Mine goes off at 5:30. Even without the alarm, I wake up at that time every day. It really gets annoying on the weekends! Of course, I'm ready to go to bed at 10 PM most nights--sometimes I'm already sleeping on the sofa and Jim has to get me up to go to sleep.:confused:

Let's see--I got dumped from the board then my internet connection timed out because the train went by. But I'm back now, at least for a few minutes. It's finally quiet here, everyone but Jim and me is asleep, including almost all of the menagerie. The chincilla is running in his wheel, which for some reason has a bell attached to it so it makes a lot of noise. As far as I can tell, the dogs and cats are all sleeping.

I got all the way to Pop Century for the night before the cruise and realized that the camcorder was sitting safely in it's case--on top of my bed:headache:. So no video from that trip except what I was able to capture on my Palm Pilot! I did have the presence of mind to hand the Palm Pilot to Jim when I was chosen to be in the Flamingo Show at Ardastra Gardens in Nassau. I had dreamed of doing that since the first time I went to the 1963/64 World's Fair in New York and saw it in the original version of "If You Had Wings".

The more I look at the activities in the Oceaneers Lab the more I realise the boys are not going to want to do anything with me, I want to do the Mickey 200 with them but I am sure they won't want to leave their 'new' friends to come hang out with mom... Stacy, try Vanicream on your ankle. It is available at psico.com (if they ****this, pm me and I'll give you the site) and recently some larger Walgreen's. I suffered from excema until I found a wonderful doctor who found the cause instead of just treating the symptoms. Vanicream always works for me!

I'm not going to be around much longer either! That 5:30 alarm comes very quickly. Jim is watching some English murder movie, but it isn't holding my interest. It's on Encore, and it just doesn't seem to make any sense at all.

I'm sure your sons will have a blast! It will help that they have each other, but all the kids seem to be having a good time on the few occasions when we've seen them onboard. Because we hang out mainly in the "adults only" areas, we very rarely see kids while we're on board.

Well we were even closer to our camera and still couldn't get it. On our cruise last year, our digital camera broke on day one so we were already bummed, but then we did something really dumb. As soon as we had crossed the gangplank and entered the ship lobby, we remembered where we had left our camcorder...between the driver and the passenger seat in the van. :eek: With all of the trouble we had gone through with the multiple room keys (another painful tale) we were not about to have to try and clear through it all again to go out and try to get the camera. We just said "Oh well, we'll just have to book another cruise so that we can take some video then". :thumbsup2 Like we weren't going to rebook anyway. :rotfl2:

Well, I just happened to be going by Sears two days ago and they had thier halloween costumes on clearence outside on a rack. So, I picked up two Capt Jack Sparrow costumes in my kid's sizes, originally $25 each, for $2.49 each. yea. Then I went to Penny's and picked up some very tropical shirts to wear to the pirate party, $35.00 shirts, on sale for $1.95. yea again.

No snow here, but we're really close to the beach, and it's not icy, it's just miserably cold and wet. I think the snow line stops at about the southern end of Middlesex County. I'm never ready for snow. I don't like winter, I don't like being cold and wet! I'm not looking forward to walking that mile this morning! I just hope the heat is on in my office by the time I get there!

This is the next to the last Monday that I have to work. Two three-day weeks and that's it, and next week may turn into a two-day week if I don't have anything urgent come across my desk.

I had the same thing happen with a blue crayon and all out best clothes. I pretreated, washed in hot water hoping to melt the crayon and it worked on everything except a couple of things. Like my favorite pants, I will be wearing them on the cruise, please ignore the small blue spot on the cuff.:rotfl:

We did go to WDW in Jan and it was not cold, but we went to Tampa another year in Jan and it was in the 30's! :eek: It was COLD! Just depends on whether those Joisey folks send their cold fronts on further south! ;) :rolleyes1

It's cold and wet here today, but the weather report calls for temps in the 60's by Thursday. You just never know what's going to happen next with our weather!

I went to a clam bake several years ago with a group of friends. The theme was a Hawaiian Luau. Yes, they convinced me to wear a grass skirt (over my bathing suit). As I walked along the edge of the pool, I ran into my boss, who takes pictures EVERYWHERE. On the next Monday morning, there was the picture of me, grass skirt, bathing suit and all, attached to my computer monitor--and the monitor of each of my coworkers. :scared1: I thought about quitting my job and just going home, but I couldn't figure out how to afford things like rent and food, so I stuck it out. He still reminds me of it once in a while!

The copy machine repairman was just here in the office. I commented on his great tan (this guy is another shockingly pale person;)) and asked where he had been. He just came back from his third Disney Cruise (Eastern) and was trying to convince me that I should try it! Well, we had quite a chat! My secretary was doing this :sad2: the whole time. She just doesn't get it.

