You said it Helen! I told my dd they are all the same, they just look different!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: . My clothes have been out for weeks, dh tried on his tux last night---well he actually tried on 4 of them, and picked one! Okay, so now he has one night covered!:thumbsup2
Try SP for Spain??:confused3
I called DCL regarding this a couple of weeks ago, and told them I just put my address, and they said that that was okay. They're more concerned with meeting flights, etc., if we need to do so.

I know I am pages behind - but I have also heard you must have a 4 digit pin code. My son had no problem with his debit/Visa card in Italy and the Bahamas or my other son in Mexico.
Also, the 4 digit code cannot start with a zero . . .

I got the impression as well that they want a list of peoples outgoing flights for priority disembarkation for people wanting to get to the airport quickly

They seem to forget about us Brits.

Thanks guys - sorry to rant but with one hand they will happily take our money, but forget that there is life beyond the states.
Im going to leave it for tonight - my back is sore with sitting @ this computer and also a 6 yr old child head butted me today - it was an accicent but it was full force -ow!
Going to get a cuppa - just a bit grumpy

At least Im trying :confused3
Still no joy with on line checkin. No system keeps booting me out.
I have phoned DCL ( Which will cost a fortune, there advice was to put in anystate) They also told me to phone DVC with my flight details.
Just come of the phone with DVC - given them my flight details,
Its sooooo frustrating
sorry rant over :flower3:
I've found DCL's Email support to be excellent - easier in some cases than dealing with them by phone.

Just got off the phone and our travel docs were also sent out on Monday 2nd day UPS. We are in Las Vegas so hopefully someone will be posting they received their docs soon.
Still looking for anyone with information about booking a tour to the Chocolate factory in Barcelona on Friday July 27th. My DD really wanted this tour but we couldn't get it through Disney on embark day.
Can someone who ordered T-shirts put a picture up for the rest of us? Are you putting a pocket size Rome-ancing Mickey on the front and the tags on the back?
We did a trial run yesterday and actually had some extra room in the suitcases, I'm sure we are forgetting lots of thing so I'm going to get out the packing list again.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

When we leave the ship we are staying one more night @ the AC barcelona.
I've tried putting this down for the online checkin - but it wants me to fill in a state!!!
Anyone any advise?
:headache:
I just put in California for the heck of it since it was a required field. I hope they are smart enough to figure out that if the ship is docking in Barcelona Spain that we are staying in Barcelona Spain....Although not having received the documents yet makes me wonder.

QUICK QUESTION RE PIZA.
I made a booking for climbing Piza for Saturday 4th August 2007.
Its 7 tickets The tour starts at 15:00. However they put the order through twice and charged me twice. I need 7 but have 7 spare.
Now I am in contact with them seeking a refund, and should get this, but is anyone here interested in them instead?

Hi as we have new people on the thread just thought I would post this info again.
We are planning a meet to watch the magic Fountain show in Barcelona.
The Magic Fountain of Montjuic -Barcelona Photo Guide
The magic fountain of Montjuïc's first performance was on May 19, 1929 during the Great Universal Exhibition. The designer Carles Buigas submitted his plans one year before the exhibition and many thought that the project was too ambitious to be created, let alone completed on time.
Over 3000 workers were commissioned to work on the project and less than 1 year later the magic fountain was born.
The magic fountain is a spectacular display of colour, light, motion, music and water acrobatics - if you mix all these elements together in just the right combinations, you end up with pure magic! The magic fountain is a "must see" when you come to Barcelona and highly recommended
see http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/albums-en/magic-fountains-montjuic/
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f94/MrsJobba2/fountain2.jpg
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f94/MrsJobba2/fountain3.jpg
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f94/MrsJobba2/towerfountain.jpg
The plan is we are going to meet 22:15 at the towers (by right on I think?) So we can all watch the 22:30 show togerther.
Where is the magic fountain?
Metro: Placa Espanya (Green Line, L3) and (Red Line, L1) To get to the "Magic Fountain", you should take the metro to Plaça Espanya. Then, head toward the twin towers.
This is the link to the offical website - http://www.bcn.es/fonts/ there is a web cam link that coincides with the performances. There is also and English button !
So are you interested - we have a group going for dinner @ the 4cats restuarant before hand and also a group meeting @ the grandmarina hotel. But we all plan to meet up at the towers.
Just out of interest - Could you PM me if you are planning on meeting up @ the towers 22:15. I can then make a list of who to look out for. Thanks
Helen x

That's annoying, getting charged twice -- I actually thought I had seen someone asking for tickets to climb the tower in Pisa, but I just looked and couldn't find it (maybe I dreamed it!). I guess you should just try to get the refund for the second set unless someone here speaks up.

Welcome, lots of information is on the first page, post 1 has links, post 10 and 12 lots and lots of information.
Welcome to the Brits cruise! we have taken over!
Don't say I didn't warn you all!!!
Welcome Ian

Hi, today was productive as far as preparations for the cruise is concerned.
Ordered EUros
purchased 4 rolls of quarters for laundry
Pedicure and tan appointments for 7/25
Car windshield replacement appt. ( inspection sticker expires 7/31 and we won't be here so must be done early)
Final packing list complete
Not bad for 1 day :cool1: :cool1:
Also, DD13 got her braces today and learned she needs 2 teeth pulled in the next 6 weeks:sad1: :sad1:
5 loads of laundry
cleaned the bathroom
No wonder I'm tired.
Visa/Debit/Atm information???
I have a visa debit card with Bank of America and they told me it should work fine in an atm machine in Europe. Does anyone have 1st hand knowlege as to whether or not this is true?
Is the 4 digit not beginning with 0 accurate for the pin? BofA didn't say anything about the 0 just that it had to have 4 digits.
Now to vent. My friend still hasn't come home to take care of her dog.    HE's very hot, it's 90 degrees and humid and he's an eskimo dog with lots of fur. She told me she was coming early. I'm very upset. HE's in pain and shaking. I know there is nothing I can do,but I'm mad about it. I don't understand how you can treat any pet this way. I know she's in denial but I was quite clear on the phone about the seriousness of the situation. I'm keeping him company when I can but it bothers me that she's not taking care of him.
OK, thanks for listening. I'm done now and I'm going back to sit with him for a little while now.
Sandra
Sandra,
I would be upset too. They will be home tonight? At least you know you did the right thing.
T-shirt update:
OH WELL, IT GOT KICKED BACK FOR COPYWRITE.
I emailed them to see if they could print the back with the names If they could print the back , I would do an iron-on on the front. I'll keep you posted.
Congrats on the MAJOR pirate: Julie.

Sandra
I can't believe they haven't come for their dog! I have two (Belle and Linus!) and couldn't imagine it.
Bank of America visa debit card worked for me last year in Germany and the Czech republic . . . they were the ones to tell me that I needed to change my PIN to something with 4 digits, and also that it shouldn't start with a zero ("naught" for this Brit cruise) because some European ATMS don't recognize it.

