Here's my contribution. I'm inside as DD has either a slight cold or summer allergies and DS did not want to go to the town pool.

So I pulled some weeds out of my flower beds while they were shaded early this afternoon.

This hot weather is raising the excitment level for our cruise.

Just thought I would share in case some of you haven't seen this yet...........Here is a picture of what the embarkation photo background will look like. Just scroll down on the link. I went to Disney shopping and found some nice Disney t-shirts on sale for 3.99. Chuck loves it when I save money by spending it. :rotfl2: So I ended up buying 2 turquoise with Disney spelled in front. That's what we will be wearing.

Depending on how many CC members there are will determine where the reception will be. The receptions are mostly held in Rockin' Bar D, but they have also been held on deck 9 on occasion for the larger groups.

Ok, I need to get my glasses fixed, I first read this as "where" not "when" so sorry about that!!!

A CC reception invitation will be delivered to your cabin letting you know "when" and "where" it will be held.

I just hung up from the Radisson to confirm everyone's confirmations. These are the changes that were made.

Doreen and Mary Rose - I changed your reservation to the group rate since it was at the higher rate.

Darlene - I changed your price also. You have to bring your ID.

Ed - you are confirmed and on the 1030 shuttle.

Everyone else's confirmation that I checked was fine.

It is the Castaway Club Members reception that is held for the returning DCL cruisers. Anyone that has sailed with DCL in the past is a Castway Club Member and will have a special invitation to the reception delivered to their cabin.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. :sunny: (Hope the summer colds and sore neck are healing!!) We took a drive to Knotts Island, NC yesterday (not far from where we live) and picked peaches (yes, I forgot to pack the battery for my new camera! Doh! I wasn't quite as enthusiastic after realizing that!) So what do you do with 10 lbs of peaches, when only one in your family actually eats peaches?! :scratchin why, make peach ice cream, of course!!!! I stress just writing this post since my husband and I are not the most social people in the world. We are fine one-on-one with anyone, but groups of people are intimidating. Anyway...my rambling point is...we would love to meet and talk with many of you but probably won't if you don't approach us. It is just not in our nature to approach people we don't know. So...if you see a family wearing matching tie-dye shirts...that will be us...Anna, Curtis, Lucas, and Trevor.

The last five weeks before our cruise are going to go by really fast....I just made reservations to spend the next two weeks in Tallahassee and Texas on business. When I get back, we'll have less than three weeks to wait. This will be the first time in 7 years I've had to travel on business. This will be the first time I've had to travel on business since my kids were born when they didn't come with me (my husband and I work for a great company that managed to find projects for both of us when we needed to travel so the whole family went together). I work for the same company Dori does...IT industry. I have mixed emotions to be traveling without them...it will be strange not having any family responsibilities...but I will miss them.

Hey Anna,

It's nice to see you posting instead of just sending me side-bars via email. So you guys are pulling out the tie-dye t-shirts for the trip, huh? That will make it easy to spot you. If you need any help meeting folks, you guys should just hang out with me for a while... I'm not shy! (As I'm sure you have noticed over the years.) Devin is looking forward to seeing Lucas and Trevor again. He really enjoyed working with them to help us decorate the office for Halloween a couple of years ago.

So which project are you working on that they are sending you to Florida and Corporate? I know that you will miss Curtis and the boys, but look at it this way... You won't have to cook or clean or keep track of anyone but yourself while you are gone. Even though you will be working, it will almost be like a vacation. Believe I know, I've been to Kentucky twice since the start of the year. (Besides, there's nothing like a short absence to make them truly appreciate how much you do around the house.)
I can't wait for the trip. It's going to be really nice to have so many familiar faces on-board.

I go away for the weekend and you guys go crazy.

Welcome to all of our new posters. Can't wait to meet you all. I have a DS 9 & DD 7.

Terry - thanks for everything. Hope week two goes as good as week one.

I have way too much to do before we go. It is going to fly by. This week I am the only one in my department that isn't on vacation. Should be interesting, and my boss told me that there will be a lot of changes when she gets back. It looks like they are re-organizing the depts and we will have a lot more to do. My neice gets married this weekend so this weekend is shot.

Time to get to bed - Cub scout day camp starts in the morning so we have to be up extra early.

Tina, the saftey drill starts at 4pm.

Promenade Lounge at 3pm on Saturday sounds like a winner to me, that's where we had our meets for our August 2003 and 2004 cruises. It will be cooler there and adults can get an adult beverage if they like!!! :teeth:

Just sounded like you were getting your hands full, which is understandable since you are now back to work full-time & I'm sure everyone is starting to finalize their plans...like me! I really appreciate all you do & hope you have a good work week!

...I didn't mean to imply I haven't been with y'all (got to practice on my Southern drawl) from the very beginning. I have post #15 on this thread and have read every post....well maybe I skimmed a few...and I probably wouldn't pass any quiz about all the happenings in the past 23 months...I just wanted to re-introduce ourselves and hope to meet many of you....and the main reason I posted was to discuss Eagle Ray Divers....if you haven't figured it out yet...I tend to ramble...Thanks for the re-welcomes anyway.

