Dave what is the best liquor stop in the Radisson Port area? Do the grocery stores in the area sell wine/beer/hard liquor?

Pslikops, the liquor prices from DCL (scanned on your great website) look pretty reasonable. Was there wine too? Was this available for purchase to drink during the cruise, or was this the duty free to purchase for disembarkation?

Both, can we just purchase sealed liquor on board to drink in our cabins rather than hauling it on?

Carla, I can answer the second question for you. The liquor you purchase on the ship can NOT be consumed on the ship, you can't even get it until the final night of your cruise. It's hard liquor only, no wine.

We stopped at a very large liquor store in Cocoa Beach that was a few miles down the road from the Radisson. Don't remember the name, but it was on the same side as the Radisson.

I am aware of liquor stores in both Cocoa and Merrit Island. The Cocoa (note... that's Cocoa, not Cocoa Beach) is very convenient to the highway. Take the SR-524 exit... the first exit east of I-95 on SR-528. Turn right at the end of the ramp and turn into the shopping center with the Winn-Dixie. The liquor store is part of the Winn-Dixie.

There's also one next to the Walgreens on Merritt Island. Both the Winn-Dixie and the Walgreens are on my Space Coast Locater Maps (www.dcltribute.com/spacecoast).

Of course, you can buy wine during your meal and do one of 2 things.....drink part of the bottle and allow them to keep it for you for your next dinner, or take the remaining wine back to your cabin.....which is what we did with the Moscato we fell in love with! Oh yeah, also you could consume the entire bottle with your meal......did that too!

Kris, can you take your wine into the clubs too?

Actually we kinda did that, too, and it felt weird! We went straight from dinner to the show with a full glass of wine....our server said it would be okay. Walking through the halls felt really odd, but was fun, too! So I would assume taking your own into a club should be fine........you can always ask!:D

For the biggest selection you can go to the ABC liquor store in Cocoa Beach which is probably about 3 miles south of Walgreens and RonJons. Same side of the road as Walgreens. There's probably one on Merritt Island also but I can't think of exactly where right now. If you're not looking for anything unusual then the Walgreens would be a great, close option.