Sandra,
I would be upset too.
Maryann
I was afraid it was too good to be true---same for me. Remember when we first started with the lanyards and dh worried about copywrite. That is an issue for a business to deal with. I guess it will be iron on or nothing. We can all walk the plank together!pirate:

Ordered EUros
purchased 4 rolls of quarters for laundry
Pedicure and tan appointments for 7/25
Car windshield replacement appt. ( inspection sticker expires 7/31 and we won't be here so must be done early)

Not bad for 1 day :cool1: :cool1:
Also, DD13 got her braces today and learned she needs 2 teeth pulled in the next 6 weeks:sad1: :sad1:
5 loads of laundry

No wonder I'm tired.

Wow! You, go girl! What a day!
Just how far away did these people go on vacation? Are they on the cruise before us or what?? I just cannot imagine that someone would be as kind as you have been and then to call to let me know how ill my pet was that I would not travel all night to get home to take care of it. There is just no second guessing anyone, is there?:confused3

Dh and I just recovered from a migrain as we took his car to the garage for what we thought was a minor repair and just as we had picked up our euros yesterday the garage called to tell us the part was $1,500. Thank goodness I had the euros in hand at that point!:sad2: It was the air conditioner clutch so he told them to forget it, he would do without air because it would be another $1,500 to put it on! After a sleepless night, he thought he had purchased an extended warranty and when he went to pick the car up today he told the mechanic about it---sure enough, he had one, and it is covered---now wouldn't you have thought they would have checked that first???:scared1: I guess not if they thought they could make about $3,000!!!
Thanks
Helen x

We plan on going to a beach in Sardinia on our own, so you might want to think about that. My options are open -- I have heard that you can take a bus from just outside the port for about 1.30 euros each and get to a beach; Cala Sabina is accessible via train and sounds lovely; and if I was able to negotiate a round trip taxi deal at the port I might go that way. Regardless, unless it is raining we will be headed to a beach that day.

I called BofA and they told me it will work fine in France but they don't have a Global ATM Alliance with Spain or Italy. It will work but there will be substancial fees. I'll cange my pin number to fit the criteria you've mentioned. I'm also calling all of my other banks and credit cards to see if they are any better. So far no luck.

Interesting! My personal opinion is that it is always going to cost something to exchange money, so I don't get too worried about exactly how much it will be. One tip is to figure out the largest amount you can get out per day (and they may be able to up it for you if you call) since some of the fees are per transaction regardless of amount -- then get that amount out and see how long you can make it last. B of A also was able to give me some euros ahead of time so that I am not having to do it in the Barcelona airport, but I'm not sure how much of that is the location of my branch in Manhattan and how much is bank policy.

Do you have a Charles Schwab account with checking? Wells Fargo had also told me that they could expedite an ATM card with a new checking account - you can always open up a new account just for this trip and then close it or keep it for "special European occasions":cool1:

I'm just thinking that if B of A doesn't have a relationship with Spain or Italy there is no way they had one with the Czech Republic, and honestly I didn't think the fees were that bad when I saw the totals when I got home. Of course the Czech kronin were so devalued you felt like you were rich anyway -- I had a massage in Prague for 700 Kronin but it turned out to be about $45! We had thousand bills, even 10,000 I think . . .

I have a question for anyone who knows. We have a flight at 10:55am the day we return to Barcelona, I have heard that some people are taking taxis and some are getting a service. I was wondering if anyone recalls from other forums whether there are enough taxis at the port? Are they big enough for 2 Adults and 2 Kids with lots of luggage (Van)? Or are we better off trying to find something before we go? We leave for London next Wednesday the 18th, so time is running short..... popcorn::
Hope everyone is well and having fun packing. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Lisa, from Toronto :hippie:
Lisa, in general the cars in Europe are smaller than here, but I have heard that there are some larger taxis. However, with your flight leaving at 10:55, you might want to think about reserving a car service, just for peace of mind (our flight leaves around 1PM, and is going to Paris, so no extra check in going overseas, either). Look at these:

Julie,
We ordered Euros today from BofA. THey will be here on Thursday. I just checked with AAA and they have a AAA Passport card that is a Visa Atm/ debit card and can be used in any Visa Atm machine in the world. It costs $4.95 to activate and you load it up to whatever you want and then use it at any atm machine for a $2.00 fee. This sounds like the best option for us. I checked and it is accepted in every city we go to and has a finite credit limit because we put it on. Also, when we get back AAA will transfer the money back to our bank account without any fees.
I haven't spoken to DH, but I think that is the way we will go.

Depends on your definition of substantial. BofA is actually pretty good according to this table (http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/cc/20050624b1.asp). $5 plus 1% means that for a $250 exchange you'll pay about $7.50. That fee is waived if you use one of their global alliance ATMs (Barclays UK, BNP Paribas France).
Seems to me following the standard recommendation for international travel (use ATM's, and take out money in a few large blocks rather than numerous small ones) should work fine.
I've traveled quite a bit with my BofA ATM card and while I haven't had it work in every ATM, I've generally had no trouble.

Leslie, thanks for the information. I guess it is semantics and you have to have the right wording to be told about the 7% fee. I'm going to check out my CU and see how they deal with international ATMs.

Hi Ian!
Welcome to the DIS & welcome to our cruise. Some of us have met on other cruises, some of us have met in small get-togethers (called meets), and others, like me, have only met virtually here in this forum (soon to be rectified in a little over 2 weeks).
On the first page, first post, you'll see links to an excel sheet with our names (those of us who shared), cabins we're in, etc., link to a powerpoint with deck plans showing what cabins we're in, and a link to a word document that has a packing list. Also on the first page, you'll see posts by Andrew Derek UK that has a lot of info about us - who we are with pictures, excursions we're going on, get-togethers (called meets), and more information.
I think it's safe to say that we're looking to make friends on this cruise, and make it a most memorable experience, so just jump in - a lot of people have excellent tips, friendly advice, humor, and friendship that they, errr, we... are eager to share. :)
Here is a summary of things we've discussed (most assuredly incomplete, but here goes)
Lime green: Official color of the DIS. People use ribbons, Mickey paint chips (Home Depot), t-shirts, etc., in lime green to recognize each other (this is done at parks and cruises
Recommendations:
* Lime green ribbons: Put lime green ribbons or have something lime green during Cruise and at meets prior to cruise (AnnaS - Anna)
* Glow necklaces: Preferred color lime green, however, any color would work - to wear when we meet Friday night and when we go to the Sailaway Party on Saturday night . (salliep - Sallie)
* Local gift bag worth $15-$20 with something from your area - to be exchanged at DIS meet (one per DISer/Family)... If you just want to come to the meet and not exchange a grab bag - that is fine! The idea is for us to get together and meet each other, and develop that friendship that makes going on a cruise even more special
* Decorate doors with artwork, images, etc., that will make your stateroom unique. No tape, however, doors are metal, so magnetic sheets are fine. Eeyorelvr10 had idea to have a plastic sleeve protector & attach magnets to it, then just put your decorated sheet of paper in it. MrsJobba1 is going to laminate hers. Some have shared their creations on this thread.
* Fish extenders outside staterooms
* Small, nominal gifts for fish extenders (optional & gifts can be anything - just for fun)
Here are a couple of samples what a fish extender looks like. Some people have been able to find these at the local dollar store, some people are making them. I got a couple of 6" canvas bags that I'm going to attach one on top of the other & we'll decorate & hang from the fish outside the stateroom door. (Different, but I couldn't find anything like the pics below & I'm not very creative)

