Kelly, the Vow Renewal packages are booked through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons department only. You can call them at 407-828-3400. They will only book the packages a year or less in advance of your sailing date. :D

Kelly,
My DW and I will be renewing our vows on the Magic during our July 6th cruise. I plan to prepare a trip report on our experience as soon as we get back. Look for it!
btw, it will be 22 years for us!

We were just on the Magic and took a tour of the kitchen. They had just finished decorating a wedding cake and it was absolutely beautiful. I didn't know they even did weddings on the ship.

They don't. They do them at Castaway Cay. But I'm sure they do all the food prep work onboard.

SK, I'm anxiously awaiting your return. I can't wait to see your trip report. So far you're the only DISer who has/will be having a renewal onboard (besides us). Congrats on the 22 years. That's a rarity these days. It will be our 20th when we renew ours in September. Where can we get info on this..(prices) Kelly, the renewal through FTW onboard is $1,099.
14 weeks until ours. :)

Renee',
It's surprising with all the people on this board and all the great information I've been able to gather about DCL, yet, no one could give me first-hand info about the vow renewal program.
Well, I guess someone has to be first.
I'll get a trip report up ASAP. However, we'll be staying down in Orlando for a week after the cruise. Sorry, don't look for anything until the weekend of July 20th.
Congrats on the 20 years. . . Not too shabby!:smooth:

Storm...you're killing me. :) How nice that you're not leaving immediately after you disembark. It won't be so bad getting off the ship.
Kinda cool - you get to be the "premier renewer".
Have a great time!

I thought that I heard that you can get married on Castaway Cay and renew vows only on the ship.

That's right! As Dave noted above, the DCL wedding ceremonies are held on Friday at Castaway Cay. I assume that if the Magic can't dock at Castaway Cay because of weather conditions, the wedding would be held on the ship.
The Vow Renewals are held on Thursday afternoons on the ship. Ours is scheduled for 5:00 p.m on Thursday, July 11th. Since our anniversary is July 12th, we tried to get the ceremony on Castaway Cay that Friday (7/12), but DCL said NO - only weddings!

I assume that if the Magic can't dock at Castaway Cay because of weather conditions, the wedding would be held on the ship. FTW told me that they cannot perform "weddings" on the ship only renewals. An actual wedding must take place on land due to international waters, etc. So if you are getting married during the cruise and you cannot dock at Castaway Cay your ceremony would take place back at the terminal at Port Canaveral.

Hello,
I just got married on Disney Cruise Lines less than four weeks ago so hopefully, I can shed a little more light.
Regarding weddings, all the legalities are now taken care of at Port Canaveral prior to the ship sailing. Our marriage license show our sailing date as the date of marriage and is issued by the State of Florida. I actually prefer it this way. The ceremony was held at Castaway Cay, Bahamas. By having the marriage legal prior to sailing, if the ship can not dock at Castaway Cay, the bride and groom can still hold their ceremony on the ship!
For those getting married or re-newing your vows, have a wonderful time!

How interesting. So it is a Florida license. Did you have some sort of civil ceremony? It sounds like, legally, you were married when you boarded the ship.

Yes, we were legally married prior to the ship leaving Port Canaveral. A private civil ceremony was performed at the terminal. Our guests had no idea that all the legalities were taken care of already. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day at Castaway Cay. However, it was definately less stressful, as again, if the ship could not dock at Castaway, a ceremony can still take place on the ship.
