Hi Peeps!
Just reporting that DH and I are in Chicago for the weekend. We are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel, which I didn't know they had in Chicago until this morning. We are here for 3 nights, and we went out to dinner and went to see Wicked tonight. It was AMAZING!!! I am glad we chose to come here. I think I will at least be able to be distracted most of the time. We are going shopping for the next couple of days at various places. Our room is amazing. We are on the 18th floor and have a corner room with windows on two sides and views of Michigan Avenue. It also has free wireless internet access, which is really nice, so I can keep in touch with you guys, and I am SO glad because I REALLY appreciate all of your kind words and thoughts regarding our situation. y'all! And there's a Vera Bradley retailer a couple doors down from here. We stopped in there earlier, and it was raining, so I got an umbrella in my Mod Pink Floral print. :)
As for DL, DH is going to make an appointment with the doctor when we get home so he can see what his medication options are. He says he WILL get me to DL in December. Since it will be a longer trip, we will have more time and can do other things besides just DL. We will also have the option of him taking a train or something if the medication doesn't work. We plan to fly though, and I actually want to more than ever now. And I think DH does too. We also won't be using DVC points in December, so we have that many more we can use in May, which means we can get a 2-bedroom for part of the trip because it sounds like we will have both my best friend from high school and her DH AND one of my other closest friends and her DH with us for the first 4 or 5 days of the trip! :goodvibes
Bottom line is I am devastated that we aren't in DL this weekend, but I WILL have a good time this weekend with DH where we are. (He even offered to send my mom with me on the trip, but I said no because I wanted us to experience DL for the first time together. How can you not love him for offering though? :lovestruc ) We WILL get to DL this year, and we WILL have a great time at WDW in May with our friends!
Once again, thank you for all the your comments about this. You have no idea how much it means to me! :goodvibes
Glad that you were still able to get away.
Will weigh in in a few!

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:
Glad you're doing something fun, Lynda!!! Happy Birthday, sweetie!
MJ....Good for you for putting yourself out there. All the good ones are certainly not taken and some good ones have been cut loose through no fault of their own. I hope you have a good experience with eharmony. Celerystalker is using a dating service and having dates nearly every night. Maybe she'll stop by.
Bonnie....I had too many margaritas with the girlfriends last night and feel terrible today! I'm not much of a drinker actually so I'm a bit of a lightweight. Now I've gotta go see what Mr. Scale has to say about my little night out. :scared:
I'll be back with a weigh in....
HAVE A GOOD DAY! TGIF! :woohoo:

I'm so glad that you got to go to Chicago for the weekend. Thrilled that you got to see WIcked. I saw that on Broadway a bit over a year ago and thought it was wonderful. I'm seeing it again this May. Other than Beaty and the Beast I've never seen a broadway play twice, but this one is worth it! Have a wonderful time this weekend!

So cool about your friend and the marathon! Very insprirational, thanks for sharing.
Good morning everyone and Good afternoon to DisneyGalUK!

Could it have been all those nachos and margaritas last night? :confused3
All those Lean Cuisines down the drain.
I'll do better next week.

Gain of 1.2
Last weeks weight: 173.8, this week 175, starting weight 176 so a net loss of 1. Got fast food tempted and I can tell I didnt drink my water, my hands are puffy this morning. So time to get serious.
Thought for the day: Step 1: In order to lose weight, you have to BELIEVE that YOU WILL SUCCEED (borrowed from the biggest loser)
OK- I think I've found my new cardio. Went to the basement last night, put on those tap shoes, and was a dancin' fool for about 15 min (sorry thats all I could last) but my heart rate was up, I was breathing hard, and I was sweaty. I never get sweaty on the treadmill or the eliptical. Getting sweaty is a good thing right? That walking in place just bores me.
SO . . . My goal is to do my new cardio everyday - for however long I can last- those girls really worked me out and I wasnt even up to full speed- I have danced before but last time I had on tap shoes I was 9:eek: So I'm in the beginner class.
I also will go to the gym at least twice a week for weights and we have some resistance bands that I am going to start using to stregthen my ankles (these are DD's that they use for pointe class and I'm sure they will put me through the ringer)
So. . . All you peeps have a great day and a great weekend-

If you like dancing and dont want to feel overwhelmed! Try the Yoga Booty Ballet workouts. I think they are great for beginners, alot of fun and is alot better than walking in place....I have not tried it yet but since you quoted the biggest loser, I know they just came out with a new workout video/dvd the instructors are Bob and Jillian...I love Bob

Where would I find the Yoga Ballet workout info and the dvd from Bob and Jillian?
My 2 girls are my personal trainers right now- they both dance - tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, musical theater, lyrical, ballet, pointe - they would love it if I put a barre in the basement- I'm NOT hanging mirrors though :rotfl:

grrrrrrrr......i'm + 2 pounds today. i don't get it. i worked out like a fool this week and ate very peepishly. AF is here but usually that doesn't affect me that much. and i'm still sore from tuesday's workout so that could be contributing, too......stupid lactic acid!!! i know that it takes about a week to see the results of what you're doing but this is really frustrating!

i'm so ready for this! i've been telling ray about it for months.....i can't wait to see what they throw away. i have to admit i have lots of disney clothes but i only wear them while in disney and at the gym. they'd have to break my arm to get me to throw away my stuff!
OK- I think I've found my new cardio. Went to the basement last night, put on those tap shoes, and was a dancin' fool for about 15 min (sorry thats all I could last) but my heart rate was up, I was breathing hard, and I was sweaty.

I am going to just start posting my weight cause I have no clue what my change is from last week. I think +.5
I am 10.5 lbs over my Feb challenge goal weight. Maybe the magic spreadsheet can tell my change for the week.

Listen!!!! I learned on Biggest Loser this last week that week #2 is notoriously BAD for weigh in!!!! See? We're all normal after our re-committing! NOW, the trick is not to let it bum you out so you snack! (I'm talking to myself mostly)
SO...Stop bummin'!
I don't know the reason, but look at the contestants on the show! They are on that tread mill for hours and they are eating a measured calibrated diet and still manage to "samer" :headache: ON NATIONAL TV wearing an unflattering sports bra with their "sisters" headlights crooked  (I hope I'm not the only one who notices skeewampus headlights!!!!)
As for me, last night I was up 2 pounds, and in my sleep ended up being a total of -.05 for the week! See? A crap shoot!!!! (literally :scared: )
Punkin- That Teeth video is a nightmare I've actually had a few times! I think I should sue! and Wall E. looks super funny! YOU know how much I love Will Farrell, so needless to say, I want a poster of that!

Anybody have experience with online dating that would like to share some tips (and yes I do remember that interesting story told a few months ago...)?
I don't know if I have any real tips, but I did meet my wife online. We used Match.com. But I had to go through a couple, shall I say "trial runs", before I met her. We were both in the same boat as you. Looking for somebody, but no clue where to look since neither of us are bar people. Add to the fact that I am super duper shy and clam up around people I don't know, and on-line was pretty much my only hope. Well, that or Love Connection. But they've stopped recording that show years ago.
I lost 3.6 pounds this week. Funny how a diet and exercise plan work so much better when you actually, ya know, diet and exercise. Who woulda thunk it? This gives me a grand total weight loss of 40.4 pounds since January 2007, and an uber-grand total of 64.4 pounds lost since April 2005. I am now 5.6 pounds from my Valentines Day goal of 170, and 20.6 pounds away from my ultimate goal weight of 155.
Good luck to all!

I am... -7 !!!!
Holy Crap!! I didn't expect this much. I think a lot of it was AF/water weight last week, though.
I am 180.2, lowest weight in 2007 was about 174, so the damage isn't awful I guess considering I basically was un-PEEP-like off and on for the last 3-4 months of 2007. I am more confident now that I can at least make it under 180 before we head to WDW on Jan 25. I would love to see 175 again.
Food for yesterday:
B: SF Oatmeal(100), coffee
L: Salad (100), 2 FF hot dogs (80)
D: 1 foot long Roast Beef Subway sub (580)
S: Many light beers (~800)
Total for the day: ~1600? Exercise, 45 min on the arc trainer
I was really bad yesterday since we had tickets to an NHL game and my team lost. I planned for some beer but not as much as I wound up consuming. Oh well, I still didn't do too badly on calories and I don't feel bad today, so that is a good thing.
Congrats to all the losers, and samer/gainers keep trucking... we will get there together!

In honor of the wedding dress discussion, here is a wedding pic:
http://www.cs.duke.edu/~kathryn/images/fountainsmall.JPG
I actually bought my dress about 3 yrs (and 30 lbs, good thing I got it big!) before the wedding, so I had to do some power dieting to fit into it. Plus a really, really good undergarment. ;)
I was about 5-10 lbs lighter in that pic than I am now. And the reason it was so long before the wedding is that, well, I sort of bought it to marry a different guy than I ended up with (long, long story and a lot less Springer than it sounds).
Very pretty Kat

I can't multiquote again or use any smilies, (sad face). I am + .6. I can't even change my font size, WTH. Anyway great job to everyone who lost so far this week and stayed the same. Don't worry about gaining for those who did. I myself feel that I probably lost the weight that I gained in between the holidays of not being able to weigh in at WW. And yes Wendy I did notice the wonked headlights on the Biggest Loser girls. Let me tell you, you couldn't get me to wear one of those sport bras on national TV. I need help my peeps. This weekend is going to a tuffy. Tonight we are going to my best friend's house to exchange christmas gifts with the kids, we are having pizza. Now I love pizza and I ALWAYS get a salad when we get pizza home and I will do that again but most often I go back get another piece. Well then comes Saturday, it's my SIL's birthday and we are going over for guess what PIZZA. Then Sunday I have a christening, that I could handle but I am very scared about the pizza thing, what should I do. I can't eat pizza two nights in a row. Do you think it's better if I get a grinder on Saturday or just a salad and pizza? Please help me peeps.

I need some Disney MOJO or something to keep the fog away so our plane can take off Sunday morning. Visibility at airport last night was down to 50 ft from the fog. So all of you please keep your fingers crossed as I cannot cancel and get my DVC points back.
Also, I have to tell you guys about my dog. I have a one eyed hairless PEEP. He's hairless because of his breed and he's one eyed right now because he has a dry eye (on steroids for it) and he can jump 10 ft straight up to get on those counters to get food. I made cupcakes last night for my staff and he got up there and grabbed one before I noticed. I had only made enough so that each person on my staff got one plus one extra for DH. Well, DH didn't get his cupcake, Andy did. So after that, I wrapped them and put them on top of the washing machine and closed the laundry room door. This morning, at 5am, my darling little Andy is in the kitchen crying his head off. Of course, I was asleep. I hear him with that high pitched mournful squeal and go out there to see what's wrong and there he sits by the laundry room door crying because he can't get in there and get a cupcake.
So life isn't bad enough that I have cancer, a weight problem, a bipolar son and hair like Don King. Now I've got a high priced little foo-foo dog who is costing me $250/month in steroids and he's become a food addict.

That is too funny! I could totally see my dog doing the same thing. My mother-in-law baked our dog a bunch of treats for Christmas, and we keep them in the bottom drawer of the fridge for safe keeping. When ever she hears that refrigerator door open, she comes running to the kitchen and looks at the treats, looks at me, looks at the treats, looks at me. And if I don't give her one, she'll sit in front of the fridge and whine. And if that doesn't work, she'll lay down in front of it and won't move until we get up again.
Great work on the V-Day challenge everyone! With 87% of the precincts reporting, we are up to a net loss 15.9 pounds! Good work everyone!

Thanks for keeping track Aaron!!
Pakey I shouldn't laugh but your dog story was very funny.
I am so afraid to set a challenge goal because the last two times I have tried, I have falled off the wagon. With my WDW trip in 2 weeks, I am trying so hard to stay Peep-like at least until a few days before.
Confession time... I have such trouble with the black/white version of dieting... when I am ON the diet, I do great... stay within my calories, exercise, etc. When I am OFF the diet, I eat and drink everything in my path. I think this is called binge eating and I am terrible for it (or good at it, whichever you prefer).
My goal is to get to a reasonable weight and then start a maintenance program that can incorporate my bad tendencies yet not put weight on. I am thinking of a 5 day on, 2 day off program. I would love to say I could just eat in moderation for the rest of my life, but I am just not sure that is a possibility for me.

i think your goal for maintenance is perfect...that was kind of what i did when i lost a bunch of weight with WW 5 years ago..i would be good for 5 days out of the week but then i would have 2 "spike days" where i wouldnt' count cals or points..it seemed to work. I think it tricked my body and my metabolism would always have to be working to figure itself out..i dunno..thats just a theory ;)

:rotfl2: OK I never noticed that but from now on I surely will and I'll have to make sure my family notices too!:rotfl2:
:confused3 WHo'd a thunk?:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I am... -7 !!!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I had heard that and if I were her I would have hide my Disney gear and crocs. Nobody's throwing those away

Good luck on the disney mojo!:wizard: The visual I'm getting of the dog is hysterical!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Good work everyone!
http://img29.picoodle.com/img/img29/4/1/11/f_Peepm_da7f3b2.png
These dog stories are great. THis morning a friend told me that her sister had a pot-bellied pig that learned to open the fridge and take out the beer! It would then roll the can around into things until the can punctures and it would lick up the beer. THey would get up every morning to a huge mess with the pot belly pig sprawled out in the middle of it. They finally got rid of the pig. They didn;t mind the mess so much as the fact that the pig was taking their beer!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Aaron, you missed me. I'm in for an 8 lb challenge, maybe yuou missed my earlier post. I'm down by 1 lb.
Down 3 pounds this week.

Hi Peeps ,
I know I haven't posted in a while, but I've been busy, so I've only had time to do the occasional lurking/skimming. :surfweb:
Anyway, for those of you who have been keeping up with my continuing health saga, my doctor told me yesterday that I do, in fact, have Lupus. I think I mentioned a while back, when I first got sick, that it was one of the things that they were considering. So, it has been a major blow to me right now. Especially due to the fact that I had a cousin (that I was very close to) who passed away due to complications from Lupus at the age of 30 (and some of you may recall, I just turned 30 in Dec) :sad1:
So, here I am asking for more pixie dust and prayers from you guys as I deal with this new chapter in my life.
I hope everyone is having a great day and I hope all who are participating in the V-day challenge are surpassing their goals. :cheer2:

on a completely unrelated side note, my other manager there used to play cinderella at disney world. princess:

here's some non-foggy good travel vibes for you! :goodvibes
and your dog story is hilarious! i don't know what i'd do without my dogs to entertain me. i was standing in the bathroom last night after i got out of the shower, combing my hair and eli (my 3-year-old fat, scaredy-cat beagle hound) comes flying through the bedroom and crawls under the bed. just about that time i hear ray saying, "no....bad boy!" i go in the kitchen to see what's going on and sherman (my 10-year-old non-fat but always very hungry beagle) had gotten into the trash. i asked ray if he whipped him and he said he had popped him on the butt, why? i said, "because eli just ran and hid under the bed!" we were both cracking up and ray compared it to the scene in "a christmas story" after ralphie gets in a fight and his mom catches him cursing and he's awaiting the doom of his father returning home from work and finding all this out....meanwhile his little brother, randy, is sitting under the kitchen cabinet crying and when his mom asks him what's wrong he says, "DAD'S GONNA KILL RALPHIE!!!!!!!" :rotfl:
Great work on the V-Day challenge everyone!
thanks, BUT I'M HEADED IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!!!!!!!! just kidding. i'm really hard on myself when i don't accomplish the things i'm trying to. it's hard for me to deal with trying for something and not getting it. that sounds selfish but that's just the way i am.
I have a new nephew.

Even when I try to stay away from the evil weigh in, thread momma won't let me! This is from another thread:
oh yeah - PS -
due to the drinking, we will NOT be weighing in today.
Send your crisco my way, WEndeeee!
OK, I'll just put you down for a gain of like 7 or 8 pounds ;) No problem.
GET on the scale! No free pass for you!
It'll just make next week look good. PLUS, you'll single handedly screw up my entire spread sheet.

wendy - I know you're kidding.
I already ate!
This is true love, let me tell you.
I'm dragging my fat, hungover rear up the stairs and weighing in.
YOU OWE ME! heheh
Alright people.
I'm actually down 2 pounds from last week.
Woo!
But I'm up two pounds from where I was on Monday.

okay.......i was really getting down on myself about this 2 pound gain. i know it's silly but really.....i've been hovering around 134-136 for the past 3 months or so now and i'm really annoyed with it. i know i should be thankful that i'm almost to my goal but it's driving me crazy that i can't reach it!!! especially because i'm really trying now.
however......i just saw this picture and now i'm not so discouraged any more. this was taken by anna and it's of me and luke (her little boy) in savannah in october 2006, before i started any sort of diet.......

comparing that to this full-body shot of me taken in september 2007 (and i'm the same size now as i was in september)......i feel so much better!

YOu look great! Have you ever stopped to consider that maybe you are exactly where you should be. Maybe your body is telling you this is where you should be. Those few more pounds you're looking to lose are really just a number. You're slim, fit and strong. I think you have now acheived perfection! Stop going after that number. Just keep doing what your doing to stay your new healthy gorgeous self. If more is meant to come off, it will. If not, it's ok you look and feel great.

Good evening peeps. Aaron is it possible to change my V challenge to 5 lb. There is no way I'm going to lose 10.6 lb in three weeks. If not I'll just do the best I can. I'm off to the first pizza party:scared1:

okay.......i was really getting down on myself about this 2 pound gain. i know it's silly but really.....i've been hovering around 134-136 for the past 3 months or so now and i'm really annoyed with it. i know i should be thankful that i'm almost to my goal but it's driving me crazy that i can't reach it!!! especially because i'm really trying now.
however......i just saw this picture and now i'm not so discouraged any more. this was taken by anna and it's of me and luke (her little boy) in savannah in october 2006, before i started any sort of diet.......

This is something that really bugs me about dieting. I'm in the same boat you are (well, you're sitting on the top deck by the pool while I'm still a few floors below you). My "goal" weight is 155. But let's say I get stuck at 157 (keep in mind I'm still a good 20 pounds away from this). Does that mean that I've failed? Who's to say that my body's ideal weight isn't 157? Should I be upset because someone, some time, said that a male my age and height should be 155; but I can't seem to lose those last two pounds? Why do we get so hung up on one or two little pounds? I don't know. Maybe it is because it is such an accomplishment to lose those few pounds when we first start off, that we realize how much of a difference they can make when they all add up. But when we are within a pound or two of our goals, I think we can give ourselves a pass for not being EXACTLY where a doctor or some mystery chart online tells us we need to be. And maybe I only feel this way because when I eventually come close to my goals, I'll have had to have lost so much (in my case 80+ pounds) that being 1-2 pounds overweight (if 1-2 pounds can really be considered "overweight") won't be so bad. Maybe that's just a defeatist attitude, but darn it I won't let a few measly pounds take away from my joy of coming so far. So stand tall and be proud of what you've accomplished! Don't let those last few pounds get you down.

WIDisneyFan - Thanks for keeping track of the weightloss, I find it quite motivating to see what everyone has lost! I agree on the weight loss. When I did WW the first time round I had to amend my target weight by 3lbs, as I stayed the same weight for around 8 weeks, no matter what I did! My WW leader just sat me down and said 'I think this is your goal weight!'!

If not, it's ok you look and feel great.

thanks for your words of encouragement. and you guys make a good point. i guess i just want to see what 130 pounds feels like. so for once i can say i actually weigh what my driver's license says i do! :lmao: anyway, i'm still striving for that 130 number, but i'm forgiving myself for not reaching it as fast as i had originally wanted to. once i reach it, i think i'm just going to try to maintain a weight between 130-135. that seems healthy to me. besides, i just went to the weight watchers website and found an ideal weith calculator (http://www.weightwatchers.com/health/asm/calc_healthyweight.aspx) and it says the recommended maximum for someone my height between the ages of 25 and 45 is 135 pounds, which is what i weighed this morning.
YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!! :grouphug:

Aaron- now that was a good rant! I'm not in the same boat yet...but I'm running towards the figurative Pier. I think I can see the boat though! Do NOT add me to your chart or I'll be cursed. :lovestruc But good luck to everyone ON it officially.
Punkin- I have no idea what to tell you. I keep hoping it'll be your big week. I'm wondering if you're losing inches instead? Gaining muscle? I saw you in Sept. and was insanely impressed with your petite-ness. I say try something totally different and see if it helps. Maybe try low carb? Cleanse? :confused3 I relate to your "before" picture. I have a pear shape too. GRRRR! Trouble with pears is we lose from the top to the bottom! DANG! I don't need my CHEST to go away while my bottom is still in it's full pear glory!
The weight chart said my weight for my height and age should be 135-162.NO WAY! That is too low for me. My lowest adult weight was 160 and I was so sick looking. I say 170 is good. Course, last time I dieted I did not really exercise. Big different.

i'm SUCH a pear! and i probably always will be. i always lose the weight in my face, arms, chest and stomach first, then the butt and thighs are dead last. hence why jeans do not EVER fit me right. i have a comic on the fridge that's from "glamour" magazine. it's a daughter and mother standing in the kitchen counter and they're both "pear" shaped and the mother's saying to the daughter, "honey......you can't fight mother nature. our family tree yielded pears." i can SO relate to that because i'm shaped just like my mom!

