Congrats to everyone who got their documents and cabin upgrades!!!

Tracy take some Tylenol, well maybe not if you are having flammable beverages. If you skip the flammable take tylenol tonight & ice the area. Take motrin in the AM.

My last test for the summer is Friday afternoon  - this has been a hard class, I can't wait to get it over with. Currently reading about shock.

Taking a break to eat dinner and read the boards.

Congrats Tony!!! Have fun in Monterey- how fab!!

Cheryl- Good luck with your blood sugars. We have most of our patients on insulin drips in the ICU- we keep everyone under 120. (But doing hourly blood sugars kind of stinks!!! Esp if they don't have a line to draw it from)

Elaine,

It may not be as bad as it seems. If you have a frost free frig it sounds like the defrost timer is gone. May be worth the cost of a service call to have it checked out unless the frig is older than 10 years.

Hi Doug....ummmm the frig is from 1964!!!!!! It's a good 'ol frigidaire....original to the house!!! My mom hates to part with it....it's pink...yes...we have a pink frig!!!!!!! I think it's time for a upgrade...

oh and doesn't everyone have a "beer" frig...you know the frig in the basement that you keep your pop/soda, beer, wine etc in?????

Cathy - are you stationed at Andrews? Leslie spent her internship year there. It was neat, but a very long year. We aren't really east coast folks. Too many years in sunny SoCal. She then opted for Luke AFB. Believe when she left, she had made it to Major, or left right before - can't remember. Funny, kind of miss seeing her in the "blues". Now she is back at Luke as a contracted Pyschologist.

I'm actually stationed at the Pentagon. Been here for 3 years. I was stationed in Japan (Okinawa) and Georgia.

If it's from the 60's it is time to let it "rest in peace". The copper they used in the tubing during the 60's was not the best and if it has run this long you got more out of it than most people.

Beside, PINK ?????? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It still works and I don't ever want to part with it. It's the one reason we haven't remodeled the kitchen. We have an historic home here in Florida LOL It's over 45 years old.

One big oven, 1 small oven and the 4 burners pull out with a chopping block in front that shows when it's closed (burners disappear under the ovens).

OMG it sounds like we have the same oven...is it a Tappan Fabulous 400????
One big oven, 1 small oven and the 4 burners pull out with a chopping block in front that shows when it's closed (burners disappear under the ovens).

I should post pictures....

Ours is a Fridgidare Custom Imperial. Same concept. the burners disappear under the oven. Kewl. No chopping block. All stainless steel.

Not only do we have a frig in the garage, we have one in our newly completed outdoor bbq island. Which also has a bar cooler like you would find at your local tavern. Umm, after spending, well, we won't discuss the cost . . . . how stupid was that part. There's already a fridge, why did we need the bar part?! Wow, that was pretty lame now I think about it! Oh well, it does look "kewl".

We have friends (that may be joining us on this cruise :rolleyes1 ) that have a frig in their garage, and one in their office!

I just faxed in our APs for the shipboard credit. Is there any way to verify that it has been applied, other than calling DCL?

I called DCL tonight just to ask about DL APs, and the girl, Melanie, said her manager said they were for WDW only. Makes no sense to me, but then she went and asked again and said it WOULD work WITH Fla Res Rates. So I got her manager's name and will have my TA call again tomorrow and try to ask for him! My TA called last night and they told her it could NOT be combined with FRR. :confused3

My guess is it varies as to whom we talk to. I'll let you know what she finds out tomorrow. :confused3

I love our house. It is actually 44 years old. That is really old for Florida. It was a really big house back in it's day. We have three original bathrooms and walk in closets. unheard of back then. We also have hardwood floors throughout which is not common in Florida. I'm not afraid of hurricanes in this house like I would be in a new house either. It is solid. I hope to draw my last breath in this home. We don't live in the "best" neighborhood but we do live in the best home for us. The bank doesn't own it and as long as we can pay the insurance and taxes it will remain ours. I fell in love the minute I saw this house. That was almost 20 years ago. Everyone thought I was crazy. It was so 60's right down to the tourquise garage door and the pink fridge. We have changed it alot over the years but the stainless steel oven endures. :p

Okay...this is just too weird...our house is 42 years old (older than me)....we also have hardwood floors, and fair size bedrooms...we live in the older part of our town but we love it...it is close to everything and if we had to we can walk to our bank, grocery store, doctor's office, drug store, and even walk to the mall.

