I ws just on phone with costco ready to book and had cc in hand, she was taking all the informationa nd noticed my childrens names where different than mine, she said the biological father had to notorize a paper, i have not been in contact with him in over 10 years, my DD birthcertificate says father unknown becasue of him, what am i to do....any onehave this problem....please help!

SAD DIZZI!

No, no, no! Just go to the website to order a passport and you can find a form to fill out and get notarized if the father is not available. It has a space on it to tell why the father isn't available. Go read the site, it's a government site, google passport and it will come up. I just had my ex get it notarized b/c I don't want to depend on him getting off of work to go with us to get the passports. I've been on 2 cruises with Ethan and only showed his BC with no questions asked. Both cruises were post 9-11. Don't freak out just yet. If you need anymore info, let me know!

Well, another morning another workout! I like anything mint/chocolate, caramel/chocolate, plain chocolate or skittles! I don't really care for nuts in anything (minds out of gutter Chris and Ronnie). When it's closer to the DAY, we can get a list together and go from there. I really don't mind packing my car with food! LOL!

Well, off to shower. Hope y'all have a great day!pirate:

Ain't it lovely when you wake up and hear rain? Makes me want to stay in bed, but I'm now feeling guilty when I don't get up and work out. Yesssssssssss, now it's become a habit again. Not particularly one I enjoy, but a habit.

Where is everyone? I seem to be missing a few peeps in my head!

CAN WE GO YET?pirate:

Working this Saturday again. I MISS Y'ALL so much... but hey.... this can't last forever, right?

Hugs to everyone and I hope all the issues and potential cancellations end up working out for the best! :grouphug:

vital, can you tell me where i go to get this form to have notorized, i cannot seem to find it.
It isnt for the passport though the lady at COSTCO said i would need a paper from the father just stating that he can be taken on the cruise.
But then the lady at DCL said if we do as much as we can, Like have the BC and the marriage and the divorce papers and the paper that states i changed my name back to my maiden name, and anything else that states he is soley in my care, that i should be fine.
But it is those last few words that scare me...."SHOULD BE" fine.

If i go ahead and book when is the latest i can cancel without loosing too much money?

That is just insane to me. I booked just my child and I and no one has mentioned any of that. I'll be really pissed off if I get to port and need some paperwork that nobody told me about. They'll have to call the police! Like I said, I've been on 2 cruises with him WITHOUT his father and never thought twice about it and never was asked anything.

Here is the site where I downloaded the form. It's the government site so it may also help answer some of your questions.

vital

Here is the exact form.
http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/80106.pdf If you look on section 5, there is a place for you to explain the reason why the other parent is unable to sign. It looks like all you have to do is write unknown, or something to that effect in front of the notary and things should be OK for the passport. Now, if the government will give you a freaking passport to the world, then Disney should let you get on their boat!

Thank you so much,
oh i will be pissed too, but i guess i will be more hurt than anything to have brought my kids to see the ship leave without them.
Did you say your son does have the same last name as you,
I think this is what gave the Costco lady like an alert to say soemthing since 3 of the 4 of us traveling to egthr have different last names.
I am just going to make sure i have all my ducks in a row and i am goign to see a lawyer too.

He has his dad's last name and I changed mine back to my maiden name. It was this way for both cruises. I guess I can bring copies of my divorce decree just in case. I'm thinking since we will have our passports, nothing should be questioned since both parents are supposed to agree on letting the child even get one.

PLease know that i am asking a real question and not trying to stir up anything.......We (DD AND I) would really like to dress up almost semi formal every night for dinner, and DS AND DH will do it if i say so, but will we be totally out of place on the nights that are not designated for this kind of dress.
Obvioulsy we will not do this for Pirate night!

THANKS:goodvibes

I think you will be fine, I wore black dress pants and different fancy blouses, with black mules with sparkle, every night, and I am not a dressy person. I was fine. Others wore those disney tropical sets several nights, khakis on others, and then went semi/formal on the recommended nights.

First, a disclaimer. No, I am not being paid to say these things. Some of you may already know this, but for those who don't here is more info to give you a chocolate craving.

The main road through the center of Hershey is Chocolate Avenue. There is also a Cocoa Avenue. There is usually a nice, faint smell of chocolate (depends on the wind, I think). The hotel that Milton Hershey built, The Hotel Hershey, has a well-known spa where you can get a cocoa scrub, soak in a chocolate bath and do other chocolaty things (no, we have never been there---much too expensive). But we have dined at the Circular dining room (Mr Hershey didn't want anyone to have a bad seat so he made it a circle with many windows) The appetizer I had was scallops dusted with cocoa powder.

It is not our beloved Disney, but if anyone is in the area, you may want to visit this town that chocolate built.
:)

Sean, we had several cruisers visit the heresy spa before our cruise in December, they really liked it. Said it was so worth it, lol.

PADisneyCouple, now I think you are just taunting us to make those of us who live in less fortunate places jealous. You are killing me with all the Hershey chocolate stuff. I am so hungry on this diet, and what you are describing sounds to good to be true. Really though, I would love to visit there. It sounds fantastic. I don't think we have anything that comes remotely close to that level of perfection here in Arkansas. It's pretty here and everything but it definitely doesn't smell like chocolate.

