Hi everyone. Just spent 6 hours in emergency dealing with another kidney stone attack. Fortunately, it has passed into the bladder and I should be ready to give birth soon. Morphine and Vicadin are here to help me through my upcoming labor.
Other than some soreness and nausea this has not been that bad.

I will let you all know when the new addition to our family has come!

OK, guys, listen up, this is REALLY IMPORTANT. And I'm not trying to freak anybody out, but this is stuff you need to know. Got everyone's attention now? Good...

Bed bugs are making a comeback, and they are getting more and more common in North America. We used to think they were eradicated in the US, but since we've stopped using DDT (since it's so harmful to the environment), the little monsters have been seen more and more. They have been found in apartment buildings, college dorms, and hotels -- not fleabag places, but upscale hotels, very busy, with lots of international travelers. It really has nothing to do with cleanliness, even a ritzy places can have them. If you think about it, that describes the WDW resorts pretty well. I don't know anything about specific reports, but they could be found pretty much anywhere.

TAKE PRECAUTIONS. When you first check in, don't just plunk your suitcases down on the bed -- if you are using ME, I'm assuming they'll put the cases on luggage racks or on the floor? Pull up the covers and sheets from around the bottom of the mattress and look carefully in the seams/welts on the edges of the mattresses, and pull the headboard out and look behind it (with a flashlight if you have one). The signs are pretty clear if you know what you are looking for:

If you see no signs, it's probably just fine, but it's better to take a quick look first, especially with the couple of reports of them being found at WDW -- which may or may not even be true. It's good to be careful at ANY hotel, ANYwhere. And YOU DO NOT WANT TO BRING THEM HOME. They will hitchhike in clothes and suitcases, and once you have them in your home they are very difficult and very expensive to get rid of.

Again, I'm really sorry :guilty: I do NOT want to upset anyone or scare anyone :eek: :scared1: You have to understand, I am absolutely terrified of bugs. But I just want to make sure anyone that travels knows about this stuff and is careful.

I always do this check in ANY hotel I stay in!! Always!!!

Morning everyone! (well it is here is Aussie land)......9 days to go!!!!! YAY .....unfortunately we have both (me and my twin) got a NASTY cold and cough....just been to the Drs and he thinks it will go within 9 days...heres hoping!!!!! We have taken a few days off work to try and rest up, so I think I might start to pack today:thumbsup2 Not looking forward to the 20 hour flight very much, but luckily we have been able to upgrade to Premium Economy (Air New Zealand) so hopefully it won't be too bad! Here is my list of what we are looking forward to:-

Concierge at Contemporary
Cali Grill dinner on Mon 14th
Meeting up with our 2 Aussie workmates who are coming over too on Tue 15th (Dinner at Chef Mickeys together...watch out for the Aussies!!!)
Keys to the Kingdom tour (Tue 15th am)
Having a Lapu Lapu ? at the poly bar
Wishes cruise to celebrate our Masters of Nursing degree (I booked it as a surprise for my twin sis)
Animal kingdom (did not go there on our first WDW trip in Nov 05)
Being brave enough this time to try splash and big thunder
Le Cellier dinner (sat 19th)
flower and garden festival
trying some yummy things at goofys candy co
frozen margaritas at epcot YUM!
Doing one of the water parks (blizzard beach I think) We didn't do them last time.

Things I'm not looking forward to
20 hr flight with 4 connections and a 6 hr stop over in San Fran:scared1:
Leaving my fur baby behind (although she will be with her grandparents.....I know she will be fine, but I will miss her:love: ...she has just narrowly escaped euthanasia......she was very ill 6 weeks ago and the vet thought she had a liver tumor. She had to have a laparotomy and they were going to euthanaise her if they found anything bad......luckily it was found to be chronic cholangitis (bile duct/gall bladder inflammation) so she is wonderful now she is on some meds to make her well......I am just a over protective/worried fur baby mummy... I am sure Mickey mouse will send her a post card back home:laughing: !!!!

I was wondering today if Isabella will be scared of any of the rides now. She wasnt at all last time ( at 18m ) but now even slightly scary cartoon scenes upset her.

Hi everyone. Just spent 6 hours in emergency dealing with another kidney stone attack. Fortunately, it has passed into the bladder and I should be ready to give birth soon. Morphine and Vicadin are here to help me through my upcoming labor.
Other than some soreness and nausea this has not been that bad.

I will let you all know when the new addition to our family has come!

Aw Seacrest! :sad1: As you well know, my DH just went through this, too. I am so sorry, because I know this is just miserable! Pixiedust pixiedust: and prayers that you recover very quickly!!!

Have any of you ever used the dreaded "toddler leash" for your dc?
I was always one of those moms who said I never would, but.....Isabella runs away. ALOT. And hides. And it scares the heck out of me and I don't know if she is going to want to stay in her stroller at wdw like she did last time.
So if you have used them before - what did you think? Did your dc seem to mind it? Did you get any dirty looks / comments?

Hon, just do what you think is best for your little one to keep her safe and sound and don't worry about anyone else. I broke down and bought one for my oldest when he was 2 1/2. We were at Marine World, and I had to stop to nurse his infant brother, when Erik decided to climb out of his stroller and throw himself head first into the rows below us (we were in bleachers, waiting for the killer whale show, I think). Don't know what he thought he was doing, crowd surfing maybe? :eek: :laughing: Thank goodness some quick thinking people below us caught him and kept us from having to rush him to the hospital! :scared1: So that was it, I went out and bought a little yellow vest thing that had a mama duck and baby ducks on it, and the words "Stay Close", and yeah, it had a little leash thing that attached to the back of it. We only used it as a precaution when we were at big overwhelming places (didn't know when he was so little that he had ADHD, didn't even know what it was!) that would encourage him to run or wander if we looked away for a moment -- not like we used it to take him on daily walks :lmao: And you watch your little ones the best you can, but the more you have, the more spread out your attention is -- and unfortunately, moms only have two eyes (not counting the extra set in the backs of our heads :laughing:) So, you do what's best for your child, and don't worry about what anyone else says. :hug: BTW, my sons are now 23 (in the Air Force, guess the leash didn't traumatize him too bad), 21 (working full time, part time college at night, has an adorable girlfriend :teeth:), and 16 (makes me crazy over getting him to do his homework, but he's smart, and funny, and kind, and one of the most accepting and non-judgemental people I've ever had the privilege to know).

I have used the leashes before on a few occasions for DS. In big places like NYC when Belle was a newborn and we were there for the Thanksgiving Day parade with thousands of other people. I have taken them to WDW before and used them on Belle when she wanted to get out to walk.

Honestly, they both loved it. It made them feel like they had some freedom from Mom...they are so used to having to hold hands with an adult all the time. Belle actually asked for it once.:)

As for people giving you looks or comments, may be my personality the Wicked Queen coming out, but I love to enlighten those that dare to look sideways at me. When they carry a child for 9 months , go through 8 hours of labor with it only to bring it home and have to raise it for many years, wiping their noses and their butts, THEN, THEY can do whatever they want to with THEIR child. It's no one's business what you do. At least you care enough to keep them safe.:)

I have seen so many parents not paying one bit of attention to their children while we're there, and it scares me to death.

So, yes, please use them. You will actually have many people say that they wished they had brought one for their child because they are driving them crazy, trying to keep up with them.

Hey all,

I just cleaned up the house so when my mom comes over to watch the girls tonight. She doesnt feel the need to clean my house. Does anyone elses mom do that? LOL

Dh is home today and is mowing the lawn and then I am off to get my nails done and later straighten my hair(which takes about and hour). UGH

I will try to remember to take a pic of my and dh all dolled up for tonight. I told him we should skip the function tonight and go see spiderman3. He wants to see it so bad but I dont know when we will be able to see it.

I haven't packed yet. I did drag out my luggage yesterday though and I have most of the stuff we are taking stashed in bags in my closet. Does that count?
Actually, I am going to try to start today. Usually the night before a trip I am running around like a madwomen trying to get everything done and this year I would like to have a stress-free start to our vacation.


That's usually me too! I don't want to run around the night before like a chicken with my head cut off. I always do that and I am always exhausted on the first day of our trip because of it! Gotta start packing. . .just gotta start! Maybe if I put my tiara on, I'll magically be inspired to pack! Get me in that Disney mood! :rotfl2: :teeth:

We are actually leaving tomorrow for FL. We're going on "BABY TOUR 2007" and are driving down to visit DH's grandparents first then down to Miami to see my mom and bro then we hit WDW next Friday when we meet up with DH's parents. I am so not ready to leave yet! I have separated my clothes to pack but DH has not (I'll pack but I won't pick stuff for him to wear) and I am doing the last load of baby laundry since I'll have to take most of his clothes for an 11 day trip. Luckily the baby is sleeping for a little while right now.
Also still need to just get the house ready for us leaving since I *HATE* coming back to a dirty house. I'm not even making dinner tonight. I think I'll pick up some chicken or something from popeyes! Our fridge is bare! We don't even have anything to drink besides 1/2 a bottle of grape juice and some water! LOL 1st thing when we come back is a visit to the grocery store.