Kathryn in MN. KEWL on the veranda…..

Congrats to all that got their DOC’s Still none here in WY.

I was able to get home early, got a story to tell… will do later.

Tracy I hope you are OK, makes me think you really could be related to Leslie.

Peter, with DVC you used to get the stateroom credit, if booked with in a certain time period, 30 days I believe.

Celeste you are welcome, What kind of shock????

PIT, all ya need to make a pink fridg is a can of spray paint….

OK Story time, There I was minding my own business in the Crown Room at SLC, when a gentleman arrives in a wheel chair and then sits down next to me, I looked at him and smiles and then he said “Hello”, I thought I knew the face and the voice confirmed it. It was Billy D. Williams, I had to run to my plane, but it was KEWL.

Our house was built in 1953. Hardwood floors, two bedroom 1 bath. We added on to it in 1990. 2 more bedrooms and another full bath. Rafters in the old section are straight and with no knots in the wood. New part of the house rafters are not as straight and have a lot of knots. Old forest growth versus new forest growth.

Saw a lot of bubba mugs of various sizes at the bass pro shop today. Mike

Our house is at least from the '20's. We have the original hardwood floors in the hallway and living/dining room. It's been added onto a couple of times. And in a few days it will be fully remodeled.

For those of us who are name challenged, I encourage everyone to wear your lanyard, our names will be on them and no one needs to be embarassed about forgeting a name!

For clothes, I have 2 semi formal dressed that I wear on formal night, Scott wears a tux. On other nights, I usually wear either a casual dress, or slacks and shirt. Scott will wear slacks and a tropical print shirt.

We bring enough clothes for dinner, but will often do a load of laundry of shorts and t shirts in the middle of the week.

Of course everyone has 2 fridges, don't they?

Had a conversation with Lamar last night. He was fixin' to report his AMEX card stolen. He saw these "weird" charges to these internet party supply houses on his card for unusual tropical items. I spent a few minutes explaining to him that they were legit. He said OK. Then he came back a couple of minutes later and said, "Aren't we going to just drive over to the pier and get on the ship like we always do and relax"?. :confused3

Yeah right :lmao: :rotfl2:

Funny thing is he's been in on all the planning. Picked out the fabric for his pirate costume. Went to the seamstress on his own. We went over and met Joe and Leslie for the wine Tasting at the Winery together. :goodvibes

Maybe that's it... I scared him!! Poor Lamar... he just wanted to take the cruise to relax? :rotfl: What's that????:lmao: :lmao:

Linda,

BB7 = Big Brother 7

A reality show with it's season finale while we are on the Magic
I remember the first Big Brother - I didn't even know it was still on...that's what you get when you have a 4 year old. Now, I can tell you about all the line up on PBS and Disney channel... Now, I DVR (digital video record) all of the shows that I have to watch - like Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, American Idol (Yes, I am a fan), Alias - now off the air but I didn't start watching until late so I am into the re-runs. :teeth:

OK, I think it's all finally figured out. Talked to DCL last night myself to ask if this would work for those with the DL APs and was told, "No, but if you have an AP it can work for you with your Fla res rate!" She tried to do it for me, but I have a TA, so she said I had to go through her. I made her check with her manager since my TA had been told no the night before. My TA called this morning, and we have $100 credits on two of our three rooms now! :thumbsup2 Sorry for the DL people -- makes no sense to me. APs are APs when it comes to Disney, I should think. :confused3

There all caught up...

OFF TOPIC- but Scott will find this interesting....

Neurogenic, cardiogenic, hypovolemic, Sepsis, multisystem organs dysfunction syndrome (MODS), acute respiatory distress (ARDS), systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), etc. I find shock and all the cascades that follow very, very interesting. It's really cool to watch to body try to compensate and then see what happens when it fails. Although it's not fun for the patient- as a new practitioner, I am fascinated. We currently have a patient who was having a heart cath done (angio) and during it he had a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and he came to us. He was having cardiogenic shock- from his failing heart, started the clotting cascade- hence the brain bleed...and the cascade that follows: ARDS, currently in kidney failure...etc. He will be one lucky man if we can keep him alive during all of this. You basically do a lot of support methods and try to fix the problem, but the cardiac guys won't touch him because of how unstable he is. As with many shocks- low BP, he has been on levophed (last ditch pressor without having a swan in place) for a week now. He's also been on a vent for over a month now and has a feeding tube. Poor guy looks at us like, please can't you just stop this....and his wife cries and cries. :guilty: Breaks my heart, but clinically- very interesting. If he can make it past the 21 day mark of the kidney failure, he will probably be okay...depending on your perspective.

Billy Dee Williams- Robb would have absolutely died!!!! Wonder what he was doing in SLC?

Yes I do find that interesting, the human body is amazing in the way it compensates for those type of events. We are actually designed with some pretty KEWL safety systems. Poor guy I hope he makes it. I guess that is why I really find autopsies fascinating. Did I ever mention I was a Deputy Coroner at one time. As well it goes with the job, at times.

Billy Dee Williams was flying through making a connecting flight.

Just got the old DCL/DVC shuffle when I called to ask about the AP onboard credit..

DCL say it applies, DVC says it doesn’t. Will have AP’s with us so will ask at the port.

So if anyone else who has booked on points and has a different story please advise.

Thanks! We've had him for 12 1/2 years. His best friend died two years ago (Skylar - he was blue). We've had two others in the past, both blue. We bought Carson because Skylar missed his buddy from the store when we got him. We went back to the store and Carson was still there, so we brought him home with us

I know Char & Andy have been getting the same story- and haven't been able to get it. They lost their $200 on board credit from previously booking it and regret using points now. They have tried to get the AP credit and haven't been able to.

Tony, I thought you already had a 'rebooking' credit applied? Didn't you book while on a previous cruise? Didn't think you could double dip. :confused3 :confused3

No, we didn't have a holding reservation at the time, and when we next got on the ship, the fares had gone up so much that it was more expensive to use the rebooking credit...

Do you have a "TA" when you book through points, i.e. a members services person? If not, I'd just copy your APs and fax them with your confirmation number to that original fax number. (I might just do that anyway). If DCL says it applies, can't they just apply it? The lady was going to do it for me last night until she found out I had a TA.

Sorry, the points question didn't cross my mind when I was on the phone with them last night.

Is it better than what I downloaded last weekend? My contacts would keep popping in and out -- online, offline, online,.... You get the picture. I called my mom and she wasn't doing anything different. I know with the older versions now there are sometimes issues with them refreshing the contact list (a change they made when they releaesd 2.5), but that's not nearly as annoying.Odd, that. I don't think I've ever had any problem similar. I've always had it running on a very reliable cable modem (i.e., when it's up, it's up ... and when it's down, it's down, which is rare ... no up/down behavior). I'm honestly not sure when .144 came out though. Sorry. :confused3 :confused3

On the May cruise the final DHW was on and we didn't get very good reception due to the satellite....depends on where we are in the big blue sea. I literally remember them stopping the ship so we didn't lose the satellite image. :rotfl2:

I don't know why I like GA- it is unrealistic in many ways. How many times have you seen a doctor sitting at the bedside for long periods of time, performing enemas, or going with a patient to a test. :lmao: :lmao: Medically they are somewhat accurate. I am thinking about getting a "Seriously!" shirt from the show though...those of you who watch, know what I am referencing. (however the music from the show if FAB!)