Important components of the Packing List (Sandaneli - Sandra... made after weeks of ideas pouring out)
List of things to do:
*Make fish extender, buy fabric, figure out pattern actually sew
*Make door decoration, buy magnet, download pictures or "scrapbook" image somehow put image on magnet, test magnet with image attached
*Buy green glow necklaces
*Buy lime green ribbons to tie on clothes
*Buy extra TP to start rolling. Let's see 2 people times 6 shore visits = at least 12 rolls, then there is the supply for those not bringing or rolling
*Purchase/make or otherwise acquire hundreds of things for fish extender disboard gifts.
*Purchase extra luggage for said fish extender gifts
*Get part time job to pay for hundreds of fish extender gifts and overweight luggage charges.
*Purchase 2-4 white tshirts and iron on transfer sheets for printer to make 2 tshirts to wear on cruise to be identified by other dissers. (extra shirts are for mistakes)
*Make tshirts and then make them again when the first ones don't come out because I will have forgotten to reverse the printing. (I know me).
*Locate and purchase items of local interest for grab/swap at DisMeet.
*Print out family photos, coordinate with names and make booklet with names matched to faces so I don't totally blow it and call people by the wrong names.
Here are some documents that you might be useful:

(This actually reminds me of the time that I got the bright idea to dress my ds as a mummy for Halloween when he was in 3rd grade (I think). I wrapped him up in toilet paper, and when I ran out, I used paper towels. I'll never forget the image of him sitting in the car on the way to school with his arms sticking out (think of the little brother in his snow suit in the movie "A Christmas Story"), and then shaking his head and saying, "I'm not very happy," with tears in his eyes. OMGosh, I felt like such a terrible mommy!! I called work & told them we had a domestic issue I had to take care of, and then went to the store & bought a ton of gauze. I dressed him up, and of course, as the day wore on, the gauze was falling off -- he got the award at school for the best homemade costume. He ended up a happy little boy that day... but the image of him sitting in my car w/paper ripping everytime he moved... it's really funny ....... now)

Sandra,
I just want to extend my sympathy for your friends. Last vacation I was on in December my cat came home with a slashed abdomen. Now he's a very expensive tabby cat - but I was very lucky to have someone look over him while we were gone and take good care of him. Even if he passes away when you are not there - the kindness you are showing now is surely felt and appreciated. I'm always amazed and the complexity of my dog's emotions and her capacity to love and feel. I know that I would want to be called if anything happens to my girl. I'm glad they have you and your family to look after him.
I'm danfromca's sister btw - been too swamped trying to finish work so that I can get away for vacation. Looking forward to meeting all of you.
Roan
Hi Roan - :welcome:
As a fellow owner of many aussies - I know what you mean. Aussies sense things, and their faces seem to show different emotions.
Can't wait to meet you.

Hi, I did the online check in over several days. I had no problem doing part one day and part another. The only problem I have and still have is the flight info. DCL still has not fixed this. (ie we are flying into London and they do not have this as an option at all.)
Hope this helps!
:headache:
When we leave the ship we are staying one more night @ the AC barcelona.
I've tried putting this down for the online checkin - but it wants me to fill in a state!!!
Anyone any advise?
:headache:
:rotfl2:These are the problems I have been complaining about for months now.
To fix the airline issue - call DCL and they will enter it for you. If you booked through DVC - call DVC, they will put you on hold while they call DCL. Stupid - yes, but the only way.
To fix the hotel issue - same thing, or ignore it.
I emailed their tech dept - and got back the standard reply of "I'm so sorry this affected you....blah....blah....blah please email me your info and I will add it." So I did that, letting her know I booked through DVC. She quickly had to back up and tell me what i already knew - call dvc. But not once was there any mention of fixing this. I even offered to do it for them. Or at a minimum I would gladly come work in thier QA dept.

Thanks for the heads-up Suzy. Next step - the mall.
Does anyone know if you burn the images to CD and bring to the custom T-shirt store or will they upload from a flash drive??????? Dan?????
May be this is an attempt to make nice because they fouled things up for months!:rotfl2:
Maryann
I called a local store. Normally they could take a CD or USB drive, but at our particular store the guy said he was having trouble with his hard drive. Didn't call the one in another local mall yet.
Might want to check into the AAA Travel Card again - I remember reading that it wasn't such a great deal. I did a quick google search and came up with this: http://www.frommers.com/cgi-bin/WebX?13@85.e05VbB2cu2s%5E0@.eed7de8
Good catch. I looked at the AAA site and couldn't find any information on the exchange rate markup even in the fine print.
I think I'll stick with my Bank of America ATM - it's always given pretty decent rates in the past.

Thanks Julie, I will look into this..

Dan, have you used your BofA card in Spain or Italy? When I spoke to the Customer Service department they said it could only be used in France but many people seem to be saying that they have used it in other countries. Maybe they are like Disney, if you don't like the answer, call back, wait on hold for 20 minutes and maneuver through countless menus and try for a different rep with different answers.
I'm beginning to think we'll just try to purchase the right amount of Euros before we leave and then won't have to worry about getting more money while there. It's giving me a headache.:headache: :headache: :headache:

At least Im trying :confused3
Still no joy with on line checkin. No system keeps booting me out.
I have phoned DCL ( Which will cost a fortune, there advice was to put in anystate) They also told me to phone DVC with my flight details.
Just come of the phone with DVC - given them my flight details,
Its sooooo frustrating
sorry rant over :flower3:
Rant all you want - that's what we are here for. It just annoys me that you should have to go through all of this, when I know a few people have complained, and the fix is quite simple.
OK - I have to put in that Disney is one of our customers. I have done work for them in the past, so i know what database system they are using. I don't know exactly where they get the software for the websites, as we are an enterprise software company. (ie. Payroll). But the bottom line is that if you gave me ten minutes this problem wouldn't exist.
They seem to forget about us Brits.
That was the exact basis for my arguement with them. I said "I personally know of many brits that will be on the cruise with me. Do you expect them all to take the train to Paris to fly to Barcelona?"
I agree from the UK its the only way I communicate and they often answer within 24 hours.
I agree their staff that gets the emails is much more helpful than their phone staff.

