Congratulations everyone on 13,000 posts! I'd like to think I've contributed.;)
Terri-
I'm Melanie, I'm cruising with DH Chris, and DS's Alex (4) and Jackson (17 months). I'm the one who will be chasing a toddler all over the ship.:rotfl:
I live in Iowa and work in Omaha. Here's my website if you really want to know more than that:lmao: http://mruhaak-ivil.tripod.com/
This is our first 7 day cruise and our second on Disney. But the last was just only a 3 day, I was pregnant and we were crusing with our toddler, my mother and DH's 85 yo grandmother ...:sad2:... it was challenging...

Jaime-
We actually are leaving our house on the evening of the 22nd to drive to Kansas City since we are flying out of there. We decided to stay overnight so that we could wear Jackson out in the morning rather than him sleeping all the way to KC and being WIDE AWAKE for the flight.:scared1:
We arrive in Orlando at around 4 p.m. on the 23rd. We are being driven to the port and then we are staying that night at the Radisson. We fly home the day we get off the ship.. so no parks for us.
The reason is we were originally going to do a 4 day cruise (the same one as you) and then the parks, but expanded that to a 7 day cruise. So we are just cruising no parks. We didn't want to do parks with a toddler and just wanted to be doing "one thing" (the cruise) rather than mixing it up. Thought that would be easier with Jackson so young.
So are we they only ones planning on using the Radisson shuttle?

Ok I have a question....When is everyone leaving to go on vacation and where are you staying? Is everyone going home after the cruise or is anyone planning to go to WDW?
We are leaving on Nov 23 and we are staying at the Wingate Orlando International Airport Hotel...then we are going to WDW until Thursday...
We will be in Orlando on the 22nd staying at Pop Century (DH loves the food court there). We are spending Thanksgiving with our Uncle in Tampa, Friday will be at Animal Kingdom and possibly MGM followed by an amazing Fireworks Cruise (:woohoo: with Robin and Judy:woohoo: ). When we disembark, we will head to Epcot for a few hours since our flight doesn't leave until 7:30pm.

OK, first for the QOTD: Don't let da Mutt fool you. He has a framed picture of Dave Grohl on his nightstand that he kisses everynight before he goes to bed and every morning when he wakes up. His car is "All Foo, All the Time!" :rotfl2:
As for me, good rock will always work, lots of eras. Love Alice in Chains, Puddle of Mudd, Def Leppard, but also Jimmy Buffet and Andrea Boccelli ... so figure that out, whydontcha?
TOMORROW, I promise, come hell or high water, I will get my laptop back and get an updated cruisemate list out! I haven't heard anything from IT saying that they had a funeral for it, so I'm going to assume that no news is good news :rolleyes1
Love to you all ... home around 11pm.

Brantley,
this ones for you :lmao: :lmao:
A butcher saw a Lawyer passing by his shop one day, and asked him: Atty., what would you do if a dog came in and stole your meat?
Lawyer replied: why? of course, I’ll make the owner pay for it!
The butcher said: If that is so, now you owe me $15 because it is your dog.
The Lawyer replied: very well, just deduct the $15 from the $25 you owe me for the advice, I’ll collect the remaining $10 the next time I pass by here.

Well, I posted at 7:45 a.m. this morning. Did you see my post? Oh, that's right THE INTERNET WENT DOWN WHILE I WAS WRITING IT!
I must have spent 15-20 minutes answering everyone's questions, question of the day and grrrrr.
Jaime, We will be at All-Star Music for 2 nights and going to all 4 parks and Downtown Disney. Staying at the Radisson on Friday night. We will be heading back right after the cruise. I wanted to stay a couple more days but Skylar doesn't want to miss anymore school. I think that he has his priorities mixed up! :sad2:
:bday: Rick! Hope you have a fine day!
MaryEllen, I have a fish extender.
Question of the Day: During the 60s (yes the 60s), the Beatles were what I remember. I remember my sister played Chubby Checker all the time. The 70s were The Carpenters and Chicago. I still have all the original records!
I disappeared in the 80s with 3 kids under 6. I really don't listen to much as I've said before but Martina McBride and Reba were my favorites for a while. Now I own a selection of music from the park which I listen to.
Check in later. Tonight's Survivor! Dawn

Question of the day:
I love 60's and 70's music,
I am stuck in the OLD days of rock in roll:lmao:
Beatles, Hermans Hermits, Rod Stewart, gary Lewis and the Playboys, Dion and the Belmonts, Eagles, Credience, Bob Seiger, and all the other great bands of that era.

What is your favorite genre of music?? He didn't tell me his so I don't know what he will say....
Somehow.. I missed this the first time through... I have cruise-on-the-brain.
BUT... I don't have a good answer. Because I like so many different kinds of music. It really depends on my mood. I like 70's/80's, I like hard rock, I like country, I like music from musicals and even the Phantum of the Opera..., I even like really oldies like Frank Sinatra.
I usually don't like rap or hip/hop, it makes me irritable.