...I better hurry up and get my printer warmed up to make my door signs. <Actually my printer is chugging away printing a 300 page document I have to have memorized for my business trip next week.> Here is my secret....I am printing off the nautical flag letters on magnetic paper and then cutting each individual letter out. That way I can spell whatever I want on my door. If anybody wants the letters of your family name or a short saying for your door sign, let me know and I'll have them when I get on the ship and hopefully bring them to the disMeet if I can overcome my social shyness. I printed off probably 300 letters before the repo cruise and gave them away on the last day. It was fun and made for a great door sign. Here is an example:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/47146A-thumb.gif http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/47146N-thumb.gifhttp://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/47146N-thumb.gifhttp://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/47146A-thumb.gif

Ed, yes there is a limit (figures I can't find the info anywhere at the moment; I think they give you 2 luggage tags per person (not including carryons)??? Hmm, that sounds like alot). But I am responding b/c I also want to point out there's not a whole lot of room for storing your bags.

Hi everyone :wave2:

It reached 99 degrees here in Williamsburg, VA today and I spent the afternoon in the pool with the dog I am watching this week. She is a chocolate lab and I have been watching her since she was a puppy. She loves jumping in the pool after her ball. Finally she gave up and decided it was too hot for her outside and went in the house(thru the doggie door) where it was cooler. When I finally came and dried her off she went and laid down under the ceiling fan and fell asleep!!! What a life!!

I am starting to panic to decide what to bring. I have three suitcases laid out and I am going thru everything I have and they are going fro the I want to take suitcase to the maybe I wanrt to take suitcase then finally the suitcase that will be going!:scratchin

Tomorrow is someone specials' :bday: :cake: (Doreen) and I am hoping she has a great one!

The temperature here today was hotter then on Castaway Cay :beach: when I checked it earlier.

I hope everyone tries to stay cool and drink alot of liquids during this heat so no one gets sick. I am looking forward to meeting everyone!!!

Have a nice and cool evening !!!!

We were told by a room stewart that DCL will no longer will store your luggage bags for you. The change occurred after 9/11. You have to lay them flat under your bed.

Jen......I have a packing list that I created for my family a few years ago. I got tired of reinventing the wheel for each vacation. I just print it out of the computer and make any changes need for the trip. Not big on thinking at times, so this is a big help for me.

Good idea! I had a list last time we cruised, it must be somewhere around here on C drive!! :badpc:

These are soooo darling....what a great idea! We have two cabins for our "famof8". Can you do numbers? Alternatively, Dorny would be great

I will be happy to give you two sets of FAMOF8 if I can figure out how to do the numbers...I am working on it (actually I am having my husband figure it out). Otherwise, I'll do two of DORNY.

We also have 2 cabins and I read somewhere that the beds lift up and you can store suitcases under there. Not sure if thats for all cabins but that would be a great space saver. I can't remember from our cruise 5 years ago if the beds lifted up or not.
Saw a great T shirt the other day here, a little girl was wearing it and it said
"Pirates of the Jersey Shore" I'll have to try and find that one for pirate night!
Also went to a flea market here on saturday and they and really nice short sets, usually for a cruise you would get something nautical looking with blue and white stripes, but I saw a lime green and white shorts set that was perfect. I really know I'm addicted to the DISboards when I start buying lime green clothes!

I have to have packing lists otherwise I forget the obvious......like forgetting to pack ski poles on a ski trip......or one DCL cruise I forgot to pack DD's underwear, even though I had crossed it off on the packing list indicating that I had "packed" it.

Yes, I was able to buy children's underwear on the ship.

I have a handwritten packing list for going to the beach that makes me chuckle everytime I look at it. I list which restaurants to go to and which restaurants to avoid. Next to one of the restaurants to avoid I wrote down "trust me on this one" just to reinforce that I should never go back. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi everyone :wave2:

I posted a thread out over on the regular cruise board, asking how they set up the tables for DISers who are linked. Here's the thread, if anyone wants to take a look: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1167673

I know that several of us late-dining DISers are linked, but will they put us all at one big table, separate tables, put only some of us together at tables??? :confused3 I'm wondering if we should make table requests?? I haven't counted how many of us on late dining are linked. Who here wants to sit together and who doesn't? I know that cruises will usually put you at a table with another family anyway, so it might as well be with other DISers :teeth: Anyone want to specifically request tables??

Doreen: We're fine with dining out in the main dining room at Palo. We have a reservation for 8:30pm that same night. It'll be John, Craig, and I. The reservation is for 3-4 people, so we told Craig if he wants to bring a friend to dinner, that'd be fine with us. I wish the private dining room was larger and held more people!! :crowd: I'll come and crash the party after you all are seated at 9pm :smooth:

Susan: I want one of those shirts!! :goodvibes (The Pirates of the Jersey Shore shirts, I mean). Please let me know if and where you find them! I wonder if they're selling them at the shops on the boardwalk???

