I'm still around! Was off today and got up early to go to a water park about 65 miles away. We took a chance when it was about to storm here and headed north east. All day we had people calling and checking on us. My friend and her son went. It was overcast, but not storming like it was here. We got about 4 hours worth of play before the rain made it there. I'm tired now. The good kind of tired though.
I've also been busy at work. Start working Sunday and don't stop until my "other" cruise. We'll see how that goes. I may just have to take the Sunday before off and use some vacation time. I don't know if I'll be able to stand it!
Well, gonna go raid the kitchen. We are starving!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah Kimmilee nows there a pick up place, almost all men       anhd they are all very freindly, just gotta get yoursellf an AV or pretend you have one :)
A fan club board for Avalanche owners? I never would have guessed such a thing exists. Sean and I have been thinking about getting an Avalanche, so I'll be interested to hear how you like it. Coincidently, my car is an Impala also. Yours looks like mine, maybe the same model. Mine is LS with the "sport appearance package".

07-06-2007, 10:01 PM
Hi Christine
Yes, it is the Impala LS :) heated leather seats , moonroof, all the bells and whistles. Is yours also black? I am finding it so hard to keep clean. I am out there a few times a week polishing.
I have been looking at the what I like to call AVE'S for a few years and fell in LOVE  with them when they first came out. I will definetly let you guys know what we think about it, I'm sure it is everything I dreamed of.
Only 3 more sleeps :cloud9: till I get her :yay: :yay: :yay:

Maria, mine is silver so I guess it does not show the dirt as much as a black car would. Yup, all bells & whistles you named. It seems that there are very few with the sport appearance package so when Sean and I are out and see an Impala he'll say "wing, no sap" or "wing with sap"

Sean wants me to make a decision asap so we are ready when the time comes to book. The only one we (me) are undecided on is at St Thomas. I would love to see St John by taking an excursion, Sean would rather stay at St Thomas and do the kayaking. If we go to St John, it sounds like its an all day thing because of the time it takes to get there and back. If we do kayaking, we would still have time left in the day to do other things at St Thomas or on the ship.
We have decided that at St Martin we will go shopping and maybe spend time on the ship. At CC, we will do stingrays and I would also like to rent bikes.
Moonies, what excursions are you doing?

St. Maarten - we are going to the beach near the airport where the jets fly over... with Paula and E.
St. Thomas/St. John - I think Magen's Beach... but most likely on our own, not with a tour... I'd also like to take Noah to Blackbeard's castle!

Good Morning Moonies! Sorry if I've been posting less lately. I've been busy with work and getting ready for my "other" cruise in 2 weeks from today! I'm starting my 11 day work stretch tomorrow so I'll probably be on a little less than I like.
S&C- We'll be one of 7 ships in St Thomas the day we are there. There's going to be a ton of people there that day. I may just take E to see Bleackbeard's castle and hang on the ship. I'm still thinking of the Doubloon sail and snorkel. Undecided as of yet.
Maria-Glad you're getting you're new truck! Of course you have to match your camper with your truck. Here it's a ski boat you have to match.
Kim-Cool luggage! I bought a hawaiin print for E's luggage. Instead of getting one huge suitcase I just got E his own. That way we can find our things without digging thru all of them. Of course I'll put a change of clothes for myself in his and his in mine in case one gets lost.
Well, I have to go shopping and finish up our clothes. I found both of my formal dresses and now we have to get E's pants and ties. UGH. He's not happy about going. Then all I'll have left is suntan lotion and little things like that. The good thing is I'll have very little to do for our cruise!
Y'all have a fantastic day!
PS Chris, how do you have a camera set up in my house? How did you get that pic of me and my boyfriend?pirate:

I love the pictures Pam.......you & hubby are too cute!!!!!!!!!!! And you look awesome by the way......I have to get my butt in gear & loose some more weight before the cruise. Love the cake, but I can see where only kids might appreciate it!
We loved  the Rasul & will be booking it again for this trip. Probably our only spa treatment. I was gunning for the spa suite......but think the whole meeting Rick thing probably knocked me out of talking DH into that. :lmao:

Hey Melanie, That's why I am still up, I've been watching/listening to Live Earth all night.......GOOD STUFF
Thanks for the compliment, ahhh but all you see is my face it's my BEHIND that needs the wide-load sign. Even with all the weight I have lost I am still in the plus size category and am DREADING the whole swimwear part....but I digress atleast I am moving forward and after a visit to Dr. Plastic next year hopefully I will be able to sport a fabulous suit without a HEAD TO TOE cover-up!!:rotfl:

I LOVE the cake. Is that all the ingredients that you mentioned? I may make it for camping in 3 weeks for all the kids. I'm sure they will go nuts over that. We do a potluck on Saturday nights and that can be our desert that we bring :)
OMG, I went out last night with my neighbor to the Grandby days, mostly live bands and booze, I have not been out with a girlfriend like that in over 6 years. I will have to say thou that the people there made our town look like the toothless capital of the world. :scared1:  . I did get my head blown up when my friends son and his friends thought I was 29 or 30 :yay: . One must have missed where I mentioned things about my husband and kids because at the end of the night he asked if he could call me :confused3 :rotfl2: I was wondering why he was standing next to me for hours on end :lmao:
Well it's going to be over 90 here today so looks like a pool day for us.

I found this description on the internet: Blackbeard's Castle is steeped in elusive piratical history with Edward Teach, the fearsome Blackbeard pirate, as its namesake. The Danish watchtower was built in 1679 and originally called Skytsborg Tower, before Blackbeard's arrival in the Caribbean in the early 1700s.
The castle is one of the five National Historic Landmarks of the US Virgin Islands. After its infamous beginnings, it was a private residence for many years before becoming an exclusive hotel, The Inn at Blackbeard's Castle. Visitors are able to climb the tower and wander freely around the castle's exterior, mingling with the statues of history's famous pirates.

Paula  & pixiedust: to help you get through your long working stretch. I can't believe your "other" cruise is almost here.
Kimmielee  for having to date. Oh, how I don't miss those days.....I hope Prince Charming is out there & you meet him soon. Why aren't people just honest about how they look? :confused3:

Lynn...we didn't see Alicia Keys.......wow was Bon Jovi good though.
Pam......I know how you feel.......I have been slacking with my diet & excercise a bit lately & I can feel it. I am GETTING back on track tomorrow & getting my excercise routine going. I have to get some more of this weight off before the cruise around the moon. Good luck to you as well.....we can sit by the pool together with our cover-ups while Miss Paula & Miss Christine prance around with their well excercised bods!!!! LYMI girls!!!! :lmao:

I just finished making curtains for 2 windows for the in-laws lake cottage. It took me 2 months and I think my back muscles have permanent knots. I'm hoping to come up with a plan for pirate night soon and probably get help from a lady who has done alterations for me in the past. I think if I do any more sewing I will be dressing as the Hunch-Back Pirate. pirate:

Thanks for all the good lucks and hugs for the next week and a half. It'll surely be worth it when we are sailing off into the sunset. I have a camera phone now and may be able to email Kim some pics while I'm on the cruise. She can share them with y'all!

I have had a better day today........no crying....but then again we did have to go help my brother unload his moving truck as they just moved back home from NC. No time for crying.
Wow Maria.......you got hit on & confused for a 29 year old. You must be doing something right girl!!!!.
Pam, I am glad to see you are feeling better, I have been in your spot trust me , but usaully I can't figure out why I am crying
As for the 29 year old thing . I think it's more because I act like I am 20ish, the one told me he has never seen anyone SOOOOO bubbly in his life and he mentioned that far too much, however I have always been that way. In fact on of the car dealers told me he can't talk to me in the morning and I should call later in the day because he is not ready for me that early :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

One of my good friends got married on Saturday (yes, one of the millions of 7/7/07 brides) and is flying off to Hawaii for two weeks today. We were invited to join one their cruise the second week but we booked this cruise instead (DH chose Castaway Cay hands down over an 11 hour plane ride). Though I only live few minutes from the beach, I think I’d rather be in Hawaii about now. Or Castaway Cay, or Florida, or anywhere else with palm tree that aren’t imported for the summer tourist season…. :cool2:
At least we get to book stuff soon!

Ah, sunscreen. Going to the race track can lead to quite a burn, also. Hope you feel better, Dizzi. Lots of aloe. I did pretty good with my sun plan: sunscreen before leaving for the track, sunscreen again upon arrival at the track, back out to the car for snacks/meal-more sunscreen. Break in activities on the track-more sunscreen. I can still feel the layers today.
Time for some dinner,

Oh Sean. Inquiring minds want to know....what is it???????
I had to wait until Saturday to find out, as Christine couldn't get to the Post Office until then. I won't make all of you wait: I won a Year of a Million Dreams (YOAMD) prize!
Now, I got to spend Thursday late afternoon through Saturday lunch imagining what it could be. DVC membership, Cruise (sounding the ships horn), WDW trip, etc. I finally figured it was either: our cruise documents (but nobody here had mentioned anything, so that chance was low), a YOAMD set of mouse ears, or a pin set. Powered up the cell phone during a break in racing around 10am. No message. If it was a big prize, I figured she'd be unable to control herself, and would call. Turns out, I was right: I won a special YOAMD lanyard and pin set. 2 pins: 1 Mickey/Minnie, 1 Donald/Goofy. Stating "Where my dreams came true". I don't normally win prizes or lotteries, so perhaps this is the start of some luck this way. I'm happy to have won a little something.