Hi Peeps! Sorry I'm late with weigh in info. I forgot!!! I was up 1 lb the other morning when I weighed at home. I keep hovering in the same range, but I think part of this was due to the holidays. I'm not doing much to help this weekend. We are heading to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner tonight. But at least we've been busy and had no time for snacking. AND it seems that sometime in the last year I have learned that I don't ALWAYS HAVE to have dessert! Who knew??? :confused3 I thought it was required. :rotfl: I haven't had dessert yet on this trip.
Our first day of shopping went well. No rain today. I got the long-sleeved Alice T-shirt that I've been eye-ing online at the Disney Store today on sale for like $8! (I think punkin has it too.) I also got a Nine West purse I had eyed recently when a friend and I went shopping. We went into the Nine West on Michigan today, and it was there and on sale for $19.99! Key Buy! (as DH and I like to say) And it's lime green patent "gator"! I'll post a pic when we get home maybe. AND we went to Sephora where I burned a gift card a friend gave me for my b-day. All-in-all a good day. Not DL, but a good day. I'm gonna rest a bit before we head off to dinner. My feet are hurting. Talk to ya all later!

Dawn you look great, but I so understand your frustration. #1 do you feel good #2 Do you like the way you are. If you can answer yes then you are where you need to be.
I NEED ADVICE
DS was invited to a birthday party for 3 kids and they are not siblings. It is a big 13 party. DO I buy a gift for all 3 or just the one that gave him the invitation. It is for 2 boys and 1 girl. Money is very tight since my paycheck was docked a grand and more if you count the money I usaully make from tutoring since I was on maternity leave and could not do. I can swing all 3 gifts but they would be small. Just curious about the proper way to handle. Thanks
Off to the store and then to class  I sooooo do not want to go to class.

I think you only need to get a gift for the kid who invited him, but if he would feel uncomfortable with that, maybe just get a little token gift for the other 2. You definitely don't have to get anything substantial for the other 2. I don;t have a clue what to get for boys as I have all girls, but if the girl is not the one who invited him, you might want t just get her a $5.00 bouquet of flowers or a cheap bracelet or earrings.

Well I almost took a sledgehammer to my scale this morning,
Now it says I lost weight!
Can't put down the Twilight book. I started yesterday. Read as much as I could inbetween EVERYTHING!
Thanks for recommending it. I just went ahead and ordered the first 3. So, I'll be busy reading.
Instead of eating.
AND yesterday I ordered my family a pizza cause of my funk. I ate salad. I almost took a teeny piece of pepperoni bread, but I didn't.
Someone said somewhere, don't let your funk get you in the end and sabotage it by comfort eating. Something like that. Thanks. Cause those words stuck in my head and when I was tempted, those words stopped me.
That proves how important my peeps are to me and my success here.
Tim and I have to go to a going away party for an employee of his tonight. I am already freaking cause I have to be around people in public with nothing nice to wear. Nothing nice fits.

Wendy, I know that you said that about yourself... but, why do others say that about us (me)? I'm 5'6, and 4 years ago, I went from about 200 in August of 2003 to about 140ish in July 2004. Granted, in August 2003 I broke up with my boyfriend-yes, the one that just left me in August for his now-wife (gee... Because family members are doo-doo heads! At least mine are. Plus my family members are chubby girls and possibly a little jealous of threatened at the time? :confused3
The charts are just a guideline. This I know. Go with what is healthy for you.
Still my goal is 165-170 or size 9/10 then I'll re-evaluate. Keeping it off or not letting it get out of hand or not getting pregnant is the real battle. No, I had a hysterectomy so the odds are in my favor ;)
By the way...you look BEAUTIFUL! You don't look sick!!!!

YAY Sandy!!!!! Our Hero! Bummer they ran out of medals! That just BLOWS!
Is there any other LoW Carb-er's out there? Besides me Mo and Bo???
I have a killer low-carb pizza recipe I found on LowCarbFriends.com...it isn't for the calorie counters or ww, I don't think because of the pepperoni and bacon and sausage and cheese....(feel your cholesterol rising) but it's a special treat and my kids actually loved it! No, there's no funky flour or tofu involved. I can post it here or PM it if anyone wants it.
DEEP DISH PIZZA
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, 1 ounce (I used the kind in a can)
1/4 teaspoon oregano or Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
8 ounces Italian cheese blend or mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 cup pizza sauce
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
Assorted toppings: pepperoni, ham, sausage, 4 ounce can mushrooms, green peppers, bacon, ground beef, etc.
Dash of garlic pepper or garlic powder and some Italian seasoning for top of pizza
In a medium bowl, whisk the cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Whisk in the eggs until the mixture is well-blended and smooth. Add the parmesan and seasonings, then stir in the 8 ounces of mozzarella until completely moistened. Spread the cheese mixture evenly in a well-greased 9x13" glass baking dish or lightly greased and lined with parchment paper (see note below). Bake at 375º 20-25 minutes or until evenly browned, but not too dark. Let cool completely on a wire rack. When nearly cooled, take a metal spatula and carefully pry up the edges to loosen from pan. Ease the spatula under the whole crust to loosen. Keep the crust in the pan. This makes it easier to remove the finished pizza later. Refrigerate, uncovered, until shortly before serving time.
Spread the chilled crust with the pizza sauce, then the cheese and toppings of your choice. Lightly sprinkle with the seasonings of your choice. Bake at 375º about 15-20 minutes or until toppings are bubbly. Let stand a few minutes before cutting.
Makes 8 servings
Can be frozen
Per Serving: 304 Calories; 25g Fat; 17g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 2g Net Carbs
I don't recommend making this in a metal baking pan as it will stick making the pizza very difficult to remove and the pan very hard to clean.
I think I may have discovered the secret to a crispy crust. I left the baked crust uncovered in the refrigerator for several hours. I think that allowed it to dry out a bit so that it became crisp during the second baking with the toppings. I was able to pick the pizza up in my hands.
NOTE: If you lightly grease the pan and line it with parchment paper, you'll have no trouble removing the pizza from the pan later. Greasing the pan makes the parchment stick to it so you can easily spread the crust batter.

August is a GREAT month for me) ,- graduated college, moved home and really didn't do anything for a month. And that's all people told me, was that I looked sick. Here, I am, finally happy with a number I see, and happy with how I feel, and people are telling me that I look sick, especially family. WTH?! Maybe they become so accustom to us being "bigger" than when we are "smaller", that it doesn't look right. :confused3 Anyone have any insight?
maybe you need to just get a little tan going and that'll make you look healthier!

Hey Everybody~ thanks for the Birthday Wishes! I am having a great day!:goodvibes
I'm vwey==very tired!! My eyse, brain, and fingers are not functioning correctly! eesh!
My first mile I did it in 12 min! :faint: I slowed down, that coulda killed me!! got to the magic kingdom and thought "I may never pass this way again" so I took pictures of pooh and me, Fairy Godmother and me - slowed down for the official photos - and stopped to pee in Frontierland, in a real potty thank you very much - - with A/C wooHOO!! but that took 4 min - felt lolonger!!
Mile 6 was the first sweep - we were told we were 7 - 8 min ahead of sweepers, and I was being passed right and left by walkers - honest I tried to stay up; with the walkers - adn got further and further behind...
Mile ten, I was told on the event/comp theread that no more sweeping - and at ten I was 4 min ahead of the dang sweepers - then a HUGE highway on ramp that looped up around and up again, (overpassing where mile ten was) and when you got to the top of the hill, I cried for all those that were swept - no one was behind us -
Mile 11 2 min ahead of sweepers - and a long way to go before 12 - the sweepers said Mile 12 was the last sweep, and I was 2 min ahead - I cant do it - this wonderful young man (who was tall and heavy - ) he was alone - (oh the Dis WISH team - in full force at MK - I cried - full force somewhere after or at the TTC - and Maheare ran with me giving me confidence for quite a few feet!! and people passing me reading my shirt encouraged me as well!!)
So back to this kid (maybe 20 years old!) he says as we get to the top of the dang hill - COME ON you can see MILE 12 - we didnt get this far NOT to get a medal!! And the WISHERS were beyond mile 12 and I cried and shook (I was in shock I wasnt going to be swept!) but had to run around the behind Epcot by the bathrooms then come out somewhere by the ball and run to the World showcase, turn and run back to Guest RElations - the kid ran ahead, and we high 5'd what an inspiration he was for me!!
Get around Guest RElations and A gospel choir - yep, cried again!! Get thru and see the WISHers again - I'm ok now - get my official crossing time - 4hours and some minutes - get a metal blanket, get my chip off - but where's the medal! IWANT MY DONALD....
so there you have it... and for those of you that have a faith in miracles -
Friday morning I wake up early, go get coffee (we'rea t Beach Club Villas) on the way I see the Landscape guys make small talk, go inside with my full cup of coffee and my tea... and WHOOSH - I lost it - my feet went up in the air, and I feel on my bottom, my arms hit hard (not my elbows)
I ddint get hurt! (my big toe felt like I stubbed it it still hurts!!) so I get up to my room and burst into tears - I know God is watching out for me!!

Thanks.
I guess I am a cheapo because I would only buy for the kid that invited your DS.
monymony3471 Yeah for you on the pizza. Last night was day 1 of 2 of my pizza dinners and I ate three pieces and two servings of salad. I wish I didn't eat that third piece but I heard it calling me from the box. I have to go to a Christening tomorrow and have nothing to wear so I know the feeling.
Punkin I say go to WDW for New Years. My cousin and his family where just there, I'll ask him tomorrow about the crowds, he'll be at the christening too with his family.
Looks like Sandy didn't get swept. She's a running! Here are my first 2 alerts!

Mo! How's it going, lady?
I am at the very end of the second book, New Moon. I will start the third one today! Most riveting. But let me say that the second book was not what I was expecting. Still good though.
I weighed myself again today and I am UP .4 pounds! WTHeck? :confused3
Yeah I weighed today too and saw about an <1 lb gain.. bleah. Hopefully it is gone by next Friday. I really need to stop weighing so much.
i have a question for you guys....i'm playing with the idea of going to WDW for new years next year, from 12/30 to 1/5. do you think i'm crazy? i know it's gonna be crowded.....:scared1:
I hate crowds, so I wouldn't do it... I hear you have to be in the park that you want to spend the NY in by about 10AM or you won't get in. But, it is up to you...

I thought I'd bring it over here - because one of you may run it too! (PS Thanks Wendy I need a nap, but I may never wake up - and we have adrs for Cape May in 30 min - food before sleep :sad2:
QUOTE>I'll write more later, but I have to start the thread out with sincere gratitude for the WISH team. I could not have done it without any of you - you cannot imagine how much I took from each and everyone of you!! THANK You...
rounding the bend into the MK - I cried - then HIGH FIVED the WISH team - a WISHER was down right by the turn into Tomorrowland, sorry I forget her name, but it was blisters, and she encouraged me to keep running!! Bless HER!!
Charles told me not to take pictures - but, I may never pass this way again, and didnt stand in line, but got one with Piglet, Fairy Godmother, slowed down for the castle picture (I came a long way Baby) Stopped in Frontierland for the a/c privy's (non porta potties!!)
Hit Mile 6 - pic with YoHo Capn Jack - around and out of the MK to be told we were 8 min ahead of sweepers...
and so the saga began - from Charles, I knew if I made it to mile ten I'd be good - I got to mile ten (4 min a head of sweepers - tough and right by the Purple teams 16min pace guy - I couldnt keep up with him - I couldnt keep up with anyone - one team had on their shirt how far did Jesus walk for you (or something) I kept trying to keep up with Jesus - Jesus was too fast for me!!
Somewhere along this route the screamers were htere - Bless Mahaere/ Anne, she ran alongside of me giving me courage, and her strength... so many people that passed me, patted me on the back "LOVE your shirt, Dead Last Finish is greater than Did not start - keep it up, you're making it!!"
Mile 11 I['m ahead by 2 min - I call dh, I'm not going to make it... its such a long stretch down and then up as we rounded the curve you could tell they were swept - they started the traffic, I wanted to cry for them - knowing I'd be next...
down a long stretch then up that dang hill - and a nice young kid very overweight and tall, told me at the top of the hill - "come on, we didnt come this far we're not going without a medal" down to 12 - I really hated seeing the bikers with the sweep flags - really hatedd them...
Round the corner, made it to 12... and saw our Cheer team... I still cry when I think of it!! I started shaking, hoping I wouldnt go into shock, I kept it up... someone gave me a bottle of cold water - loved that, needed that, I ran with a washcloth, and the cold water on teh cloth was great, but I felt like I had miles to go before I could stop... miles to go...
ran by the fountain, people wanted to play - and run in our path - its tough knowing youre last - my guy was able to run ahead, and as he passed me on the way back to the fountain, I let him know he was an inspiration - and he said "I told you we'd get that medal" (remember this please)
So now I round the corner, trying hard not to break into tears... trying to look like a "runner" and not able to keep up with the walkers - cried when I heard the Gospel singers~!
FINALLY I see it (cue the music) THE FINISH LINE!! I cross that - get my blannkie, take my chips... WHERE's MY MEDAL??? "go to the information line' The purple people kept pushing me away from the packet pickup - and I WANT my MEDAL!! They had medals - I WANT MY MEDAL>>> (spoiled brat that I am!!)
So dh comes up, the WIHSERs are great, but they dont have my medal,, the information line was 400 strong - I go up while dh stands in line - 5 volunteers 5 different answers, but basically, your chip has your info, we'll mail them!!
so NO MEDAL FOR ME!!
I didnt cry, I just want to go home and get drunk!! Well maybe a cheeseburger first!!
UPDATE - we're staying at BCV - and I told my sob story to the conceirge desk, she made calls, manager, managers managers -
MY MEDALS AT THE EXPO - until 7 tonight!! ( and those info people did say more than once - "DO NOT go to the expo, even if they come in they wont go there!! )
bye, the neighbor next door we met on the balcony last night while illuminations, she's going to drive me!! MUY MEDAL

Selfish promotion here!!
The neighbor also finished near last and didnt get her medal, but found out I talked to the lady at the front desk, so she knocked on my door and drove me to the expo, we both burst into tears as the Volunteer placed the medal around our necks and said " on behalf of hte Walt Disney Marathon, we apologize for running out of medals, congratulations on a wonderful marathon"
Yep, I'm emotional!!

Ooops I just realized I spelt Medal wrong on Sandy's pre-trip....
Man, that low carb pizza is FILLING.
I ate like a 4 inch square and was stuffed.
I'm super pissed because my DS18 took 3/4 of one pizza (I doubled the recipe so it was kind of expensive to make) with him to work. The other pizza (7x11 ") had to feed the rest of us!

Well peeps, I leave for WDW in 5 hours. I haven't packed yet but I did get the food cooked, bagged and ready for my dogs so the dogsitter doesn't have to stress over it. I wouldn't want my one-eyed hairless food addict to miss a meal while I'm gone.
Just wanted to say congrats to you Sandy for achieving such a milestone today. You are my hero. And Allie, I hope you and your daughter had a great time on your quest also. I'll be looking for you at the airport tomorrow pm.
I'm off for a week of eating. I can feel myself gaining weight as I sit here just thinking about WDW. So wish me luck that I don't gain more than 5 lbs while I'm there and I'll be back at the end of next weekend to check up on your guys.

Happy Birthday Pixie!

Now that's just cute - I'll add my happy birthday wishes to Monica's!!!!
i have a question for you guys....i'm playing with the idea of going to WDW for new years next year, from 12/30 to 1/5. do you think i'm crazy? i know it's gonna be crowded.....:scared1:
I saw your later post and everybody says early December is a great time to go and should be a way to get in the spirit, but I've got to say we were there for New Year's Eve 2000/2001, and we had a blast!! I would do it every year if I could, but January is very busy for me. Our only complaint was it was very cold, but we escaped a snowy Mississippi so it happened to be cold everywhere at that particular time. It's Disney - I bet either will be a great trip!
I dint get hurt! (my big toe felt like I stubbed it it still hurts!!) so I get up to my room and burst into tears - I know God is watching out for me!!
so thankful you didn't get hurt and inspired and proud you that you did it. So proud I just sat here and cried. Yea for you & Allie and her daughter too! Have fun!
Well peeps, I leave for WDW in 5 hours.
Have a wonderful trip!

I have lurked from time to time but I havent been active on the boards since last summer. There has just been so much going on and I was so blue all the time. I was beginning to feel like Debby Downer dragging you all down with me!
In the past few months this is a little of what wass going on:
Mom got diagnoses early alzheimer's disease and seems to be progressing a lot faster than we anticipated
Dad has lung cancer but right now it is in remission
Younger sis has COPD and will not quit smoking despite hospitalized several times
Husband moved out and filed for divorce-as it turns out this is not a bad thing
Daughter in college and bills are killing me-but she got some scholarship money and a 4.0 this semester!
Son having trouble in school since husband left-starting to do better
One friend died and another has stage 4 breast cancer and is not doing well-feel so helpless and sad for her and her kids
Multiple home repairs and concerns-flood,leaks,broken window, things keep falling apart and I keep duct taping it all for now
daughter wrecked my car-she is ok but car was ruined so there was another unplanned expense
I guess when it rains it pours but I am going to make the best of it. I refuse to let this stuff destroy me.
Now on the plus side:
I decided to change my own luck
I started taking taekwondo lessons and already earned my second belt and lost some pounds
I rejoined weight watchers and got my 5# star but I need the support I get here more than just at ww mtgs
I am walking as much as possible
My son and I are taking a quickie trip to WDW in Feb! Woo Hooty!
Since I needed a car I got myself the one IO have been wanting for years a new shiny light blue Rav 4. Okay not new but new to me. it is a 2007.
I may just be losing my mind but I am going by myself (despite fear of flying and doing stuff by myself) on a plane to Scotland to meet my pen pal, a handsome, sweet Scottish guy. I cant believe I am doing this!
So, is it okay for me to just come back after such a long absence?

Hey everyone. Lot's of emotion here this weekend. I'm still riding on Sandy's accomplishment. Allie's and her daughter's too. It made me run on my tread mill yesterday as much as I could. Makes me think I'd like to try a 5K in WDW some day. Or even a few here.
Inspiration comes from so many places. This is the best thread I've ever been a part of. I thank ALL of you. I've just been so successful in dieting when I am here actually dieting. The numbers just keep going down and I am so pleased.
The friends you make here are hard to find in your own hometown. I feel everyone truely cares. It's so nice that I can come here and feel so homey.
SO THANKS TO MY HOMEYS!!!
This sounds so good. I am trying it this week.

Have a great time. Just eat til you are full. If it's something really bad, take a few bites. You don't have to eat everything. Fill up on the good stuff first. And remember you will be doing a ton of walking that will burn those extra calories.
So, is it okay for me to just come back after such a long absence?
I am so sorry for all the craziness in your life. But it sounds like you are turning things around. :welcome: back! I recongnized you right away!
Lots of familiar faces joining us or rejoining us. It's nothing but a big party over here! The more the merrier.

I am loving the new car but it is a gas pig! Oink!:rotfl2:
So, I talk to this wonderful man who lives all the way over across the Atlantic and one day he said if I ever came there I would have a place to stay.In a moment of insanity I booked a flight. I leave in April. Now my biggest concern is not even the switching planes and navigating such a trip solo. It isnt even that the steering wheel and roads are opposite of here. My greatest worry is that he is going to be just as wonderful in person and then what? We live o different continents and each have children and older parents. Trying to just think in baby steps.
The friends you make here are hard to find in your own hometown. I feel everyone truely cares. It's so nice that I can come here and feel so homey.
SO THANKS TO MY HOMEYS!!! I feel the same way:hug:

Well peeps, I leave for WDW in 5 hours.
i know you're already gone, but have a wonderful, MAGICAL time!!!! :wizard:
Sorry 'bout that! I didn't even watch the game because I didn't think we had a chance against Vandy?! Why couldn't the Cats have pulled it out like that against Loo-uh-vull?
it was a really good game. vandy came back after being 16 points behind and they played two overtimes. i was screaming at the TV and eli was hiding under the bed. :rotfl: i was proud of my team, even though they just couldn't seem to keep the lead.
snowwhite-WELCOME BACK! :goodvibes so sorry to hear about your crappy year. i'm sure things will turn around. my brother was 15 when my dad and my stepmom (his mother) split up and had a hard time with it. one day we had a talk about it and i explained to him that right now it stinks, but that this could lead to new and better things - for example, if my parents had never split up when i was 4, my dad wouldn't have married my stepmom and i wouldn't have my brother and my sister in my life. when i said that i think it helped to change his attitude about things. it's hard to look at the future positives in a divorce when you're that age.
have fun and be careful in scotland! how exciting!
Makes me think I'd like to try a 5K in WDW some day.
they're having a 5K in WDW on the day we leave, saturday may 3rd. i considered doing it but i just don't know. it's not the race that scares me - that part excites me just because i see how great people feel after accomplishing it! it's the fact that we check out and leave that day. so i wouldn't have anything to look forward to after the race but a long drive home. :sad2:

I'm starting to revert to lurk mode. I checked in several times yesterday but didn't post any. I need to stay on track; if I don't, my weight will control me. I'm having a hard time getting on the TM this weekend. I think it's just so cold out and all I want to do is curl up and watch tv.
Happy Birthday Shawna and Pixie!
Sandy~ I am so proud of you!!! You are an inspiration to all of us! I am trying your trick re: if I do this, can I go to WDW? DH is reserved but seems to be on board for now.
Snowite~ Welcome back! I was gone for a while, too. I also felt like a downer and didn't want to infect everyone with my bad mood.
Allie~ Congrats to you and your DD!
Tiny little update on me~ I didn't do so well of Friday, points were off the charts again. I did much better yesterday though. It's DS's b-day today and he wants to go to Macaroni Grill. I looked up points this morning and :scared1:  :scared1: Most entrees are 20 or more pts!!!!!! I have a plan and I'm going to stick to it. There is a Skinny Chicken meal that is 6 pts paired with a salad it's 9 pts. If I am careful with my choices between now and then, I'll be just fine.
We went to visit with friends last night (or new Sat pm routine) and we talked about our upcoming Ren Faire. (Upcoming in Oct, we are on the planning commitee.) They decided to have some advertising in our program this year and a small ad is really cheap so I'm going to try my best to get my jewelry done and get a website set up so I can put in an ad and make a bit more $$. I also get to work to try to solicit another local organization to sponsor an area of the fair. We had a great idea but ran into a bit of a snag with it (way too much $$ for us right now) so if I can pull this off it'll be a really cool thing! Our idea was a fairy garden in the middle of the faire, a quiet place for people to rest and relax but the nurseries we talked to would only let us rent the plants for 70% of the retail value.
Back to DS's b-day, he wants to be a chef when he grows up and he asked for baking pans for his b-day so he can bake his own two layer cake. He was going to make a boxed cake but I am surprising him with a baking lesson. :goodvibes

Pakey, I am sending you tons of Mojo and a  for good measure. I had not read until this post that the cancer is back. I have no doubt that someone with such a great sense of humor and outlook on life will be able to fight back again.
:lmao: ...hairless, one-eyed, foo-foo, food addicted, steroid taking pup...:lmao: poor guy.
I hope you are having a wonderful time in disney!!

Wendy I hope that you feel better soon. Don't really know what cold remedy foods you can have with SB. I woulf offer you some meds from CVS that I got basically for free, but by the time they got there you would be better. If you have not checked out the CVS thread you should. This week alone I got $100 worth of stuff (that I needed anyway) for $20.

snowwhite - you asked about the peep meet. if you're referring to the one in september at 'ohana's, then i know wendy wrote about it in her TR and so did i. you can find the link to my TR in my siggie (the september 2007 one). it's easy to find because i have links to the next installment at the end of each installment. i wish i could've gone to the kona cafe meet later that week! the ohana one was fun but it was so loud and chaotic in there that i didn't feel like we all got to talk to each other as much as we wanted to.
RAY BOUGHT GUITAR HERO TODAY! :rockband: we've been playing a good bit of the day and my back is KILLING me! must be the way i have to hold the guitar and my scoliosis that don't mix. OUCH! :headache: it's a fun game, though.

Hey, there, Peeps! :yay:
Today I went to the eye doctor for the first time. I'm getting spectacles! I'm kind of excited about them. They won't be ready until Wednesday, but I will post a pic so you can tell me whether I look any smarter!
DH and I went to Applebee's for lunch, and I was sooo tempted to cheat. I really wanted the Asian Chicken salad! But the dressing has sugar in it, and there are crispy noodles and the chicken has breading on it. (I am on Atkins). But I finally forced myself to order a steak with bleu cheese and bacon on it, and veggies. I'm happy I did. Mine came with a little dessert, but I gave it to DH.

heather - i justify DH's spending on video games with my spending on disney stuff. :rolleyes1

i LOVE this salad! i think you can get the chicken grilled instead of fried. but that still doesn't solve the problem of the dressing.
did you see the salad they have with shrimp and spinach? i love that one too. not sure if you can have that one on atkins or not.

I had a great time at dinner and stuck with my plan! I had a few bites from the shared appetizers and a skiny piece of cake DS and I made. I am very proud of myself.
I did go 1/2 mile on the TM today, but it's not enough. I need do at least a mile everyday, should be more. I'm going to have to start challenging myself more. I'm already doing a 15 min mile, I just have to go the whole mile. That'll be my goal for the early part of the week. I want to walk the entire distance from my house to the mouse this year. I did the math and need to do 3 miles a day. I'm already behind a lot.
I've got to run and work on my taxes a bit. I got one of my W-2 forms so I need to enter it into our tax program. TTYL!

 feel better soon.
snowwhite - you asked about the peep meet. if you're referring to the one in september at 'ohana's, then i know wendy wrote about it in her TR and so did i. you can find the link to my TR in my siggie (the september 2007 one). it's easy to find because i have links to the next installment at the end of each installment. i wish i could've gone to the kona cafe meet later that week! the ohana one was fun but it was so loud and chaotic in there that i didn't feel like we all got to talk to each other as much as we wanted to.
RAY BOUGHT GUITAR HERO TODAY! :rockband: we've been playing a good bit of the day and my back is KILLING me! must be the way i have to hold the guitar and my scoliosis that don't mix. OUCH! :headache: it's a fun game, though.
Thanks for the info on the peep meet. I didnt get to go either. Maybe next time if it becomes an annual event.
My son is totally obsessed with guitar hero but I havent tried it yet. Looks like fun

Back to DS's b-day, he wants to be a chef when he grows up and he asked for baking pans for his b-day so he can bake his own two layer cake. He was going to make a boxed cake but I am surprising him with a baking lesson. :goodvibes
Mine too. He wants to be a pastry chef and work at WDW.
Hey, there, Peeps! :yay:
Today I went to the eye doctor for the first time. I'm getting spectacles! I'm kind of excited about them. They won't be ready until Wednesday, but I will post a pic so you can tell me whether I look any smarter!

Good job BO! I'm so proud of you. I would have skipped the bleu cheese, it doesn't work for me. A steak sounds yummy.
As we speak, I'm curled up in bed dying with a cold and slight fever so I can't get anyone up and moving today. My TM is just sitting there today too (and yesterday). I don't have DISH network any more and there's nothing on TV right now. POOH!
What no more books to read? Try making some chicken soup. Feel better.

I am trying to get back to my 13min. mile. I have to run more. Working on it. I also have to do at least 2 miles. I know what you mean about pushing yourself. Saturday I almost feel off the treadmill. I'm ok, it was funny though. Not easy being so out of breath and trying not to laugh.
It's another week. Do you want to be on the negative on Friday or the positive. This is the only way permissible to be negative.

Sandy321 I am proud of you and hope someday I get to run in that marathon. I cried everytime you said you did. I have a rule no one should Pakey Sorry you won't probably read this until you get home but have a fun trip. I am sure you won't gain more thatn 5 lb because you'll be walking around so much. But enjoy and give Mickey a give kiss for me.
Punkin I talked to my cousin yesterday and he said it was way too crowded for him. He said the waits to get onto rides were like 2 hours and people were pushing him in line:eek: Then I talked to his wife and she said that if you weren't in the parks by 12 you couldn't get in at all for that day.
I tried to quote others but it won't me. I'll go back and read the rest now. The kiddos have a snow day today. We were supposed to get 8 to 10 inches well guess what it's only 2:sad2: The kids are happy because they have no school, mommy's not so happy because I have to go to the bank to get a cashier's check. Me and DH bought a new car and we need a cashier's check for tomorrow when we pick it up. It's a Honda Odessy in black cherry pearl, very pretty. Can't wait to put my grumpy on the back window, it says "back off I'm grumpy". I bought in WDW 4 years ago and have been waiting to put it on my car. Anyway, I did ok at the christening yesterday. I had a small piece of steak (about half of a deck of cards), salad, a piece of chicken piccata (my favorite chicken dish), and half of my plates was steamed veggies and a diet coke. Then of course a coffee and a small piece of cake. It was banana filled I couldn't resist. Anyway I told the kids if they are good at the bank we'll go to the mall and go to Build a Bear, they got gift cards from Santa. Talk to you later.
Misty - I hope you are feeling better today.
Any news on Allie and her daughter and the marathon?

Love it, thanks for posting
Hi everybody! :wave2: I just wanted to stop in a say hello! Thanks for the birthday wishes on Tuesday ~ I got the message from Amy (Harley) that I needed to get my buns on here and check it out. It's nice to be remembered, especially since I have been such a slacker on keeping up with this thread...I still love you all though! :grouphug:
I am starting back on my serious weight management journey tomorrow and part of my goal is to get back up to date with my Peeps! :hyper2:
Welcome back. We have never met, my name is Laura and I am doing WW.
pakey---HAVE AN AWESOME TRIP!!!! YOU DESREVE IT  My mom makes her own food for her children as well---was mad when the people only had a microwave for people consumption. She could not phathom her babies eating cold food. She told them that she only has one microwave as well---but we are family---I swear they treat their dogs better than they did us lol
DH's aunt when we puppy sat a couple of years ago made us microwave his food too. DH thought she was nuts.
I'm sorry to hear about what happend, here's a hug:hug: A scotty huh, :thumbsup2
Lots of familiar faces joining us or rejoining us. It's nothing but a big party over here! The more the merrier.
Amen to that

Applybee's I get their WW dishes. Very good chicken one they have. Half of the plate is broccoli and they have WW french onion soup which is quite tasty too.
Mine too. He wants to be a pastry chef and work at WDW.
That's what I want to do when I grow up. I told DH I want to go to school for it when the kids are all in school and then we can move to FL
Happy Monday Peepers :)

We did it!!! :cool1: :yay:  :cheer2: I don't know if Sandy reported it or not, but DD and I finished the 5K in 58:30 minutes. The timer said 1:00:30 when we crossed the finish line, but I forgot that it took us a little over 2 minutes just to GET to the start line. :headache: DD did great! She couldn't run much because I made her drink a little water before (note - you are to never change your routine before a race), and it made her stomach a little upset. (probably from all the sloshing;) ) Anyway, once we got to mile 1 and realized that there were still ALOT of people behind us, and that they couldn't really sweep anybody, we just enjoyed ourselves and walked the whole time. It was a great experience for both of us.
I won't have much time to spend on here today because I have lots of :laundy: and other RL things to do.
Oh, I got on the scales and I LOST weight at Disney! I won't report numbers until Friday, but I am excited! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Welcome to a new week peeps!!
I am human once again after my bout with the flu. If nothing else, I lost 7 lbs so that is something to show for all the misety :thumbsup2 I am sure as soon as I eat something besides crackers and toaast I will gain it all back but I will enjoy it for the moment.
And, it is official I have resevations at SSR from 30 Nov to 7 Dec 2008:cheer2: I got myself a handy passporter and I am in full OCD planning mode. My 3 year old is already asking me when are we going. It is going to be a long 10 months :scared:
So I was with my oldest in the bathroom because he likes the support :confused3 and asked me to tell him a story. I tried to give him a book to "read" but he said, "No mommy, your butt is big, if I let go I will fall in".:lmao: Out of the mouths of babes...
Food for the day:
Breakfast: wasn't up for it today
Lunch: Soup with crackers
snack: apple
Dinner: probably more soup? (I still don't trust my stomach)
Gym: taking it easy with 30 min on the stair climber, 20 on the bike, some leg work At least that is the plan.

Hey there peeps! I have been MIA for a few weeks again, very busy around here. Just checking in to say hi and let you all know I am still here. Going to try to catch up soonish :goodvibes
Not much new here to report. Still pregnant. I stopped watching my daycare kiddos this week and stopped teaching dance too. My blood pressure, which is normally on the low side of normal even pregnant, was slightly elevated at my Dr visit last week. They also sent me to see a cardiologist as a precaution (I was feeling my heart race and having palpitations the past 2 weeks) but I checked out all OK. (got to see a sonogram of my heart though and that was pretty cool!) As a precaution I have to take it easy though. One day so far, and I was bored to tears. My c-section is set for Feb 20th, so not too much longer to go!
Hope everyone had a good Holiday!! Anyone want to give me the short version of what I have missed the past 3-ish weeks?

oh, and i had a really good snack tonight. i got some of that laughing cow cheese in french onion flavor and put it on a few wheat thins reduced fat crackers. sooooo good! and the cheese is only 35 calories and very tasty and creamy! the calorie count goes up with the crackers, so you just have to portion them. :thumbsup2

good to see you. Stay healthy!
Our weekend retreat went well. I ate too much but also did a lot of hiking. The weather was beautiful. I did a Kaiser survey on health and nutrition last night, and printed out the results. I haven't had a chance to read it all, but it did encourage me and make me do some soul searching. It said all I "need" to lose to be healthy is 6 lbs, so that's doable. It also asked about what is keeping me from losing the weight, and i looked at how many excuses I make. I think Kat was the one talking about black/white dieting, and I'm the same. Why does a handful of M & Ms have to be followed by ice cream, tortilla chips, and oversized servings of everything? I need to learn that one little slip doesn't have to turn into a binge-fest. And today, I worked on this; if I am tired (especially at work after the kids leave) I am entitled to sit down and relax for a few minutes without eating. Sometimes I eat as an excuse to rest. So today I put on some music, just sat down and relaxed for a few minutes, then got back to work. No junk food necessary. It worked fine.

WE'RE GOING BACK TO DISNEY WORLD IN DECEMBER!!!!!
oh, and i had a really good snack tonight. i got some of that laughing cow cheese in french onion flavor and put it on a few wheat thins reduced fat crackers. sooooo good! and the cheese is only 35 calories and very tasty and creamy! the calorie count goes up with the crackers, so you just have to portion them. :thumbsup2
snowwite - i mean to tell you - if you haven't seen P.S. i love you, you should. the main guy in it is scottish and he's HOT. although it's very sad....you've been warned!
I booked a surprise trip to WDW for Feb for my son's 16th birthday(which is in June) I am so excited:banana:  I would love to do Dec some time and see the park decorated.
Ooh didnt know laughing cow had flavors now.Sounds yummy!
I saw PS I love you and Atonement.I am a glutton for punishment.Funny thing is my Scottish friend though handsome and sweet thinks he is ugly. I laughed out loud when I read it. I guess humble is better than concieted though.I was so worried about what people might think. But when I told my dad I was going and all he did was ask if I needed any money.I am just a little worried that we will get a long in real life as great as we do online and then what? He still lives so far away. But I gotta go. It might be the time of my life! It sure gives me motivation to lose weight!
[QUOTE=dance2874;22588019]Hey there peeps!

Glad to hear all is well and that the baby will be here before you know it! I will be visiting Mickey when you deliver so I will have to say hello for you both.

Dance...good to see you back! Enjoy the down time the next few weeks, as it will be quite busy when the baby comes! :cutie:
Wendy..Someone quoted you regarding "lopsided girls". :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Not sure where the rest of the quote is, or who you are talking about, but I wanted to say I notice that kind of thing too. How can you NOT?!? :confused3
Snowwite...Surprise trips are great!!! Enjoy it!!! :hippie:

WE'RE GOING BACK TO DISNEY WORLD IN DECEMBER!!!!!
we reserved the condo today. i'll fill you guys in all the details later.
we bought tickets to the lion king musical in atlanta on april 6th....can't wait!

We will be there the same time!
Guess what I did? This is so sneaky on my part, but I couldn't help myself. There's a bunch of talk on my November 2008 A long time to Wait Thread about split stays.
So, I did some looking, and before I knew what was happening I had a CM on the phone taking the last 2 nights of our stay off of POR and adding them to the Contemporary.
My kids and I are emmersing ourselves in our last disney vacation videos. I almost know them by heart. Malorie loves watching herself as a "baby". She just bursts out everytime she sees herself with a pacifier.
I just finished TWILIGHT last night and am opening NEW MOON sometime today. Wow, I just couldn't put the book down last night. It was after midnight when I went to bed. 5am came very fast!
Still going strong with the diet thanks to me PEEPS. I started adding very healthy carbs today. Just one piece of 100% whole wheat bread. Later I will have an apple. Didn't realize how nice it was to have an apple.
If you read that article about water, it's true about how you slow down in the peeing department. I think why am I not peeing alot am I drinking enough water. I count, yes I had 10ish so I'm doing good.
Just hang in there with the water. I used to hate it. It just became a part of me. A good habit I kept from all the practice diets.

Glad you are feeling better. Son #2 has been home with a fever the last 2 days, but it started late Friday. I think it finally broke.
You should check out our November long time to wait in the trip planning forums. We are discussing an Illuminations cruise.
I'M BAAAACCCKKK!!!!
Congratulations Allie. You must of had so much fun with your DD!

I never saw the water article...doh! I meant to, but didn't.
I'm dipping whole grain crackers into my tuna salad. 4 precious crackers!
I don't have any other non-vegetable carbs yet.
I'm worried about BREAD. I feel like I might lose control. I like bread too much and never eat just one. Like one wouldn't be enough!
I'm off to the store to gather more diet friendly grub.

Bonnie, funny I was looking for something to support what my sister told me yesterday how we eliminate fat and she said it was from all the peeing we do from drinking water. Not sure. I'm sure it's a combination of several things.
I did find this great article about drinking water. Chug a lug everyone!
water article-good read (http://inchaweigh.tripod.com/water.html)
I was looking back for this and I don't know how I missed all those pictures.
Dawn and Misty you guys look so wonderful. I'm still waiting to "see" a difference. It will take at least 30 pounds for me. And DH, even if he did notice he'll never say anything.

Quick post to say "HI" and to let you know I am still around. Without being able to DIS at work, I am not getting here as much! DARN!!!

I'M BAAAACCCKKK!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!! I am so glad it was such a great experience for you and your daughter. You make me really want to do it next year.
:goodvibes
Don't sweat the Macaroni Grill meal. Unfortunately, sometimes it is unavoidable. I am always amazed by how many calories are in restaurant meals. What do they cook the stuff in??
I love the Ren Faire!! I am looking forward to taking my kids this year. I always treat myself to a unique piece of jewlery when I go. How is a rental at 70% the retail price a deal..:confused3 That is ridiculously expensive.
How old is your DS? He is going to love his gift!! What a great idea.
As we speak, I'm curled up in bed dying with a cold and slight fever so I can't get anyone up and moving today. My TM is just sitting there today too (and yesterday). I don't have DISH network any more and there's nothing on TV right now. POOH!
Are you feeling better yet? You need a new vampire series to keep you occupied.;)
My son is addicted to this he has 1,2, and 3. He now wants rock band. He can have it when he pays for it :rotfl2:
I told my hubby the same thing when he said he wanted a PS3 :lmao:
DH and I went to Applebee's for lunch, and I was sooo tempted to cheat. I really wanted the Asian Chicken salad! But the dressing has sugar in it, and there are crispy noodles and the chicken has breading on it. (I am on Atkins). But I finally forced myself to order a steak with bleu cheese and bacon on it, and veggies. I'm happy I did. Mine came with a little dessert, but I gave it to DH.
Good job choosing well :thumbsup2 . I am addicted to Bleu cheese and have a recipe for it that I love. It is one of my splurge foods.
What a great motivator; running to the mouse from your house. I will have to do the math. A 15 min mile is really good especially just starting out.
* Update: my terrific new boss said that the roads were bad and the lot wasn't plowed at work yet, so i can just work from home this morning and see if it gets better by noon, then i can come in...how cool is he!
:thumbsup2 Great boss!! WE do not get snow days EVER. I hope you enjoyed your "free" day.

You are going to love the "Lion King". We were blown away.
Have you tried the laughing cow ice cream? It is good stuff! If I remember correctly, only 90 calories to boot.
So, I did some looking, and before I knew what was happening I had a CM on the phone taking the last 2 nights of our stay off of POR and adding them to the Contemporary.
I just finished TWILIGHT last night and am opening NEW MOON sometime today. Wow, I just couldn't put the book down last night. It was after midnight when I went to bed. 5am came very fast!
Good for you!!! Have you ever stayed at the Contemporary before? We ended up renting DVC points for our trip during the same time and are now staying at the SSR. However, my DIL's decided to stay in the Tower at the Contemporary so maybe we will get to see you there. I will definitly check out the trip planning mode. I am trying to convince my DH that he wants to take me and his parents on the Illuminations cruise for my birthday and their anniversary, both of which are on the 5th. Two birds with one stone logic and all.
I suspect that you won't get any sleep tonight either since you just started "New Moon". You will have to et me know what you think. I liked the first one better though "New Moon" is still excellent.
BTW, you are doing such a great job sticking to your plan. Way to go!!:cheer2: Now that I am horizontal again I want to get back on my running plan. You are a great motivation. Thanks for that.

Monica--thanks for the link. I knew we needed 8 glasses a day, but I thought you added another 8 for every 10 pounds not 25. Good to know--I am still shooting for 80 ounces a day. Last year when I lost a good bit I was drinking 100 ounces a day. As the article stated at first I felt like all I ever did was go to the restroom, but then I was back to the regular potty a\habits and still drinking all the water.
Have a good one.

Dance: I "wanted to tell you: "TAKE IT EASY" TAKE IT EASY" TAKE IT EASY" TAKE IT EASY" TAKE IT EASY" TAKE IT EASY" TAKE IT EASY"Cause after this baby comes, you will no longer to find that in any dictionary, encylopedia, or web search.
Take advantage of this time to take care of yourself. I hope this is just precautionary steps. But still take advantage of the dr's orders.
born2bird When I was a kid we stayed there twice. I just want to have the convenience of the monorail, walking down to Chef Mickey's for breakfast, coming back for a rest, the pool slide. Then there's the option of Kona's for breakfast too! Oh the plans I'm making! And I am considering just once having the girls go to the "sitter" and us and the boys being able to go out one night and just ride commando at the MK. No stroller, no swapping, etc.
I read the poly is a nice place for that for the kids. And it's just a monorail ride away!
pigget: The benefits of water is just endless.
Wendy: That water article I reposted somewhere on this page. Easy to find. I had the bread the least appetizing way I could. cold and dry. That way I don't want more. Crackers, that would put me over the edge.
My hormones are ragging this week!
It's the meds.

good to see you.
Yup, definitely me!!
Good for you! I need to come up with non-food treats too...

:yay: cool! what are your dates? and we need to share itineraries when we get them done so we can look for each other if we're anywhere at the same time. we're only there for 3.5 days so i'm not sure if i'll have time for a full-fledged peep meet. it's a quickie trip just to see the major christmas stuff. oh, and we're staying off site...... I KNOW! but i found a really cute condo for only $109/night and there's plenty of room for all of us. anna (my BFF/fitness trainer) is going, along with her husband and then-4-year-old. it'll be fun!!!!
I'm still waiting to "see" a difference. It will take at least 30 pounds for me.

Hey y'all~
Just a fly by since it's getting late. I'm hanging out and doing pretty well. I stayed on pts today, slipped a bit yesterday but I was feeling sick so I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I haven't been on the TM since Sun. I need to stay on track. Stupid cold making me feel all icky and stopping up my nose so I can't breathe.
I'm in full fledge planning mode too. Our trip is in 4 mos!! I'm getting so excited. We found out yesterday that friends of ours are joining us this time. They've been mulling it over for a few mos and took the plunge. :woohoo: They're just as Disney crazy as we are. We've discussed the possibility of the moms and kids camping for a few days and the dads staying in a room. (The guys aren't big on bugs and no a/c........ weenies...... ) We're going to have a ton of fun. :woohoo: I do have to leave a bit of time for a peeps meet as Lynda and Kat are going to be there at the same time.
I've got to run, I'll be back in the morning.

Hi all,
I haven't posted in a few days because I haven't been feeling very peepalicious - AF is here, and I just got a bit down about the weight etc and I didn't want to put you all in my 'Fatty Funk', so I just lurked! BUT, today I am on my game, Ive made fab choices so far with breakfast and snacks AND I did my new exercise dvd so that was one hour of mad dancing and getting a sweat on! :rotfl:
I have read back over the pages, but forgot what I wanted to quote!
Snowwite - Hi, we've not 'met' - your year sounds a shocker BUT, as someone (Utahmama?) said - This is your year! AND, Scotland to meet a fella - good for you! Scotland is lovely and the Scottish men - Hello! :lmao:
Dawn - Is it Gerard Butler who is the lead in PS I love you? Ive read the book but not seen the film yet. If its him he played Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, and yes, he was just as gorgeous in that even though he was wearing a mask!
Dawn/Mony - So cool you've booked your trips. I wish I was going back, but with the wedding etc its not to be this year! Next year is so my year for the Mouse!
Everyone else - :wave2: Sorry if I've missed anything important to quote!
Im off to drink my water now, woohoo!

Congratulations Sandy! Congratulations Allie & DD! Great job! :thumbsup2

WE'RE GOING BACK TO DISNEY WORLD IN DECEMBER!!!!!
We will be there the same time!
Congratulations on your upcoming trips! It will be here before you know it. Disney World at Christmas time is awesome.
Everyone- I'm still working on my mini trip report. I'll try to post it this weekend. Nursing classes are going okay. I can start IVs now. This is my 3rd day in class and in my spare time (like I have any) I've critically read several chapters of Nursing texts that amounts to about 18 hours of study time. :confused3 I am so ready for Summer.
Later,

A boy this time around...name still to be determined ;) DH and I just cant agree. Poor baby no-name!
Dh and I were the same with our first son's name and finally agreed on Ian but with our second we both immediately decided on Ethan. Baby boy No-name is good too...:lmao:
born2bird When I was a kid we stayed there twice.
Chef Mickey's is wonderful. They have the best character breakfast:thumbsup2. I really wish we could have sprung for a monorail resort but the $$$ was just too much. We need to buy a minivan and DH is insisting that is more of a priority...:sad2: I am taking my parents an il's with us this time and both have agreed to babysit for us one night so DH and I can have some time to ourselves to hit the BIG rides.
Hi all,
I haven't posted in a few days because I haven't been feeling very peepalicious - AF is here, and I just got a bit down about the weight etc and I didn't want to put you all in my 'Fatty Funk', so I just lurked! BUT, today I am on my game, Ive made fab choices so far with breakfast and snacks AND I did my new exercise dvd so that was one hour of mad dancing and getting a sweat on! :rotfl: !
I understand the "fatty funk" all too well and it really is a downer. IT sounds like you are back on track and kicking butt. Go you!!
Punkin, We will be in WDW 30 Nov - 7 Dec and are staying at the SSR. DIL's will be bedding down at the CR though so we will be there quite a bit as well. We are going to do MVMCP as well. We did it in 2006 and it was a blast!!

Hi all! I've tried skimming through the last 10+ pages since I've somehow managed to fall WAY behind here. I didn't think to quote, so I'll try to do this from memory (scary thought!)
Congrats to our runners! Just the thought of running around my back yard for 10 minutes exhausts me. You are truly an inspiration!
Mony - Two things. First off, you'll be surprised how quickly you'll notice a change. I promise it won't take 30 pounds. But it'll just hit you one day. You'll look in the mirror and think "hey, maybe this dieting thing is actually working!" Second - I'm very biased on this but I LOVE the Contemporary. Like I said though, I'm biased. We stayed there for our honeymoon, and again last September. We love the convenience of walking to and from the Magic Kingdom instead of waiting for a bus or monorail; this is especially nice as you get closer to park closing. Plus, Epcot is just a few short monorail rides away.
Punkin - You are going to love the Lion King musical. I was blown away by the sheer awesomeness of it. In fact, we liked it so much when we saw it 6 months ago that we are going to see it again (different venue) in February. I've seen many a play and musical, and this was far and away the best I've even seen.
I had to DVR AI last night since Biggest Loser was on. I was very happy with the outcome of The Biggest Loser last night. The dude on the white team was frustrating me with his lazy attitude. I understand it is difficult, but quit getting upset about not posting big numbers when you aren't working as hard as everyone! The purple team seems to be working their tails off, they just aren't losing. So they deserved to stick around for another week.
I know I'm forgetting quite a few people here. So :grouphug: to everyone who needs them, and :cheer2: to everyone that deserves them!

WASN'T that a good episode of BL? I loved it! I'm so happy that they seemed to all get over their humps. That would stress me out, being weighed on National Television wearing what they wear. I am sooooo glad white team got booted. Especially after the white team guy saying that his wife is the better speaker and she can do the water works (cry) to gain sympathy. She seemed to work hard and he was an excuse maker. Makes me NOT think of him when I feel like making excuses. I have never in my life worked out so hard I puked or fell to the ground exhausted...they do it daily it seems!
I sort of want the blue (strangers) to hook up! They're kind of cute together.
Hey! I have a super easy and great meal idea for all y'all!
VERY filling and I think it would work for any of the diets we're doing:
Stir Fry Vegetables sold at Walmart (I guess there's similar ones) in the 16 oz. size. The nutrition info says it's 6 servings (like for side dish) but I do the whole bag and it makes 2 substantial meals. 30 calories each serving (x6 for whole bag) if you stir "fry" it with PAM and a little water. I think if you added a little lean beef or chicken and some low sodium soy sauce it would be several meals to have on hand.
I bought several varities. The one I like the most is the broccoli stir fry one. It has cauliflower, mushrooms, sugar snap peas, carrots, corn (I eat around the corn for now) water chestnuts, and red peppers.
I got this idea while in the frozen food area and was discouraged at the prices of the so-called lower carb meals. The whole bag of veggies was only a little over $1.50
Just though I'd share! :flower3:

I make this a lot! I get the Asian stir fry jumbo bag at Sam's Club. Lasts a long time. I usually add chicken to it and I use a little olive oil and lite soy. Sometimes I change it up with a little balsamic vinegar.
I don't really watch this show. It makes me feel like I am not doing enough and it discourages me? Does that make sense?
Mony - Two things. First off, you'll be surprised how quickly you'll notice a change. I promise it won't take 30 pounds. But it'll just hit you one day. When I lost the weight before I got rid of my largest sized clothes. I just left what I was just getting out of. Then I got pregnant, gained all my weight back pretty much and now it's going to take 30 pounds to get in the normal clothes. I am sitting here wearing maternity jeans cause that's all I got that fits. I REFUSE TO BUY CLOTHES I WILL ONLY WEAR TEMPORARY.
I hope the 2 nights/3 days are worth it. I do love the contemporary. It holds lots of memories for me.
Mom brought over a meatloaf. I was like, yes I can have that. She cuts a few slices and I'm like what's all these white things? She said she had left over hashbrowns and she put them in the mix.
I stood there staring. Ack?, potatoes I was thinking, then I knew that would put me in a binge. So I put it back and made a salad!
What will power I have!!!!!!! Cause I can eat hashbrowns morning noon and night.

Hey Peeps!
Yesterday was my 4 month mark until I go to Disney! So I started to kick it up a notch with dieting and working out! My goal is to lose at least a pound a week and hopefully be anywhere in the 120s by time I get there.
The biggest loser was great last night! Im glad they got rid of the white team Amanda's husband was super annoying (or at least he was edited to be on the show that way)
I'm going to be at my fiance's apt for the rest of the week and he doesnt have a scale there so I may have to post my weight next week. then again maybe I will use the scale at the gym but i usually only like to weigh myself on the scale i have at home.

Thanks to everyone for all the congratulations and well wishes! :grouphug: You ALL helped me and my daughter get across that finish line. We have really cool medals to show for it, and we had a marvelous time. We even got to see the back of EE. It is flat!
Well, it is snowing down here in N. AL. My daughter is out playing with the neighbors. It is sticking to the grass, but no roads, and it should turn into rain later. For now, it sure is pretty. :cool2:
Can't wait to report my number on Friday. It's gonna be pretty! :cool2:

SNOWING?? Hope its at least above freezing!! We're headed for a deep deep below zero freeze!! BRRRRRR
Wendy - what do you do when you HATE veggies??? I mean I hate veggies!! gag me with a spoon!! :scared1:
So fdil emails me - and asks if I"ll run the Shamrock Shuffle with her - its her favorite race... well, ok I guess (I think I'm on some kinda halucinagen!) THEN, she calls to get the scoop on my half marathon - and she talked me into doing the CHICAGO HALF in AUGUST!! how does this happen???!! The thing about the Chicago is that a lot of WISH'ers come here for it!! And dh says we can stay in a hotel... :rolleyes1 Lud, I only have to run another 13 miles to do it tho.... :faint:
and I'm still weepy, and I"m still swollen, I'll probably lose my big toenail - I guess that's common for runners... :sad2: I'm just still not over the fact that I didnt get swept, but I dont merit a finish time!! (they unplugged the chip time recorder thingy)
So I still have to get out there and at least get 15min miles, and if I can lose 20# I can get a 14 min mile - just imagine running without those 10# weights - like BETTE SUE on BL!!
At least I'm not heavy enought to qualify for BL :sad2: I checked...

Hi Peeps!
I've only read the past two pages as I'm trying to catch up on AI on the DVR tonight, and I worked on my closet tonight too. I have added a 2nd shoe rack and some cubes for my bags, and I went through all the clothes tossed on the upper shelf and stacked them neatly. I even found a couple of older pairs of jeans and a pair of jean shorts that fit from years ago. I also rode my bike for 51 minutes tonight! :thumbsup2
Anyway, I wanted to say YAY for the runners! :cheer2: You guys rock!!!
And I am also back on track today after eating like crazy on our trip to Chicago. I NEED to start writing down what I eat again. I really think it would help.
It seemed like there was more I wanted to comment on, but I didn't quote, so now I'm not sure.
I will try to stay caught up. And perhaps I'll post a mini trip report of our Chicago weekend.

Woot woot! And don't forget the thrift stores. You can help a charity and get some decent fitting clothes for the short term. then donate them back when you're done. It's like renting them.
UM- I do a similar easy dinner w/ chicken. For folks who can eat carbs, I get the high fiber low-fat tortillas and make fajitas. I've also made it into a fajita salad. Yummy!
For those who watched AI, was Drew just the cutest? I teared up because he sounded just like my grandpa, who has been gone many, many years. Well, he sounded like him until he said "Dude" and "Freakin'".

Silly cravings.
Matt had his first basketball games last night. I was jumping out of my skin watching. He was so nervous. He did his best and got to drive to the net once and he stopped WAY to soon and PASSED the ball. He keeps saying, " I should have went for the layup mom!" Well there are many more games to go.
Oh they won too! Bonus!
Zack is still sick. He has an apt today. He missed the whole week of school. They have Friday and Monday off.
Baby slept 2 nights soundly in a row. Come to think of it, so did Malorie. I am almost feeling somewhat rested.
DH is home. I am relieved.
One more day. I haven't stepped on the scale in a few days, so I have no clue whats going on. Make it a skinny day EVERYONE.

Yay! Thursday...the day of reckoning. One more day! Weds. I was "down" and today a samer. Today I'll need to eat mostly vegetables and non-sodium drinks like green tea or water. I FEEL lighter and my jeans are my gage. We'll see!!!!
I'm still coughing really bad so I can't go on the tread mill which blows. I woke up after a particularly cough-filled night feeling like I've done 1000 sit ups or was punched in my stomach and ribs. Coughing is Aerobic!

Snow cream? You'll have to explain this one to me; I just assumed living in Wisconsin I'd know everything there is to know about snow!
Speaking of the white stuff, they're talking 2-4 inches today, with close to sub-zero temps. Just another day in winter paradise.

Yea until Sandy clarified it, I had no clue either about snow cream? I didn't even want to guess!
Todays lunch was scrumdilliumtious!
Broiled fish (blue hake)
Mediterranean veggies, (squash, zucchini, onions, peppers, baby thin carrots, with soy and black beans.
BUT when I was making the fish???? I used my stone and when I flipped the filets over the thing cracked on me? What is going on with my bakeware?
Are stones supposed to do that? I didn't use it much until lately.
I've heard how versitle stones are and mine breaks.

I hate cold weather. Sorry, it is warm and sunny here. Where is Spongemommie?
I don't know:confused3 I've been calling her all day!
I've been dying to go over there (to her house). I'll have to bring her a diet Pepsi and go check out her super fancy new lap top!!!!!!!! Plus to check if she isn't dead at the bottom of her stairs with a basket full of laundry strewn all over her with crying babies trying to wake her up :3dglasses
Ya, send me some of your sunshine!!!!!!!!

Snow cream? You'll have to explain this one to me; I just assumed living in Wisconsin I'd know everything there is to know about snow!
Snow Cream? huh. Is that like slush?
Yea until Sandy clarified it, I had no clue either about snow cream? I didn't even want to guess!
:scared1: you've never had the pleasure of making snow cream????? oh, you don't know what you're missing! see below for the recipe.
People, people, I cant believe you DONT KNOW OF SNOW CREAM??
:rotfl: I'm sure that's where the addage dont eat the yellow snow came from!! :rotfl: You have to gather the fresh snow fall - the light fluffy stuff, add some heavy whipping cream vanilla, and you have ice cream!!! YUMMM!!
heavy whipping cream? that sounds good. but my grandmother taught me to make it with just milk, sugar and vanilla flavoring. you just add all those ingredients to CLEAN snow (not yellow!) and mix together until it's the consistency of an icee. i'm not sure how much of each we use - just kind of eyeball it.
i used to love it so much as a kid that she'd make LOTS of it when we'd get a good snow and she'd put it in the freezer for me so i could eat it in the summer. :cloud9:

I am uploading pics now for the mini trip report Peeps! It took me longer than expected to find the memory card reader. I had to wait for DH to get home to tell me where he packed it. I don't know if I'll be able to get it done tonight, but I'll try.
Oh! And I did 61 minutes on the bike tonight in addition to my 30 minute walk at lunch! And I was under 1700 calories for the day. Unfortunately, tomorrow they are getting us Papa Del's pizza for lunch at work. It's soooooo good! (Chicago style deep dish) I will do my best to only have one piece. One piece really is plenty. More than two pieces is a BAD idea! Anyway, I have no idea how many calories is in one piece, but I'll be careful the rest of the day to try to make up for the extra.

try to get a piece with more veggies and less meat on it. the calorie count for veggie-only pizza is WAY less than pizza with meat on it.
well, i'm going to tennessee this weekend (leaving saturday morning) to visit the family. i just looked at the weather and the high there on sunday is 18 degrees. :scared1: i'm going to become a popcicle during my trip. :sad2: did i mention how much i HATE cold weather?????
and i sooooooo kicked butt on guitar hero tonight! ray and i played together - i was on guitar and he was on bass. we are such rockstars!!!

Morning Peeps.
I want to jump on this and start us off with some fireworks.
I'm down from last week -5.4!
Ok, I'm happy again.:cool1: :cool1:
Can you all handle my emotions over here?
I thought for sure the scale would mess with me again?
My son just said, mom you'd probably do good if you were on the biggest loser. I wonder? I would have to agree. I am not a quitter!
I just wouldn't have the nerve to wear what they do, in front of all my "real" friends. Ah can I stand behind a curtain?
I wanted so badly to eat yesterday at school. Issues over here. But I didn't. I stayed peepish.
I just want to say I love my Children's Literature class. I have 100 children's books to read along with our syllabus work, (taking away from my New Moon time) but it filled with other hopeful teachers and is making me feel closer to my end goal. Makes what I'm doing more real.
Hope you all have great numbers!

I was - 1.8 lbs.!!!!:cool1: :yay: :woohoo: That was after spending 5 days in Disney. Of course doing a 5K and walking almost 60 miles while I was there helped. ;) Also, dd and I split just about everything we ordered.
Dawn - Be careful going to TN. My son is going on a youth trip today, and is staying through Sunday. They are forecasting snow (possible 6-8 inches) for us, so be careful! Of course, since they are FORECASTING snow that is about a 95% chance that is won't. :rotfl2: They said earlier in the week that it definitely WOULDN'T snow, and what happened? IT SNOWED!! Go figure!
I am going to try and catch up on all my threads over the weekend. Hope everyone is doing well. I think we're gonna have pretty numbers today. :cool2: Better get that calculator out WENDY! :thumbsup2

Wow, you guys are rocking this morning!
MonyMony - Do you realize you reached your Valentines Day goal already? Awesome!!!
Aldisneygrl - Did you have a V-Day goal in mind? You are on my list as "TBD", waiting until after your Disney World trip. 1.8 pounds is a great start!
I was a bit worried about this week (Italian food last weekend, a few too many munchies during the Packers game), but I must have exercised enough to offset it since I lost 1.0 pound this week. Not a great week, but better than a gain. This puts me back at my lowest adult weight of 174.6, which I first reached about a month ago (12/7/07). My grand total weight loss since re-rededicating myself last January is 41.4 pounds; and my uber-grand total weight loss since initially rededicating myself around April of 2005 is 65.4 pounds. I am now 4.6 pounds from my Valentines Day goal of 170, and 19.6 pounds from my ultimate goal of 155.
Let's see some more happy numbers everyone!

Good Morning Peeps !
I am a SAMER. No pretty numbers for me.
I had an early start this morning as I took my dad for cataract surgery. I can't believe how quick it was. We had to be there at 7:00 am and we are back in my car at 9:30 am ! As we have universal healthcare (free for everyone), very often you can have really long waits at the hospital. But this morning was just amazing. Everyone was super nice and it was so easy.
I really need to be more careful with my eating if I want to make my valentines goal. I have promised myself.."no more chocolate" ...it is my weakness. One piece and I just can't stop. Yesterday I baked double chocolate cookies for our school open house next week. I put them in the freezer and I triple wrapped them in clingwrap so that I wouldn't be temped to sneak a couple out.
Hope you all have a wonderful day ! :lovestruc

My excuses:
1. I have bronchitis or Pnemonia and cough HARD at the least bit of excercise. So I didn't do the Tread Mill or anything this whole week. A Coughing fit is pretty aerobic. I wake up feeling my stomach muscles did 1,000 sit ups and crunches. The second I don't cough up a lung, I promise you I'll double up on the TM. PeeP Pinkie Swear!!!!!!!
2. Need to do more veggie meals. Less cheese for snacks. I need to add fruits VERY gradually because I am super sensitive to sugars.
3. NO AUNT FLO thanks to the uterusectomy of '04 :cool1:

I'm down 1.2 lbs this week! I happy with that number, all things considered. I figured 1.2 lbs a week gets me about 5 lbs a month. I haven't been on the TM this week at all so I know I would see better numbers if I was more active.
I've got to run, work is waiting...........

I don't really watch this show. It makes me feel like I am not doing enough and it discourages me? Does that make sense?
Can I get a woot woot?
I DVR BL so I can watch it when I am feeling positive about where I am. If I am at all down o n myself watching it makes me worse.
AND...WOOT WOOT...you are rocking!
cool!!!!! we will all have to post our plans once we get them worked out. they'll release the park hours at the beginning of june, i think. does anyone know when they release the MVMCP dates? i have disney OCD so i'll be planning our trip from the date they release the park hours!
When i made my reservationI was told MVMCP dates won't be released until October. Just in case, I am going to start calling in September though.
You are too hard on yourself!! I totally would have been swept! I have no doubt you will do just fine in the runs with your FdIL
For those who watched AI, was Drew just the cutest? I teared up because he sounded just like my grandpa, who has been gone many, many years. Well, he sounded like him until he said "Dude" and "Freakin'".
:rotfl2: I love it..."dude and "freakin"...:lmao: I would pay a lot of money to hear my grandfather say that.
Zack is still sick. He has an apt today. He missed the whole week of school. They have Friday and Monday off.
Baby slept 2 nights soundly in a row. Come to think of it, so did Malorie. I am almost feeling somewhat rested.
Your kids are having a rough winter. Curse the flu season!!
:thumbsup2 for sleeping babes. That is a rare occurance.
Hi everyone!:goodvibes I have felt rotten since Monday when I had this tooth cut out.I didn't eat for more than 24 hrs though ,so we will see what the scale says tomorrow.:confused3
I hope you are feeling better soon. That has to be miserable...:scared:
Snow cream? You'll have to explain this one to me; I just assumed living in Wisconsin I'd know everything there is to know about snow!
Speaking of the white stuff, they're talking 2-4 inches today, with close to sub-zero temps. Just another day in winter paradise.
I am with you on snow cream...I had no idea. BRRRR..sub zero. No thanks! We got about 4 inches of snow here in Maryland yeasterday but is already gone. We are supposed to get slammed on Saturday though.
