Just noticed in Barb's Western report that scoops does not serve hand scooped ice cream any more. Well, what does it serve, and how do I warn my addicted husband he won't be getting his "fix" on the cruise?

Scoops has soft served ice cream, vanilla and chocolate flavors, I believe. You can have toppings put on also. They also have a tray of fruit for you to help yourself as well.

Its great now, they have soft serve which I like much better than the hand packed..plus you can get nice toppings!

Does Scoops have fat free yogurt or fat free icecream?

If you are a handpacked junkie (like I am), you can get that in the diningrooms.

Scoops serves yogurt, not ice cream, but it is very good. It could have been a lot colder as it melted pretty fast. It is served up on deck 9 by the pools and it is free.

Like I keep telling my 2 children..."It's NOT free, it's INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE CRUISE" !!!LOL!

And my kids keep saying back to me, like last night when we went out to get ice cream at the local ice cream stand. "Mom remember when we were on the crusie and the ice cream was free?" I can't help but to say "yes, wasn't all that free ice cream fun." Then they started talking about all of the other great FREE things. :D

Oh well.

LOL - true, but on the Golden Princess we had to pay for the ice cream! But to be fair I should also mention that it was Hagen Daz ice cream and they had all kinds of sundaes, etc. which were around $5.00 or more. On the Voyager of the Seas it was self service, freely dispensed and "free" . It was in the mall on the ship and my 14 yr old grandson that we had taken with it thought that was the most wonderful thing ever that he could help himself whenever he wanted it. :p

I am always amazed when cruisers are surprised when ice cream melts in the sun when the temp is around 90 degrees. I don't think there is enough Disney Magic to keep it cold under those conditions!

Being a resident of Florida I know about ice cream melting in the sun LOL...we were in the shade standing next to scoops and it was melting by the time he handed it to me.

I didn't realize it was Frozen Yogurt! I thought it was Soft Serve Ice Cream. I wish they would bring back the hand packed. :(

I think one reason they did away with handpacked was because of the time it took to make each cone/dish. I was lucky enough to be onboard when they did have handpacked but the lines took forever. Soft Serve is much quicker. JMO.