As far as dressing up goes, we will probably do what we did last time. I wore dress slacks and a nice blouse every night. Boys wore khakis and nice shirts (polo type shirts on less formal nights and nice button downs on more formal nights). I think you will be fine in whatever you choose to wear. People were wearing a little bit of everything when we were on the cruise.

Ok, I'm back... and now (sort of) caught up. We moved into a new home at the end of January... and then the hard drive promptly crashed. No big thing though since our street is so new that we're not in anyone's database and therefore can't get high speed internet from anyone (and here we were hoping for FIOS) until they figure out our street exists. So we decided to scrap it all and fly to Sweden for two weeks (ok, that was pre-planned). But, not we're back and I'm flying along on *gasp* dial-up.

PADisneyCouple: DH and I are Elizabethtown College alum. We met there and our cheap off campus get away was always to head to Hershey. I can't tell you how many times I've been on the Chocolate World ride. One day I was disappointed because they were handing out Coco Puffs at the end instead of Hershey bars. Another time, there were warning signs up stating they weren't handing out chocolate that day (Twizzlers instead, surprisingly there were no riots). We've even taken the trolley ride twice (that you have to pay for). We've even taken the trolley ride twice (one was a holiday version). It's really nice and actually quite interesting and something else I would suggest.

But enough about Hershey...
We're so excited about this cruise. We tell everyone that we're going to be on Castaway Cay on our 5th anniversary and of course no one else really gets the excitement of something like that except for other DISers.

Though we don't have little ones I'm definitely bringing candy to give out. How fun! Not sure about dressing up. I have to wear a canary yellow (whoopie.) bridesmaid dress in May and someone called is a Belle dress (sorry, but no) which got me thinking but so far no ideas. Pirate night also a toss up though we have pirate ears if we cop out on that one.

So, is there stuff planned so far? I can't believe how many DISers are on this cruise!

Happy St Pats, all. The local parade has been cancelled, due to the 10-12 inches of snow we got yesterday. :bride: and I attacked the driveway this morning. It went quite well. I blew it off around 1300, and again at 1900, yesterday. Had an inch or so on it this morning. Worst was the plowed-in part near the street. A bolt fell off the lip on the underside of the blower, and it keeps peeling back. This leads me to going nowhere. Have to get it fixed. Shopping at Lowes time.
I think you'll be fine with your planned attire. Chris will probably do some sundresses (or whatever their correct term is) for dinner. I'll be in khakis and golf/hawaiian shirts. Probably dressing up for both pirates and halloween dinners. Current projections have them on different nights. Perhaps DCL will combine them?
For fun this afternoon, we've selected the Family Room to attack. This means going through all piles of stuff and cleaning/organizing. As a reward, we plan to watch some of the POC-DMC bonus features tonight.

Have a nice day.

I think the ticker factory tickers are always current even if you go back and look at an older post since your signature changes everywhere if you make a change, not just on posts going forward.

I'm off to attempt a recipe I found for chewy granola bars since it seems Quaker stopped making ones with fruit years ago (I can only find candy versions now) and any other brands coat them with a "yogurt" substance.

If anyone has any yummy easy recipes that they love please PM me. I'm still learning this whole cooking thing and am always looking for ideas.

Planning some summer activities together today. :bride: wants to go on a kayaking trip and do some bird watching. There are eagles nesting along the Susquehanna in the area.

Treated ourselves to some cruise planning after such productive cleaning time yesterday. Sounds like we might not do any excursions on St Martin. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the ship, and then some shopping on Front Street. It appears that there's a beach near by, too? Then we'll head back to enjoy the empty ship. Is there that much to do along Front and Back Streets in Phillipsburg?

I was just glancing over our cruise reservation and have a question for those of you coming in the night before:

Where are you staying and how are you getting to the ship?

I ask because on other boards I’ve noticed that sometimes it makes sense for a few DISers to get together and book a larger vehicle to get from A to B.

My husband and I are scheduled to land a few minutes before midnight on Friday, October 26th and so we’ll probably stay somewhere close to the airport. For our last cruise we arrived late Friday night and stayed at the Crowne Plaza which has a free airport shuttle that we took back to the airport the morning of the cruise and hopped on the DCL bus. If it were to prove more cost effective to travel with a group we would be happy to do so provided we would still arrive at the terminal before noon. If there are others who are interested I could look into costs, etc.

I knowthis will not help you, but we, DM & I, are now thinking that we will book a 14 passenager van and group up with other DISer from WDW to PC and maybe back to MCO.

I planned on 8-10 people in the van to allow for extra luggage room. I think it worked out to around $20-$25/person one way, including tip and taxes.

We have a flight to WDW! After much angst with Jetblue and BUF being the only airport without a schedule for October, every other airport opened schedule on Saturday, we booked a flight via Boston... $115.00 one way@. Still a good savings over flying out of Toronto. If we can get the same for our return in November I will be happy.

ETA - But we now have to fly in one day early, aww life is tough sometimes. And it means I might need to stay in a normal room (where is the fainting smilie?) at DL next year, it was to be my first stay in Conc, but I will still be on site at DL, so life is good.