Congrats.
Sandra
Wow - you are a busy little bee. My son needs braces too. My MIL recommended getting them before school starts so he gets used to talking before then. I have just been too swamped, and he was supposed to be on vacation until the cruise.
I'm so sorry that your neighbor has not come home for their pet. You are in a really tough situation. When our Indiana Jones got sick, we rearranged all of our travel plans to take him with us. We knew we only had weeks left. So we knew those would be the best weeks we could give him. Our attitude was "what would I want, knowing I only have 6 weeks to live?" and then "ok - now, I'm a dog, and I only have 6 weeks, besides a gold fire hydrant, what do i want?" He got massages all the time at Petsmart. He got to go fishing, camping, long car rides. It also allowed us time to tell the kids and let them come to cope with the idea.

We applied for the kids passports about 2 weeks ago (before you panic we don't need them for this cruise) and today we received letters from the Office of Customer Service
US State Department
Washington, DC
1. I didn't know the State Department had a customer service department!:confused3 :confused3
2. Since when do you get notification that they have received your application. Is this new?
Sandra
#1 - Sorta Ironic isn't it?
#2 - Didn't happen for us. But we got the kids in January.

I have not, however the card works on Interlink, Plus and Star networks - I have no doubt the card will work somewhere...
I remember the bad old days - my first visit to Japan. There were all of two ATM machines that would work with my card, one at the airport, one in a department store in Tokyo. Last time I was there they worked everywhere.

Well, we are going to open another bottle of wine that will be on the cruise. DH gave me 5 bottles for mother's day. These are the wines that Disney has selected from Spain, France and Italy just for the Med Cruises. THe first 3 bottles were great, I'll let you know how it is tomorrow.
My neighbors came home at about 8:30. I haven't spoken to them yet, but they have taken Frosty to the vet.:sad2: :sad2:

Not at all - just imagine them going to school in the finest Italian leathers and wools, or French and Spanish... well, whatevers, and (of course), Disney cruise attire.
So you don't really have to do all your back-to-school shopping before the cruise, just the part that you want to be able to afford without taking out a third or fourth mortgage :rolleyes1

That's annoying, getting charged twice -- I actually thought I had seen someone asking for tickets to climb the tower in Pisa, but I just looked and couldn't find it (maybe I dreamed it!). I guess you should just try to get the refund for the second set unless someone here speaks up.
I just read on another thread that someone ws looking for tix that same day. I think it was one of med excursions thread in the trip report section. I will look and see if I can find it again. It was a guy, I didnt recognize his name from our thread.
Thank you I am seeing if they will refund as I think its there mistake.

I tried at both cafepress and zazzle and got rejected by both for "copyright issues".
Has anyone else found an online place to make the shirts?
I would love to but I'm afraid I wont have time to iron on or go in person.
If you look at your charger, you'll almost certainly see the input voltage as 100V-240V. That means all you need is an outlet adapter - you won't need a voltage converter. An outlet adapter is a plug that is compatible with the foreign outlet on one side, and the U.S. plug on the other. UK and Barcelona have different outlets - not sure what the Barcelona one looks like. You can get international adapter sets most anywhere including radio shack, brookstone, and even at the airport.
Done. I encourage everyone to download the latest tag list which includes this update and others.
I've upped the resolution on the back so it's more than enough. The front is as good as it gets, but should be plenty.
That would be my expectation. Most local malls have at least one T-shirt store that does custom graphics. Chances are you can convince the person there to ignore the copyright issues for a few shirts.
Ok Thanks Dan!
OK for any locals - just returned from The Block at Orange. I ran into a store called Identitywear custome studios. Basically a small custom print t-shirt. I explained the situation about the logo, being Disney, how someone has contacted DCL about using Mickey IE - our banner - and how they said as long as its for personal use and not for sale, its a case of don't ask don't tell. They will not harass. So that being said, I explained the sitations and the logo to the best of my ability and the guy behind the counter said that they can do it - if you use their t-shirts it'll run roughly about $25 (actually just under but round up) and that all I had to do was bring in the image on a cd. It takes about 24 hrs but they can sometimes get it done in the same day.
For anyone local - or even far away, I will post the store's info - they said that I would just have to sign a legal disclosure saying I am not selling these for profit. I double checked and asked - no problems with using the Mickey icon - and he said no - I can just sign.
If anyone is interested, although this would have to be done quickly, I can take an order - there is no discount until after about 25 shirts. But at this point, beggars can't be chosers.
Their phone number is (714) 978-6000.
Cool - just checked out their flyer and they laser imaged a pair of pants - looks coold. Their motto? You name it we can brand it. T-shirts frun sm-XL and he said they will shrink down about 1/2 size but he doesn't want to be pigeonholed just in case they don't shrink down enough.
If anyone would like me to see if they can do this sometime this weekend I can go back and have them see the image. If not - there is another custome shop that is more local to me that I can check.
They also have a website at IDWEARSTUDIOS dot com. Hope this helps someone. I may decide to go back and if I do - I will come on here and ask if anyone wants one - I may just have them do one and see how it comes out.

Just to let you all know I'm still here. I've only been able to ketchup and lurk as life is just tooooooooo busy to get any decent computer time.
Yesterday lunchtime I dashed in to the center of London and got DH a new suit and then spent yesterday evening alering the trouser leg length and jacket sleeve length instead of doing 'holiday things'
Ethan has his end of school concert tonight, we've got Joshua's new secondary school parents meeting tomorrow and his school leavers concert next wednesday. I need to alter 4 pairs of trousers for the boys before I can pack them. We got all our toiletries at the weekend and I'm planning on getting the EURO's this lunchtime. I've also completed our family London gift bag and I've got the basis of our fish extender all I've now got to do to it is decorate it. Still haven't started packing :scared1: I need to cancel our DCL excursions for the days where we've now got private trips booked and I need to change the details of our Barcelona airport taxi pickup as we're now coming into Barcelona 24 hours earlier. I've also got the get the group t-shirt images to my shirt printer and organise that.
Still haven't been able to complete our online check in due the Disney's complete incomptinence.
Has it been decided when we are going to wear our group t-shirts. Are we all going to wear them en-mass or is it more af a momento thing ?
OMG sooooooooooooooo much to do and sooooooooooooo little time left. Hopefully I will survive the next 15 days and I'll get to meet you all in Barcelona :woohoo: :woohoo:

Just to let you all know I'm still here. I've only been able to ketchup and lurk as life is just tooooooooo busy to get any decent computer time.
DH is going for a job interview today, this will be the first in his entire life as he's always been self employed, so yesterday lunchtime I dashed in to the center of London and got him a suit and then spent yeserday evening alering the trouser leg length and jacket sleeve length. All good luck thoughts gratefully recieved.
P.S I forgot to say that I'm also working full time up to 4pm on Thursday 26th July !!!!!!!!!!!
Wow - I am now tired for you too ;) I feel the same way - there seems to be so much to do - or should I say - our everyday life events seem to really keep us busy and leaves time for everything else. Don't you feel sometimes that you are the only one running around? I would not mind a day here and there where I have absolutely nothing to do, no appointments, no shopping, no picking up, etc. Nada.
One day and one thing at a time. Good luck to your dh and your ds.

How do you set up a blog. IT sounds like a great way to keep the kids updated since they are going to be in two different places while we are gone.

