OK, I've seen this type thread for September, October and November. December folks, it's our turn.

We're arriving Christmas night, leaving January 2nd. Anybody else booked yet for December?

However, if we can't get there in time due to DS finals, we are booked at the Dolphin 12/19-29...no free dining, but the room total is substantially less..so it's all good!

There are a couple of other December threads out there but that's okay. I never tire of posting my dates. :thumbsup2 It help makes the time pass since this trip has been booked since January. :eek: I've never planned a trip this far in advance before.

We will be arriving late on the 18th so we will be staying at The Royal Plaza for the night then check into POR on the 19th. We check out of there on the 24th and check into SOG and then we leave on the 27th.

There is free dining for December, but it is a pin code and disney has to send it to you via email or postcard. It has a specific pin code for your name only, so no one else can use it or share it. They send these randomly from their database- i've never received one in all my 20 plus years of going to WDW, this is the first one we ever got and it was in my DH's name to my mom's address (postcard)- weird!? We recently got Disney VISA cards and ordered the custom maps on the disney website- i think maybe that triggered something with our name being updated in the database? who knows. how they choose who they send pin codes to is a mystery. The free dining we got is good through 12/17. (i forget the starting date- after thanksgiving though), plus there were some dates in late october/early nov). However, they only allow a certain number of these discounts to be used per resort, so even if you get a code, it isn't guaranteed it will be available at the dates/resort you want. We just really lucked out this time.

I would suggest ensuring you are in the disney database- go to their site, order the planning DVD, do the customized maps etc. so that it shows activity under your name/registration. who knows if that helps or not, but can't hurt, right? :confused3:rotfl:

It saved us $3000 since we applied free dining to 3 of our 5 rooms (10 days worth of dining for 7 adults and 3 kids)!!!!

We are there 12/10-12/20, 5 rooms at WL. Already have our MVMCP tickets for 12/15 and can't wait for December hours. I assume they will be out around sept 1. We can't wait- see you guys there!!!

We're going December 2-6, staying at All Stars Movies. This is our first time staying on-site and going to more than one park over more than one day. We're technically going for my birthday (Dec. 3rd) but we're celebrating all of our birthdays. DS will be 5 on 11/19, DD will be 3 on 12/11 and DH's bday is on 12/28. We're planning on doing 3 character meals (Princess Storybook, Crystal Palace & Chef Mickey) and one sit down meal Rainforest Cafe on my bday. (Can you tell I like my bday much?lol I'm touting this as the cheapest trip we'll ever take to The World, since DD will still be under 3 and DH is Active Duty Navy, so he's free & DS and I will get the $99 rate- woo hoo!

We're going on Christmas Day and on New Years Eve. I have never been for the holidays and I am looking forward to the experience. We are staying at Pop Century on Christmas Eve only (we have a winter house in Venice). Can someone suggest somewhere good to eat to see fireworks in either Epcot or MK?
