So go twice! April AND May. :thumbsup2

No dining plan this time - we are just going to wing it for the most part. Kona is always a must for us though so I need to make that ADR if nothing else then of course something fun for the birthday. Crystal Palace sounds fun - DS loves Pooh!

Yeah! I now have permission to go twice! :woohoo: What do you think DH will say? :scratchin

CP does sound sweet. I just love it there! CM is fun too, but if he likes Pooh go with CP! ::yes::

What about Hollywood and Vine? I've never eaten there, but I think it was DMM that said her kids loved it...

New Goal: 2000 by MAY!

Having goals is a very positive thing!

Happy Belated Anniversary Mayers!:grouphug:

The weather is driving me crazy...freezing one day and melting the next. Know wonder no one can shake the cough and colds this year.

Hey Seacrest how is that Cali weather...any thing good coming our way.
Now that christmas is through... I will admit that this former Winter loving girl, would like to get back outside into some warmer weather.

Hi Lake! Are your colds still hanging on?

My DS went back to school today from having the flu. I imagine he will have a mental meltdown :crazy2: when he comes home today due to the stacks of home work he will have!

:mic: Good News! No one else in the NewCrew family has shown signs of the flu! :woohoo:

NC: No lunch plans yet...only 10:25...but I am thinking about it now that you mentioned it.

Shelly: I will keep my eyes out for those fanny packs and take some pictures for you too.

Lake: It was suppose to rain yesterday and the rest of this week, but it seems to have broken up. There are still some dark clouds in the sky, but right now it is sunny here. Hopefully, we are finished with all this rain now. Did you see the video of the rain when we drove down to DL? OMG, I was almost ready to turn around and head back home, but my wife said keep on going.

Jo: We should make plans for the Blue Bayou as you know your DL dates. It will be very busy that holiday weekend.

You better get those ADR's made!! Are you doing the dining plan?

For your son's birthday I would suggest breakfast at Crystal Palace! pooh: :tigger: :eeyore: We did this for my son's 4th birthday in 2005. It was awesome! :goodvibes Our waitress sang to him, we got extra attention from the characters, he got a cupcake with a candle, and our table was sprinkled with pixie dust (mickey confetti!) ! pixiedust: It was very magical!
That sounds cute.....

I think P&PP is going to be on the 13th (Tues). Our Chef Mickey's is on the 14th(Wed).

We are planning on being in MK on Wed 14th around noon to closing. That way we can walk over to Chef Mickey's and back.

WOW! Busy thread today!!! So I'm finished with training and officially allowed to work by myself at the ride now! And the M:S pants are starting to grow on me...I've been home for an hour and still not changed out of them :)

Hi all-

What can any of you tell me about the Contemporary...?????? :sad2:

Looking at that resort now. I/*we* can't seem to make up our minds as to the resort! just when we think we are going to do one thing, we change our minds!

Hope all is well with you all.
I'm still struggling with the new med, so I am not doing as great as I'd like, but hopefully it will wear off soon and I will get used to it.

Not long now MAYers...

Trip is just me and the 3 kids (DH will be gone on a 3 month Army training trip - boo hoo) flying down to meet up with the kids fabulous Godmother Aunt Liz.

I see my fellow Carolina girl on this thread! Howdy Jo! :yay:

Yep, checked Disney shopping and every place else I can think of. Maybe they don't make such a thing. . . :confused3

I'm pretty sure I've seen some here too....I'll keep an eye out next time I'm near a gift shop :)...If WDW or DL have them, you should be able to order them directly through the Merchandise department and they'll ship them to you.

Did they make it offical about the P & PP.... i want to go to that but when i was on the dis website they did not have those dates yet....

I thought that disney.com had those dates listed for P&PP....I really really really want to go!

Thanks! Good to be here (a year late)...

I started as a CM in 1987 in Future World Ops and worked Imag, Seas and MoHo (Motion/Horizons - now Test Track/Mission: Space). Some of the CMs I worked with are STILL there - we probably know some of the same people.

Future World in the morning before the guests arrive is one of my favorite places on the planet. Enjoy your time there!

:rotfl: :lmao: Actually, they remind me of track pants, those crinkley ones.

I am feeling better now....Unfortunately, everyone who hasn't been sick the past few days is sick now, so I've passed it on....I had it first out of everyone in a four apartment radius and probably 3/4 of everyone who lives in my area is now sick or recovering from sick.

I think Lake went there too! Hollywood and Vine that is!

I think we rode the bus together when you were on your way to that breakfast.

yep we had breakfast there the morning we first met.
the characters were great, and the breakfast selections were abundant, we found this buffet tastier than the princess breakfast at the norway pavillion.
but those are the only two breakfasts we did.

it's a pretty casual place with tables and booths i think.

My DS went back to school today from having the flu. I imagine he will have a mental meltdown :crazy2: when he comes home today due to the stacks of home work he will have!

:mic: Good News! No one else in the NewCrew family has shown signs of the flu! :woohoo:

DD still has hers hanging in there, yesterday was bad.
Her sinuses were so bad, that her eyes wouldnt stop tearing all day, it was like she was continuously crying, and her eyes were so red.

i wanted to cry for her.

and today she is almost back to her happy three year old self. its amazing how they can bounce back.

guess what my DH said last night.... we were talking about me purchasing a new car... it's about that time... so we were looking online :surfweb: at different cars that i liked... i finally decided i want an Audi A3 wagon... so it's about 33K.. so i told DH that maybe the payments will be too much so can you beleive that he said "let's not go on vacation :scared1: and use that for down payment along with what we already have.. I wanted to strangle him... you see i'm the real dis fanatic he is ok with where ever we go.... i told him i don't need a car until after summer.... but he said let's think about it that way you have your car sooner....:headache:  ... so today i'll call him later and tell him it's too late to cancel even if we wanted to...:rolleyes1

What do you guys think????

I mean i know that putting that towards a car would be the more "responsible adult" thing to do.... but i feel like being a kid right now.... i mean my car runs fine now.... it's just a 97 civic so it's time for a new one...it will last me until end of summer....

huggiebear23
01-30-2008, 10:08 AM
Mari- I would tell him it is too late to cancel. I know what you mean about a new car. I need one too but I want to wait until next year to buy one. I figure as soon as I get preggo then we will have to buy one. Dh is silly how could he think that you guys wouldnt go to Disney. :rotfl2:

I hate when it's time to buy a new car. Vehicles are the biggest rip-off ever!! They lose their value as soon as you drive them off the lot! I used to always like to have a nice newer vehicle, but then decided that I really like to vacation better!! :lmao: :goodvibes I now drive a 1999 Blazer and it is just fine and gets me where I need to go! We take care of it and it looks like new. Sure, I'd love to have a brand new Trailblazer with a third-row seat, but I don't want that payment that would come along with it!!

I already called DH and told him it's too late to cancel.... he doesn't really knwo how much i have paid towards the vacation... plus my DD really want to go see Mickey Mouse... she is starting to realize now she asks to go to mickey mouse store (disney store) and she wants to see "lilerella" (cinderella) what kind of mom will i be if i stop her from seeing them...

I haven't ridden it yet...I may or may not ride it during my time here....The motion of the mild version doesn't scare me nearly as much as just how small the space is. When I got to see the whole movie without the ride in motion, I just stood in one of the capsules, without it closing down and that was almost a little to much for close quarters.

Mari I think your ADR is earliest maybe, is it 5:20? Mine is 5:30. You will have our names anyway because of the photopass share.

There would be ~ Mari-3, Shelly-4, Huggie-4, so there's 11, and if Sulley comes that would be 12!

Hi everyone!

Lunch time here! Once again, I am eating food!

It was so windy here yesterday. Yesterday morning when I went to workout it was 61 degrees. This morning it was 21 degrees!

Our basketball goal was blown over yesterday. I think it is broken but dh will have to inspect it this weekend. (He doesn't get home until after dark each night.) On the news they reported that the wind was gusting up to 61 MPH. There were some trees blown down and others had roof damage. It was crazy and the sun was shining the whole time.

Dd has come home from school today. She has a headache. I just hope she is not coming down with the flu.

I agree, if you can put it off invest in memories with your family. Your children grow up too quickly.

Sulley - What do you do at Mission Space? I need a mental picture. Are we allowed to ask or is it secret disney magic stuff?

When you go thru the que can't you see CM's inside what looks like a "Control Room." What are they doing?

Are there any good games or exhibits to do at the ride exit? I have never taken time to check those out.

I'm pretty excited about our WCC MAYer meet!! :snooty:

Do you think we should all try to sit together??? :grouphug:

Hope you are off and can join us Sulley!

What day is this on again? I'll definitely try to request it off so I can meet up with the MAYers!

I'm not sure. . . Maybe whoever gets there first could give the names of all of us and ask if we could possibly sit together or at least at tables next to each other. . . Mari I think your ADR is earliest maybe, is it 5:20? Mine is 5:30. You will have our names anyway because of the photopass share.