That was me that mentioned KC. We are flying out of there. Obviously Omaha is closer (just across the river)... but we were able to get nonstop flights and a really good deal out of KC.

You bet. I'm thinking around 5 to 6 p.m. I will need to throw in a load or two wash while I'm there. That pool will definitely be calling the boys!

Stitch and Kelly Clarkson!!! What cute names! Which one is which?
Stitch is the Dark Brown and White one...he is going to be 4. Kelly Clarkson (yes she does answer to that name but we call her KC most of the time) just turned 1 in September. She replaced Pompom who passed away last year:sad1: . She was our first dog that we had before we got married :sad2: we miss her a lot. KC looks just like her, it's a little freakie sometimes.

What Is A Fish Extender?

Hi, it's hard to explain, but there is a silver fish on the wall outside your door that people can clip a note to, a fish extender is a home made holder that you hang from that fish to receive things in.
usually there is a short dowell rod across the top and then hanging down is a strip of cloth with 2 or 3 pockets sewn on to it for stuffing with notes or gifts for the people in that cabin.
They decorate them all ways, some put Disney characters on each pocket or bright colorful cloth used to make it or put their names on it, just however you want to decorate it. They are usually about 18 to 24 inches , although I have seen them a lot bigger.(longera) 6 to 8 inchs across.
On the main forum there is a thread that has lots of photos of them, you might try to see one there,
Kathy

The laundry is within site of the pool, so they can swim while you wash and you can still see where they are. I will be watching for you near the pool or laundry area around that time.

Me too!!!!!!!! Especially since SW flies direct and the flights are so cheap - offsets the cost of liquor.
My mom has started packing, and all I've done is start stacking summer clothes in the corner of my closet. I haven't even started packing for Lily, and I'm wondering if I'll end up having to pack for Devin. I did get him to try on his suit, swimsuit, etc. to make sure they still fit so we'd have time to replace anything prior to leaving. I feel very far behind.
I didn't think I'd have to color my hair again before the cruise, but I think I tempted fate yesterday when I asked my friend Kerrie look at my head to see if I had any roots...she said no, but then this morning I'm positive I saw a gray hair. Major trauma. So had to call my hair stylist and make sure they had time to fit that in. Oh well.

Ok, since Bill got me to come out of the closet about being a lawyer, and Kathy has posted the first lawyer joke, I will give you a little story that will help you understand the daily workings we go through.
Tonya, if you work in a lawyer’s office, you will appreciate this.
WARNING: References to drug use ahead. If that offends you, skip to the next post. ;)
This woman comes into my office to discuss a recent possession of marijuana charge she has acquired. During our meeting, she swears up and down that it was not her marijuana. She has no idea of why the officer would have charged her. In fact when she was charged, she was with her friend and her friend told the officer that the marijuana belonged to her, not my client. She just can not understand why she was charged. I tell her I will look into it and I will see her on her next court date.
When her court date rolls around, I go in the back and pull the officer out into the hallway. I ask him if he remembers this woman and if he could tell me what happened.
Well, it seems that this woman and a group of her friends (all of whom must be employed by NASA as rocket scientists) decided it would be a good idea to get high at one of the local boat accesses on Lake Norman. They all got together, right out in the open and fired it up!!!:hippie: (Free legal advice of the day: If for some reason, you decide it is a good idea to get stoned in the middle of a public parking lot......look around........make sure the cops are not there) The officer, who actually was a wildlife officer, sat in his car, watched them pass it around, and then walked over to retrieve what was left. He then charged everyone in the group.
After learning the above information, I go into the courtroom and pull my client outside where the following conversation actually took place:
ME: Hey, listen, I was talking with the officer and he says that you were with a group of people who he watched smoking a joint in the parking lot.
CLIENT: Says nothing, just stares at me like a deer caught in headlights....you can almost hear the crickets in the background.
ME: Is that true?
CLIENT: UMMMMM..........Well, yea........Why??????? Is that a problem?
ME: Well, if you held the joint and you put it up to your lips and you toked on it and you passed it to the next person.....I think you have exercised enough control over it to legally possess it.
CLIENT: ooooohhhhhhh
That is a true story!!!!! It is also why I will always have a job:lmao:

Question-
I got online today and filled out all the check-in forms and printed them out. We received our cruise docs on Friday. Do I still need to fill out all the stuff in there (other than the Bahama forms which I know I DO need to fill out) when is basically the same stuff they had me fill out online?
Does anyone know?

If you fill it out on line then you dont need to fill out the docs in your book, just the Bahamas forms. Just print off and signthem and bring with you when you check in.

Terri, I'm Cheri; my DH Bill and DD Jessalyn are going on our third DCL cruise. We're from northern IL, about an hour northwest of Chicago, near a little town called Rockford.
We used to be teachers, but now we work in insurance -- he's an agent and I'm a licensed assistant. Like teaching, it's a constant battle -- but it has some rewards, too.
If the Nana Nation would start going to Vegas every year, I can guarantee the PGThree (or maybe two) would be there every year!!!!!
DH is already talking about his next trip (which is with a few agents) and thinking I won't be going along.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Is it because Jess got sooooo sick last year when we were gone, or because he didn't get enough "time with the guys?" We are chilly again today. 47 degrees this morning, high about 72.
No big plans this weekend, just trying to budget in enough money to fill up the gas tank in my car:lmao:
we may go and see American Gangster. Anyone seen it yet?? No details please, just tell me if you liked it or not.
Puppies are sleeping right now, so it is just me and the computer, very quiet.
We have started leaving Pixie's crate(where she sleeps) unlocked at night so she can learn to go outside at night if needed or if we ever have a prowler she can go to investigate it, like Minnie does.
Until now we couldnt trust her to be on her own around the house while we slept. 2 nights ago she discovered it was open and she bolted out and jumped on the bed about 4:30 a.m. to wake us up!!:scared:
Theres nothing like a 66 pound dog pouncing on you to get you up and moving in the morning:rotfl2:
I heard her testing the door about 3 a.m. this morning, so I jumped up just as she opened it and started out. I had to push her back in and lock the door to keep her in. she wanted to get up and play with us:eek:
I can see it will be a long few weeks to train her to stay in there when she wakes up early.:rolleyes1

37 degrees and mostly cloudy - YUCK! Counting the days till we leave:cheer2:
Cheri - I also watched the CSI/WOT combo - and wasnot impressed. Did you like it? I should have watched GA:mad:
Judy - How do you pack your precious cargo:) ? I also want to pick up something to pack. Margs were my fave but I moved onto Cosmos and then moved onto Mojitos. Trying to pick something that is easy and can be mixed onboard. what juices are at the drink station? Our biggest bill last time was dh's bar bills, I think he had his own pub crawl:rotfl:
Weekend plans - work and ????not sure yet
Will check back later - All have a great friday!

Has everyone sent Shell all their info before she sends out the next list??
Please get that done today if you can, that will make it a complete list for us and easier for Shell , rather than having to keep adding little things and resending it agan and again, unless we get another new family.

Where did you order from? That is terrific! Good for you - I would love to get some new things before we cruise . . .
Hmmmmmmmmm.......to tell or not tell?:lmao:
JK: tillys.com
Good morning Nana Nation..............
Shell: Hope you made it home safely. Sure did miss you.
Robin: Where are you?
Judy: Just a heads up on the iTouch......the guy at the Apple store said the closer to X-Mas it gets; the less they'll have. I mean I know this only makes sense but just to see how hard they were to get; I tried Target.com to see how much they were there and they said they could be ordered now, but they wouldn't be getting them in for 2-3 weeks. Maybe you won't have that problem, but just thought I would let you know.
Cheri-I would NEVER listen to my own music; I recorded most of it in a drunken stupor:rotfl:
J-Fed: Hope you're feeling better soon.
Check back in later..................

I missed the very beginning to see why Malone & Grissom seemed to be so antagonistic. THAT really got annoying.
Overall, it was o.k., not spectacular.

Kathy.... I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that pic is a fake. I have a real interest in real vs. fake photos on the internet. It was actually a compilation of two pics put together in a photo program. Not sure about the plane one...I've never seen that one.
I do have a couple that are documented as real, though....
Real pic...but the image is actually a bottleneck dolphin. I'd still leave a trail...http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/woogal/shark.jpg

Thanks Shell & Brantley for the help!:thumbsup2
Does anyone else have Windows Vista on their computer? It's taken me a while to figure things out (could also be my blond highlights getting in the way:rotfl: ) on this system. The only thing I usually use this for is DIS, so I haven't checked out most of the features.

Good Morning! Took me a while to get through the posts from last night!
Ron... William Grape! I don't think that would work for me! That was officially my pet, if you went by the cat my parents had it would be Snookie Grape! :rotfl2:
Staying home today. Elizabeth is going to come and stay with me for a while after her swimming lesson. The boys are going to spend the night at their papa's tonight. One of Skylar's friends coming over tomorrow. Hoping to spend more time on leaves tomorrow and Sunday. The tree in front was finally bare but the ones in back still have alot of leaves on them.
Oh, and yes I do some scrapbooking. My daughter spends LOTS of time scrapbooking. I thought I saw in the passporter that there was a store that had scrapbooking stuff. I do know Michaels has a ton of Disney stuff.
Will be checking in. Dawn

Shell.... what time were we supposed to leave originally?
Lol...Kathy....there was a story yesterday on msn about a surfer that was attacked by a 14' great white....severely injured and saved by a group of dolphins. They saw he was injured and surrounded him to ward off the shark. Amazing what certain animals will do....I love those stories.
