::yes:::hug: She will never learn to be her own person if you and DH always bail her out when she's in trouble, she was old enough to run off and get married right? She is old enough to know what she's doing and to know better, but like you said till she hits bottom nothing is going to change:hug:
I know. I know that DH and I have bailed her out too many times already and then I wonder if that contributed to the way she is.
you have to remember you have wonderful loving boys at home who need you too. Look at how great they are Kathy! If you and DH were the problem woudn't you see it in them too:hug:
The boys are just totally different from her. And we've raised them all the same so it's hard to understand how the boys have a strong work ethic, are so considerate of everyone else and put themselves after everyone else, and know the value of a dollar and know how to save money and she's totally opposite! :confused3 I always try to tell myself that if it was DH and I then the boys would be the same as DD and they're not. I guess it just comes down to when one of your own kids is in trouble or not doing right or failing or whatever, as a parent you always tend to feel it's your fault. I'm trying to get over that feeling but it just isn't easy. :sad2:
Thanks for all the support!!

It was really good!!! I had the Outback Prime Rib. DH had the regular 16 ounce prime rib and Matthew had the regular 12 ounce Prime Rib. We had Matthew get the 12 ounce instead of the 8 ounce so he could bring a little home to share with A.J. and Andrew since they didn't want to go. But the little pit ate it all! :faint: We couldn't believe he ate all of it! We also got a bloomin' onion and at least we saved a little of that to bring home for A.J. and Andrew.

I forgot to say that I was last. Gee, does that still count that I was last all night but had forgotten to say last! ;)
Good morning. I only got about 2-1/2 hours sleep and I feel like a zombie. But I had to get up to run to town and get a few things from Lowes that we ended up not stopping to get last night, getting some groceries for a lunch cookout and then on the way back from town getting a load of mulch. We used a pick-up full yesterday and will still need one more!
Our friend is coming over today to help DH with guttering for the front of the house. He has a gutter machine and he ordered all the stuff and they are going to make the gutters and get them put up today. We're so lucky to have such good friends to give us a hand with our home projects!! We've been talking about getting the guttering done for about 10 years now and we're finally getting around to it! :yay: The gutters are going to be forrest green.
Close to lunch time his wife is going to come over and we're grilling out for lunch.
Then when the guttering is all done and our friends are gone we'll get back to finishing up the pressure washing and mulching! Whew - I'm gonna be very, very tired today.

Well, my mom and I just got back from car shopping for her.
We still really haven't narrowed it down. We need a SUV or Truck that gets good gas milage, under 20Kish, and my Papaw can get into easily. He had a stroke back in august that made the leftside of his body nearly useless.
We looked at (although most couldn't get into because dealerships were closed)...
Chevy Colorado
Scion xb
Pontiac Vibe
A couple Kia's
A couple Hyndais
Saturn Vue
Any other ideas?

We have a 2001 Dodge Dakota and we love it. The only problem might be that it may be hard for your Papaw to up into it. But I don't think it's higher than the Chevy Colorado. It was a year old when we got it and we paid around 17K for it. And it gets about 22-24 mpg in the city! It's a quad cab so there's plenty of room. We really do love it.

We like Dodge's but they are just too pricey for us now. Also, they don't offer near as good as warreties as other companies do.
My mom drives a 97 Dodge Caravan, and has for the last 10 years. She loves it, but we've worn it out. Well, mechanically anyways. The interior is in almost new shape.

My mother pretty much has driven hers to the edge. It's got 105K miles on it. The problems its started having are really just giong to keep adding up and not worth the money to fix some of them. So, she's searching for a new car to keep for at least 10 years.

105K - still a baby! :lmao: I pushed both of my last two vans over 200K and this one's getting close. But I think we've just been lucky. The other two were Ford Aerostars. I've heard with the Dodge Caravans you're either lucky - like we feel we've been - or once they hit 100K everything starts going wrong - which sounds like your mom's. I agree that it's not worth sinking big bucks into to fix everything. Good luck!

I have got a splitting headache - already hit the Tylenol PM! :sad2:
And DH has decided to spend some quality time with Andrew and Matthew...teaching the to shoot a rifle. We have 34 acres and where do they decide to do this????? About 20 feet from my kitchen window!!!!
then you need to practice your aim and throw stuff out the window
hope you feel better kathy!
So glad to hear he's back to normal. Sorry you had to make such a big $$$ investment. Just like kids though. We think they're so sick, miss work to take them to the docs, then the next day they're perfectly fine! But then we're just happy that they're okay. Dogs (or the furry humans) are just like that... and a part of the family, too!
thanks Tracy and Kathy...

The girl that cuts my hair will be going on her maternity leave in about two or three weeks and then be out for another two to four weeks so I figured I better get it taken care of now instead of waiting.
Then DH and I are going over to TN to get the plastic sheeting for his greenhouse. Maybe soon it'll be a reality!
And I think I have him talked into going out to lunch! ;)

Stopping by for a quick LAST between getting my hair cut and heading over to TN.
While I was in town I stopped by Walmart to pick up a prescription and checked to see if they had gotten in any Wii's! THEY DID! :yay: So I got Matthew's birthday gift! His birthday isn't until the 29th. My baby will be a teenager. He said that he really wanted a Wii but he knew that was too expensive for us to get him for a birthday gift so he asked if we would go half with him. I know he's not expecting one! He may expect us to tell him we'll go halves but I know he's not expecting to actually get one on his bd. I'm so excited about it! It's going to be so hard to keep it a secret for two weeks!

As slow as it is around here today I'll probably end up with a whole chorus line before someone gets here! :lmao:

I'm sad. I just watched the last Price is Right...
I loved that show...UUGGGHh!! I missed it!! I love that show! it has such good memories for me
Stopping by for a quick LAST between getting my hair cut and heading over to TN.
It's going to be so hard to keep it a secret for two weeks!WOW!! He's gonna be soooo happy!:goodvibes
happy fun friday everyone..

So, just got back from seeing Knocked Up. Well, I'll just say that I was dissapointed by it. In fact, very dissapointed.

Sorry it was disappointing Jake. :sad2:
From the previews I've seen that doesn't surprise me.

I thought'd it be good from the reviews I saw, but all it was was cursing, drug use, and nudity.
Some movies can tie all of those together and make a good movie, but this one really didn't. It was okay at best.

Good Morning!
I have to work today so I got up early to get everything organized for the boys to cook breakfast for DH for Father's Day. They've never cooked on their own like this but they really wanted to try. I expect a few calls at work this morning. ;)
DD is coming up this afternoon to have dinner with us. Hope that goes well.
Hope everyone has a nice day.
Good Ol Gal