I'm driving for this cruise, but for my July cruise I'm trying to book a flight. You wouldn't believe how much they are trying to charge for a flight! The $198 flights are at the buttcrack of dawn or late in the evening. Good grief! I live in the flight plan of our airport and it's a Delta hub so you'd think I'd get a better price:sad2:

I need to buy a new scale. All this exercising and I don't even know if I've lost a pound. I think I have b/c my pants are a little looser. I'll have to see some numbers though.

Pj...good deal on your flights. We haven't booked ours yet...but it almost always ends up costing us 300$ a piece round trip on Delta from TN which is ridiculous but we just can't seem to think about driving.

Pam...I am so hoping things work out for you. Keeping everything crossed that I can.

We will be flying in on Oct 27th & probably staying at Wilderness Lodge. I can call next Tuesday for our ressies. Right now we have DCL transfers booked, but are thinking about changing that to a town car or something else because we got to port so late last time...we don't want to get there super early but it was after 2 when DCL took us last time.

Still  with the sinus crud. The doctor I work for sent me home today because I was still running a fever this morning....I went in anyway because I wanted to get back to work. Oh well, at least I got an antibiotic in me now & am feeling better this afternoon.

Thought I would pop in to say a quick hello to everyone and that I miss you all. I have an aweful flu bug that has been sticking around for over a week now. Unfortunatley I have still had to work so by the time I get home I am simply exhausted.

Paula , awesome job on the weight loss, you go girl :cool1: I have still been going to the gym almost everyday, it seems as thou it is the only time I feel better, I typically stay for an hour and do my tread and elipitcal then hit the sauna. I think I have leveled out since I have not notice much of a change lately. I am at a happy 120 now so I am going to start on weights, OH I HATE weights!:scared1:

We having been planning the summer camping trips . So far 2 stays at Jellystone , 1 week at Lake George and 1 week in Maine. We LOVE the group with go with , they are a great bunch and drinkers like myself :drinking1 :drinking1 We play a game called Moosy Moosy many nights and I always seem to get screwed so now I am going bring a bottle of schnaps instead of the hard liquior.

Babs , glad you had a good time at the Dis.:yay:

Jordgubben , We are coming in on Wednesday staying at All Star Movies. We thought the girls would really enjoy that resort. They picked it themselves :) My parents are also cruising with us so we opted for the Disney transfers, only problem we had last time with that is we didn't arrive to the ship unitl well after 1:30. :sad2:

Go for WW! My friend has lost 13lbs so far in 2 months on it. She's not even exercising. I have another friend doing the Nutrisystem thing you see so much of on TV and she's lost 33lbs in 7 weeks! as for a hotel, be very very careful, with the cheap hotels around here, be VERY VERY CAREFUL, fort lauderdale BEACH area is beautiful and great but some areas are really horrible and unsafe!!!!!!!!
The airport is about 10 minutes give or take from the port, cant say i have ever driven it straight , but also traffic can play a HUGE part in how long it takes from point A to B.
For instance it takes me about 6 minutes to go to work yet it take me about 20 + minutes to get home!
If you get some addresses you would like me to check on for hotels i would be glad to do that, let me know!

:)

C Oh MY GOSH!!! I think I need a summer road trip and this sounds decadent!!! :thumbsup2

Well, I survived another St Paddy's Day parade! There were an estimated 50,000 people there and I believe they were all yelling at the same time! We had a fantastic time! I'll post the site with our pics on it when they update it. Now it's OFFICIALLY spring around here!pirate: Do we have pics yet???? :confused3

I'll find and post a thread from the Community Board that has some awesome recipes on it..... :surfweb: Let me go look.....

Sorry, I'm still  & feel so yucky that I am dreaming of this trip & the :beach: at Castaway Cay.

Hope you feel better soon Melanie! There were a lot of people that were at the funeral home that were/had been sick with the flu. I'm hoping that we had our sick shields up and we don't get it!!

Well, severe thunderstorm warnings out this morning.... tornado watches in some areas.

Alton is great, have you seen his new look on Iron Chef America, very bad boy, hmmmm.

Sounds like I'm going to have to set my DVR for Iron Chef. I’ve also recently read on ABs website that they are going to be taping another Feasting on Asphalt. :smooth:

I spoke with my DH and looked up both of these hotels, we both agree that they would both be okay. The Hilton being in the better area of the 2. The Comfort Inn is going to be in an area that is close to a large strip mall. which has a DAVE AND BUSTERS so it can be full of all ages of kids at any time of the late evening.

You all are sooooo much more talkative than my cruise board for our cruise in a week!!! LOL

J.T. is a boy and will be 6 when we cruise
Kerry is actually a girl and will be almost 5 when we cruise (yes they are that close in age)

and to remember their names.... they are = John Kerry ;-) that usually helps.

I get my cruise fix next week, we drive to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday the 31st and board the Carribean Princess for a 7 lovely days on April fools day!
I am busy stressing about that cruise, so I will be more active over here once we return. We booked two GUAR cabins on that cruise (due to spring break it was cheaper to get two cabins for 2 each than it was to get one for 4!).... but alas they still have not assigned our rooms, so the planner in me will not know where we are logistically until we get there and it is killing me.

We are on deck 7 when we sail with you all.