Hi everyone
Well we are home. It was a VERY VERY VERY long day. Had problems with the certified bank check right off the bat, it didn't clear , so plan no: 2 borrow half the money from Mom & Dad and withdraw the other from barry's bank, key catch is we don't have that kinda money laying around so they told us to overdraw we are covered until the check clears.
O.k, that worked out . Next the seller said while we were on our way up that he was having second thoughts. WHAT , I am livid by now , I DON"T want to hear this.
O.K, At his house. He said I hate to throw more salt on your wounds but I have to tell you the air bag check light came on. OMG , this is good news to me I said , the best I heard all day !!!
OH heres a kicker for the morning. Barrys boss says to me while I am dropping him off " you have the nerve to be here" WAIT WAIT WHAT "? Thats a whole other story.
O.K, At the bank . I have all cash you would have thought I robbed the nearest bank to them , they had 5 people over with the teller. Doesn't anyone EVER have cash HELLO your a bank have you ever even seen cash ? We have to do it this way to bring the truck home today !!! Finally after hours and trying to get the insurance to send cards with the right VIN for once it felt like we were there years .
I know ya all know the DMV , yes hours there to, we were 14 after the number c284 , no C298.
Good news is my baby is home and I have been cleaning her since 6:30 , I'll finish tomorrow . I am sooooo tired and ready for bed.
Good night everyone thanks for letting me rant on and on.

Good Morning Moonies! I actually woke up on time today!
I'm starting to wonder if all this overtime is going to be good for me:lmao: I know when I get finished I'll be OK, but it's staring to look like a long time away. I'm hoping to work overtime every other weekend while E is with his dad for this cruise. That way I won't be too tired when our party arrives!
Well, off to shower and go to work. Y'all have a fantastic day!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Moonies! I'm up and alive this morning! That's always a good start!
Pam, thanks for the links. I'm going to try to check them out this morning. I've got a staff meeting at 600 tonight so there's some more OT for me! I'm NOT going to do this before we go on our cruise. I was thinking about when I'll have time to pack, and the time is the day before and the day we leave. That's probably a good thing. Now I won't overpack like I tend to do when I pack early.
Well, off to wake the whelp! Y'all have a fantastic day!

My daughter was off swimming with a friend so my son and I needed something fun to go and do. So off to the Disney store we went!
I came out with matching hawaiian shirts for DH and DS, matching T shirts for DD and DS, 2 new pairs of jammies for DS (PoC & Cars), one for DD (Ariel), bathing suits for DS (Cars) and DD (Minnie), some $1 treats for the kids as surprises... all for $70! =-) Gotta love a great sale! But I think I just realized that I did not get anything for me! Guess I will just have to shop online today for something for me =-).
Ahhh, I love shopping!

It is gorgeous here today . The humidity finally moved out and it is 78 and sunny. the girls are swimming and I am trying to get my tan back since I have been indoors all week IE: damn truck, oh yeah drove 40 miles for a dentist appointment yesterday and when I got there they said my dentist went home sick. I have to have a filling down before my whitening on Wednesday next week.
Oh get this. I am still debating the whitening now since when I talked to them I asked if I will see a noticable difference. They said um most people see some difference WHAT? $650.00 I better see soemthing :rotfl: besides an empty bank account :lmao:
JNS, That is really nice! Someone on our other cruise did something similar . She took a picture from each family that was cruising and did a big poster for her door. That was so neat.

I would love to join in on brunch but you can only go once per cruise right?? DH mentioned how nice it would be to have a "romantic" brunch. I would say
we could just "do" dinner but neither of us have very fancy tastes, DO you think we would enjoy dinner as much??

that is soooo cool Kim, I saw someone doing that on the door sign thread, but I have NO IDEA how to do that:confused3 HOW NEAT, I am playing around right now with some images of the magic ship....
To save the wallpaper I just pick the size then click download and when the picture pops up in the new window I just right click COPY, it doesn't actually download it it just brings up to the size you need, then I edit it and stretch it to fit.