Regarding storing luggage: Yes the beds do pull up. After we emptied our luggage we didn't have much time before the safety drill so we lifted up one side of the bed and shoved all the suitcases underneath. When we put the mattress back down it didn't lie flat but I didn't worry about it at the time because we had to head out. By the time we got back to our cabin after the safety drill our cabin steward had already been in and neatly fit all of our suitcases under the mattress, because it was laying flat when we returned. :thumbsup2 On our Royal Caribbean cruise in 2003 they did remove our luggage and store it somewhere, but I know on DCL they do not do this (as far as I know, anyway).

Ok break is almost over.... :hourglass

Doreen - yes I am going to try to come to the Radisson to see everyone. I would love to hear those Magic words "MOM I FOUND GINNY". Believe me this cruise wasnt my idea... Bob heard about the FL resident rates for the 10 day and loved the ports and conned me into it. I was very worried about the kids missing 7 days of school but he twisted my arm and gave me the "I never ask for anything speech and promised to talk to the principals and get the days as excused absenses (they did this for us for the repo cruise last year) so I said OK. The summer heat here is hot but from what Andy and my mom are saying its not much different than NJ. We have a pool so that helps and as long as you do your yard work early in the day or in the evening its not too bad. I love living here so it doesnt really bother me at all.

So are you bringing the smoothie maker this trip????

Hi Moira (geez the servers are SLOW today!)...

Our Disfriends had the package...generally speaking, they got a bottle w/ dinner each night (not sure how many bottles total); what they didn't drink one night followed them into the dining room next night. In fact, they had a bottle at Palos that they didn't finish, and the waiter sent it to their dining room the next night! At the end of the week, they had one bottle left, and they were allowed to choose one they liked (as the last bottle) and take it home with them. AND - no lie - they brought it to my house when next I invited them to dinner!!! (so, when are you coming for dinner??? )

HTH! (rats, the smilies aren't working this afternoon...)

I was just checking our ressie on the DCL website. Last week when we booked this cruise (again, lol!!!) I asked Bev to link our dinner ressie with the group that was already linked. Upon checking my ressie a few minutes ago I noticed that there are 26 of us linked for dinner. The following DIS'ers and their families are linked together for late dining: Bev, Doreen, Elaine, Karen, Dori, Mary Rose, Terry, Tina, and me.

Not sure if there are any others, as these are the only names I saw attached with our ressie. Bev, is this the total list as of now?

Crown Princess Lists Heavily; Heads Back to Port
(5:45 p.m.) -- This just in: Princess Cruises' Crown Princess, which departed Port Canaveral today at 3:40 p.m., experienced an unexpected list to the port side as it was sailing north to New York. The ship is expected to return to its dock at Port Canaveral within minutes.

Cruise Critic member Elizabeth Perna rang Cruise Critic to report the incident. She had just spoken by cell phone with her mom, Theresa Plaskon-Angelou, who is onboard. According to Perna, Plaskon-Angelou said she was "taking a nap and everything just started flying off the dresser. She fell into the sliding glass door but was not injured."

In a statement from Princess, the ship listed "when it experienced problems with its steering equipment." There are injuries though she could not provide more details at this time.

Stay tuned to Cruise Critic throughout the night as we'll be updating our news as the situation warrants.

Cruise Critic members who happen to be onboard or on land near the port are posting observations. Among them:

Thanks to doggfan7 for this onboard report: "This was probably the scariest moment I have ever experienced. The water came up to the Promenade Deck and actually almost hit the lifeboats. We have heard that the rear and port side of the ship were fairly well in the air.

"The stairwells turned into waterfalls. The gift shops and casino turned into glass and chip graveyards.

"The dining room right now is full of injured people and passenger doctors and nurses are doing whatever they can to help.

"The 5th deck seems to catch the worst as there is blood all over the place. I saw a man with a broken foot hobble to the dining room bloody and crying and kids screaming. The internet cafe is crowded with people booking flights home from Florida as they do not want to stay on.

"I came on here primarily to see if anybody had loved ones on the ship and hadn't heard from them or were scared. I will check back and see if I can see if they are alright.

"It is very scary and we do not know how long we will be in Port Canaveral.

"About an hour before it happened, the captain said we were going into rough waters and that they turned the stabilizer on so it could be. They said the steering mechanism locked though.

"We will be in port in about 5 minutes they said and they have ambulances waiting for those seriously injured, and believe me there are quite a few. I had typed an account of the worst injury I have heard of a little girl but just erased it as it is too sad and gross, let's just say we all need to pray for this little girl who needs to be in a hospital in the next 5 minutes."

SeaBrz is ashore and says: "It's a little crazy out here in Cape Canaveral. Lots of helicopters, mostly news that I can see, but some red/white ones (Coast Guard?). Was told by a port worker that 20 ambulances were requested, four pumper trucks, and other assorted emergency vehicles. As posted above, according to the news (Channel 2) the Coast Guard needs to establish that the ship is controllable before they will let it into Port since it's supposedly listing at 12 degrees. Not sure what the option is."

Nliedel offers this chilling account. "Regarding injuries. People are badly injured. They called, "Alpha, Alpha, Alpha." They have closed the medical center to all but serious injuries and opened a satellite medical center. Carol is posting under my name, so it's not all just me posting.