I haven't been online the past few days because DS2 has been :sick: Since he got his flu mist last Wednesday, he's been coughing and warm. He is getting better. But, still not 100%. I am glad he is sick now and not in two weeks. I know that DCL can deny someone from boarding if they look sick. So, we are pumping him full of medicine and keeping him from others. He should be completely better by Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2

I am going today to get my weekly B12 shot AND then get a flu shot. I don't want to be the sick one waving to my family from the dock. :rolleyes:

Bill mentioned to me that he told y'all I have already pulled out the luggage. :rolleyes: Yes it's true. I am getting into vacation preparation mode. Being responsible for the packing of five people takes come organization and coordination. I have pulled the bathing suits out to be rewashed and have gathered all the swimming equipment (snorkel gear and floaties for the kids). I am so thankful Bill was able to get us into a DVC property. I plan to use that washer and dryer. Which will help save room. So, I only have to pack for one week and then our formal gear separate. Otherwise, we'd have to pack for TWO weeks. I haven't been online the past few days because DS2 has been :sick: Since he got his flu mist last Wednesday, he's been coughing and warm. He is getting better. But, still not 100%. I am glad he is sick now and not in two weeks. I know that DCL can deny someone from boarding if they look sick. So, we are pumping him full of medicine and keeping him from others. He should be completely better by Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2

I am going today to get my weekly B12 shot AND then get a flu shot. I don't want to be the sick one waving to my family from the dock. :rolleyes:

I am no medical expert, but somewhere I heard that if you have never had the shot or only one in the past, the reaction is much stronger. I think it gets less with each shot. Oh, my pharmacist friend told me. Disclaimer... she says she is the dumbest pharmacist in GA.

I want to start working on the magnets, but I have to make a dozen Christmas ornaments for my Bunco group. Any ideas on how to get dice into a clear glass ball?

try to find fabric dice or use the plastic snap together ornaments wehre you can put them inside and snap together. I do not recomend using real dice in glass ornaments - had a friend do it with shells and sand - broke to pieces.


So if the launch is canceled do you get some kind of refund on these tickets??

I searched and searched for the answer and finally found it when I was looking into it for us - it tells you that you are buying tickets for the LAUNCH - not the date. So if the launch is moved - your tickets move with it. Now our problem is if it is moved to while we are on the ship we are just out that money. But lets say it gets moved for a month or so - you could still come and see it - just would be a long drive for us.

Last year the Magic went to Europe (Mediterranean) and the Wonder stayed in FL to do the Bahamas cruises during the summer months. This year (2008), the Magic is going to the West Coast (CA) to do Mexican Riviera cruises and the Wonder is staying on the East Coast again to do the Bahamas cruises. Right now there is just speculation that the Magic will return to Europe for the summer of 2009. However, the itinerary from last year may change. That is only a rumor at this time. Since, DCL will only confirm their itineraries up to December 2008.

I am sure you are aware that DCL is in the process of building TWO new ships. They are scheduled to launch in 2011 and 2012. The itineraries for those are both in the rumor-mill. Many thinks at least one will do Alaskan cruises. We can only hope. :rolleyes:

We haven't quite gotten into winter weather here in Texas. It is going to be in the 70s'/80 today. But, Thanksgiving is suppose to be in the 50's. Being originally from up north, I miss the seasons and fall in New England. We use to go to Vermont and pick apples. Those were the sweetest best tasting apples. Maybe, it was because we picked them fresh off the trees or because the whole experience made them taste better. :goodvibes

My docs still haven't been delivered. I have instructed DDIL to call me if/when they arrive. And I'm sure she has nothing better to do than wait for the UPS/FEDEX delivery woman--no, we don't get hot men on our route:sad2:--even our regular mail carrier is female! I had the same thing happen with a blue crayon and all out best clothes. I pretreated, washed in hot water hoping to melt the crayon and it worked on everything except a couple of things. Like my favorite pants, I will be wearing them on the cruise, please ignore the small blue spot on the cuff.:rotfl:

oh goodness that is very close - I hope you are taking Disney Transfers from the airport in case there is a problem on the drive there.

I know when we went 2 years ago it was when they were having all those fires and closing the road off and on which could be bad but it was my understanding that if you have disney transportation and there is a traffic issue you will still get on the cruise.

You are very lucky. I just back back from the store and spent 20 minutes trying to find a place to park (I mean a place where "I" can park.) My DH always comments that I am the only person he knows with three mirrors, a backup camera and a thing that beeps if you get to close to something who can still hit things. He also likes my famous 12-15 point turns.

I dehydrate quickly, so I drink water all day long. If I start to get dehydrated, I get a raging headache that may take days to go away, so I try to keep myself hydrated!

When I got home, my docs were here. They were on the front porch when Jim got home, so I guess that means it's official--we're going!