There would be ~ Mari-3, Shelly-4, Huggie-4, so there's 11, and if Sulley comes that would be 12!

What about trying to make an ADR for a party of 12 (or whatever) so that we're guaranteed to sit together?

I can do every position in M:S except the control room (for now...haven't been trained on it yet)...They are actually running the ride, it is a true control room. I haven't checked those out either (they're actually run by Innoventions)

I keep putting off buying dining room furniture because I would rather travel with our children than have furniture in the dining room. Right now we have a foos ball table in there!

I'm 27 going on 28 in March and my parents just bought GORGEOUS i mean STUNNING dining room furniture about 3 years ago that I'm sure they could not have afforded back in the day anyways. But they always put it off so we could do more and more together and then when I went off to college, they started looking, but I wanted to study in Amsterdam...so they sent me instead..it was always something else and that dining room was a playroom.

I remember playing in there as a kid and loving all the space, I remember all the trips we took together and all the fun I had in Europe (I eneded up going 3 times!!) and having so much. I remember that more than I would have ever remembered a dining room table.

The best part is? They have a set that is amazing and was well worth waiting for.

Reading that brought tears to my eyes! That was so touching!

Sometimes I wonder if we are doing that right thing but reading your post makes me feel so much like we are.

Of course the dining room furniture I would love to have is major $$$! So I will wait about 10 to 12 years until the kids are out of college and don't want to be around us anymore. Then I 'll buy the $$$ dining room furniture so I can have them (the kids) home for big holiday feasts! :lovestruc

hahah yup that 80s weather is what bugs me, it's really the humidity and the fact that I was enormously pregnant didn't help at all! hahaha!

Hey~
Sorry i've been MIA- lots going on.

I'll try to help as much as possible...
NC.
Give your baby the Tamiflu, make sure she eats something and give her a dose of Tylenol for the headache. 99.4 is not high at all for a fever and usually you would see an immediate spike really high with chills, body aches, etc if its the flu. Hits you hard and fast. She should be covered with the Tamiflu for a bit.

Keep a watch on her tonight. If the fever is gonna spike it will be tonight. Any chest congestion? You get that too with the flu.
If tomorrow she isn't any better, take her in to the Ped and make them run a flu test.

I hope she is feeling better soon.
Let me know if you need anything else...

I wasn't PG and I was hot, but I didn't mind one bit. I thought it was more crowded than the last week of October/first week of November. The weather then was perfect for me.:cutie:

Mari- I say, there will always be the car later on.

However, I Love, love, love Audi's!!!

We looked into getting one whe we were looking for a car for me ( we ended up with an Acura MDX) but the main reason we went with an Acura was because the Volvo and Audi dealerships were in Tulsa- an hour and a half from our house in Arkansas. And look- we aren't even there anymore, so it doesn't even matter!:rotfl:

Your baby is growing up so fast, and the look on her face when you walk up to the Princesses will last longer than any car will.

Just so you know, I don't know if the Audi's do, but my Acura takes Premium gas only. It cost $60 to fill it up yesterday. ugh. Just something to consider.

Thanks Jo.

I called the peds' office this afternoon. They said she may have a "touch" of the flu, but since she has taken the taken the Tamiflu, it should be a light case. They don't even want to test her as there is nothing else to do for her at this point but give her Tylenol or Motrin and Delsym if she starts to cough or Benadryl or Claritin if she gets a sniffle. We finished our last dose of the Tamiflu tonight.

Even taking the Motrin she is still complaining of a headache, and she is not a complainer. So that makes me think something is going on.

The flu is really wide spread down here right now. One of Chris's teachers told him not to worry about doing make-up work in her class as too many have been absent.

Hey Ladies... this sounds like a great idea.. good for you.
I know it wont change the plan... but I wanted to make you aware so that there were no surprises.

When we had dinner at Chegf Mickey's last May with our entire group of 9, we were automatically charged a gratuity since we were a group larger than 8. I think it was something like 18%. And it was not covered in our DDP.

I so wish I could join you guys..:(

Jo - I would love to go to CHS for July 4th since that is my Mom's 83rd birthday. Her parents used to tell her that the whole country celebrated her birthday with fireworks each year. (Oh, for the record, you can not shoot off fireworks on the beach at IOP.... don't ask me how I know... :rolleyes1 ).

Awwwwwww I know where every single photo was taken!

Charleston is a gorgeous town - that's for sure. I miss the weather, my parents, my doctors and friends but I sure don't miss getting stuck behind the horse carriages when trying to drive downtown. :lmao:

ETA: The 3rd photo down (the one taken from high battery) was taken right by where we had to park when I went to high school and walk down Water Street to the school on Meeting Street. Ah, memories...

The flu is running amuck here as well. Mary Cat says that a lot of her friends at school have been out.
Darn winter...:headache:

Jo

Today so far, she has felt great. I think I may escape it. I have been very tired and took a little evening nap the last two days which is just not like me at all. But other than that, I have been fine. Thanks for asking!

School was cancelled here too.

Actually when I got up at 6:30 the TV said 2 hour delay.(which means the bus will come at 9:20 instead of 7:20) Waited until 8:20 and checked again and it still said 2 hour delay. So I got the kids all ready and at 9:00 my neighbor called and said - did you see they just changed it to cancelled! :headache: Well that's nice. Gee....thanks for the warning school! :rotfl: I am surprised, usually they are a little better about things. :confused3

I still love these!

And wouldnt I love to be there now as well.

Jo - you'll love this but I am using some of my SC pictures to use as artwork for our new bedroom. I am changing them to sepia, cropping and blowning up particular architectural elements or iron work. So far they look good, I'll pick them up at the printer on Monday.

Our little romantic getaway, continues to inspire me.

It's a Snow day here too!
and the kids had no school yesterday either, as it was a Professional Development day for the teachers, so Ethan David only had three days of school this week.

I didn't bother taking Emmy to preschool either... if the buses and such were not running, then neither was this mom...just to be safe.

Hey all~

Soccer today.
Last week, Drew scored 7 goals, and I have to admit, I felt a tad embarrassed. No other kid has a chance when he's on the field. It's sad; he's just beyond the other kids and it's really not fair to them. I hate to ask him to tone it down a bit, but the coaches ended up pulling him for a lot of the game anyway to give the other kids a chance.

What to do, what to do.:guilty:

Belle, however has NOT inherited Mark's athletic ability, Bless her heart. Good thing her middle name is Grace...she's gonna' need it.

Hope everyone is doing good.

Sulley, have a great time with your parents!

Mari- Where are you going out to eat??? somewhere good!

Huggie~ Good thing you caught your mistake!!!!!! I hate it when I do stuff like that, and i am known for it. Sounds like something I would do.

Hi Ho!

We had dinner out last night. Mexican food. It was yummy. I had chicken fajita's but just ate the chicken, pepper, onions and tomato. My son had tennis after school and then we ran a few errands and met my dh at the restaurant. Then we came home and just had some R & R.

DH and I went to exercise this morning, then I did some housework. My kids are doing homework all weekend from being sick.

My son has been invited to a Super Bowl Party so he is trying to get his work done.

I think I may do a little shopping this afternoon.

Be game tomorrow.

Did you guys see Oprah this week with the story about Kevin Everett, the NFL player who severed his spine? The other guy involved in the hit, Dominique Hixon is playing in the game. Their story was so inspiring. I want to see the game just to see Hixon playing some.

Have a great weekend!

Hellllllllooooo, MAYers!:dance3:

Hope everyone is good.

Just got finished making guacamole and a dip for chips. Are you all ready for the SuperBowl??? I will be watching it in my PJ's. I'm ready for bed already!:rotfl:

Yesterday, after the soccer games (Drew only scored one goal- he had a cramp and sat out most of the game. Note to self- do not feed your kid pizza 20 minutes before the start of a game that entails running around. ) we went shopping for groceries, then went to Omaha steaks and bought out the store.
We had a coupon, so everything was soooo cheap.

So we put it into the back of Mark's truck and he said "wait, I have somewhere we need to go." and I was  . We were at these shops that are outdoor- theres a Chico's, White House Black Market, Jos. a. Bank, Ann Taylor, and some other places. so I thought maybe he wanted to go into one of the shops and get some clothes for work...

He takes me into this jewelry store, where, unknown to me...
he has been in there a couple of times, has a ring all picked out for me...and wants me to try it on to see how it fits. I am in awe.

It's for our tenth anniversary. It's a white gold band with a row of diamonds and I am awestruck. :cloud9: I think this time, I won't make him take it back like I did the last one, two years ago.:rolleyes1

So, it's being sized as we speak and my solitare is getting spiffed up so that the new ring will sparkle and shine all lovely next to it.

Shelly- we must be Diamond girls. ;) aren't we lucky to have a tenth anniversary and hubby's that care???