"We have no idea what will happen. There is glass everywhere. Some people were hit by TV's falling off the shelves. There are some very severe cuts that I personally saw. The crew is very busy and people are panicking in life vests. Carol says some crew panicked and handed out life vests. They did not call the muster drill.

"Did I say Titanic is the MUTS movie tonight? That's some irony for you."

More from Nliedel (Carol): "Deborah, also one of our Cruise Critic group, was in an elevator when it happened. She's still shaking. CaroleLee was naked on a massage table in the Lotus Spa. As the ship listed, the equipment table next to her went sliding, and her table traveled about 15 feet across the corridor into a treatment room across the way. All of the Lotus Spa Pool is now in the Lotus Spa.

"All of the pools are pouring down the aft staircase and aft elevator shafts.

"The contents of the gift shops are all over the floors, mostly smashed. The contents of the bars are on the floors, and equipment is leaning or fallen.

"There is broken glass everywhere and many people are injured. There are children crying, and some passengers were handed life jackets by crew members. This just made them more upset.

I see people limping, bloody feet and other cuts. Most of the people that we know have wandered by and we know that they're ok. We are sitting outside the Explorers Bar."

Good Morning Everyone :wave2:

This morning so far it is rather nice outside. I better get my dog walking in now that it is a bit cooler. The weather is supposed to be cooler today high of 92, better then the 100 degrees here yesterday. There is a tropical storm brewing which the weather forcasters are saying we may get some rain if it heads up the east coast.

Doreen - I am so glad that you had a nice birthday, your package should arrive today!!!

Five weeks from today we will be in Costa Maya!!! I can't wait!

Terry, thank you for the report. Please God everyone is ok. I'm sure it was a very scary thing to happen, especially on something so big.

Andy, Yes one month or 31 days exactly and we will be boarding the ship... cannot WAIT!!! Thanks for the pictures too, I never knew they looked so big! We don't have any skyscrapers in Ireland so we are not used to REALLY big buildings/ships etc..

Doreen, glad I made it on the day.. and it soundslike you enjoyed it! Look after yourself...

Susan, how is the bride to be? All excited I bet!

Jen, thanks for the wine update.. the only thing stopping me is that we are on early dining and it would mean drinking at 6pm.. now there have been plenty of ocassions where I have started even earlier but I don't want to be asleep by 9! So I may hold off on it until we get there and play it by ear (is this an expression ye use??).

Weather good here again today, can't believe it. The UK is due to reach 39 degrees today, we are down for 30 degrees.

Have a nice day everyone...Moira.

Question: Has Anybody Thought About Booking a Reunion Package, its mentioned in the passporter book.. $39 per person..pictures, T-Shirt and SPECIAL banquet....anyone interested or looked into it? :confused3 Just a thouhgt....not sure if its to late.

Doreen, is this the page you saw mentioned?? I just copied this from the DCL web site:

Family Reunion

Make your Disney cruise a Family Reunion you'll never forget. Pose for a once-in-a-lifetime photo in matching Disney Cruise Line® Family Reunion T-shirts. Take home a keepsake 8x10 leather photo portfolio and commemorative certificate. On board, you'll receive:

Personalized Disney Cruise Line family reunion T-shirt (one per person)

Leather photo portfolio with 8x10 photo (one per stateroom)

Commemorative Disney Cruise Line family reunion certificate (one per person)

How to Book
To add this package to a new cruise reservation, go to Reservations and add the package from the Customize Cruise page of the Reservations process. Package must be purchased by all guests in the same stateroom and can be added or removed up to 30 days prior to sailing.

To add this package to an existing reservation, please call Disney Cruise Line® at (800) 951-3532† or contact your travel agent.

Price: Add $49* per person for the first two Guests and $19* for each additional Guest in the same stateroom to any 3-, 4-, or 7-night Disney Cruise Line® package.

It doesn't mention a special banquet, only a t-shirt, photo, and certificate. It's $49. per person (except for the third and fourth people in the same stateroom). The 4 of us have 2 cabins so it'd cost us $200 for this.

If it does include a special banquet that ALL of us who are interested in can go to, then I'd consider it.

Or is there a different reunion package other than this one?? :confused3 It's a great idea, but it'd only be worth it to me if it does include all of the above plus a banquet. :)

The job is still going very well! :goodvibes Surprisingly. lol I really dreaded going back to work but the reality of it has been quite different, in a good way. If I have to work somewhere, then I'm very glad that I found that exact job. :smooth:

Yesterday they sent someone out for iced coffees in the morning, then in the afternoon someone went out for ice cream for everyone. :teeth: Oh, and it's not ME that they're sending out. lol The ladies in HR are the ones who went.

Last week I brought in my high school yearbook because one of the ladies in HR absolutely LOVES Jon Bon Jovi, and she wanted to see his picture in my yearbook (For those who don't know, I went to high school with him). She was so funny, she photocopied the page and everything. :lmao:

John is off from work today because he has a doctor's appointment this morning and he just brought me a cup of French vanilla coffee in my Grand Floridian mug :surfweb: A nice way to start the day. And I have about an hour before I have to leave for work.

Have a great day everyone :sunny:

We did the wine package on our last DCL cruise. It was fairly good. There was a decent selection of wines and it was only somewhat over-priced. Then again, I'm a real bargain hunter.

As someone noted, the wine will follow you around to the different dining rooms.

Since we have a large selection of wines at home we are just going to bring a few bottles with us, pour a glass for dinner and bring it to the dining room. Plus you can pour another glass near bedtime! :drinking1

Doreen & Daniel - I wont be going to Grillz so you can just look for me at the pool. My DD has school until 4 PM and then its probably close to 2 hours from my house to the Radisson. Doreen...Happy Birthday...even if it is a day late...hope you had a great day. Was your daughter working at Steve Madden at Carousel Mall on Friday? I took a surprise day off and we decided to take a ride to Syracuse's Carousel Mall and the first store that my DD headed for was Steve Madden and she laid down a small fortune for a pair of shoes...but she was thrilled because she got a free pair of Steve Madden flip flops! I asked someone there if they knew you but looked at me like I had three heads (I think that I asked the manager maybe)--just thought that it would have been funny if your daughter waited on my DD!! Boy was it hot in that mall with the sun beating down on the glass domes!

Moira...what town were you originally from so that when I see Sarah's former teacher, I can mention it (I remember you said that you grew up 12 miles from her town). I think Ms. O'Shea was from Thule??

Much cooler here today! My central air has really been working overtime! I guess this weather will prepare us for hot and sticky Mexico!

DORI.. glad to see you posting again.. I bet you and DEVIN are so excited to be cruising again... How did his grades end up after all..lol JUST KIDDING.. :teeth:

Glad to be back, although I am still working 60 hours week and have to 'steal time' to read and post. It's getting too close and I want to be up-to-date on everyone when we hit the ship.

Devin actually ended up making a nice save on his social studies grade. He got an A- fourth quarter, so things averaged out to a C+. He's showing some ambition and initiative too. He's taking PE in summer school right now so he can take two full-year electives next year. He's planning on continuing in band (been playing the flute for about 5 years now) and he wants to start taking Japanese. It was all his idea and I've already told him how proud I am of him for thinking ahead and making the needed sacrifice this summer. He gets out of school a week before we leave for the cruise.

Just wait until you guys see how much he has grown in the last two years. On the last cruise he was just past my chin. Now he's within an inch or so of being just as tall as I am. I have to take him out here in a couple of weeks and see about getting him a new suit for the cruise, he finally outgrew the old one this last winter.

Well, I better get back to work. My break is over.

Walsh Clan,

My memory on the wine packages is that the selection was heavy towards California wines and not as many international wines as I had hoped. You maybe had one or two selections of German, Italian, French, Australian, etc.

So if you want to try different Californian wines then the wine package would be good.

I believe every night at dinner there is a recommended wine to go with the meal that you can order by the glass. That might be a better way to go rather than buying full bottles.

And sometimes your servers can make wine recommendations. On one DCL cruise our server was from Hungary and he recommended a Hungarian wine that was fabulous.

Hi Guys,

Feeling a bit sore right now, thanks to a boxer/lad mix dog that decided he wanted a chunck of me this morning as I was reading meters.

The owner said don't worry, he's friendly, he won't bite. No sooner were the words out of his mouth, then chomp, the dog jumped at me and bit me in the chest. I went to the township doc to get checked out, the doc said I had three punture wounds. The area was cleaned out and treated with oinment, and I was also given a prescription for an antibiotic, which I dropped off at CVS to be filled on my way home. The doc also gave me some pain meds which I just had to take because this is really starting to hurt now.

I have to go back and turn in papers at work from the doc and go give my accident report to the police so they can follow up and make sure the dog has had all his shots and the dog's license are up to date.

So, how has everyone else's day been???

Andy, you poor thing!! I hope that dogs has had all of it's shots. Unbelievable that the owner let it run loose and thought it wouldn't bite!! Will he be fined, at the very least??? I imagine the township will cover all of your bills, afterall this happened in the line of duty!

I hope you feel better soon.

Ouch Andy - I hurt just reading about the dog bite. :dog: Take care of yourself. By the way, how's your ankle doing?

Since we're past DCL members, we can all go to the past guest party and take over the whole room. :rotfl2: Free drinks, snack and good old and new friends. Sounds good to me.

Terry - glad you're enjoying your job.

Terry and Mary Rose - please send me your LS orders. I have to get it to Doreen.

Hi Moira! The bride to be Lisa is doing great, going for last fittings for her gown. Lisa is an identical twin and last weekend was the bridal shower in NY. I have some cute magnetic door signs for them some creative people over at the dis signs board made, as well as some Wedding t shirts for the couple. See you on the cruise!

Your teacher is from Thurles and I grew up 12 miles from there is a place called Cashel. Both of us would be from County Tipperary, which is very important to us when it comes to the local sport - HURLING! So wehn you see her, tell her from me - Up Tipp! And you will get a laugh for sure!

