This guy was at our Pride parade yesterday. He's from Brazil, and he made the garb all by himself. He was a very sweet man. I have no idea how he walked down the street with the 50mph winds.

C'mon now, MM. :teeth: It isn't the "on" bit that you really liked. ;):upsidedow

It is a fancy get up, that's for sure. ::yes::

Lost track of Pride this year. Is there anything going on in Orlando (or went on). I've been gone so much for work, that I have lost track of what's going on in the local world. :sad2:

Orlando Pride starts October 8th, and I just saw Ari Gold is going to be the headliner! I love him!

Now I have to message him on Facebook LOL

Thanks ConcK. I've just been told I must be losing my mind, thinking that it was in June. Gotta' love those wives, eh? :teeth:

So I'm busy! I forget things! :teeth:

Nice website. Ari Gold, eh? That will be something to see! I really have a lot of respect for him. Unlike some gay folk who are "celebrities" he makes the issues of the gay community part of his life, and his concern. ::yes::

I wish they had a bit more info on the volunteer aspect. We might actually want to give some time to that, but have no idea what we'd be volunteering for.

Anyone here planning to go? It's early yet, but...

Would be nice to see the Pride festival and the FWF gay weekend coincide, yes? :teeth:

I'd like it better in hot pink.

My daughter Zena was in the Portland Pride this year.
She was overly dressed compared to your Brazilian friend. ;)

That and he has a beautiful voice!

Here's his video "Wave of You." It's a tribute to the late Herb Ritz (the person who directed "Cherish" by Madonna, "In the Closet" by Michael Jackson, and several other award-winning videos), and features all gay and transgendered actors.

That's the weekend of DH's birthday (October 9th), so that might be a fun way for us to celebrate. I agree on both the volunteer part of the website (although I think it's just a lack of things being finalized) and the F&W festival.

He marched in front of us, so I'm not sure if the strong wind had any effect on his featheriness. If it did, and I missed it, I'll be very upset.

Pink?? It would've added too much gayness, and the crowd's heads would've exploded from sensory overload! Besides......our uniforms were pink. :rolleyes1

Was Zena "overly dressed" as in "business suit", or as in "thousands of feathers"?

As for the rest of you, trust me-you wouldn't want to see me wearing anything like that in my current physical state. (MM has lost 24 pounds in the past 2 months.)

Hey! That's serious! I'm so sorry. I know you've been sick, but are you under a doctors care? 24 lbs in two months is a great deal of weight.
I don't think our Disboard healing thoughts mojo is working.

 And I appreciate it, darlin'. I just haven't been eating nearly as much as I used to, and with the color guard rehearsals 2-3 days a week (which I probably shouldn't have been doing despite the meds making me feel 100% better) I dropped quite a bit. I have another doctor's visit in a couple days, which will hopefully wrap everything up. :cheer2:

She does look deliriously happy, Rosie! ::yes:: Glorious in youth and gayness and how can you beat that?! :teeth:

MM, I don't know where you started weight wise, but 24 pounds for a diabetic to lose is pretty indicative of something going on, hey? If you could "afford" the pounds, ok no so scary, but if you couldn't... that's what the doc will have to look into. Stay safe now and good luck with managing that very complex condition.

In February and March I was the heaviest I'd ever been (around 230), but then it slowly started melting away......until May, which is when it started melting away a little too fast. (Maybe I'm just melting. :scratchin) Now I weigh as much as I did when I was 21, and I hate it. The job I just applied for (and was pretty much guaranteed) should afford me some better "dining options" in the near future. Now, WHERE'S THAT BBQ???! :woohoo:
