There's another thing too, you can upload your own photos and add the borders! Darn it all, I want both! (I sometimes take better shots than the PhotoPass peeps - I love my camera).

tell me about it, the flash is harsh and way over exposed! You know what really ticks me off though, when they start trying to "fix" DH's camera settings. ERGH! But I would love to have my pics on the disk too.

I will log into the photopass site to see what the deal is. I wonder if you can buy it outright or if you have to purchase it when you buy the photopass CD. Which btw, the cost went up on.

Although the photopass did go up in price, preorder is still $99.95. Disney visa did have a 15% off code but I didnt check if they were still doing it. I wonder if it would be good on the 39.95 CD. I need to check on that!

Shoot the Chase site is down for maintenace and the old visa code doesn't work. I will check back in to this though!

You don't have to have had a recent trip to the Parks to buy the CD with The Disney Stock photos. Anyone can go on the Disneyphotopass.com website and buy it. It's not attached to the CD of the photos taken of you by the photopass photographers. It's a really good price considering one 5 x 7" photo if they process is $12.00!

I ordered one after I placed my order for my own photopass CD. So, there were two separate orders. It hasn't arrived yet. I did call Photopass before I ordered it to confirm it was the stock photos that are online, plus others.

Yes, the preorder price for the photopass CD also remained the same, but the regular price post trip is up to 149.95, however, some people have been able to get the pre-trip price before inputing their ID number.

Can someone explain how the photopass system works exactly? This is a new feature since our last visit. I understand that you get a card that assigns you an account number and whenever you see a Disney photographer you give them that card and all of your photos are compiled online for you to view/purchase. But what I am unclear on is the cost to purchase the cd of all of the photos that they take. I saw $99 mentioned but that seems really high (even by Disney standards) so can someone clarify for me? Thanks in advance for any and all help!:goodvibes

Yes, the PRE-purchase price is $99 if purchased prior to your trip. The full price is $149.95 if purchased after your trip. It's high, but nothing considered to buying your photos separately at the prices Photopass charges to process the photos. You can edit your photos and add as many borders and enhancements as you want, and they are all included on the CD. If you had even 50 photos, you could make a few hundred out of those with the editing and enhancements. And, yes, it's high, but not as high as the post-trip price which JUST went up on June 16!

When you go, if you decide to get the CD, pre-research all the places the photopass photographers hang out and also all the areas Magic shots are taken. Magic shots have an added surprise such as Tinkerbell in your hand, Stitch coming out of the ground or sitting beside you eating a cone, Soarin' characters coming down above you at Epcot, Simba in your arms at AK, Ghosts at HM around Halloween, and Tink wings at Flower an Garden show Fairy garden, etc. They will not normally automatically offer these. You have to ask. But, stop and get all the shots you can and also re-shoot the same areas with other photographers since the photographers vary in their expertise. Also, ask for views that you might want..If they're not too busy, they may honor your request. Some are more willing than others!

I shared a CD with 3 other sets of friends on my May 2009 trip so that reduced my price. That can't be done on DIS though.

It's your buck, so make the most of it!

Stitch coming out of the ground is that at DHS?
They had us look down and point at the ground....and when we got the photopass CD.. it looks like we are staring at dirt in the wood! I need to do a cute layout on that.... the photographer was actually from a hometown about an hour south of our hometown...

Note to self: pre-order cd before our next trip!!!! :)

Also, if you preorder the CD and photobook, you can decide not to buy one or both and they will refund you. I did that and just didn't have time to make the photobook (that's what I get for going right before Christmas!), and they refunded either $40 or $50. Either way, I got over 2000 photos once I added all the borders and stuff to the CD.

I think I will order the stock CD, I have a Chase Visa, so I'll wait to hear about that ;)

Stitch was in the ground at DHS, we also got M with Lilo, Minnie, Mickey and Stitch there too. Sitting on the water fountain with her.

Nancy, yes you should have had Stitch coming out of the ground. That is one of the magic shots at the Studios. One, think I learned, though from the past trip is to go to one of the photoshops in one of the parks daily or at least a couple of times to have them check my photos. I also found some missing the magic characters, and they could then add those. Also, when I got home, they added some missing shots as well. There are varying levels of expertise, let's say, among the photographers and they don't all know how to input all the info correctly, or sometimes get careless so you have to check those shots frequently.

I had one of the Soarin' characters overhead taken at Epcot, but they didn't appear on my photos. It was a photo of me ducking and point up above looking horrified!! There were dark clouds, bt heck I'm used to that coming from this area!! I did check the shots at the Park and they added the magic images. I also had it re-taken so I was sure it was there since it's a fun one!

You can also get a magic shot with Stitch eating an ice cream cone next to you on a bench at Epcot or MK. I got one at MK (when it wasn't busy) wit him sitting on a table in front of Casey's.

The Disney credit card special code of 15% expired on June 15. I did use it for a pre-purchase of a Photopass CD for the Fall, but it's now expired. It couldn't be used for the stock photo CD because that CD is a new offering that just came out on June 16. The photopass person confirmed this CD just came out on the 16th, per my phone call earlier this week, so don't feel bad.

That offer expired on June 15.

Also, the CD of the stock photos is a new offering as of June 16.

Another new offering is to upload your own photos to a separate CD ordered through Photopass for $19.95.

I have uploaded my personal photos and ordered through Photopass when they had a really good offer which made the photos less than what I could get at even most discount local places, and the quality of their processing was excellent. So, what for those special discounts which are usually around major holidays, etc.

There is a Photopass for DL. I've not been there for years so I don't know what the web address is for the pre-purchase price. I have heard there is one.

The pre-purchase offer for WDW actually comes with a welcome e-mail from WDW with a special web address for the pre-purchase web page. You can't just go to the Photopass site to bring up that page even for the WDW offer. You can get the address all over Dis or google it, though, and it works.

You might want to check out the DL Board on Dis and ask for the info and web address. I've heard the price is lower than WDW's since there are fewer parks and stays are usually shorter, etc.

On the Stock photo page on Disney Photopass website, there are 22 photos of DL and 5 of CA Adventure. There may also be a few in the resorts category, not sure. There also may be more on the CD itself than are listed on the Photopass site, but it looks like most are WDW.

I assume it would be done much like a photo pass share. One person orders, other people pay that person. That person sends data to other members of the share.

p.s. welcome to the board.

Sorry, but this is not allowed on the DIS. Fortunately, it's only 39.95, so that's not too expensive (at least in Disney terms;)).

I am copying this from the Budget Board:

!!! PLEASE READ!!! Important News Regarding Swaps & Shares!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It has always been a rule on the DIS that anything involving money changing hands between members was not permitted on the boards. With that in mind, a decision has been made to end all swaps and shares that include money passing between DISers.

What does this mean?
Beginning today, all Photopass shares requiring a payment are over on the DIS. No new paid Photopass shares can be started.
Threads for existing Photopass shares will be locked on Friday of this week. Any new threads will be deleted beginning today unless they are offering the Photopass Share at no charge to participants.
Fridge and stroller swaps that are free can continue. However, if a refrigerator/stroller is lost or damaged, the swap leader cannot collect money from members to replace the lost/damaged item. Swaps may continue if an item is donated for the use of subsequent share members.
No new fridge or stroller swaps will be permitted to start unless the fridge/stroller is a donated item and the swap is free to all participants.
Any fridge or stroller swap that is not free to new members will be closed on Friday of this week. This will allow those leaders of swaps that are currently collecting money to decide whether they are willing/able to offer their swap for free. On Friday, any swap threads that are not free will be locked and their links will be removed from the sticky threads.

I had prepurchased the CD before my trip and I just completed the order. Funny, when I prepurchased the price was still the lower price of $124 (or whatever it was) but when I completed the order, it showed me a savings of $149.99.

We got a Magic Shot over by RnR entrance area with us holding mickey balloons..first looking at the camera and then looking up at the balloons. I had not seen this magic shot before. The photographer also went ahead and took several other shots like Stitch eating ice cream and Minnie sitting next to us. A friend of mine got the Star Wars Magic shot with Darth Varder and a light saber, the photographer had a toy saber and had my friend hold it like she was doing battle. I thought it was pretty neat.

The Photogallery CD became available on June 16th (according to my friend who is a manager of the photo imaging dept at MK). She also mentioned what somebody else had mentioned, any photographer can take magic shots, you just have to ask and they can't have too long of a line behind them.

I think the photopass has grown in popularity because I can remember a time when the photographers were begging people for a picture. Now it seems like there is always a line for them.

After a bunch of added borders and zooms, B/W with borders, we ended up with 421 pictures on this CD. :thumbsup2

Can you tell me how to go about preordering the photopass cd? I usually get on each trip, nut will preorder instead of paying the 149. In the past I have searched for a telephone number to contact photopass and cannot find one? Where did you find that? The borders can still be added with a preorder? How exactly does the preorder work, do they send you a certificate or something?

Info is here Click me. (http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx) They send you an email with a code that you use when you are ready to order after your trip. I pre-ordered both the CD and photobook last year, but didn't have enough time to get the book done and I asked them to credit my account, they did it lickety split! Have fun!

Just wanted to add to the conversation here...I ordered the photopass CD with the stock photos from WDW on it. Some of them are worth it (looking for a great fireworks shot?); some of them are not (pretty sure I took a picture of that sign when I was there and it came out just as good).

I HIGHLY recommend it for people who attend holiday events such as MNSHHP and Christmas season at WDW.

There are over 300 photos on the CD, but some of them you will probably never use (some of the resort shots for example).

I think that everyone will just have to weigh for themselves if $40 is worth it. I took the plunge because my friend are scrapbooking our albums and together and we will both use it.

PS: As far as I can tell there are NO DL photos on this CD. :(

Well, that may have sold me on the CD. I still have last year's MNSSHP to scrap, and I'm going to the Christmas party for the first time this year.

There are over 300 photos on the CD, but some of them you will probably never use (some of the resort shots for example).

Are there pics of every resort on property? I would love that since sometimes I don't have a pic of the resort I want to scrap, and in December, I know we'll be doing a lot of resort hopping to see the decorations.

A few things -- you can get a lot of great "stock" type photos free from folks here on the DIS (including me). Check the photography board and look for Mark Barbieri's posts. I have some great (if I do say so myself) sign and fireworks shots HERE (http://www.psukaras.smugmug.com/Disney/617856) if you want to snag some of those.

That said, I'm glad Disney is doing this. I may buy one of the CD's too! Because I'm sure there are some shots that I don't have yet!

As for per-ordering, you actually don't even have to do that before you go. You can still "pre-order" when you get home. You just follow the process and get your code just like you would before your trip. That way, you don't have to give Disney any money before you know if you like your pictures or not.

How do you upload your pics and add borders? When did they add that feature? That is SUPER cool. I'd like to hear more about that if anyone has done it already. Thanks for the scoop!

There were dark clouds, bt heck I'm used to that coming from this area!! I did check the shots at the Park and they added the magic images. I also had it re-taken so I was sure it was there since it's a fun one!

If a magic shot doesn't appear, all you have to do is contact them, and they will fix it before you order your CD. I had a few Tinks missing last time, and they were able to fix it.

Here is a list of what can be found on the CD

Thanks so much for the list!!

As for per-ordering, you actually don't even have to do that before you go. You can still "pre-order" when you get home. You just follow the process and get your code just like you would before your trip. That way, you don't have to give Disney any money before you know if you like your pictures or not.

Even if you preorder, if you don't want to get the CD, you just have to let them know within 30 days of getting home (I think?) and they will refund your money.

How do you upload your pics and add borders? When did they add that feature? That is SUPER cool. I'd like to hear more about that if anyone has done it already. Thanks for the scoop!

They've been doing this for a while, but I'm pretty sure that being able to order them on a separate CD is new (you had to order pics separately before.)