ETA- a quick comment on the "seeing eye child" (what I call kids on leashes). I am all for them. It's too easy for an adult to get so excited while at WDW (just look at all the comments about people stopping in the middle of a path because they see the castle or a character) imagine what it's like for the little kid (who can run way faster than an adult when they want to). Don't worry about the people who may give you odd/bad looks. They should be minding their own vacations and get the heck out of yours ;)

I've been buying new things for our trip for a while now and have been stashing the bags in my closet. I pulled them all out and found some birthday gifts I never gave my dd! DOH!
I was going to give them to her but she is going to get alot at Disney so I am going to save them for the billion kids partys we go to all summer.

I'm not sure if i have mentioned this before, but this is how i make writing post cards SUPER EASY!

I take my pre-printed address labels for the return address
THEN i also take pre-printed address lables of all the people i am sending them to! That way i don't have to write them all out! I just STICK , STICK and send! I also buy the postcard stamps at the post office, keep it all in a plastic envelope from TARGET (.50) and Throw it in the bag we take to the parks! SUPER EASY!!

I have used the leashes before on a few occasions for DS. In big places like NYC when Belle was a newborn and we were there for the Thanksgiving Day parade with thousands of other people. I have taken them to WDW before and used them on Belle when she wanted to get out to walk.

Honestly, they both loved it. It made them feel like they had some freedom from Mom...they are so used to having to hold hands with an adult all the time. Belle actually asked for it once.:)

As for people giving you looks or comments, may be my personality the Wicked Queen coming out, but I love to enlighten those that dare to look sideways at me. When they carry a child for 9 months , go through 8 hours of labor with it only to bring it home and have to raise it for many years, wiping their noses and their butts, THEN, THEY can do whatever they want to with THEIR child. It's no one's business what you do. At least you care enough to keep them safe.:)

I have seen so many parents not paying one bit of attention to their children while we're there, and it scares me to death.

So, yes, please use them. You will actually have many people say that they wished they had brought one for their child because they are driving them crazy, trying to keep up with them.

I think I'll pick up some chicken or something from popeyes! Our fridge is bare! We don't even have anything to drink besides 1/2 a bottle of grape juice and some water! LOL 1st thing when we come back is a visit to the grocery store.

Yep, we went to Costco tonight, and I kept saying...we don't want to buy that, we'll be gone in a week!

ETA- a quick comment on the "seeing eye child" (what I call kids on leashes). I am all for them.

1. They can't read signs.

Good morning!!! This time next week we should be almost to the train station in Fla. I had last night off and I tossed and turned all night, thinking of my list and things to do still this week.

I can't belive this is our last weekend before we go. We have been talking about going to Disney since our last trip in 93 when we were there for our honeymoon. Now we have 2 great kids to go with us. :love:

DD and I got our haircut and are looking very summery(wonder if that is even a word). Today is going to fly by, DD has dance then we are all going to a birthday party at 3:00pm until late. The people having the party like to party late.:hippie:

Busy day yesterday. Work, ds had a Scavenger Hunt field trip and didn't need to be at school until 8:30, so two trips for school drop off. Dd had a haircut, birthday party sleepover. We had to get a gift and a card.

Most importantly, dh, ds, and I went to Spiderman 3. Here we are at the movie: popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: It was a cool movie. I had not seen the other 2 movies. DS has seen them so he was splainin' it to me as the movie went along. The creator of Spiderman was in the movie. I recognized him because he was on Identity. :magnify:

I can't believe Sulley is in the world! She has returned to the muddaland!

Huggie how was the big party? Did you go to the midnight show of superman? Did you sneak it in and lie to the sitter saying that the party just ran really late?

Busy day today, pick up dd at sleepover, hope that she slept. She has recital this afternoon. Then I become make-up artist like Jo as well as a hairdresser and Dippity do her bun. Yada Yada. I will have to kick the boys and make them behave. Dance recital is not their favorite activity. I make them put on their happy pants and act like they like it. We girls sit thru lots of sports for them. The guys really are good sports sorta. They are also required to buy flowers and present them to the dance princess. princess:

I need to tan, exercise and maybe shop. Do you think there is time for all of that? :sad2: ::yes:: :confused3
