I would really like to get a waterproof camera for our upcoming DCL trip - especially since we will be snorkeling. To go along with that, I would really like the Canon D10 but just cannot spend $330+ on a camera right now.

While doing some searching, I came across the Stylus 550wp. I am wondering if anyone here knows anything good or bad about this camera. If you have one...I would love to know what you think about the photos (both in and out of the water).

If you recommend a different cheap waterproof camera that takes good photos in and out of water, I would love to know.

Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Jen

I recently got the Olympus 850SW. haven't had a chance to actually swim with it yet. (If it would get above 60 degrees out, I'd consider it! :) I did mess around sticking it in the pool and was happy with the results.

I'm keeping it in my purse to have onhand times I don't lug my Rebel around. It takes decent enough pics in good lighting conditions. It does not like low light (alot of noise.) Since my primary purpose was water sports though, not too worried about it.

I actually got it at LLB outlet, of all places. (11 cents more than Walmart, but sweet guarantee!) I recently saw it was in the outlet section of their website too. (I think $225?) Other places are cheaper, but LLB is local/easy to return to should anything happen to it.

(this is a half sunk Playmobil pirate ship. Only thing going in the pool these days!)