Wow - how scary!!! Hopefully that owner is going to get into trouble over this. At the very least the owner should reimburse all the medical/pharmacy bills. Hang onto all your receipts.

We had a wicked thunderstorm last night. Dropped gumball sized hail stones. And the wind was blowing horizontally. I thought my windows were going to break with the hail pounding on them.

Lost power for five hours. We have half the house hooked up to a generator which covers the important things - heat, water, stove/microwave/frig, TV and this computer. Gotta have your priorities straight. :thumbsup2

Terry: I saw that news report on TV last night. My DD & I were watching the news & I said, "OMG do not tell your father about this!" LOL Aren't I terrible? He refused to go see Poseidon because he said it would freak him out before the cruise. While we were food shopping today, I suggested we buy some bug repellent for our excurison to the Mayan ruins. He replied, "why so we don't develop Malaria while we're there? Remind me never to leave the country again!" Oh brother!

Andy: How could the owner say that dog was friendly? That is terrible! My dog would PROBABLY lick you to death, but I would never assume that especially since she's been known to get a little snappy when people approach me while I'm holding her. Of course once I put her down in the house she usually runs over & proceeds to pee all over our guest's shoes because she gets so darn excited. She's a cocka-poodle by the way, but I've heard them called cocka-piddles for a reason! ;)

I can't believe we only have a month till the cruise? How is that possible? On one hand it seemed like it was going to be forever till it got here. Now that it's right around the corner...I'm wondering how it happened so fast? :teeth:

Take care!

 Hello,

I got back home around 2pm after giving my report to the police and filling out the accident report with my boss. When I walked into the police station, who was there, but the owner of the dog that bit me. He had to bring in all the dog's papers proving the dog was up to date with all it's shots. As soon as the man saw me walk in, he again said, "I'm so sorry about this, I still can't believe he bit you." I told him it was an accident and not to worry about it. Since it happened on the job, workman's comp is taking care of all the bills, thank goodness because Hazel just picked up my antibiotic and the 28 tablets came to just over $100. The pain med is helping, and I am putting ice on the wound to try and keep the swelling down. Other than that, all is well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I was just checking our ressie on the DCL website. Last week when we booked this cruise (again, lol!!!) I asked Bev to link our dinner ressie with the group that was already linked. Upon checking my ressie a few minutes ago I noticed that there are 26 of us linked for dinner. VerANDY Man, how are you feeling today?? I hope you still aren't sore. :(

Everyone: Wow, I cannot believe that tomorrow I'll be posting that we only have 4 weeks left! This cruise has always been SO FAR AWAY that I haven't given any thought at all to making sure we have everything we'll need. We do have our passports, so those are all set. But I mean, clothes... I know that I have clothes. I bought Robby a new suit just a couple of months ago so his suit still fits. I'm pretty sure that Craig's suit still fits him. I have to get John's suit out and have him try it on. I know we all have shorts and t-shirts and sneakers. John and I have sandals, neither of the boys wear sandals. On the last cruise I bought them each sandals and I don't think they wore them at all. lol Bathing suits, I think we're all set there...

ah...don't mind all that, I was just thinking, or should I say TYPING, out loud. :lmao:

This weekend I'm going to start a packing list, then I start checking things off...

Have a great day everyone. It's my first PAY DAY! :woohoo:

I've been busy with the planing for our drive to the autotrain and then drive home.

Maps are all set. Beth is still looking for clothes for this trip Being a stay at home mom the warerobe is mainly teashirts, jeans and shorts. Nothing real formal. Me, Ive lost so many lbs my suits are too large.

So the next two weeks is clothes shopping for us, then we start packing,
We have a checklist that is 3 pages long LOL

Hi Everyone!!! :wave2:

Terry - the last cruise I bought so much stuff, I hardly wore any of it except one formal dress and a pair of capris, bathing suits, shorts, tops and sandals, flip flops, sneakers and one pair of formal shoes. This time I am trying to minimalize as much as possible. One suitcase with those space bags is my mission this year. I am also spending the week after the cruise at WDW so this will be a challenge for me!

Congrats on you !st paycheck this week!!

Andy - how are you feeling?

Tina - prayers are with you this weekend!!!

Excuse any typing errors, I went to the eye doctor this am and my eyes are dialated. I was glad to be sitting down when they told me how much my new prescription is going to cost??? It really gets expensive when you get older!!!

Tomorrow starts 4 weeks left!!! :woohoo: Get ready to do the happy dance!! :dancer:

Tina: Best wishes! I will be thinking of you.

Andy: Hope you feel better fast!

We are doing early dining so we will miss out on linking with all of you. Early just works better for us with the kids going in the clubs. Last time we did late dining & they seemed to miss a lot & then DH & I didn't get much alone time. Not that I expect to be separated from them all the time, but a couple of hours at night would be nice. Sort of like a date & goodness knows we don't get too many of those these days. We went to lunch alone in April for our anniversary. Wow that was a treat!

I finally filled out our on-line registration forms yesterday. I told you procrastinator was my middle name.

I have NOT finished shopping for the cruise yet. I did buy a cocktail dress for formal night. Last time I wore a gown but I didn't feel like tripping on a long dress this time. I got honking big shoes though so I can appear to be a couple of inches taller than I really am. I hope I don't fall off them! LOL

I got DD a gorgeous dress off Amazon of all places. I wasn't sure just how nice it was going to be, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I want to buy some water shoes for the kids because we are going to do the Playa Mia beach break & I heard it was a bit rocky?

Okay I guess that's enough about me! How's everyone else doing?

The wound is healing nicely and the pain has already started to ease off a bit. All that is left now are teeth marks and a big black and blue circle on my chest. I have to go back to the work doctor today so he can see how it is healing. I am on antibiotics for 7 days just to ward off any possible infection.

We got our Magical Express package last week too!! :teeth: We're only using ME for the return trip to the airport after our Polynesian stay after the cruise. When we arrive in Orlando, and then to get from the port after the cruise over to WDW, we're using a limo service. A limo is one of the things that we always splurge for on vacation. :smooth: On our last WDW trip in May we decided to give ME a try and we didn't really care for the arrival experience (after arriving in Orlando we had to wait in line, then get on a bus with people going to two other resorts, then were the last resort to be dropped off), but the departing ME experience was quite nice, which is why we'll take advantage of it this time too. :3dglasses

Andy: I'm glad you're feeling a bit better :)

Andy: OUCH! Happy healing. We have two dogs. Charlie is beautiful and stupid and loves people. For a belly rub or milkbone he would gladly show any burglar where the "good stuff" is hidden. Holly is smart and an aggressive licker, but she HATES the postal carrier. My deepest fear is that someday, somehow, I will open the door just as she is coming up the stairs and Holly will snap at her. :sad2:

Do you remember that scene from City Slickers where Billy Crystal is trying to explain the VCR clock to Daniel Stern -- for, like, the twentieth time? Can someone explain the whole linking thing to me (dining for the feeble-minded). Does linking put everyone in the same rotation or connect the people who happen to be in the same rotation or???? I probably shouldn't let on how many times my friend has tried to explain to me how her sister the flight attendant can live in Las Vegas but is based in Hawaii...

Linking reservations will put those who are linked together in the same restaurant (dining rotation) and hopefully have tables very close together since it is considered one big group. On our first cruise in 2003 we were linked with several other DIS families and we had one small table and one large table side by side, it worked out great.

We went and filled out the paperwork to get Angelina's passport this afternoon. We were told it should take about ten business days to have the completed passport delivered to us.

I think Angelina was getting nervous about stopping at Costa Maya, Mexico and Cozumel, Mexico that she might have trouble getting back on the ship without a U.S. Passport, especially since she was born in Mexico, she was afraid no one would believe us that she was an American, and not a Mexican trying to sneak on the ship. So, to make her feel more comfortable, we decided to get her a passport now instead of waiting until after she turned 16 in September. At least this way, we also know, we won't have any trouble getting her on the ship at the DCL Terminal, LOL!!! :teeth:

The township doc said the dog bite is healing nicely and he wants me to come back in 5 days for another check-up. At least I can see him during working hours, and still get paid for it!!!

Andy: Is this your first western cruise?? Just wondering why Angelina would feel nervous now, after so many Disney cruises. Also, there is no customs check on the Western itinerary like there is on the Eastern. She's a registered DCL guest, she won't have any trouble getting on and off the ship at any of the ports. However, I do understand her concerns, and I think it's great that you've ordered a passport for her. Is the timeframe for new passports only 10 days?? If so, that's good. When I sent my renewal in this past spring, it took the full 6 weeks for me to get my new passport back, as posted on the government site. Or, did you pay extra for expedition?? Also, since she's your adopted daughter, doesn't she have a US birth certificate? Sorry to ask so many questions, I'm just curious :) But no matter the answer to these questions, I totally understand that you and Hazel would want her to feel as comfortable as possible while traveling out of the country :goodvibes In your shoes, I'd do the same thing :) In fact, we did get passports for our boys before we cruised in 2004, it just gave us an extra measure of peace of mind. ::yes::

Well we got a suprise this morning, Beth heard a loud Crack during a storm and looked out the window to see a large tree limb fall mostly into our neighbors yard and a little in ours.

The Tree is on the other side of the stone wall and belongs to the town.
Its on property the town purchased last year.

The inspector has already been by and authorized the towns tree service to come and remove and cut down the remainer of the tree.

Luckly its not near the house.

No, this is our first western cruise, all the others were eastern. We had to pay an extra sixty dollars to have the passport expidited.

Yes, Angelina does have a U.S. Birth Certificate and a Proof of Citizenship paper, but I think she was just getting nervous about going into Mexico without having a U.S. Passport. I have a feeling some of her friends have been asking her questions about getting stuck in Mexico, so if this relieves any tensions, it is well worth the price.

We were going to get her a passport before the May cruise, but kept putting it off, how I wish we had gotten the passport for her before that cruise!!! :lmao:

Well we got a suprise this morning, Beth heard a loud Crack during a storm and looked out the window to see a large tree limb fall mostly into our neighbors yard and a little in ours.

