Hi all, sick central here. Matthew is feeling fantastic, he was the first to get sick, Sunday 10/16 after first MNSSHP, even went to walk-in center but they were closed so we stopped by Reedy Creek FD to have paramedic look at him. Marti is still sick as a dog, I think it was the EMH at MK on Wed(at park until midnight) followed by another 2 MNSSHP back to back(Thurs and Fri.) She went to Dr yesterday and is on medication and resting.
Hi Denise,
As soon as we are feeling alittle better we will post more and include some pics.
Paul,
aka: Marti's Husband and Hunka Hunka Burnin' Love
Tell Marti to take it easy. I can tell the cold that we have is headed to be very bad. Kids are on the nebulizer already, and my chest is hurting. Tell her we can all do sick bed together and post on the DDA!
Hugs to you all!

Sugar Loaf. GF has 2 concierge areas. the Main building is called RPC (Royal Palm Club) and the Lodge Building Concierge is in the Sugar Loaf Building. SLC was concierge "light" until July of this year meaning no alcohol, cordials, late night desserts. Now it is full concierge at a much cheaper price. The big difference is it isn't in the Main Building and there are no lagoon views or castle views. Small sacrifice for the food, service, and planning assistance in my opinion.

Sounds worth it. And with you having 5 in your party, it is probably more economical to do that instead of getting 2 reg. rooms or a 2 br villa. I can't believe how close all of our Christmas trips are getting!!

It was! And we got a good AAA rate (almost cost us the trip...) which was cheaper than the regular GV rate. There were no AAA rates available for GV or LV when we booked. So I figure we got a really great deal!

Ok, Deb. Spill the beans. What's next?
Nick is going to be the head in a fortune tellers ball. It will be the same concept at the costume my dh wore to a party this year. We called it dinner.
This was my dh:http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/my3princes/webchris2.jpg
I plan to do the black monster part as a brightly colored fortune teller and put Nick's head in a clear plastic globe (with airholes). I may put an Einstein type wig on him.
My little one Colby is going to be a Christmas Tree. I'm going to make the costume similar to the Bee Hive, only getting wider toward the bottom. I'll get some battery operated christmas lights and some small ornaments to finish it off. I'v always wanted to do Christmas style costumes, but never have. We have a Santa Costume so maybe dh can go as Santa.
This is the Beehive Costume:
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/my3princes/webBeeHive1.jpg
I haven't been struck with the perfect idea for my middle son yet, but I've still got plenty of time. lol
It has gotten really cold here and we had snow yesterday though it is gone now so I need to get to the thrift store today to get a black trench coat that I can add gauze to to keep Hunter warm tomorrow night. His costume just had black pants and a black turtleneck which won't be warm enough.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/my3princes/web2zombiegoul.jpg
I have a black winter coat that I can put under the bee hive for Colby and The shirt for Nick's wolfman costume is large enough that I can put layers under it.

I used a mixture of flour and water... just mixed them together to get a mustard type texture. Poured them in a squirt bottle and then squeezed it out on the shirt.

Well, let's start by saying that I have NO SUN!!! NONE, Zip, Nada!!
so, I coulnd't let it dry in the sun.
I actually let it sit overnight. I did it last night before bed, and then painted it this morning.
I don't think 12 hours is really necessary to wait :rotfl:

Wow guys, you have been really busy.
Sorry so many of you have been feeling lousy.
Denise, sorry I missed you last night. Laid down in bed to watch the game and fell asleep in the 7th inning. Otherwise, I should have been up finishing up my t-shirts.
I love the "swirl" Mickey. Don't really think I am going to do another complete set of shirts for everyone, but maybe a new sweatshirt for me wouldn't be out of order. I need something in case the evenings in November get cool (don't I?).
My 3 princes, love your costumes. Got a big kick out of the picture with Pooh. I loved the fact that Pegasus was wearing "shades". Too funny! I also envy your talent with the other costumes you have designed and made. When we went to MNSSHP a couple of years ago, DH and I just borrowed scrubs from the hospital. It was an extremely warm night, and they were just the right weight.
Denise, glad everything worked out with your package. I noticed a reference from Kate that it wasn't your agent's fault. No matter whose fault, they should have been much more kind and proactive when dealing with it.
Kate, on your 4 parks theme, do they look like picture frames around the edges, or stitching? I thought in the picture of your lime green shirt, it kind of looked like stitching. That was really cool.
Well, sorry so long, just wanted to check in on my lunch hour.

Your dh could go as King Triton and you or your Mom could go as Ursula. I'm sure that you would draw a lot of attention. I was amazed at how much attention my dh as Zues drew. You could go as one of Ariels sisters. Good luck.

Those came out really cute. I was going to wait until I have time to make them, but dh and I decided to make tie dye shirts with a christmas tree on them for our family christmas. I think the Christmas tree design will be fairly straight forward to do and it should be recognizable. We have a big family christmas party (50+ people) and it is always warm so I'm debating whether to make long sleeved or short sleeved tees. I'm sure Denise will enjoy them.

Well I wouldn't say it's goofproof.. but it's not hard! I did it all free hand so I feel lucky that I got a good looking Mickey.. I was very nervous about him being crooked or something.
I was nervous at first b/c my mix seemed to bleed on the shirt, but once I let it dry long enough (overnight) it was fine.

I made MMC t-shirts for our MNSSHP costumes... and on the back I wrote DCelebrating Dad's Birthday - cast members were great - calling us by name - and wishing my dad a happy birthday everywhere we went...
Everyone was asking where we for the Food and Wine shirts - my friend was goofing with people saying we were going to open a shop in the parking lot for people to buy them.
(photos below)
Question though - during Saturday with the food and wine shirts I noticed near some of the edges the colors started to run - can anyone tell me why - did I not iron the edges long enough?
Thanks all - if it wasn't for this thread way back when it started I would never had made those shirts - Thanks for the ideas!

Food and Wine Shirts (you can't really see them - but they are wine glasses for the ladies with Mickey in them) and Beer mugs with Mickey leaning on them.

Hey Laura,
We ran into you at MNSSHP ( I think it was on the 20th ) on the bridge by AdventureLand, I wished your Dad a Happy Birthday but he was in his own world, took 2-3 times for him to relize it was him that I was wishing well.

Is there some way these can be morphed into one picture? And put the words "because 'Ohana means family" below it???? I could live if "Aloha" had to be taken out.
Anyone?????
Thanks!

Julia & Nick's Mom .... did you make this one? Or even just add the border?

I am wondering if the same border could be added to this one?

I thought since the coloring was similar ... it would look good on the front / back of the same shirt. What do you think?

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c319/pxydust/PATRIOTSSHIRTS.jpg
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c319/pxydust/MNF.jpg
DH would like them front / back on a dark blue shirt. But, I wasn't sure what the best thing to do would be. If we kept the blue border ... and it didn' tmatch the blue it would look funny .. and ind of clend into the shirt wouldn't it? On the other hand ... havign the white background stand out "naked" against the shirt color seems kind of odd too.
Any suggestions?
Please ... feel free to think on it ... cause I am am WAY too tired to stay up another minute! :( Plus ... it's amazing how early that school bus comes in the morning!
You just WAIT til that first day Julia LEAVES you to go to school .... man talk about sniffles from sadness!

I've picked my deisgns and shirts so this weekend the transfer paper and the iron will be out... :cheer2:
Oh and everything is ready for the wedding too! dress all packed - tuxes ordered - ceremony written. Just waiting for some cute mickey head cufflinks I ordered from ebay as a gift for DH2B - but I have a feeling they're not going to turn up on time... we are VERY catholic and my mom would die if we had not gotten married in a Catholic church - but I really think a WDW wedding would be perfect -
so when we got home last week - DH says to me - so I was checking out the GF wedding Pavilion - :confused3 - and I think it is the perfect place for Julia to get married - I told him that I thought it was pretty expensive and not a catholic church - he told me both could be worked around and if she and I ever wanted to have her wedding there - he was on board

:wave2: Just want to post a quick HELLO, GOOD-BYE and THANK YOU SO MUCH. Especially Julia & Nicks Mom for helping with my cruise t-shirt design.:worship:
I did not change much but added a Benji inspired, personalized Mickey head to the front of each shirt.
We are leaving in a few hours for our first ever cruise and when I return I will attempt to post pictures of our shirts.:scared: Yes, I am still up printing door signs and DH is working on the t-shirts. Did not realize until the literal 12th hour, despite all y'alls words, I had the type of transfer that needs stitch witchery to stick to the t-shirt. UUGGGHH! DH was nice enough, bless his heart, to take that chore on. He irons better than I do!! ;)
Thanks so much for all of you help posted here, as well as, your incredible designs. I downloaded the PS2 trial and had ALOT of fun playing with it. I completely understand how the DDA came to be.

WOW - I love the Philharmagic picture - where did you find it? I'm going to use it as my test pic and put it onto one of my T-Shirts - just in the interests of research you understand to make sure my DS's birthday shirts are OK
How sad am I logging into this three times a day when DH says we're not ging back for years? :earseek:
my mom would die if we had not gotten married in a Catholic church When we got married there weren't a lot of choices in the UK anyway - you got married in a church or a registry office (which was generally a very plain boring room with a hideous arrangement of chrysanthemums). Now you can choose castles, stately homes and all sorts.
I tried to persuade DH to have a rehitching ceremony on our trip but the Garden Grill was closed :sad2: I've suggested we have a Silver Wedding vow renewal as he says we can go back in 10 years - then I saw the costs on someone's thread :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:
Perhaps if the UK schools switch to a 2-week autumn break I might persuade him before then.... although I wouldn't fancy sharing my vacation with a hurricane! :earseek:

First let me say your Hercules family costumes are AWESOME!!!! SOOOOO Cute and Clever!!
Deb
I was a Christmas tree for a party one year (won 1st prize! :teeth: ). You can purchase a helium filled star shaped balloon and attach it to be the star on the top of the tree. (I wrapped the ribbon around my ponytail.) I also wrapped boxes that I could slide my shoes into. The bottoms were open so I could walk find - just had to put my tennis shoes on after my feet were in the box. I also sewed cheap garland around the tree (I used green felt to make a 'tree' dress). The battery operated lights look fantastic but the battery pack is heavy because of the D batteries so I used a fanny pack to carry that.
Since you have the holiday season (and clearance ;) ) ahead, you may be able to find some better lights/ornaments then I could. I can't wait to see those pictures!! :bounce:

I am sitting here at the office crying just thinking about having to tell him this. This was the teacher that I had to go talk to when my MIL died (in case my DS had trouble at school). She was so giving and supportive. It just isn't fair! Ever since my father died almost 3 years ago, I seem to have a lot more emotional trouble dealing with these things. Not sure I ever resolved that properly (and hard to move on).
We don't know anything of the arrangements yet, so I haven't decided what to do about taking him to the visitation or not.
Once again, sorry to bring everyone down.

Sorry for your loss! I lost my father a year ago to cancer...it was an extremely painful and agressive type. He died in my home...the point to me telling you this is 2 things...1. his death has made me very sensitive to other people's death. 2. Kids are extremely resiliant. Tell him gently & let him grieve in his own way...but he will be fine. Kids are able to cope much easier than most adults. That is the gift of being a child...many time I have wished to be able to see things through their eyes. Good luck..& prayers are with you.

Kristine,
Thank you for your thoughts. It is comforting to know that I am not the only one who has felt a heightened sense of grief since the passing of a close relative.
I am heading home now. Not sure if I'll see you later tonight or not.
Thanks again all!

I would let him decide if he wants to go to the services but would really enbourage him to go - I do not deal well with funerals but the more Igo the more I realize how important they are to the grieving process

On the topic of CRT - this may become a girls treat for us while the boys go do something manly :rotfl:
I wonder if this will fly or if they will have to go back to the old prices - I really think a lot of people will stop going
I am getting a little nervous
Disney significantly raised their cruise prices and now this - what else are they raising? I am worried that it may not continue to be a cost effective option for us - although since I own DVC we would just have to cut down on things we do there - probably not good business for them - once I am there I would imagine they would want me to want to spend my money on property and not find more affordable dininc choices!!!!

Disneyeveryyear -- hugs to you and your family. Maybe you could get your son a breast cancer bracelet? It's pink, so he probably wouldn't wear it, but it would be something he could keep in his room in rememberance of his wonderful teacher. My mother is a breast cancer survivor, and my son has a pink bracelet in honor of his Mumsey (that he keeps by his bed), but he's almost 10. Yours is older so that might not be okay for an older one.
Whatever you decide, your DDA DIS friends are here for you.

Actually, I think it is $2. $2 is not a lot ... but on multiple hats it DOES add up. And it's the principle of it all. I feel like WDW is really beginning to nickel and dime us to death! And when you think about the basic felt ears and what they charge for them already ....

Regarding the new pricing and ADR news....tourism for Disney must really be up that they feel that they can do this. I'm glad we got CRT for our Dec. trip, because I will not pay that amount of money. Unfortunately, some people will, which will just reinforce Disney's policy.

First let me say your Hercules family costumes are AWESOME!!!! SOOOOO Cute and Clever!!
:bounce:
I had thought of the presents on the shoes. I'm not sure if it will effect the way a 3 year old walks though. I hadn't thought of a balloon for a star. I am going to look for a small battery operated star so if I can't find one I could do the balloon. Our tree at home always has homemade ornaments and strung popcorn so If I can't find what I'm looking for I can always make them.

Be sure you explain things to your son. When I was in 5th grade, I had a wonderful teacher who I loved dearly. He was like a grandfather to me. One day, he and I had a confrontation over a baseball game. Due to problems with my eyes, I can't see well enough to play the game, but it wasn't diagnosed at that time. He wanted me to play, I didn't. I ran away crying. That very night, he had a heart attack while working on his farm, and died. When the principal told our class the next day, I was POSITIVE that it was my fault that he had died. It wasn't for years that I realized I had nothing to do with it.
If my parents or the principal had taken the time to explain what exactly had happened to him, I wouldn't have blamed myself. I still feel badly that the last words I spoke to him were in anger.
I'm so sorry for your loss and for your son's loss. There's nothing better than a dedicated teacher.

Ok, now I'm caught up. DisneyEveryYear. I'm so sorry. I had a teacher of mine die when I was in the 6th grade. He had actually taught my math class that day then went home to shovel his driveway and had a major corinary. He had several children and the youngest was just a toddler. It was very sad, but attending the service helped me get through it. I'm sure your son will be fine, just give him a little time and as much info as he needs.
On an entirely different topic. I have the post Disney cold that seems to strike after each trip. I would really love to just stay in bed, but that will never happen. DS 8 had his "friend" birthday party after school today and boy were they wild. My DM took my youngest and oldest along with my neice and nephew to a costume contest at a local grocery store. They all won a prize (well actually they were the only kids that showed up. :rotfl: :rotfl: ) After my sons party we got the boys dressed in their costumes and attended our town Halloween Party. They had a shadow puppet show that was "Sleepy Hollow" I'm sure that it would have been a great show for an older audience, but they lost the kids about 10 minutes into it. They had a costume parade with a contest later and My youngest (the bumblebee) won cutest and my middleson (Zombie Goul in the coffin) won most original. After the contest one of the judges said that if they had realized that they were related they wouldn't have chosen them both. I understand sharing the prizes, but if they both have good costume then they should be judged on those ground, not who they are related too. Oh well they were both happy anyway. The older son was a great sport and congratulated his little brothers. I think I'm more proud of him for being a good sport than for the younger two winning trophies.

It's so hard to let go of people we care about. :grouphug:
May I suggest you read a book that I think may help you find comfort in. It is called "The Five People You meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom, I found it gives us another way to look at death. It just makes us realize, hmmm we never know about this life and it's meaning and most of all, why we have certain people cross our paths. It really is a great read. Most people I give it too, read it in one sitting.
Please take care and take the time to mourn. Writting letters to these people, even after they are gone, can be VERY healing. I hope this helps some. Sending prayers your way.

Another exciting Friday night at my house
Julia and Nick were in my room watching TV when I heard a High Pitch Scream from Nick - I know you know what I am talking about - the scream that you know means I am hurt and it is bad - so I RUN upstairs - he is ballng his eyes out - I see Julia stash something in my armchair
it is the ear cleaner - i got it from the Doctor's office - the ones that look like this
http://www.otcsuperbuys.com/cgi-bin/store2/picserve.cgi?picserve=/earwiz1.jpg
when Julia used to get bad ear infections - my sister whose DH is a doctor reccomended I use that when there was a huge piece of wax so I don't risk pushing it further in - so when my kids have big pieces of wax that pulls it right out
anyway - turns out Julia decided to clean Nick's ear - you guessed it - his ear is bleeding and I am guessing she punctured his ear drum -
I talked to the doctor and she said just to be sure we come in the morning to have it checked - we were in the car on the way to urgent care - I was shocked she didn't want us to go tonight - but he is happily playing upstairs now
does anyone have experience with this -maybe you nurses do?

Not with kids ... but I punctured my ear drum in college. Well, technically, my boy friend -- the dufus -- whacked my elbow while I was cleaning my ears ... and forced te Q-tip into my ear! Not pleasant at all! Oh ... and I was getting ready for my girlfriend's wedding!!!!!!
As I recall, there was not much that could be done for it. I found that laying on a warm heating pad made it feel better. Could have been in my head ... but it sure felt like it helped.
I hope things are OK in the morning. I'l bet Julia feels so bad. :( We only hurt the ones we love. ;)

I had a friend that it happened to. I don't know any technical info but it healed naturally. The Dr. told them that they would have to watch it and that they might have to do surgery later but it was not likely. They did not have to do anything & he is fine. It has been several months. It was very scary for them but turned out fine. He was in a lot of pain for awhile so I would think that it is a good sign that he is not crying. I will pray for him.

I thought I'd answer this one... Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow...
I learnt that at the Walt walk through at MGM last trip :0)
Busy night for you guys - Kate how is Nick's ear today?
I finished work yesterday so today is officially the start of my four week vacation even though we don't fly until Thursday! :cheer2:
I think I'm getting my boss' cold though and he'e been sneezing and blowing his nose all week! I must get some sleep to try and stop it in its tracks - but that's difficult when I have two cats who wake me up at 7am for breakfast... even when I'm on holiday :0(

Rosiejo - good luck for your wedding
You could go with an intimate - up to 12(?) guests Trouble is with four of us and my DSis and her family we're up to 10 already, though as she was my chief bridesmaid and DBIL was best man you could argue we won't need any more, especially if my mother won't fly that far (and MIL not that keen on flying either).
disneyeveryyear - my father died of pancreatic cancer the very day I went back to work after having DS(12) (who was then 4 1/2 months). I still well up thiking of it, and anything about deaths or fathers sets me off boo-hooing  Make sure you explain to DS that you are sad for yourself as well because of the memories it brings back, in case he feels he should be even more upset than he is. (if that makes sense)

disneyeveryyear- so sorry to hear about DS teacher. My DD had a coach that died while she was in school- and this coach was the father of one of her teammates. It was very hard, but she did far better then I expected. I think often kids rise to the occasion and see where support for the family suffering is needed and they become quite strong. I'm sure your son will be ok after the initial shock wears off.
Rosiejo!!!! You're getting so close! WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!! I don't think I'd be sleeping much if I wear you! It's good you have evereything packed- just don't forget the rings! It would be way to far to go back and get them! I'm gonna be staying at the AKL on Friday November 18th. Can you post a picture of you so if I see you I can say hi?

Hello, hello!
We just got back from a sneak peek of Chicken Little...Alyssa sat still for 99% of the movie! I guess I let her watch too much TV at home...she was mesmerized!
Anyway, I thought it was pretty good...though there aren't really any original songs, you'll enjoy the music and they did a great job of casting voices. Zach Braff (I love Scrubs!) is a great Chicken Little! The animation was well-done and though there is a little "potty talk," I think kids of all ages will like it.
Thinking of you all!

BEAUTIFUL!! I'm gonna print that picture right up and take it with me to WDW! Then, on Friday night, I think I'll have me one of those "hidden rosiejo" hunts! I'm gonna be looking for you girlie........so if you happen to see 3 middle aged women- 2 with dark hair and a pooh shaped blond (that would be ME!;)), looking in all the nooks and crannies of AKL, then you'll know it's us- so come and say hi.
OK all you tie Dye experts out there. I've finally started my tshirts!!! I traced, basted, pulled and rubber banded to the best of my abilities- and they are now soaking in the powder (ash) for 20 minutes. The only thing that I can tell that I did wrong so far is that I mixed the poweder in my laundry room sink- which left the water not too deep! So..... I'm gonna do 20 minutes to each side of the shirt, because only about half the shirt is emerged in the water. Do you think that'll be ok to do?
I finished my luggage tags, and i'm onto the pillow cases now! I'll try to post a picture of all when I'm done.

Thank you all for your support.
Miss Missy - I have read that book (does listening on CD count?), and really enjoyed it. Maybe I need to sit down with it again.
Last night I just answered questions as DS had them - "Mom, how do you get cancer?" - My biggest fear with that is just a couple of weeks ago he found out that I had cancer 10 years ago. Hopefully he doesn't put 2 and 2 together and get 5. I was very lucky that mine was fixed surgically with no chemo or radiation. He had other questions, about one every 30 minutes or so, that I answered the best I could.
Today I am finding that keeping busy is the cure. After two soccer games, a trip to Boy Scout Camp and a trip to Michaels, I have cleaned the kitchen and am now getting ready to start working on T-Shirts.
Athenna - Yours is first up. It should be finished before supper.
Kate - glad to hear that Nick is A-OK. Funny that we have to put away the things that are supposed to help our kids, huh?
RosieJo - I am so excited for you (just take it easy and start taking the echanasia [sp?] and you will be fine before you leave) and reviewed your picture. We will also be at WDW from 11/12 - 11/18, so we may see you there. Aren't you and DH going to be sporting Bride and Groom ears? I'll be on the look out for you.
Gotta go work on shirts! See you later. I don't have any big plans tonight, maybe we can get together.

Regarding the new pricing and ADR news....tourism for Disney must really be up that they feel that they can do this. I'm glad we got CRT for our Dec. trip, because I will not pay that amount of money. Unfortunately, some people will, which will just reinforce Disney's policy.
I am in total agreement with you on this, Tammi. What probably makes me the saddest is that they have eliminated a very nice TS restaurant for families by changing the dinner meal to a fixed price menu with pictures and characters.
Not everyone who vacations at the MK wants to eat at a character buffet or meal!
As long as it remains this way we will never return to eat in older DDs "house." :( :(

This happens to DH also when he gets a sinus infection. Of course, it always happens at 1:00 a.m. (after I told him to go to the Dr. at 8:00 p.m.). He always thinks a trip to the ER is required. Not since we got new insurance!
Anyway, what we have found helps him, is to take wet washcloths and warm them in the microwave (be careful - not TOO hot - they may continue to warm a few minutes after you take them out), as warm as you can take. Lay them across your cheeks and nose. When it cools off, grab a warm one.
It can take up to 45 minutes or an hour of constant rotation, but usually DH can then blow his nose very productively and relieve pressure.
Hope this helps.

And to all you who are suffering from ailments, here's wishing you speedy recoveries, or at least good drugs to mask your symptoms.

I just got home from work. I had been suffering from my annual post disney sore throat/cold, but woke up this morning symptom free. I consider this highly unsual as They usually last weeks. I took antihistimines and tylenol and advil for 3 days and it seems to have done the trick. I thought I'd see what everyone is up to tonight. Sounds like quite a few of you are heading to Disney soon. I hope you all have a wonderful trip full of magical moments. Our trip was perfect and dh keeps talking about when we go back so all is well.

I am really surprised you haven't gotten the ebay transfers yet - every order I placed from her has arrived within two days - where do you live? maybe it is the mail!
Yea, I was reading her feedback and it really brings up questions about shipping this large order. She blamed an earlier non-responsive email on computer problems, but is able to list new items and provide feedback to others in that same time frame. It's starting to smell a little :fish:y.

that's what I always do with a sinus infection - I love showers though!!! My favorite thing to warm up in the winter is to take a LONG HOT shower and then curl up in bed!!!
Me too! But I even put the bathroom heater(ceiling vent) on and it gets sooo toasty in there! But I hate to go to bed with wet hair.. brrrrrrrr

ok, so I am ready to print, my test print shows a lil white where black should be on the rims of my black letters. How should I set up my printer? I have Lexmark X125. It has these options auto color, color photo or color graphic. DPI I tried was 1200 X1200 should I try 2400 dpi? What options? I have tried a bunch of options and it isn't any good. SHould my file be a jpeg? I tried to print from photoshop, should I try paint or something else? :confused3 Will it be better? Help! Thanks

Ok - Rosiejo - remember we're "across the pond" over here - but what is a "hen" party? I assume it resembles our shower here. Fill us in!!
:rotfl:
Well a "proper" hen party can be a bit raucous! Lots of alcohol and maybe even strippers!
BUT - my hen party probably resembled a shower much more - we got together (just the girls) at my house in the afternoon and pampered our feet (we had washing up bowls with pebbles in for foot spas!) while munching our way through a huge spread of party food.
Then we got dressed up and went out for pizza then to a couple of bars for a quiet drink.
It was a lovely day and we all had fun.

I'm still sneezing but I've been taking my vitamins! The weather isn't helping - it's unseasonally warm for this time of year but quite wet.
I'm going to be on the look out to buy those mickey and minnie ears as soon as we get them and then I'll bully DH2B into wearing them :goodvibes
Athenna's shirt looks great - I have that one on my list to make. Looks good on a white tee so think I'll go with that colour too - if I can find my light transfers!
Just a reminder....

Don't forget to set your clocks back tonight! (Those of you in the US anyway). (Well, those of you in parts of the US that obsersve Daylight Savings Time anyway) (sheesh).
Fantastic you answered my question - UK clocks went back and I wondered if that meant we were now 6 hours behind FL - I take it they went back too so it's still a 5 hour difference.
BTW what does that 0/1000 mean in your sig?
Everyone - thanks for all the comments on my picture! It keeps haunting me in people's quotes :rotfl:
Denise - I hope you're on the mend and it isn't too serious - blimey we are a sick bunch round here - maybe we're catching it from each other(!) :badpc:
Karebear Sinusitus sucks - and does give you awful toothache. I used to get it all the time before I had to cut out dairy. Try getting some kids "karvol" capsules - not sure what they're called over there - you break them open and put the liquid on a tissue to sniff. Also do the put your head over a bowl of steaming water with some vicks in it and a towel over your head trick. You need lots of steam to clear your sinuses. Failing that sinutab or another medicine may help. Hope you feel better before your trip :goodvibes

That's sounds like something that would be ILLEGAL here! ;) I'm afraid we haven't the pleasure of having anything like "Karvol" here........... and to think- the give it to kids in England!
Anyone here know what she might be talking about??? I didn't think about Vicks- maybe I'll do that today! Thanks for he suggestion Rosiejo!

Yes, except that you will be there a few days longer than us. We were going to be staying at Pop too, but changed to POFQ when the discount came out.
Are you all flying or driving? We have stayed at POFQ for a couple of trips and I have to say it is one of my favorites. We are very excited about the extra two days we tacked on at the beginning of the trip. Saved $$ on the air fare and we get two additional days at WDW! Could not get rooms added on at WL so we took Pop instead.
But we are most excited to be staying at WL for the first time. We always said we wanted to try it for Christmas one time... and now we are.

But, how come my directions from ebay paper says do not flip image? I have lettering, don't I have to flip it?

nope - it took me a while to grasp this concep t-
on the dark transfer paper - you will print normal and then iron it on with a piece of parchment paper over it - the best way I can describe it is the difference between a child's sticker and a child's tatoo - the tattoos you melt on and the dark paper is more like a sticker you stick on
trust me - once you make it - you will understand - I didn't at first either!!!

We are flying, SW out of BWI at 0700 in the AM, which will make for a long day, but tickets were only 175 for the early flight, so I couldn't pass it up. Any chance we are on the same flight? How cool would that be?
We stayed at WL last December. Beautiful. Wanted to do something a little cheaper this year so we originally chose Pop, but then with the discount, POFQ was only $26 more, total. It was a no-brainer.

I had one yellowed spot, and I had definitely had the iron on too long there.... so my guess is that's the case! Hopefully that will fix it and you won't have a problem with the rest... do you have the ebay stuff? That's what I used, and I only ran into problems when I didn't move the iron enough. HOpe that helps!