I agree with you about Joe! I was so happy to see that he was taking a cruise because I knew that his pictures would be great! I saw your comment about the tree being moved, too. Some of my favorite cruise pictures are the pictures I took of my FIL when we took him on his cruise in 2002. We got him all the way to the port before he realized that he was actually going to get on the ship! It took a lot of planning, but he was totally surprised, and it showed in the pictures. That was when the tree was all the way at the end of the terminal by the windows.

No, no upgrade. I have a suspicion that people who canceled a higher cat. reservation to book the Cat. 12 GTY didn't get too many upgrades! We don't mind, though. All that happened to us was that we moved from Deck 2 Aft to Deck 2 Forward (and lost the split bath). We like the inside rooms, and we really do like Deck 2, so all is well--and the refund came in very handy!

I always bring my little fan. When you are in the aft section, it can get really noisy, especially on disembarkation day. Third time for us in the aft section. I bring my fan with me anywhere I go now.

You are very lucky. I just back back from the store and spent 20 minutes trying to find a place to park (I mean a place where "I" can park.) Now you make me feel good. I've done 2 hit and runs in my own driveway 1 year apart in August (this past Aug). I thought I was so alone in this catagory. First was DD6 first day of school and she was not going to be late and 5 minutes before we had to leave to make that happen she was singing "Rudolf the Red Nose Raindeer" in her panties only. And then this year was about 6 weeks post partum (sleep depervation time) only about 1 month from getting the 2 vehicles fixed from the first wreck, I backed up the Suburban into DH's work car. :scared1: I thought he was going to kill me but I said I felt sorry for the repair man, he needed money LOL:confused3

Dh passed out in the aisle of an airplane once, at the start of one of our vacations. We had a tummy bug, and his way of coping with it prior to travel was to not eat or drink. Mistake. They got him back to the seat (I thought he was just gone to the bathroom, took me a minute to figure out the thud was him) and put him on oxygen. Scary. He doesn't let himself get dehydrated now.

We're pretty paranoid about that, I'm glad we don't have an adjoiner. We booked two nights at the Poly on our first trip, big splurge for us--and I got in the room to hear the lady next door totally YELLING at her kids. I was practically in tears thinking about our lovely little retreat being influenced by that awful abuse. (I am not immune, but you know, not constant, naggy/screechy...) I was soo glad when they moved us...:hippie:

I gotta share. When I am sitting her DIS'ing in the afternoons, DD11 is usually doing her hw next to me. She loves all the guys in my Sig. She really loves the dancin pickle..and will stand here and do the pickle dance singing.."I'm the dancing pickle"...it is too cute!! Now you make me feel good. I've done 2 hit and runs in my own driveway 1 year apart in August (this past Aug). I thought I was so alone in this catagory. First was DD6 first day of school and she was not going to be late and 5 minutes before we had to leave to make that happen she was singing "Rudolf the Red Nose Raindeer" in her panties only. And then this year was about 6 weeks post partum (sleep depervation time) only about 1 month from getting the 2 vehicles fixed from the first wreck, I backed up the Suburban into DH's work car. :scared1: I thought he was going to kill me but I said I felt sorry for the repair man, he needed money LOL:confused3

Anyone should know not to park behind a Suburban (even one with 3 mirrors, backup camera and alarm). I don't know if it is really so hard to see out of it or if I have taken the "I'm older (bigger) and have more insurance" attitude.:confused3

I totally agree. The worse part was his hitch on the Suburban just crushed the Camry bumper and the bumper of the Suburban was so minor. Needless to say he started cleaning out our garage to park 2 of the 3 vehicles - so I won't do that again BUT it's almost Dec and this was in Aug and still not there yet.

Now THAT would be my idea of a vacation! Although it would probably take me years to get my land legs back. It took almost five days after our B2B four-nights! And that was with smooth seas!


The worst I ever had it was last year - not a Disney - but I happened to get a cold while I was on the ship. I got back on land and swayed for 5 WEEKS. Like... to the point of bumping into walls when I was trying to walk. Went to the doctor and I still had fluid on my ear from that cold. So since I had sea legs when I got the cold, I kept them cause my inner ear had never rebalanced. :sad2: The doctor gave me a really strong decongestant and that finally cleared it up. :thumbsup2

No, no upgrade. I have a suspicion that people who canceled a higher cat. reservation to book the Cat. 12 GTY didn't get too many upgrades! We don't mind, though. All that happened to us was that we moved from Deck 2 Aft to Deck 2 Forward (and lost the split bath). We like the inside rooms, and we really do like Deck 2, so all is well--and the refund came in very handy!


We booked the Cat 12 gty to begin with and got that. It seems like a lot of the reservations with multiple rooms booked got upgrades. They can probably use the space. :thumbsup2

Ok, so I have another "odd" question: How sound-proof are the rooms?? We were talking last night and if there are noisy people next door or noisy kids, how easy is it to hear what's going on in the next room? Thanks!!!