Hi everyone! Checking in this morning.
I was so tired last night that I went to bed at around 8 or 8:30, so of course, by 1:30am I was wide awake! I'm now getting ready for work, so will hopefully have time to kind of almost ketchup.
Opened an account at Wells Fargo yesterday & will use that debit card overseas. I'm just really leery of someone taking my regular debit card & cleaning out my savings account. I also ordered Euros, so will pick them up at the end of the week.
I've got as far as PRINTING my packing list, but that's about it. This weekend I'm going to San Antonio to visit my cousin (WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I SAID YES, I'D GO A WEEKEND BEFORE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GO TO EUROPE FOR A MONTH!!!)
CONGRATULATIONS, JOANN & YOUR DH!!
Looking forward to reading the Blog - we're planning on doing one, too - have it set up. Have to learn how to post photos, etc.
I ordered white t-shirts just in case they don't make the border around the logo transparent - we will see.
HAVE TONS TO DO & TIME IS RUNNING OUT. (Just thought I'd share)
Okay, hugs, everyone, toodles -- catch you on the flip side (wherever the flip side is)

I will post this a few times for those who missed the original posts:
Children's gift bags
..... If you would like your child to participate in the kid gift bag exchange, please send me a PM as well post here if you like. I am going to match up girls and boys as close to their ages as possible. So, please send names and ages.
It will be $15-20.00 dollars- one gift per child, those who have more than one child, if this is too much, please let me know and we will change it to 10.00 dollars, although here in the US, 10.00 will not get you much!
Tomorrow is the last day to put your child's/ childrens name in... unless I get even numbers of add ons, then I can continue to match. All names will be put into a bag ( as close as age compatibility as possible) and Carley will pick two names at a time for matches. I will post and PM everyone with their matches Friday morning. I was asked if the kids gift bags need to be location specific. I do not think so, do the best you can, its the thought that counts!!!
so far we have:
Carley 13 (Sallie)

Dan, have you used your BofA card in Spain or Italy? When I spoke to the Customer Service department they said it could only be used in France but many people seem to be saying that they have used it in other countries. Maybe they are like Disney, if you don't like the answer, call back, wait on hold for 20 minutes and maneuver through countless menus and try for a different rep with different answers.
I'm beginning to think we'll just try to purchase the right amount of Euros before we leave and then won't have to worry about getting more money while there. It's giving me a headache.:headache: :headache: :headache:
Sandra
After reading everyone's suggestions and speaking to people who've gotten Euros in the past, I went to my bank today and paid for 350 euros.....they will arrive on Thursday............now, question.....is that enough? Is that too much?........if we run out, we will still be able to buy them onboard.......I hope ordering them ahead of time, will remove some of the pressure and worry about this issue!:confused3
DH & I decided this am to order more euros. I agree, it's not worth worrying about finding an atm that works or rationing euros. Cash is probably the most cost effective as we won't get hit with atm/charge card surcharges. Hate to carry it around though. But with money belts and being vigilant, hopefully it will work out.

Same here - had my DD16 figure out her stuff last night. I'll take care of my DS13 and DS12 - whether they like it or not. Very unsure about the knees and shoulders too. I know Rome is the one to be careful of - not sure about the other places. I am not used to the humidity - haven't lived in it for about 10 years - I know I'm gonna melt and I'm not sure how to pack for it (help!!!)
Ditto on the melting.... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Just out of interest - Could you PM me if you are planning on meeting up @ the towers 22:15. I can then make a list of who to look out for. Thanks

Hi helen- We have every intention of meeting at the fountain, however- we arrive in Barcelona from Paris at 5:30pm. I hope to get to the hotel (Andrew's of course),by 7 thinking an hour and a half should be enough time - (but I know should NEVER assume or think for that matter!!) I still hope to check in, drop the luggage and also meet for dinner at 4 gats, but as you see can the time frame is tight, so I have to wait until the final hour to see if we will make it. Hopefully customs, baggage and such will go smoothly, but who knows. :confused3
So, I really do not have an answer or you except that, I do plan on attending, but of course, dont hold dinner if you do not see my propeller !! I am going to talk to Maryann today to see if she will have her cell phone- then I will be able to call her- If some had an iphone I would be able to text or email!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I am staying an extra night when we dock, so if we miss teh fountains then , we will do it when we return from the cruise.

Hi Julie- we may follow your cab on this one- I booked some tour through Disney, but I think I just want to get one swim in the Med. if I can!!

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!
We got our euros. A woman my DH works with just came back from Ireland with $600 worth of euros. We just bought them from her. It worked out great for both of us.
I had to go for the fitting for the dress for my son's wedding. It did not go well. The tailor at the bridal shop would not do anythng I wanted and was not kind about it. Needless to say I picked up the dress yesterday and took it to another tailor who had done work for me before. She's doing everythng the way I wanted. I'm taking my daughter today for her fittng . I'm hoping it goes smoothly.
I also just found out that I need to dig out pictures of my son growing uop because the're doing a slide show at the reception. Between photo albums, boxes of pictures, and cruise stuff my house is a mess!:scared1:
THAnks Julie,
I called BofA and they told me it will work fine in France but they don't have a Global ATM Alliance with Spain or Italy. It will work but there will be substancial fees. I'll cange my pin number to fit the criteria you've mentioned. I'm also calling all of my other banks and credit cards to see if they are any better. So far no luck.
Sandra

I opened a BofA savings account last month and ordered euros and pounds. I got a check card instead of an ATM card with the account. I really wanted an ATM card but for some reason they gave me a check card. Then I was told that unless I used it at a BofA bank there would be fees. No one mentioned about the Global ATM alliance. I asked about the ATM card, but they kept putting me off saying its the same as a check card. Then because I opened a BofA account, they automatically removed my autopay setup for my BofA VISA card, in hopes that I would reset it up with the BofA account. They also made it so that I couldn't reset it up online. They said my savings account was free, but then once I opened it, they said it was free from only a few months. I'm just so frustrated with BofA, I'm closing the account. I got my euros and pounds. I have an ATM card with my credit union and it has PLUS, so I think I will be OK. they said no fee to use the ATM card with them anyways. I just plan on bringing lots of cash.

Ok I've now sent the t-shirt images to my friendly printer. In the past they've printed all my disney WDW and DCL t-shirts that we've worn for various trips so I'm hoping that this one will be ok as well.
I've ordered plain white shirts as I think they always look the best. I'd gladly give anyone my printers details but they are a small comany based just north of london so I don't think that would be any good for you folks over the other side of the pond.

That is annoying! The truth is, you can have a bad experience with almost any company at any time -- just because I've had luck with B of A doesn't mean that my luck won't run out . . . Then again, I'm feeling as though everything is just going to work out for this trip. Even if I'm wrong, isn't it nicer to feel that way now?

Yes, thats true. I just got really annoyed when they messed with my autopay. That was the last straw. But in the meantime, I got euros and pounds with no delivery charge:thumbsup2 . I just feel safer having the cash since it sounds like there will be places that don't take credit cards esp if we just want to get trinkets and gelatto and pizza and.... Plus our private tours want cash. I just hope I don't get robbed. Once we are on the ship, everything will go into the safe and I'll feel better. So the only place I'll be carrying money around is in London and Barcelona.

