A 10 year old girl died of a rare form of cancer on 6/19. Her final wish was to see "up". Here is a link to an article about it.

Very, very nice gesture on the part of all involved with making the wish a reality.

DH told me about this story. I can't read it. Our son, age 14 is a leukemia survivor (he had it when he was 3). I feel blessed and very lucky that he is alive and doing well. (We almost lost him.) You will never know what it feels like to have a child with cancer unless you go through it. I dealt with it by denial (I couldn't research it, I just trusted the doctors). I still am like that. I wish this family well, I can't imagine having a different outcome, my heart goes out to them. :flower3:

I am having troubles even trying to post through the welled-up tears.
I am so glad that she had her wished full filled.

Thank you for sharing this story with us I hadn't heard about it.
What a heart warming but sad story. Her mother describing the scenes to her was heartbreaking.
My DD whose is 10 walked in to see her picture when I reading the article and asked what is was about, I couldn't even get the words out.
Way to go Pixar for making her final wish come true!

It just goes to show that we need to enjoy everyday we have, you never know when it could be our last!

What a touching and beautiful story. Kudos to Pixar for making that little girl's dream come true! Yet another reason why I will gladly pay for a ticket to see their movies at the theatre; this speaks volumes about the kind of people that work over there:flower3:

Another reason to LOOOVE Disney/Pixar!!! They truly go above and beyond the call of duty to make their "family" happy!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with that family....and to such a BEAUTIFUL little girl!!! It's ashame that she's gone sooo soon...but it looks like she fulfilled many, many lives!!! I bet she's up there right now watch every Disney/Pixar movie she wants...on her Minnie shaped cloud!!!