The Tree is on the other side of the stone wall and belongs to the town.
Its on property the town purchased last year.

The inspector has already been by and authorized the towns tree service to come and remove and cut down the remainer of the tree.

Luckly its not near the house.

We've had some serious thunderstorms this summer! Lucky you did not suffer any damage or need for clean up!

Stan is resting comfortably at home after his surgery today. The doctor said the kidney stone was embedded and he had to beat Stan up to get it broken up and removed. He installed a stint but will remove it in about a week and a half. They had a room for him but decided he could go home today if he behaved. Yea, right. He's been up and down the stairs twice already. Men!

Seriously, I am relieved that it went well today and am pretty exhausted myself.

One surgery down, one to go.

Can't wait for our cruise,

A month ago, I booked a family reunion for 12/9 on the Crown Princess. Today, I can't tell you how many phone calls I received (from my family) wanting to cancel the Crown Princess and switch to RCCL Adventurer doing the Southern Caribbean. (My nephew has a 2 month ago, and I can't wait for her to get older so I can take her on DCL with us. :thumbsup2 ) Anyway, I cancelled Princess, booked Royal, changed the flight dates, etc etc. I'm not really complaining because I love doing what I do. This will be the first vacation ever that my mom, my family, my brother and sister in law, their 2 sons and wives and 2 month old granddaughter are all going on vacation together. I hope we'll do it again.

ok, so about 4 weeks from now, I will probably be either asleep, or well into my cups, and being that I don't drink, that will be about 1 drink to put me over the edge. So I have to get plenty of rest. My husband and son tell me I shouldn't watch any of the cruise shows on Travel channel, especially "What you don't know happens on a Cruise"!!!! The customers at the restaurant think we all are going, and cannot believe it is just me. Did some more shopping tonight, and am just about ready. Have a good night all and talk tomorrow.

Tina and Chuck, here's thinking of you this weekend, I hope it's a blessed weekend for all of your family!!! :grouphug:

We're also bringing my Mom on her first Disney Cruise during what traditionally was the family week In Wildwood;til last year and when DH DS & I did the August PC Repo Mom hadn't cruised at all before last year Mom wanted to see the UK so we booked her a British Isles Cruise on Princess; although she enjoyed her trip the cruise wasn't DCL and from the descriptions from my Mom & niece I knew we had to get her a DCL experience to see what we've come to love so she's coming with us instead of going to Wildwood this year.

I got a call last night she's so excited; when talking about dress for dinner I was trying to explain pirate night options when she came to the realization this is not princess cruise lines. I'm so looking forward to her having pampering of the DCL experience just like we've gotten her accustomed to WDW experiences-- it's great to be able to have her along and share our vacation . We weren't able to do so with Dad as his health didn't allow for much travel other than going down the shore but those memories are precious and seeing the relationship DS has & had with my folks vs some of my nephews and nieces I am grateful.

Four weeks and counting!

Anybody up for BINGO? That's one of my favorite activities on board. Not that I'm a big gambler or anything, but I just love how silly everyone gets when they play, not to mention the excitement when you are so close...yet so far! LOL

Yes, that was Polish, and our grandparents were the BEST :thumbsup2 in the world. They are dearly missed as thought of every day. I am sure they are going to be watching over us because they are our special angels in Heaven.

The July "Double-Dippers" sailaway today, then our turn for "Double-Dipping" will be next!!!!!!!

I was talking with my mom on the phone last night, she is really getting excited about this cruise. I remember growing up, we only went on two family vacations and both were to Wildwood, NJ. I'm so glad we are able to bring my mom along with us when we can, and she really enjoys going with us. You never know how long you are going to have your loved ones with you, so you have to make the most of it, while you can.

Same here when I was growing up.....two weeks at Normandy Beach, NJ, in the summer. I still remember one summer when I had the chicken pox during the first week of vacation. Became the Sorry game champion.

Last year we took my Mom on the 4-day Wonder with us as a thank you. It was such a great experience being able to share the cruise with her. She was a bit overwhelmed by the end, though. I don't think she ever fully grasped that she could order anything she wanted on the dinner menus and not have to worry about the cost.

My kids were so happy to show off the ship to their grandma.

My brother is heading off to Wildwood today. We'll be down in the area in one week hitting the waves and building sandcastles.

We LOVE Bingo!!!! We've blown way too much money on Bingo on DCL cruises. To us, there is only one Bingo King - Andy from Australia. I'm sure anyone who's cruised on the Magic in 2002/2003 remembers him. He got a big promotion and become assistant cruise director on the Wonder.

Last August when we did the Land and Sea package we got to see him. He looks so handsome in his officers uniform    I blanked out and forgot to take a photo.

Funny how so many CMs on both ships knows who he is. He's going to make a terrific cruise director one day.

So DCL if you are reading these (which we know you do ;) ;) ) please, please, please have Andy switch over to the Magic for the double dip cruises and let us share the "Bingo Love"!!!!