Congratulations, Harole Ann, You win the cruise ticket lottery!
I called TA yesterday and she said they wouldn't be in until Friday. She probably just said that to keep me from calling every day.
It 's hard to believe that we leave two weeks from tomorrow. I was shopping this morning and picked up 2 sweaters for evening or over air conditioning and a little jacket to wear with the dressy clothes. I am most comforatable at 80 - 85 degrees so most places are cold to me. Later today I'll get the toiletries and then the shopping will be complete until we start to pack and realize all the things we forgot. Although the lsit MaryJo did was very helpful.

I just spoke to my neighbors, they came home last night and had some time with him before they took him to the vet. THe reason they were so late was the kids. They didn't want to leave the beach and thought if they didn't go home Frosty wouldn't have to be put to sleep. In the end thier son wouldn't come home. He just couldn't face it. I don't think I would have allowed that but it's not my child or my dog.
Anyway he is out of pain now and I'm thankful for that.

Thanks for the advice Andrew but I've now sent 5 emails and made 3 phone calls and still they can't sort it.
I'm just so fustrated as it just saves time rather than doing it all manually when the doucments come and then sorting it out when we check-in in Barcelona.
I emailed my U.S based TA today with all the flight and hotel details along with all the correspondance back and forth with DCL to see if he can sort it so fingers crossed but to be quite honest I don't hold out much hope.

I'm off now as we are heading over to the boys school to watch Ethan in his end of year drama production. They are doing a musical review with acts/songs from various musicals i.e Club Tropicana, High School Musical, Wicked and The Cheeta Girls.
I won't be logging in later as I really don't feel too good. I've got stress fractures in both my hip joints so I'm full of pain killers and all I want to do is go to bed.
So have a good evening and play nicely

Thanks for the advice Andrew but I've now sent 5 emails and made 3 phone calls and still they can't sort it.
I'm just so fustrated as it just saves time rather than doing it all manually when the doucments come and then sorting it out when we check-in in Barcelona.
I emailed my U.S based TA today with all the flight and hotel details along with all the correspondance back and forth with DCL to see if he can sort it so fingers crossed but to be quite honest I don't hold out much hope.
The phrase "couldn't organise a p***-up in a brewrey" springs to mind !!!
Know what you mean, wish you all the best, in the end it can be sorted out at the terminal quickly. If you havent completed it by now they might send you the full docs with the tickets, last time as i had completed everything i had far less in the tickets post.

Um - quick question - are we going with white t-shirts with logo or just whatever suits anyone's fancy? Dis green?
thanks -
White will probably come out best, given that even stores use the iron-on technique.
The only really good thing about B of A is that they are everywhere. On everything else they are not terribly impressive.

THanks again for you support during this difficult time for me.
Sandra
Glad that ordeal is over for you and the dog!
Yes - please elaborate. I thought I read somewhere that UPS was shipping the docs. I wanted to confirm this, or is it USPS that shipped them.
Disney told me they were coming 2 day Fed-X and that was on Monday. Today UPS delivered them to me. I think they have always come by UPS in the past.

I agree with you about the dog, Harole Ann. Hopefully, it will all work out for Sandra.
Good for your husband!!!! That was a lot of money you saved, plus you will certainly need the air conditioning if we have more weather like today!
With the t-shirt, did they tell you if there was a problem with the back? I'm waiting to hear about that.
Maryann
Thanks for the heads-up Suzy. Next step - the mall.
Does anyone know if you burn the images to CD and bring to the custom T-shirt store or will they upload from a flash drive??????? Dan?????
May be this is an attempt to make nice because they fouled things up for months!:rotfl2:
Maryann
I took the logo on a disk to our local sport store who does shirts for all of our baseball teams and they could not do it. We bought iron-on transfer paper at Office Max and dh has another project to do. That is one reason I am not going to lean on him too much to get his clothes out...not until he has the t-shirts done!! Then look out!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

What a pain in the neck about the dress - like you don't have enough on your mind. As long as you are paying for the tailoring, why does she care what you want? Glad you were able to find someone else. A good tailor is a wonderful thing!!
We had B of A when we lived in CA. No problems with them. But, I have a girlfriend who used to work for them and she said she'd never bank with them again. We got our Euros and Euro Travelers Cheques (for private excursions) today!!
Yahoo! We have our tickets!!!!!! Let the wild rumpus begin!!!:woohoo:
Congratulations!!!
Harole Anne - please explain, are you saying you received our cruise documents?
I don't think she got your document :rotfl: ;) :lmao: :rotfl: ;) :lmao:

Also, she has arranged transportation from the ship on August 8th to the airport - now I have to scramble to get from the airport to hotel. I thought she was going to do it the other way as she told me she would not the other way around!

Last Day to submit names for Kids Bags!!!!!!!!!!!! I will post matches tonight or early tomorrow morning- I will be out most of the day.

Wow, just got back from lunch time shopping. Got lime green glow necklaces, airborne, Tshirt for our tags and logo (it was only $1.75!, the store was going out of business and had a nice white T shirt left), extra batteries for my motion sickness wrist thingy (boy I tried that out last night for the first time, sent jolts down my hand, I popped out of my seat! and that was on the lowest setting). I decided to go the iron on route after seeing everyone was having problems with getting their Tshirts made up plus Sandra's fish extender looks so nice I wanted to try doing some iron on for mine, if I ever get it made.. I think I just need to finish shopping for my gift bag and fish extender gifts. How many fish extenders will there be? If you see a brown bag hanging from my fish, that will probably be mine.

The new one went back to when James Bond started and before he got his 00, for 007.
It is said to be the best ever, and topical to DCL filmed at Paradise resort Bahamas as will as the Casino in Monte Carlo.,

Hi all, a quick hello.
Just thought I'd share...
If you want to cancel any Disney excursions, then you should do it 3 days prior to the ship sailing. If anyone cancels their excursions while on the ship they'll have to pay for the excursion.

MaryJo, thanks for the reminder. Do you know if you can book excursions at that point? We were hoping to book something that's sold out, if someone cancels at the 3 day point.
Also, does this include spa treatments?

I spent all day trying to get on the website (it was having problems) so I called and spoke to a rep because when I finally got on, I couldn't upload the images. I explained about the copywrite issue and would I have a problem, etc. She explained that if there was a problem a red box or a message would show up either during the order process or in the shopping cart. She said she doubted there would be a problem because we weren't selling them, they were for personal use. OK. I try to upload again a few hours later and I am able to (no red boxes, etc.) but now I can't check out!!!! So I call the rep again who said they've been having issues with the site all day. I again ask her about the copywrite and she tells me the same story as the first rep, she didn't think it would be a problem because we changed the images by personalizing them and we weren't selling them. So, my order is placed. Now we wait and see..........