With REAS, we get a Palo dinner, but I'm hoping that won't effect our efforts to get brunch. I've got this fear that the system will prevent me from booking both tomorrow.
After reading some posts about spinning, I don't think you'll see us doing that on the cruise. People said that its not a good idea to do for the first time on a cruise. They complained of soreness afterwards for a day or so. More time for us in the Rainforest room.

It's been 4 FREAKING MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called last week and had them expadited for free, but she still couldn't guarantee that I'd have them in time. UGH. Good thing all I have to do is cross the street where I work and get E's birth certificate.
Hope you get it sorted out soon :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Just got done booking everything. For some reason, I woke up at 0430 ;) , but forced myself to sleep a little longer. When the alarm hit at 0555, it was go time. Not that DW was starting to nudge me out of the bed or anything :rolleyes1
I found it to be quite easy. There were only 3 brunch time slots at Palo each at sea day: 1030, 1100, and 1130. I suppose it is to get the place cleared for Tea. The system budgeted 2 hours for brunch. If something isn't available, it will still show, but will be shaded out. An example was an 1800 Palo dinner slot that wasn't available.
Each activity type (Palo, Spa, Excursions) has its own section. And each activity has an amount of time posted for it (start-end). This is nice, because when I was booking training for DW, it showed a blue triangle with a white exclamation mark in it for the training slots that conflicted with our Palo brunch. There was also a statement about the conflict right there. So the system starts to build you a calendar like the Microsoft Outlook Calendar function.
If you saved items to your wish list, they'll have a white background (instead of blue) as well as a blue circle with a white heart in it. It makes them easier to find if you're looking at all the excursions available for the entire cruise. I believe you can also narrow the list down to just your wish list items. Just don't forget to go to the bottom of the page and select those persons from your cabin that will participate on the excursion/activity/Palo. I forgot that once, and got an error message from the system.
Lastly, I'd say to have a plan B. :bride: 's training is at 0830 one day, but we're early risers. The trainer on our other cruise was more than happy to meet her at 0700ish. We'd forgotten that it was outside the normal times. So when we went to book that, we had to rethink the day to do it. Didn't want to bump up against any other activities. We've looked at some old Eastern Navigators, and penciled in some classes/etc. on a calendar. We understand that they can, and do, change, but it is a starting point.
Next up, the 90 day folks. 7/29, I believe

Sip champagne as you sail on a romantic fairy tale voyage to the Bahamas or the Caribbean. Discover special Disney touches: a romantic gift left in your room, priority seating at the exquisite Palo restaurant, a Tropical Rain Forest room pass at the Vista Spa & Salon and more.
On board, you'll receive:
Romantic gift amenity delivered to your stateroom (one per package)
Tropical Rain Forest pass for two at the Vista Spa & Salon (length of cruise)
Priority Seating at Palo with a bottle of wine from the Premium Wine List (one night)
Romance turndown service (one night)
Champagne breakfast in bed (one morning)
The gift is, at last report, a basket with 2 DCL robes and photo frame in it. When we got this in 2005, there were no robes, but rather a massage for 2. For the breakfast in bed, I believe the menu selection is greater than the normal breakfast selections.

I checked the Passporter last night. There are only 22 suites. Not sure how many book the REAS. So, fewer people going for more options at 105 days is our theory. If we were booking at 90 days, I probably would have gotten out of bed when I woke up at 0430.

Just (finally) went out to get the paper. Almost didn't see the brown slip of paper taped to the front door. Seems I've got a certified parcel from Disney! Another one??? The last one was a "large envelope, magazine, catalog, etc." My plans for the gym are rapidly fading.
Guess where I'm off to?

Sean
Remember this from Monday? It seems I'm both lucky and clairvoyant. I got a box from the Dream Squad containing Disneyland Year of a Million Dreams special mouse ears. Christine wants to take a picture of me with my winnings to post. Needless to say, I bought more prepaid postcards this morning. And, you can win twice.