I am trying to browse through the history on this thread, but BOY you are a talkative bunch, it could take me a year to "catch up"

Has anyone done any deciding on their excursions?

I am thinking that it is going to be

For St. Maarten...the 2 flags bus tour,
For St. Thomas....St Thomas open air tour and the skyride to Paradise.
for CC................Might be leaning towards the 4-in-1 package?????

Can anyone give me any good or bad points about any of these?

I dont want to do too much but dont want to do tooo little either!:confused3

Thank you so much for the info! I was leaning towards the Hilton since it's only 85 bucks a night! You read it right!

As far as excursions, I'm planning on doing the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel on St Thomas and that's about it. I plan on riding to the beach at the end of the runway so we can check out the big jets landing on our heads:scared1: For CC, I'm planning on putting Ethan in the kids club for the morning and chilling on the adult only beach with the largest konch kooler I can find and just sit.

Since we are going on a cruise in July to St Thomas, I'm not really sweating it much. I may not even do the Doubloon. Depends on what we do in July. We are going to St John and Antigua to snorkel at some fantastic beaches on my quest to see a sea turtle in the wild. If we do see a turtle, my quest will be fulfilled and we may just go to Blackbeard's Castle and check things out. Who knows! I'll let you know for sure in August!

Good grief, I didn't mean to go on and on! I'm just so excited to be going on 2 cruises I don't know how to act! :cool1: pirate:

FOR VITAL, from Amy's Design thread.

Hi!! Everyone, just peeking in. I got lost on another thread. I still don't have any GOOD news but I am just going about things as normal, I have decided that if I have to I will go to the bank and cash in a CD, DH will probably be pissed but I figure one good look at the MAGIC and some pixie dust and He'll be happy I was so persistent.

Remember as we get closer that I am only 30 minutes from the world and if you need anything picked up from DTD or want me to pick up something so you don't have to travel with it I would be more than happy to help out.

I haven't CUOP'd so I hope everyone is feeling better and that all is well:yay:

Kimmi, I ment to say a few posts back that I am so sorry about your Aunt. I hope you and Noah are doing better. It is sooooo hard to lose loved ones.

Tonight was a family night at school. I went to the gym prior thinking the entire time " Maria don't sweat Maria Don't sweat",well I did and I am quite sure I wasn't smelling exactly like a flower but I did spray myself a few times with my sample perfumes. OH BY the Way, sample perfumes are a great way to pack alot of scents without having to bring huge bottles. I purchase all of mine off Ebay and it was one of my best vacation purchases.
The girls had such a good time and played all the games. Our principal Mr Ward called the bingo for the kids and you would have thought he has been doing it all his life. He should call Bingo on cruises :rotfl: The girls even won 4 books :yay: of course which all had to be read tonight.

Can anyone tell me what the heck the new rules are on the airlines and what we can bring? What about shampoos and hairsprays and lotions ? I don't think I quite understand it. Can I pack all that stuff in my suitcase for non-carryon and not worry?

O.K you guys I did it !!! I made my woohoo appointment . Yes I'm sure many of you thought you heard the last of it , and were probally hoping and praying so. I found an amazing DR up here, I had people tell me only wonderful stuff about him. Plus DH said I better do it now before I spend all his bonuses elsewhere, ya know piddle it away, which I am good at. It is May 25th. :)

Off to bed for me. I'm sure I won't fall asleep till 12:00 or so but I try everynight, then I get the muchies around 10 or 11.

Chris and I believe you can bring whatever size you want in your non-carryon. But carried on stuff has to be <3 ounces (each container). And it (the carried on stuff) has to fit into a one quart size plastic bag. If you have any liquid medications, you should pack them in a separate 1 quart plastic bag. Meds don't count towards the limit. Of course, meds should be in a properly labeled container.

Here's a link to the TSA web site: http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm

Hope this helps,

Here is another TSA link. It is the security checkpoint waiting times page. You can plug in your airport, day of flight, and time of flight. It will give you the min/max/average waiting times, based upon recent data. It also gives you the wait times for a couple of hours +/- your desired timeframe.

Any hotel suggestions near the port and reasonable for a family of 4? we were so late in jumping on the cruise next week that we are staying up in Boca Saturday night and even through hotwire we paid $114 but it is spring break and we did get a suite at a place that includes breakfast

Hi Christine, Thank you soooo much. It looks as thou the best bet for us would be to pack all shampoos, lotions, hairsprays and such in our checked bags and other items like Kennas meds in the carryons. Remember when it use to be so easy to pack, not anymore, but I do understand their reasoning.

Oh my goodness can you believe it is going to be 50's this weekend and then mid 60's next week here? FINALLY. However they are calling for a blast of old man winter to hit again sometime around April 3rd, WHAT , how can they predict that so far out?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone :)

Tomorrow we are going to Wacky Wayetts with my friend from Peru. They have hamburgers there that have the fries right in them HEHE they are unbelievable good. The girls LOVE it there because it place resembles a barn inside with painting of farm animals and such. They also have pretend horses that still only cost .10 cents a ride.

I go away for a couple of days and I miss over 4 pages. Wow!

Welcome tsoccer5! My boys will be 10 and 6 when we cruise. Brady is my 6 year old (he turned 6 on Monday) and I am sure he would love to meet your kids. Do your kids by chance play soccer? That is my boys' favorite sport.

My week has been both good and bad. We celebrated Brady's birthday which was good. My DH left on a business trip for the week on Monday (very bad). I pretty much spent my week running to and from soccer practices and games with the kids and helping with homework.

My boys did however leave bright and early yesterday morning for a week in Disney World with my parents. Their flights made it there safely and they are having a great time. I, however, rear ended another car on the way to work yesterday morning. It was not my best day. Luckily, everyone was okay, but now my insurance will probably go up.

I love the POC Jack Sparrow picture posted here. Do you guys think POC 3 will be playing while we are on the ship? I hope so. My oldest would love to watch that on the cruise.

Noah had his pinewood derby race yesterday. :car: He placed third and had a blast!!! I'm uploading pictures now...

David is up north with is DD - he's coming home tonight. I'm making a roast, taters, onions, carrots.... I've heard a way to a man's heart is through his stomach.... or is that still true?

I worked 7 hours yesterday and have to work today as well. I can't wait to get past this volume surge and for my assistant manager to return! :yay: Less than 30 days and she's back!! 29 to be exact. Actually 28 days, 23 hours and 29 minutes! But who's counting? :dance3:

Well, off to feed Noah and his buddy that spent the night breakfast. Then to Church.... and then... back to work. GRRRRRRR.... I told my staff that NO ONE will be working Easter weekend... no way! We all need a break!

DFF, sorry about your rear ender... glad that YOU are ok though!!

Ronnie - I see you stopped by to say hello... so HELLO!!! :wave2:

Babs - when security wouldn't let you take the water on board... had you opened it? I thought I heard that if it was unopened, it was ok to take on board? Noah HAS to drink something during take off or landing to deal with his ears... Do I need a Dr.'s note?:confused3

Paula - woman you give me encouragement - I haven't been to the gym in weeks working the way I am. I'm paying for the right to say I "belong".

I finally feel alive again! I tell all of my friends that I must have that seasonal mood thing because when the weather stays above 65 for a few weeks and the sun is shining, I feel alive! In the winter when the sun is shining, it might as well be raining. I can't stand cold weather! It's in the 80's here and I'm loving it! We are 4 inches below our normal rainfall which is great for my mood but terrible for those that have allergies! Everything is yellow. My truck looks like it's green when it's blue with yellow on top!:lmao: Yesterday was a productive day around here, mowed yard, washed truck, saw TMNT, ate sushi (Ethan's choice) and hung in the hood with the neighbors. This evening we are going to go fishing in the lake across from my house. Doubt we catch anything because I only use worms and a cork! Ethan wants to go so we will go.

How was TMNT? My boys want to see that when they get back from their vacation.

It is beautiful here today as well. I wish tomorrow wasn't Monday. It is too nice to go to work.

My mom gave me her Disney Photo Pass number so I can log on and see the pictures that have been taken of the boys at Disney World. It is so weird to see my youngest getting his picture taken with all the characters and me not be there with him. They have never been anywhere like this without me there with them. I really wish I was at Disney with them right now, but my DH and I couldn't take off that much time to go with them. My parents are having a blast with the boys, and I know my boys are having the time of their lives. By the way, when looking at the pictures, I noticed that the Meet the Robinson characters were out and about. I didn't know they were out in the parks yet. Both my boys want to see that movie as well.

TMNT Review: I was going to the movies thinking I could take a nap like I sometimes do when Ethan picks the movie:lmao: . This movie is actually good! I had to explain a few things to him b/c the movie starts 3,000 yrs ago and once he "got it" he didn't ask anymore questions. There were adults in there without kids watching also. I figured they probably liked them in their youth as well. Overall I give it two thumbs up:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 .:rotfl2:

Sorry, I couldn't resist! I'm making roast and potatoes with broccoli and cheese. Yummy! We went fishing and caught some sticks and algea, but that was about it. We got to see 6 male ducks fight over one poor lady duck. She was trying her best to get away but they surrounded her. Now that was something to see. I also gave Ethan a little lesson in why the male ducks were fighting over the gal. "they want to marry her". Good enough for now!:rotfl2:

I do have to admit to being young enough to have seen the original tmnt movie in high school out with friends at the theatre... so I will probably take him =-)

We started really packing today for our cruise on the Carribean Princess that leaves next Sunday, we drive to the port on Saturday, so we will be familiar with the area when we go in October. I will be so happy to be on vacation in a week.

Now I just need to figure out what we are forgetting to bring, we have two cabins this time (4th cruise and first and possibly only time with two cabins for the 4 of us) so I need two power strips and some other things...

Oh, Happy Day!
I don't see any problem with joining that thread now. Getting a decent cat 9, I don't know. We're not experienced enough. I'd think it wouldn't be too much of an issue. One thing I read somewhere, perhaps from Mommasita, was to fill out a slip requesting a quote the day we board. This way, you can beat the rush to the desk as the week goes on.

Which one of us said they were thinkingof being the Morton salt girl for Halloween?
Please let me know.

If you still plan to do this or not. My DH bought me a Mickey Mouse rain coat and matching Umbrella off Disney site i just got it. And I would like to(maybe) use it as a costume if it wouldnt be too close to your costume, i was just thinking of wearing it with the boots i am using for pirates night. this way i dont have to bring anything extra. Except maybe a hat.

this is always tentative as i use the womans perrogative(sp?) more times than i care to count!

Does anyones DH golf??? I would like to surprise DH with the Golf excursion to Mahogony Run in St. Thomas, but I am not a golfer and I am sure he would rather go with someone he "knows" LOL ( 'cause I really do "know" all of you;) )
DD8 and I can manage shopping on our own or just hanging out. Are any of you willing to give up your DH for a few hours????

The tours I am looking at are the "DUCK" tour in St. Maarten, my DD has always wanted to do this and DH is taking her to Discovery Cove for her birthday so the dolphin encounter isn't a must do now.

I also have looked into the Atlantis submarine tour for St. Thomas if golfing doesn't work out.

Oh, and is anyone dining late?? WHEN I get rebooked we are going to choose late seating. Does anyone want to link up?

I know DH would be really excited if I told him he could play golf, he was been unwilling to get excited since the "VISA" incident. Morning all! I've actually had to turn the airconditioner on the past few days! Loving it but won't like the bill:scared: . This pollen is killing everyone around here. Nuclear yellow powder is on EVERYTHING! Claritin is scarce on the shelves at Target.

I tried on my bathing suits from last year and almost passed out. Please, for the sake of your own sanity, at least get a little color before you try on a bathing suit. It'll make you look better! My white self is horrible in a bathing suit at the moment. :scared1: At least when we cruise I'll still have a little of my Caribbean sun left from first one!pirate:

Will be calling next month for dinner ressies for that night as well when we hit the 6 month mark.
Excursions....pretty well decided on Rhino Riders & St John island tour I think. Still want to do the Spa Suite & I am giving up the dolphins for that I think as DH said I had to choose.
Good to see you Maria.....I've been missing you. :goodvibes:
You & Paula are going to put all of us to shame with all that excercising. I have got to get my butt in gear. Happily Weight Watchers is going better. Down 2lbs this week....headed back in the right direction. Have been walking more since it's getting so nice & springy out, but still no commited excercise program yet. I believe the MNSSHP tickets go on sale May 1st.... at least they have the last couple of years. :goodvibes

I can't wait ... this is the month that we can start making dining ressies... we should all try to make dinner ressies in MK so we can stay in the park while they shut down and transform it... What would be your choice? Crystal Palace, Tony's Town Square or Liberty Tree Tavern? :confused3

We did this two years ago... went back to the hotel for an early afternoon rest, returned to the park at 4 ish... had an early dinner at 5 ish... and then when the park "re-opened" with all the cool Halloween stuff we were already there! :cool1:

OK, once again y'all need to talk me into doing MNSSHP vs getting a park hopper. First of all, how late does MGM stay open in the fall? That would be my first deciding factor. I just know Ethan is going to want to go to MGM and see Indiana Jones and he won't understand that we can only go to MK. I was thinking if we went to MK during the day Friday and hopped to MGM while everyone was at MNSSHP we'd have a blast. But then again, I don't want to miss something that I'll probably never see again!

OK, too much thinking this early in the morning. I'll probably just end up going to MGM during the day and MNSSHP at night. The lines are short for the rides at MNSSHP aren't they? He's not much into trick or treating. He'll do it here, but I know when we are at MK he'll be ready to ride instead of wait in line for candy.

My brain hurts now! I must go shower and get ready for work!pirate:

My boys are still having an absolute blast with my parents in Disney World. My oldest DS who is 9 (Tyler) went with my dad to a Spring Training Atlanta Braves game last night and had lots of fun. I think they were all heading back to EPCOT today to do some of the things they hadn't done yet. Did I mention how much I wish I was there?

Just dropping in to say HI! Just spent the last hour catching up with everything.

Haven't been on in awhile, but still can't wait to go. I too have been on a diet! Our community swimming pool opens this Saturday (BRRR!) and I promised the kids this year that I'd put a swimming suit on and go play with them!

A little under 7 months to go! Can't wait. We're staying in DW for a couple days after the cruise so I'm crossing my fingers to get our DVC accomodations we want, can't make the ressie's until next week though. We figured since we are going all the way accross country might as well spend an extra couple days. Of course, the kids aren't complaining - no school for a few more days! I only have a 25th Wedding Anniversay once:love:

So......now 2 folks have come over checking on Chris....anybody find out what's up with him???? :confused3:

Paula.......we love MNSSHP. I think in the fall MGM tends to close around 7pm. I think you guys would love the party....we went on Halloween night in 2004 & still had almost no wait for rides. It really is a lot of fun & the parade & fireworks are really cool. You will have fun no matter what you decide, but my vote is for the party. You can get in around 4 with your ticket & ride rides, then eat dinner & be ready for the party to start at 7.

Dizzi....good luck with the Project Runway casting call :shamrock:

Lori......wow 25 years that is awesome.

OK, once again y'all need to talk me into doing MNSSHP vs getting a park hopper.

My dear ... MNSSHP is not about the trick or treating... I think, if anything, that is the least of all reasons that we go. Noah isn't a big candy eater and quite frankly prefers to hand out the goods vs. run around and get them! :rotfl:

MNSSHP is about seeing the park all transformed into a Halloween Party, the characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes and the almost no line rides!!!!

The beginning of the MNSSHP parade is AMAZING!!!! I won't ruin it for you... but you HAVE to see it!! :woohoo:

If no one is interested in doing dinner... I might take Sarah and Noah to Cinderella's castle for dinner that night. We'll be on the dining plan and it takes 2 dinner credits. Sarah won't even be here the first night we are and we plan on going to DTD that night to have dinner with two of my underwriters that live in FL anyway so I'll have enough credits. Sarah is a HUGE princess fan... and I think it would be special to have her first dinner at WDW in Cinderella's Castle... don't you?:cloud9:

Paula: MNNSHP is a must!! I here "JACK" will be there LOL, It really is a fun time and the ride wait is at a minimum.

Kimmie, We will meet for dinner if you like, just let me know the details.

Spent the day at DTD with my DD and my niece. We had a blast and I started making my list of CRUISE MUST HAVES. They have SO MUCH POC stuff!!!
and the Princess dresses are getting SOOO fancy!! They are just stunning.
DD wants to be Minnie for Halloween and they have the cutest sparkling dress and accessories!! and best of all

DD was picked as ARTIST OF THE DAY!!!! ( she was coloring at "Pooh Corner" waiting for me to finish shopping with her cousin) and a CM came over and gave her a Disney Dreams certificate stating she was the artist of the day and placed her drawing in a frame for all to see. DD was thrilled:wizard:

She also received a pin and an art set from another CM. I will try to load up the pics ASAP. What a great day.

we leave tomorrow night to start the drive down to Fort Lauderdale for our spring break cruise on the Caribbean Princess. I will not be telling the kids that we will be basically driving by Disney to get there.

But I am ready to be there already! party:

That being said when I get back I will be ready to start day dreaming about our October Cruise =-).

My questions:
How do I convince DH to do the night at the MK, sorry I can not remember the abbreviation for the Halloween night, the night before we cruise? It would require another day off for him and another for each child off of school...

I see you all talking about booking reservations, spa treatments, etc at 3am? How far out is that? I assumed it was after final payment, but could I be wrong?

This is our 5th cruise but our first on Disney, so any other insider information will be greatly appreciated.

Well our bags are 90% packed and I convinced DH to make our way to Savannah after work tomorrow night and then down to Fort Lauderdale we go the next day for our Sunday departure.

I look forward to getting to know everyone more when we return!

we leave tomorrow night to start the drive down to Fort Lauderdale for our spring break cruise on the Caribbean Princess. I will not be telling the kids that we will be basically driving by Disney to get there.

But I am ready to be there already! party:

I see you all talking about booking reservations, spa treatments, etc at 3am? How far out is that? I assumed it was after final payment, but could I be wrong?

This is our 5th cruise but our first on Disney, so any other insider information will be greatly appreciated.

Well our bags are 90% packed and I convinced DH to make our way to Savannah after work tomorrow night and then down to Fort Lauderdale we go the next day for our Sunday departure.

I look forward to getting to know everyone more when we return!

Happy Easter

tsoccer have a GREAT cruise!!! :cheer2: If you see a man in his early fifties wearing shorts and fly away gray hair and his wife wearing jean's and anything with a flag on it... it's my Brother and SIL. They are going on the Spring Break Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale as chaperones for their son on his Senior Trip. Get this... that's ALL they know... the port they leave from. No details, no excursions planned, not a clue about what ports they will visit - can you imagine being so uniformed? :confused3

I am going to willingly admit that i am soo freakin jealous of you right now! Me too dizzi!!! By the way, get back to sewing!! We want to see you on TV!!!

awww, Kim

But you seem good with it, right? I am, simply because I've had reservations from the beginning about these issues and let his dimple blind me. I became his "therapist" and listened to his venting and anger more than anything toward the end. Not a fun relationship! :sad2:

Kimmi...i just love when a woman knows when to break up ...shows real strength! AWESOME!!!!! WOMEN RULE!!!!! Yes, dizzi - we do RULE!!! (Sorry guys, we still love ya!):grouphug:

That being said when I get back I will be ready to start day dreaming about our October Cruise =-).

My questions:
How do I convince DH to do the night at the MK, sorry I can not remember the abbreviation for the Halloween night, the night before we cruise? It would require another day off for him and another for each child off of school...
It is cool, but if it is going to be a problems for school and work, skip it and just arrive ready to party on the ship.

For Castaway Cay Club members, pervious cruisers, it is 90 days before, for Concierge it is 105 days before, for newbies it is 75 days before. At 3 am on the day you can book, new screens will open on www.disneycruise.com and you can do online booking for palo, spa, excursions, and pre-register kids in the clubs. That is also the best order to do these bookings in.

I want to go to the MNSSHP!
When can we get tickets, and how can we hook up with everyone?

You order the tickets from Disney... they go on sale around May 1st. Those of us that will be there will meet up at sometime to put real faces with the real names! My sitter (Sarah - 24 then) and Noah and I will be there for dinner... trying to decide where so we can stay in the park while they kick everyone else out and transform it from the regular MK to MNSSHP with all the decorations! It's lot's of fun!

The Trick or Treating is pretty lame... it's not about that... it's about seeing the park all dressed up, the cool parade and the park is closed to the general population... it's much less crowded and rides are much easier to get on!

Seeing the characters dressed up for Halloween is cool too. We've done it for 2 of the past 3 years. The weather has always been perfect and the night very special! We were there on Halloween night in 2005!

Hi everybody...

Dizzi...it wasn't me. I will be Mary Poppins & DH Bert.

We will probably do dinner at Liberty Tree at MNSSHP. Love the characters dressed up in costume & some of the wait staff puts on scary Haunted Mansion type make-up. We did this dinner at our last MNSSHP in 2005.

Kimmie...the castle would be a perfect dinner spot for a Princess lover.
Also, sorry about your break up, but better that than turn yourself into his personal therapist.

Glad to see ya Chris....you were worrying us folks.

Have an awesome cruise tsoccer5 & family.......so jealous here. Wish we were cruising so soon too!!!!

And now, for a shameless plug: We've decided to post a trip report from our 10/05 cruise. Dated, to say the least. But we thought we'd share. Here's a link:

I think I counted right... but just wanted to be sure....

Those of us that are have sailed with DCL before have to be paid in full and can make ressies by 7/29 (90 days out)... 75 days is 8/13... right?:confused3

If we haven't paid in full by 7/29 then we have to wait until we are paid in full... but that drop dead dead line is 8/13... Right?

pjpoohbear

Kimmie you are right, although some of us may have the 07/29/2007 as their cancel date as well, final payment date changed after most of us had booked, and is now 90 days before hand. I am a 8/13/07.

Here's a link to a thread discussing the 4/1 Disney show marathon on the Travel Channel. They're saying that some (3) of the show will be updated from their original versions. Including the cruise show :boat: . Shows start at 1400, with the new ones at 1900 or 2000.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1403861

Dates we've made note of:
4/29 t-6 months for 10/26 ADR's
7/14 booking Palo, etc for those in suites or who purchased REAS
7/29 Castaway Club (repeat DCL cruisers) booking
8/13 first-time DCL cruisers

Every moment creeping closer... :tiptoe:

OK, y'all talked me into it. I'm feeling like doodoo today. Pollen is REALLY bad this year, doesn't usually bother me but is wreaking havoc this year. I still got up and did my weights though!

I'm sorry I've been MIA lately, in case y'all even noticed:lmao: . I'm trying to get my family cruise situated. It's kinda fun only having 4 months to decide what to do:rotfl2: . I'll post links to what I've got planned so far. I'll probably do that tonight or tomorrow. I'm cooking some chicken right now and won't have time.

Did I mention I tried on some shorts today? I look like an elephant's ****:scared1: and am only going to eat chicken, cheese, salad and tomatoes for a week (or as long as I can hold out) to try to get some muscle tone!

I'll holla at y'all later. Gotta make sure the chicken isn't burningpirate:

Chris! So good to see you again! You need to broadcast the exact days you're going to be gone so nobody will worry!

I'm so excited about our July cruise! Here are some links as promised! The first link is the Eco Tour we are doing on Antigua http://www.adventureantigua.com/tour.html#EcoTour

This link is to the beach on St John where I'll be on a mission to find a sea turtle. Don't worry, if I don't find one, I won't be too disappointed. I'll just have to find one on our crusie!http://www.stjohnbeachguide.com/Beaches/francis.html

Can't y'all just see us sitting there on that beautiful beach! It's not as touristy as others so no facilities. I'm going to bring a collapsable cooler and load it down at the peir with some adult beverages (and Ethan's drinks too) and off we'll go to snorkel and spend the day in paradise!:woohoo:

So, there we were, eating our lunch. Leftovers from 2 different takeout lunches yesterday. DW is leafing through the catalogs. If deemed worthy, they're dated on the back and retained. If not, they're flung over the couch to the recycle basket. Next thing I know, I'm hearing happy hmmmm's from my right. Now, the leftovers are good and all but... As I glance to my right, I see it: the Pottery Barn Kids Catalog has been sent to a couple of DINKS. Again. More happy sounds, and I look closer: PIRATES! :pirate: All sorts of pirate picnic, party, and bedroom stuff. Maps, costumes, plates, napkins, banners, etc. Next page: the bedroom. I'm in trouble here. Wall map, bedding, etc. I've been assured that the master bed and bath are safe. Needless to say, it has been deemed most worthy.

Sean I did see the PBK stuff since that store is a HUGE downfall for me , well for my DH I mean .

Chris, Glad to see ya again . Where have you been hiding ?

Tonight is our card and cookout night with our friends and I just made myself an apple Martini. WOOHOO :drinking1 Althou it looks and tastes nothing like the one I had on the cruise but it will still serve its purpose. Hamburgers, salt potatoes, macaroni salad, baked beans and drinks are on our menu for the night. LOTS & LOTS of drinks:woohoo: , it's been awhile. I even bought the new Bailys with the carmel, not to sure how good it is going to mix with vodka and Vermouth. Oh Well :confused3 , we will see later.:lmao: :rotfl: If DH has to put a blanket on me while I am passed out on the floor by the computer then that means not a good choice.