Our TA makes me so mad!!
DH went today to pick up the Cruise Documents, she says they didn't come in. I find it hard to believe that documents arrive in Arizona and PA but not Boston. When sent UPS 2nd day air on Monday.
Next he tried to book room 5520 the secret porthole room that is showing as available on DisneyCruise.com. SHe says it isn't available and that DCL told her the cruise is sold out. I know that the website is messed up but I doubt they would be showing rooms as available is the cruise is sold out. Today it shows cat 9 and 10 being available.

WE leave two weeks from tomorrow and my list is slowly getting crossed off, of course there seems to be something added for everything that gets crossed off.
Tomorrow is DH birthday party. His BDay is actually Friday the 13th but we're celebrating with a lobster dinner tomorrow evening. Then Friday we are taking DD and DS and DS's father (exH, his birthday is the 15th) to dinner and then to see Ratatouille. Maybe I have lost my mind. Anyway it should be interesting.
We'll definitely need pixie dust for this outing.:lmao: :lmao:

Sandra,
I just took a peak at the DCL website and as you said it is showing room 5520 as being available. I remember back when I was trying to move a coupleof cabins around and called DCL and was toldthe cabin I was asking for was not available. The problem was that I had the cabin "in use" on my web session. Once I cancelled my session the DCL rep was able to acces the room. I wonder if something similar may have happened in your case.
A thought...must you go through you TA or can you just call DCL on your own to change the room?
Good luck and enjoy the dinners.

Ok, the real reason I was here was to copy off the lanyard list, so I know who to give what. Any update on the name tags? Anybody know if Disneylover is doing them? I haven't been around much so haven't been able to catchup on the posts.

But somehow I need to weigh my suitcase. The suitcase seem pretty heavy by itself:confused: . I wonder if I can take it down to the vets and weigh it there?
Anybody there? I am so tired since the dog show, I just want to go to bed early every nite. Guess I'm trying to catchup on sleep too.
Sandra,
I'm looking at the fish extender instructions. How long is the hangar? Is it 24" in total? When sewing it, are you saying put the a stitch line down the middle of it (length wise)? Just wondering how much room is needed to get it over the fish.

Ok I can now share this as I already shared with Sallie - I had a sneaking suspicion that for my upcoming b-day that DH had gotten me an iPhone. Once Sallie came online to tell us how much she  her phone - I popped out with I want one too suspecting that he wouldn't be able get one.
OK as sick as I am - its a game we play. I wait until the last moment only because I'm fickle and then tell him what I'd like. The stuff I REALLY REALLY want (s/a a Borders gift card) I never get but electronic stuff - he can find along with all those hard to get Xmas toys that are hot sellers. So, now, that I opened my big mouth - I got an iPhone.
Now before you all think that I'm a spoiled rich brat, here's the reason I'm not jumping for joy. The reason I  cruises, is that this was the only time that we were out of phone range. No ringing phones 24/7! REALLY! Not one for 7, 11 or 14 days. It was pure heavenly bliss.
Now, since DH found out that the Magic has service - he "felt" it necessary to buy ME the phone. Knowing how I hate phones. (I used to be a secretary that was used to back up the receptionist of 20 lines - )
Anyway, Sallie - I got my phone! I told you that DH wouldn't be able to last. He's like a little kid in a candy store. Now the question is can I hold out on giving him his presents? Our anniversary is 2 days before my b-day - the 21st. I got him one of those safe wallets with the chain attached.
No worries everyone - he won't read the boards. He's too much into his poker shows and sci-fi shows to read on here. He is an off-the-board lurker! :lmao:
So what do you all think? Should I wait and give him his wallet? There is a theme here - for his b-day back in April - he got 2 shorts that did double duty as swimsuits, 2 shirts that will be going to the Med with us and 1 pair or sandals that will also see foreign soil.
Am I just being too practical? Must be the practical one inside me! Do I wait? Do I give it to him? He also lost his Ray Bans on Sunday while waiting at Marshall's for me. So I bought him a pair to give on the 21st but now I feel guilty. To give or not to give - that is the question! :cutie:
eeyorelvr10
07-12-2007, 12:26 AM
OK I'm sitting here looking back and forth from the wrapped iPhone to the number of pages I'm behind - iPhone - ketchup - iPhone - ketchup!
Which one do I do.
Oh and on another note - I just been BITTEN! :rotfl2:
I discovered the new Sarah Jessica Parker line of clothing at Steve and Barry's stores - AKA Bitten. I    the new BITTEN line. All under $20 pr piece and they are simple, classic comfortable clothes. The best part? The capris I bought - in khaki green, grey and brown - weight only ounces and are more comfortable than the ones I was going to bring! :woohoo:
So I just got back from buying even more stuff. At the rate I'm going - between myself and the girls - I'll be bankrupt before the cruise! LOL
Oh well, better clothes than at Wal-Mart with cute sensible style that won't be out of style next summer! Finally - a women's prospective! :cheer2:

Are you taking orders?
Sandra - are you doing the Fish Extender list? I have this wonderful idea and if the list is not too long, I am considering giving a couple per cabin. Once you all see what they are you will understand why I might be passing out 2. Remember all - I tend to think practical!
You all know the baseball mom that brings, carrots and juice instead of soda? Well, the carrots I won't bring but a granola bar and juice - I did. (And raisins were never out of the question!) Guess I traumatized the kids way too much. I was never the cool mom! - but their teeth never rotted out! :lmao: :rotfl2:
There's something to be said about practicality! ;)

I had to leave today at 4 for a nail appt. I was dissapointed because UPS hadn't come yet. And I had football sign-ups until 7:30. I got home a little before 8 - and immediately checked the front door. No docs.
Then just 5 minutes ago I decided to go out the front door to move the car into the garage. And there they were. Strange that he just dropped them and ran w/o ringing the door bell. And that they were delivered at such a late hour.
But who cares? They're here.They're here.They're here.

OK REALLY not braggin here - but would someone like to start up my iPhone. This is the reason that any gift from DH is a two-edged sword. Wonderful gifts but guess who has to figure out how to use it by reading directions.
DH is a he-man and doesn't need to read directions. Me on the other hand - I have too. And since you have to activiate it via iTunes, guess I will have to do it! :sad2:
BTW - its still shrink wrapped. Think I'll leave it to the morning or when DIS goes down for the night. This drives DH nuts - he'd be tearing up the box trying to get at it and then say to me - OK - now what? :rotfl:
I believe that is the other reason why he gave it to me. He claims that last night at dinner, I was prodding and mentioning iPhone and he popped out with - they had run out of the 4gb - they weren't any left.
Then when he realized his mistake, he sheepishly stated - do you want your present early? :sad2:
He tried to blame the Strawberry margarita but really - how can you blame the drink? :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I want to see:
Bridge to Terabithia
Pirates of the Carr II and III
Ratouille
The Prestige
But my only must see is PCIII
I really don't know much about the others except I remember seeing previews and they looked interesting. I never have been able to sit through a James Bond movie since Sean Connery. Have they changed any?
Ratatouille is top of my list.
Don't miss The Prestige - AWESOME film. Not for the younger kids.

The mail stoppage has been ordered (did I tell you about the 30 minute line at the post office???):sad2: :scared1: :scared:
For those interested - you can now submit a mail hold online at usps.gov.
Darn it! I copied the list of people who wanted lanyards, put in in excel and now find I oversold the lanyards by 3. I guess I can't count.
I don't suppose there is anyone out there who is willing to give up one, two or three lanyards from their order?????? I will refund and give you free badge reels in return.
Otherwise, I will need to refund 4kittymagic for 2 lanyards. She was the last to place an order. And then I could give up my lanyard. I already gave out the lanyards I got for my sisters and their families. I probably could convince one of them that they look silly wearing a lanyard. Not sure I can convince 3 people in my family that they don't want their lanyards. Anyone having second thoughts on how many they bought?:guilty:

Hi Izzie - I hope your feeling better. Are your stress fractures going to intefer with you vacation?
On my end, DD14 just announced that she has to go to the Dr's. She has a problem that when she starts to get sick, her sinuses get infected in her neck and she "grows" a ball on either side of her neck. Nothing super dangerous just when she feels the knot coming on I need to get her on meds as that is the only way it will go away. If I delay in getting her to the docs - she comes away looking like her face is totally bloated. And since she has lost about 23 lbs, it is really noticeable. All I need would be for her to be denied entry onto the plane because they think she is contagious.
There was a case over here of a student being refused passage because she was coughing so much they were afraid to take a chance of infecting others. Turns out it was just a cold - as she had told them but the airlines didn't want to take a chance. So since she was on a school sponsored trip - she and a chaperone had to get off. She was delayed in getting back home for 1 day but the parents were so upset she was debating on suing.

Sandra,
I just took a peak at the DCL website and as you said it is showing room 5520 as being available.
Because we originally used a TA Disney won't even talk to us about any changes to our reservations. We tried that in April when we had other problems with DCL and the TA.

Sandra - are you using my TA? :lmao:
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
There's something to be said about practicality! ;)
We must be kindred spirits or long lost sisters. I bring oranges and fresh fruit to soccer and basketball games or cheez -its and juice boxes. Not always very popular but PRACTICAL.
I was also thinking of something practical as a Fish Extender gift. THere are only 15 dissers signed up as of now. I'm not thinking many more will sign up because we are getting down to the wire. I also don't know how many people are in each room or group associated with disser.
The list is on page 878 post 13157 if you want to double check.

Ok, the real reason I was here was to copy off the lanyard list, so I know who to give what. Any update on the name tags? Anybody know if Disneylover is doing them? I haven't been around much so haven't been able to catchup on the posts.
I'm also starting to cross things off my list. I leave on the 22nd for London, so I am really feeling pressured now. I think I need to do a practise pack this weekend. But somehow I need to weigh my suitcase. The suitcase seem pretty heavy by itself:confused: . I wonder if I can take it down to the vets and weigh it there?
You can buy a small scale that hooks onto your suitcase handle, and when you pick it up by the scale, it weighs the suitcase and leaves the total weight visible. This is a good thing to have not only when packing before leaving, but also to take with you since you will be buying things during the cruise and may need to redistribute things to be sure no suitcase weighs too much. You can get one for about $10 at baggage stores, online travel stores (Magellan, etc.).

JoAnn, if you get typing as soon as Andrew leaves, you might could catch him!
:cutie:
Congrats on the iPhone!!!!!!! I know how hard it is to keep a secret when you feel you have gotten someone something really special, so I sympathize with your husband giving it early . . . however, my take on giving presents too early is that it distracts from the enjoyment of the actual day celebrated -- so my advice would be to wait and give him his present on the actual day. Otherwise the day itself might be a bit of a letdown.
Congrats to those who received their docs yesterday (we didn't)!!!!!!

Hi Laura!!! So excited about your phone!! It the best best toy I ever got!!!! I love it so much!!!!! It was sooo easy to set up. All I did was hook the cradle to my mac, set the phone in it, and it came up all by itself and started downloading all my information- my mail, address book, contacts, itune library, bookmarks etc. It loaded itunes which is where it does its downloading from, and then it literally walked me through a 3 step process to Att to get my new number and service. It took all but 3 minutes-!! Each time I set the phone in the cradle, it updates all my info!!! I do not know if its easier because I have a mac, but I couldn't believe I came home with the phone in the box, plugged it into the computer and was making a call 5 minutes later!!!

Last Day to submit names for Kids Bags!!!!!!!!!!!! I will post matches tonight or early tomorrow morning- I will be out most of the day.

Tomorrow is the last day to put your child's/ children's name in... unless I get even numbers of add ons, then I can continue to match. All names will be put into a bag ( as close as age compatibility as possible) and Carley will pick two names at a time for matches. I will post and PM everyone with their matches Friday morning. I was asked if the kids gift bags need to be location specific. I do not think so, do the best you can, its the thought that counts!!!

Ok - here is the story. I put an order in for the tee shirts with cafe Press on Monday. It seemed to go through. Well, I got another email this morning saying the shirt has shipped!!!!!!!! I called Maryann right away telling her the story, and I told her to try it and if it worked I would post. I am now going to let her post what she was told- I think shes on line- I just Pmd her about another mini meet tomorrow!!!!

I am not good at the cut and paster quote thing, so until I master it...
-- Happy Anniversary!
-- Glad to hear the dog's owners have taken over for you - you were very kind to them and their dog.
-- Hope your daughter feels better soon.
-- I am happy to give back some of my lanyards - did I order 12?
-- I thought I was on the earlier fish extender list, but then I wasn't on the most recent one. But then, I haven't made a fish extender, but I could manage the paper bag one but then I would be shamed by my fellow craft DIS'ers.
-- Will we get the matches for the kidswap today? Hoping to get that shopping done asap.

Ok, it took me till this morning to realize that I'm really only short one lanyard. The vendor sent two extra lanyard but some reason I couldn't comprehend that last night in my panic. Thanks to all those that volunteered giving up their lanyards but I can probably convince my hubby that he really doesn't want a lanyard UNLESS there is someone out there that absolutely knows that they don't need one of their lanyards, then please contact me and I will be in your debt, beside refunding you. I also have plenty of extra badge reels if you like that too.
In the meantime, if anyone wants red badge reels, I seems to have 20 extra. I ordered extras just in case some went bad plus I think the vendor added an extra 10 on when I bumped the lanyard order up by ten.

:cutie:
I agree with Bellelinus - my DH even used to hide birthday cards that came in the mail so that on the actual day, I would have lots to open - I say, hold off.

The mail stoppage has been ordered (did I tell you about the 30 minute line at the post office???):sad2: :scared1: :scared:
The last time I filled the card out at the post office and gave it to the clerk they stopped the mail that day, not the date I had marked:confused3 ! Not sure if it would be safe to go on line and do it as our Post Office might not be able to read it!:surfweb: :lmao: :lmao:
