I think they were some of the ones that were B1G1 recently from Amazon? Not sure... I know the Disney Guess Who was, along with Disney Monopoly, Disney Sorry, etc

If you're interested I'll try to find the link. I bought a few games.

ETA: Never mind. It's a different promo now. Still though, if you go to Amazon (your games still come from Toys R Us) there are some promotions going on... when I searched for Disney Guess Who you get a free Nemo game... Disney Sorry you get a Jumbo Pooh plush for like $7...

Sorry for the misinformation!

Ok it's obvious you guys have been in a posting fury. There were 4 pages since I posted earlier this evening. We have been busy planning our summer camping trip/vacation. It looks like we may be heading to Ohio. I had no idea that so many of you lived there until after we made our preliminary decison. We do Disney every 18 months to 2 years so I need to go somewhere this Summer. DH has always wanted to go to Cedar Point. We mapped it out and it is about 12 hours from here. Niagra Falls is right on the way so we are thinking of driving 4 hours then stopping at a nice campground for a couple of nights, move on to Niagra Falls for a few nights then on to Cedar Point. My parents have a fifth wheel as does my brother and his family. We will probably all go. My Dad has requested a Casino and it looks like there is one in Niagra Falls. My ds2 wants a water park and there are a few to choose from. My dh and older sons want the roller coasters and we all want to see a different part of the country. Any useful information would be greatly appreciated. Any good time to go during the summer months? It's not Disney, but it is still exciting to plan something and to be in Kate, Kevin, Amy and Jennifer's backyard. It is like we will be visiting royalty. :teeth: And we will probably never get to meet.

Your trip sounds like fun! Cedar Point is a lot of fun. Going in the Spring/Early Summer/Late Summer means fewer crowds (as in any vacation destination), but it also means more winds. If you go during those times, plan for two days..... they aren't kidding when they talk about closing down the rides due to the wind from the lake. We drove up once and rode NOTHING. And, if there's a sign out front "warning" you of possible closings, they won't compensate you at all.

That being said, the coasters are awesome! Niagra falls is great too, have you all been? I have been to Vermont once, and only becuase I got stuck there when our flight was supposed to have a "short" layover. Glad I did though, it was beautiful! I think the airport is gorgeous, too, but I'm a big dork to even notice :goodvibes

When you get your plans narrowed down and more specific, we'd be glad to help! DH is from about an hour Southwest of Cedar Point, so we might be able to give you a LITTLE info anyway!

Sorry...was saying goodnight to Alyssa like a good Mommy.

Kevin really needs to update our signature to reflect our recent trip. I thought he would be motivated when he saw your new signature, Kate, but knowing Kevin, it has to be extra-fancy (extra-fancy = very time consuming to create). :wizard:

Deb, Cedar Point is awesome! However, it's only open in the summer months (weekends only in May, etc.), so there's really no "off-season." Just avoid the big holiday weekends like Memorial Day and July 4th.

Darn it, we didn't go into Once Upon a Toy this past trip and I missed the buy one, get one free TRU deal. I really, really want the POTC version of....shoot I can't even remember what it was, but it was $50, so we passed.

You think you're so funny! ;)

And Cleveland is better than Cincinnati in so many ways:
1) No gross Skyline and Gold Star
2) Cedar Point has way better roller coasters than Kings Island
3) Lake Erie is much prettier than the Ohio River
4) an NBA team, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, etc.

I could go on and on :earboy2:

but a) who cares about NBA? and b) Cleveland's NFL and MLB teams hardly even COUNT!

Yeah, yeah... you probably sent that sick bug down here just so you could get 9000! :rotfl: Dang, you've got 10000. Guess I'll have to wait and stalk for 11,000!

I'm just so tired. Rees was up all night sick, so I slept in his bed with him (he does better if he can cuddle- too sweet!). Needless to say, I didn't sleep well and then they all got up early 'cause of Daylight Savings. Just finished doing 5 loads of laundry (DH is ironing for me as I type), and then we're headed to bed. Don't want to miss Halloween!

BTW, EVERYONE PLEASE POST HALLOWEEN PICS WHEN YOU CAN! I'D LOVE TO SEE ALL THE KIDS AND ADULTS! My trio are going as Hercules, whichever Princess strikes DD's fancy at the time, and Captain Hook. Another Disney Halloween!

And a Happy Halloween to all my DDA Friends! Have a safe holiday! Love y'all!

Boy, I miss EVERYTHING! Look how many milestones there have been and I haven't been around for any. Oh well, I will be celebrating my own shortly...post 400 for me is quickly approaching. I know I am slacking compared to you all.

Jennifer and Kate - I am originally from Pittsburgh, just across the river from you all. My family is still up there. We make it how every 2-3 months or so. Cedar Point and Geagua (sp?) Lake were favorites of mine when I was little. Oh and Sea World too. I was so disappointed when they closed it.

I saw all those Disney games in the Toys R Us flyer. Haunted Mansion Clue. I'm thinking Santa will surely be shopping there.

Haunted Mansion Clue sounds adorable! I'm SURE Santa knows about all these fun games. I think that DH and I looked at a residency program in Pittsburgh. I really have always adored the Steelers (even moreso now that I get to see my freshman crush on TV each week .... what a great boy ;) ) and I think Pittsburgh is so much like Cincinnati. Unfortunately, I dont' think we ended up applying there. I have a friend that works each summer at Geagua lake, but I've never been there.

We got the Disney Sorry game 2 weeks ago. It's great! The kids have had a blast playing it. They love it when the Sorry! card gets pulled 'cause Mommy always has to go back to the beginning (a little creativity with the rules to keep peace in my house)!

I was actually up for quite awhile today - did some trick or treating at a local museum and then the zoo for more trick or treating.

Deb

There are two casinos in Niagara Falls. A Native American run one on the American side and another on the Canadian side. I've never been to either, but I'll ask around next time I'm "home" (probably Thanksgiving) to see if I can get any information on which is better. I can't remember when passports are going to be required to return from Canada, so you may want to stay on the American side. If you are planning to travel into Canada, you'll definitely need birth certificates for everyone, and you may need passports.

Last year we wore short sleeves to MVMCP but this year we are going 3 weeks later.

I know. I think I may make all short sleeve and buy the shirts a little big so we can layer a long sleeve under them if need be. My biggest fear is it is really cold :cold:and then we'd be in jackets all the time and nobody would ever see the designs!

I was thinking about that too. When we were there in Feb ... man was I COLD! I pulled my arms into my tishirt. I was hugging DS ... and DH was hugging me! Shivering to Spectro! LOL

I refuse to have that happen again!!!

Normally .. when walking, I'm not cold ... it's just when I stop moving! I asked about sweatshirts and I thik Kate said they would be fine for transfers. My concern is that they are not 100% cotton.

Then ... it struck me ... the SWIRL MICKEYS!!!!!

I checked the on-line prices for blamk sweatshirts .. and then was in Wal-Mart the next day. Found Jerzees full zip hooded ones cheaper than on-line (and no shipping). There was no white ... but there was a "light heather grey". I picked them up for the three of us.

I amging to use the swirl Mickey technique on the back. And ... I am trying to think of something .. other than a Mickey head to do on the front .. maybe in the upper left area.

So ... people won' tsee the cool t-shirt design ... but they'll have seen it all dat .. and i won't be COLD!!!

hanes has a line called stayclean - I made a lot of Julia's shirts on these - they are stain resistant and in the winter you can buy sweatshirts - you can get them at walmart in every color under the sun - if they are half as good as the sweatshirt - I would run as fast as I could to buy them - but since you all seem to be sick - that isn't very fast! :rotfl:

why did I say that? I know I am now going to get so sick I will not be able to get out of bed for a month - good thing I have a laptop! :rotfl:

We were there last year Nov.28-Dec.5. We wore shorts/short sleeves every day except for the 4th. It was cloudy/overcast and we needed jackets/pullovers. The night we went to MVMCP we wore jeans. The weather was wonderful.

I bought sweatshirts at Walmart today for myself and the kids. 50/50. I think mine was around 5 bucks and I don't remember how much the kids were. They were Hanes. I am still torn about whether to do sweatshirts or long sleeve tees. Maybe the tees because we could do turtlenecks underneath if need be.

XXl & XXXL had tags that read $12.77 but the rack sign said $8.97 + $2 for extended sizes .. so they rang up for $10.97

Paul, Thanks, I am sure he would enjoy it if I made it, however, it would be much easier if you just mailed me yours :rotfl: . He has been a dishwasher, prep cook, sous chef and chef and he now is the GM at a Country Club. Funny thing is he has only worked one place his entire life. Also contains: Cinnamon Oil, Macrogol, Polyethylene Glycol, Glyceryl Triacetate, Polysorbate 80, Macrogol Monooleate.

They're perfectly safe honest - I take them on the flight with me to try and keep my sinuses clear before the landing.

0/1000 is sort of a personal exercise challenge. I think I need some sort of reminder to embarrass myself into making healthier decisions again..... long story really, but that's the short of it

Well it's already up to 25 so whatever it is good luck and keep up the good work :goodvibes

Beth

Thanks for the info. I did hear that we will need passports to go to Canada soon. We live 2 hours from Montreal so I guess we'll need them sooner or later anyway. Any info on the Casinos would be great.

In a nice "sorry you're poorly" way I hope (rather than a "letting the side down by not going crazy with pumpkins" way :rolleyes1 )! Perhaps you should move to the UK - I've seen one pumpkin in our road, and quite a few pages out of the local newspapers saying "no trick or treaters please". I managed to get light-up devil horns for DS(5) down to 65p - I've said he can't go trick or treating but he desperately wants to "dress up and go for a walk", so I might just take him to a couple of near neighbours who have kids or grandkids and who won't be annoyed/offended.

BTW petrol (gas) round here is around £2 per gallon :earseek:

There are actually 3 other threads devoted to our designs, finished shirts and design tips - that was done so that we could have this thread to bounce ideas off of each other and grow as a community - if someone does not want to read our chit chat - they should post their questions and shirts on those threads

Not annoyed at all, I just laugh at what all directions the conversations go in and the occasional t-shirt design. :)

PS. the stupid transfer paper lady, is not very good at responding to emails. She won't tell me when my package shipped, just that it did. Yea right. I got word from others on the board that ordered after me and they have received their paper already. Getting ready to file with paypal if she doesn't respond soon.

We are flying, SW out of BWI at 0700 in the AM, which will make for a long day, but tickets were only 175 for the early flight, so I couldn't pass it up. Any chance we are on the same flight? How cool would that be?

We stayed at WL last December. Beautiful. Wanted to do something a little cheaper this year so we originally chose Pop, but then with the discount, POFQ was only $26 more, total. It was a no-brainer.

Well, we got great airfare ($152) on Independence Air at 3:15 p.m. which allows our older DD to drive up to IAD from Richmond. So we grabbed that and continue to pray they will stay in business through the end of the year.

Have you thought about doing a Park 'n' Fly at BWI? You drive in the night before and spend the night at certain hotels. They allow you to park your car there and shuttle you to and from the airport. That is what we always do when we fly SW out of BWI. It ends up costing about the same as paying parking at the airport.

We have stayed at almost every resort at WDW. Not the Yacht Club, AKL, OKW or Saratoga Springs. WL is one we always said we needed to do at Christmas and with the AP BRP we got it for $125! So, it was a no brainer for us too.

We will have to see if any of our park days match up. It would be wonderful to finally meet you in person, especially since we live less than a mile from one another!!

Tammi -- Well another thing we have in common... we are originally from Punxsutawney and lived and worked in Pittsburgh for a while too! Our families are still up there and we used to go to all those parks too. As well as Kennywood and Storybook Forest in Ligonier. Small world, indeed.

I haven't heard about the park and fly thing. Is it on their website? I will definitely look into that. I priced around Independence but for an early flight the cost was outrageous. I want to get there early and leave late. That way it is like having extra days. So your daughters are going again this trip too?

It would be wonderful to finally meet up. I know we will be at MVMCP the same day. Once you have your itinerary done we will have to compare. But if you are the master planner like me, it would have been done months ago!

Incredible. I say Pittsburgh, but the town I grew up in was Butler. No one has ever heard of that (unless you are from up there) but people easily know Pittsburgh. Kennywood was a yearly thing growing up. I've even taken my kids there now. We haven't made it to Ligonier yet.

I know Butler well! We actually lived in Beaver when my DH was working in Pgh. Had relatives and childhood friends who lived there for a while.

You are right, my itinierary has been in place for a few months now. Maybe we can PM them and see what compares. Which MVMCP are you doing? The 18th or the 20th?

Park 'n' Fly... do you belong to AAA? They can make the arrangements for you if you do. If not, let me know and I will see where in my list of Travel Links I have any info on it at BWI. I know there are lots of properties that offer the service.

Kate -

This is one I have found too:

And, FYI - we have used the Amerisuites 3 or 4 times. Nice property and nice people.

With parking fees anywhere from $8 - $10 a day, it does not take long to come out fairly even! Especially if they feed your family breakfast while you are there, which some properties do.

Hey guys - panic over - my shirts are finally working... I think I was a bit too impatient - ie not letting the ink dry and then pressing far to hard with the iron and then peeling the paper off to quick :0)

Wow, well we're back from our trip and I wanted to post our shirts as I didn't have time before we left. DH is a big hidden mickey fan and this is what we based them on. The shirts turned out awesome. I will try to post a pic of the finished shirts later; dh is currently editing the pics. We took them to our local tshirt shop and he used his heat transfer machine for a dollar a transfer. Well worth it since we could not get the iron hot enough to transfer. DH asked me how much I could get one of theose machines for. :rotfl2:

We got lots of attention and my mil told me someone asked her if she was from the "Dizzyboards"! :rotfl: I laughed, told her to tell them I was and gave her my screen name.

The pictures on the front are from past trips. People were doing the search on our backs in line and even walking down the street. One little eight year old boy tugged on my sil's sleeve and said, "I found Mickey!". Too cute!

I forgot to say that we also had an actual hidden Vojtik hunt in the Magic Kingdom. The kids didn't know that dh's aunt, mom, dad and sister would be there. We did a scavenger hunt with clues and they found a person in each location. They loved it!

Front first, then back.

We got back from our trip on Oct. 5th--I'm a little behind on posting! I just wanted to thank everyone for the different T-shirt designs! I did 2 of the Lumpy designs from Brendita, and everyone loved them! On the day we were in Epcot, we carried a stuffed Lumpy (the mini size) and put him in different places in the countries--the cast members loved participating! Thanks, Brendita, for that design!

Also, DH had the "Even Mickey Loves the Red Sox". . .that one was a big hit! I can't remember whose design it was, but thank you, thank you! DH loved it!

Does anyone have a Lumpy Christmas design? I wondered about a Lumpy/Roo/any Pooh & friends Thanksgiving thing, but I didn't figure there's much Thanksgiving stuff with Lumpy or anyone. Does anyone know? I wanted one to wear to our family Thanksgiving--spreading the joy of Lumpy to everyone!

You guys are awesome!