Anyway, just wanted to share my news with all of you.

Huggie- How's the little one feeling??? We want pics of the newly painted room. Don't be shy. gotta see it.:cool1:

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

Jo -how WONDERFUL that you have a thoughtful DH. Pix of the ring please!

Mari360 -Happy Birthday to your DBro! How was the party?

We didn't do much other than grocery shopping at Safeway which is ridiculously overpriced compared to the Commissary on post. :sad2: DS is soooo not a good shopper so we only made the 1 stop before heading home. I had to go out later in the evening to pick up DD9 from a friend's house and we headed to CVS for some bargain hunting and to use the printable coupons that expire tonight.

I think I am addicted to CVS. Is there a 12 step program??? :rolleyes1

Oh and the SuperBowl is on but we aren't really paying attention to it. DH looks up from his laptop every now and then to see the score. The TV is on mute because I am listening to some songs a friend of mine sent me that he wrote and recorded. The songs sound great! :thumbsup2

Good grief, it's always something, isn't it?????

Belle has the stomach flu. Woke up at 2 AM to a bed full of YUCK. She's on the couch, watching Franklin. My poor baby.

I'm fighting a migraine :headache:

CCF and Kait- thanks! As soon as I get the ring, I'll post some pics. I've been needing a wedding band for awhile, but it was always something we put off. (I had my solitare remounted into another setting 2 years ago, and wanted a different band, but never got one). So it was quite a surprise.

Kait- Did you go to SV schools? My kids are in that district.

How many more days, MAYers????

I still am not sure about the DL trip. We haven't made any ressies or anything.

MOrning all..... needless to say here in NJ it was an experience driving into work... i guess everybody in the tristate area are happy that the giants won last night... All I kept seeing was people with stickers or paint on their windows. One of my friends her boss told them on Friday that if the Giants win they can have Monday off (PAID). What a great Boss....

Mari - glad you had fun at the party.

CCF- I'm with you. I hate ironing, so I just don't do it. :rotfl: Dh does all of his own clothes, Mary Cat does hers, so I do mine and the other two. However, I hate washing and folding clothes. I have always said I would much rather scrub a toilet than fold a shirt. Crazy, I suppose.

Belle is feeling a bit better. She ate some dry toast and has held that down, thank goodness.

I guess I should get out of my pj's since it is almost 10 o'clock. I keep hoping I can go back to bed....

NC~ How's the NewCrews feeling??

Shelly~ Hey you. Lovely weather we're having. Another weekend closer to Disney!:cheer2:

Sulley~ Hope you're having a fun time with your 'rents.

CCF~ Sea ~ DMM ~ Lake~ Mella ( where are you????) and everyone else...
Hey there!!!!!

Jo

Congrats on the ring WOO HOO

NewCrew- I watched that Oprah. That was an amazing story. And I'm glad Hixon's team won.

Jo - How sweet of your hubby to get you a ring :lovestruc

CCF - We don't have a CVS around here :sad2: We are getting a Wal Greens soon though. Anybody shop there?

HuggieBear - When's your daughter's birthday? Mine's Wednesday :woohoo:

I'm excited that NY won the Super Bowl.

Isabelle's bday is tomorrow. Happy early bday to you

Hey everyone.... YAY NY GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!

everyone in my house in excited except for my Dbro... he's a patriots fan... and it was his Bday.... i felt so sorry for him... he even went to sleep b4 the game was over.....

Hey CCF... the party was great... it was small it was only for immediate family...

Sorry

Mornin!

Happy Monday, everyone. I'm off to clean up Belle.

Jo

PS- Is it my computer or are the boards s-l-o-w this morning???

Oh boy I hope she feels better

MOrning all..... needless to say here in NJ it was an experience driving into work... i guess everybody in the tristate area are happy that the giants won last night... All I kept seeing was people with stickers or paint on their windows. One of my friends her boss told them on Friday that if the Giants win they can have Monday off (PAID). What a great Boss....

Jo- Sorry to hear about Belle.... poor baby....Hope she feels better soon... wow my little one has had a runny nose and cough all weekend i'm crossing my fingers that she doesn't get sick.

Hope she doesnt get sick

:thumbsup2

I love CVS too

Mari- I hope your baby isn't getting sick! I saw on the news a map of where the flu outbreaks are and NJ, PA, NY and some other places had it bad. texas, I think was one of them.

I guess that's not gonna happen.

Please feel free to start another thread. Webmaster Alex has decided that it is the long threads that were slowing down the DIS. They are only allowing 250 page threads now. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