No clue. No rumors. Only rumor I heard of is why they are doing these in September -- Hurricane season. Fewer times in and out of Port Canaveral with the longer cruises. Also, hurricanes don't hit that far south in the Caribbean as compared to further north.

Morning all! More great news from the ds16. He has tried out for a play (this is his 3rd year of drama, previous tryouts yielded no parts :confused3 ) and got the part! Dh spoke to him late last night so I am not sure what play his drama club is doing but he sure is glad not to be a backstage guy anymore! He has 88 lines, which is HUGE for him! He drama class is also going to NYC spring break! Kevin groaned a little because he saw $$$$ but he knows this is a great opportunity for Alex. Alex started the phone conversation with "Dad, I FINALLY made it!" and Kev immediately knew what he was talking about, he has wanted this for so long. Just some great news with our family I thought I'd share.

On another note, ladies, tomorrow is Women's Rights Day. Can you we have only been able to vote for 86 years? I am woman, hear me roar...

I hope that doesn't happen, but if it does atleast he got the experience. Kev would be happy if it did (he's already wondering how much film school costs :rolleyes1 ) We got Alex a video camera for his birthday-the kid has a NATURAL talent for video editing and such. Maybe if he becomes some big time director we can retire!!! :lmao: :lmao:
Then we can go on one never ending disney cruise! Wouldn't that be nice :goodvibes

:confused3

Cindi,
Did the TA you use give you any sort of stateroom credit from the travel agency prior to the AP credit? We were told since the TA had already given us a stateroom credit we couldn't get another, that was when we tried to get the Disney Visa Card credit. I need all the credits I can get. I lost my rebooking on the ship credit when I took the Fl Res rate.

Just got off the phone with DCL. Our documents were shipped to our TA on the 23rd, so at least they're on the way to us.

Concerning the WDW AP onboard credit............if you have a rebooking credit or any other form of onboard credit already, you cannot take advantage of the AP credit. Since we already have an onboard rebooking credit on this reservation, that means we can't use the AP credit, or the Disney Visa credit.

Your son is 6 and has an agent? What does he do?

Unfortunately not much yet. We go to lots of "go sees" but they are all for print modeling. (Not what he wants to do- but a way to get his foot in the door) He has been saying since he could talk that he wants to act. He got scouted last year and now has two agencies representing him. That all sounds impressive but he hasn't gotten a job yet. He is definitely a kid for commercials and acting not modeling, but no opportunities have presented themselves as yet. Keep your fingers crossed for him.

Carol, Doris told us that we couldn't get the Dis Visa credit because of the FL res rate. (which at $450 more per room for two rooms was a no brainer for us, of course). We have her credit AND the AP credit, according to DCL. It has more to do with only being able to put in one discount code than it apparently has to do with credits themselves. (I assume this is because I could call and put a credit on your room and you could still get an AP credit.) It may also have to do with the TA itself -- if they bought a group of rooms, their specific room discount code goes in and then you can't add anything else. BUT, then again, the DCL girl told me that this WAS a combinable credit with the Fl res rate, and her manager agreed.

I managed to upload them into the members gallery, but I can't like them to this thread as I haven't posted enough.

So if you want to see what we look like, there is a photo on the roster, which I sent to Tony and our gallery has three photos.

Enjoy.

That's great! i always wanted to be a Rockette. i just never had the guts to try out when I was able. One of my biggest regrets. That's great about your son, some kids just know what they want to do. I begged to be in every pageant possible from the age of 3 and was quite successful. Lots of trophies and crowns and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment even at a young age. :thumbsup2 Great for your son! I really think things like this do so much for kids self esteem. Good ol' Rocky Top!

Thanks all for congrats on Alex. It really makes us proud. If you knew him a few years ago he was the shy little kid who was scared of EVERYTHING! To see him come out of his shell and become the person we always knew he could be is just so rewarding!

On another note, we just made priority seating arrangements for the night of the 16th at 9:40 at Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. I know it's late but we kind of like it when it quiets down in there. If anyone wants to join in we'll be happy to have you! We'll be piggin' out, we just love that place.