I'm off to work. Only 5 more days of work after today and 6 until we leave to FLL! I'm getting more excited every day. I only have a couple of problems, I haven't begun to pack and the passports. Oh well, if those are the only problems I encounter I'll be doing fine!
Y'all have a great day!
Congratulation on winning
we cannot enter from here , they can in the UK and a few have won the pins and hats haven't heard of any of the big prize winners yet so keep posting them cards and good luck :wizard:

Hi Guys, i have had a bit of a roller coaster so of events happen to me this past couple days.
To make some long stories short........
1. THE UP HILL STORY!!!! I FOUND a piano YES found, by the side of the road up from our house. IT is in very good shape, it was in front of some ones house, i did make sure i asked if they were really getting rid of it and then QUICKLY moved it to my house. There are only about 8 keys which need new strings it is even in GREAT TUNE!!!!!! I have been trying to find the right place for it in the house, and trying to bring back to memory how to use the thing as i have not played in OH about 15 years.
2. THE DOWN HILL STORY!!!!! I put my car in the shop for some routine warranty stuff. I rented a car under my warranty. had it for 2 days. yesterday as i went online to pay some bills i saw a $500 charge on my card for the rental car. They say there was a scratch on the bumper...NO THERE WASNT, they are charging me for it and not only did they not let me see, they rented the car back out before getting it repaired. I have of course contacted my CC company to dispute it , but i dont know what will be done, I have to say i was and am extrmely depressed, up set, peed off, angry etc etc abotu this whole mess, and hope it coems to soem kind of decent resolution.

Oh my gosh.... no bears... no SNAKES and a ton of fun!!! Ok, I can get past sleeping on a slope so my head was lower than my feet... pretty sure I was on a ground hog hole and he was moving around under the tent and the tent I borrowed was SEE THROUGH - but other than that... what an amazingly fun time for Noah!!!!
I had forgotten how 8 little boys can laugh at absolutely nothing for hours, be fascinated by a campfire, mesmerized by a story or a skit that will eventually will have them so scared they think it's over and then laughing so hard they almost peed their pants! I can't wait 'till next years campout.
However, lessons I've learned:
1. White capri pants and camping.... not a good idea. :rotfl:
2. Air mattress is a must! :thumbsup2
3. Check out tent in advance - being one of the only Mom's that was with her son and the ONLY one with a see through tent... not so good! :rotfl2:
4. Scout (no pun intended) a better spot without encroaching on a ground hog and make sure it's level!
If Ronnie were around... he'd have given me some pointers first!! I'll try to post a really cool pic I took at the campfire later today!
CHRIS - I hope things get straightened out with DCL customer service!! I had an issue on my first cruise. I had booked the Cabana Massage and decided to cancel. However, Noah and I were at WDW when I decided that and no access to a 'puter :surfweb: so... I called. I was told that I couldn't cancel over the phone if I made the ressie on line. I tried to explain that I was already in FL, no 'puter... to no avail. I was so steamed. I ended up having the massage but after found out that they could have cancelled this over the phone!
Pam - You are AMAZING!!! I don't have photoshop. I never had a use for it on my new 'puter and my "trial period" ended. Oh well... I would LOVE one of your signs that has the DIS stuff on it!
My offer, for those with the younger kiddies... is a DCL Journal... I'll make it specific to each child, the cruise, our ports, etc. I've done one in the past for Noah that combined WDW and DCL and he turned it in to his teacher as "homework" to be forgiven for missing school. PM me if you'd like one. I'll get started on them early and mail them out before the trip because you need it for the 'pre-trip" section. It has coloring pages, word searches, word scrambles, etc... and a page for each day of the cruise. When I get Noah's done, I'll email it to you if you'd like to review! :thumbsup2
Paula, you could use this to help you spill the beans about the surprise!
Kim... delighted to haer that the camping went well and that you both enjoyed it . the DCL Journal sounds great if you could make one for my DS9 micheal and just e mail it I'll print it out and it will save mailing it I know he would love it
Chris... hope you get everything sorted out soon can be a real pain in the neck with the time difference and everything
Dizzi..... enjoy the pianio what a great find hope you get the car sorted
well I had a get together with all the in laws today which was nice, and the sun has decided to pay us a visit too we must have had the worst July ever so far Rain rain and more rain

Went to get the mail today. Got another slip for the package from yesterday (that I got this am). Bill, paper, junk, paper, ANOTHER CERTIFIED PARCEL FROM DISNEY??? Yes, indeed it is. Third one in just over a week. Problem is that our schedule won't allow us to go get it any time soon. Once I get it, I'll post what it is. Kicker is- I was home when they delivered today. I didn't hear a knock or doorbell. I'm not sure they even really tried to deliver it. :confused3
At this rate of Disney luck, DW is starting to consider renting my lucky services to people on our cruise when we sail. You know, Bingo, raffles, trivia games, etc. :lmao:
