps/yellow jackets... pretty much anything that stings, and I have a major fear of insects because of that. I carry an epi-pen everywhere because I could swell up and die in a matter of minutes. Danny had to talk me down from my panic attack and we kept walking. We finally meet our guide who takes us to the car and we wait a few minutes for other members of our tour. We wait a half hour and no one comes! Our driver decides we've waited long enough and we're off.

The town is small, full of life and the roads are bumpy. The ride is about 45 minutes up the side of a huge mountain. There's ocean on one side and rainforest on the other.

At the Roatan terminal is a small outdoor activity set up that is run by carnival. It's small and the only Carnival offered excursion that includes zip lining in Roatan. they do offer zip lining at another port on this same cruise but it's only 5 platforms and over very quick. Our zip lining tour had 11 platforms and was amazing considering it was only $100 for both of us.

We arrived, checked in, got our wrist bands, and got geared up. They put us in a harness, doubled our caribeeners (because we're not skinny people :rotfl:) and then set us off on our first line. It was short and not that high up... like a beginners line, lol. Our two guides were hilarious and so much fun. They joked, took pictures, and made us all feel very comfortable.

I know, I can't believe it's been almost a year. It's crazy how fast it's passed. We just came back from our anniversary/star wars weekend trip.
