If talking about poop covered pennys and showing them to kids is ok, then this should be fine too.
The "poop covered penny" was not shown to anyone else's childen but her own!! That was her choice. Your graphic image was posted on a public forum where anyone's children can see it. That is not okay. This is my last word on the subject, as I agree with Rosiejo. No arguments.

Denise, I was just on the phone with CRO. Someone on your other thread (codes and rates) said that with the new 90 + that ADRs would automatically be cancelled if you cancelled your reservation. Thank God they were wrong. All of my ADRS are intact. I was told that as long as you made them yourself through Disney Dining that they would remain until you called and cancelled each individual one (this includes my sleigh ride reservation). I sure hope that you are getting somewhere. Please post and let us know what's happening. We all feel so badly for you and hope and pray that the Disney magic will shine through for you.

Ok, after a LONG day on the phone with a VERY rude AAA branch manager (his wife is the Travel Manager who was supposed to make our payment)... our trip is REBOOKED and now PAID IN FULL!!!!!!!! :cool1:
Here's what happened. Last night I called Disney Visa to order Reward Cards for our upcoming trip and to transfer our reward dollars. Well, I noticed that there were no charges on our Visa for our Disney trip. I had called AAA on 10/12 to pay in full- the actual 45 day mark was 10/15 so I called 3 days early. At that point the AAA people were like why are you paying now? It's not due until check in. I told them packages were due at 45 days... That should have been my first clue that this office is completely inept as far as Disney.
So, I asked DH about the CC, and we just figured it was taking a while. We decided we better double check just in case. I emailed the GF Concierge and asked them to check on our ADRs and email me our new itinerary. I also sent an email to my AAA agent and the branch manager asking why it wasn't showing up.
Well, this morning I had an email from the GF IPO saying they couldn't find our reservation at all anymore and that our ADRs were also missing. I tried calling I called CRO and spoke with a really nice CM who said that no payment had been made on our ressie and that it had been pulled and was in the process of being cancelled TODAY. they would NOT let me pay CRO directly as AAA holds the reservation. I told them I couldn't get hold of anyone at the AAA office, and CRO said there was nothing they could do as it was not "my" reservation and was well under the 45 day. So I literally had today to get this straightened out. He said as of midnight the reservation would be 'gone'.
I finally called the emergency number at AAA and got hold of someone. I was sobbing, in tears, and not real happy with him. He said to call back in 30 minutes. I did, and he still hadn't even pulled my file! I told him our reservation number, what had happened, that the Travel Manager had my payment last Wed, Disney was cancelling our ressie... He gets all defensive and it turns out he's the branch manger and she's his WIFE! He said he'd "try" to help me (very sarcastically). I said "TRY"?! After you all have completely messed up our package? He was a jerk. He tried calling CRO twice and couldn't figure out how to pay off the package. Finally, he reluctantly got his wife on the phone, and she called them. She never apologized or even explained why she dropped the ball. Supposedly we are PAID IN FULL , but I just got home from my kids Halloween Carnival at school and haven't called CRO yet to verify.
Then I emailed the GF IPO and asked them to please see what they could do. THEY WERE AWESOME!!!! They were able to get our ADRs back including CRT. Some of the times are a little different, but that doesn't matter. They went above and beyond, and I am so happy we paid extra for concierge. Otherwise, we probably wouldn't have any ADRs at this point.
So, believe me on Monday am DH and I are doing some serious complaining to AAA (above the Branch Manager's head) and writing a letter to AAA corporate documenting what happened. I am thoroughly disgusted with this situation and the branch manager's attitude today was appalling (blaming it all on Disney for not notifying them when the package wasn't paid...). I will never book with them again unless I use Michelle Shears or another AAA Disney specialist.
Again, thank you all for the prayers and PD. I'll let you know after I call CRO. I am so exhausted now (I can't tell you how hard I cried all day- I know it's a trip, but I am so looking forward to this). Bama's on now, so ROLL TIDE! Gonna have a beer and watch the game. I'll post again afterwards.
Whew...what an emotionally draining day for you, Denise! I'm so glad to read that things have been "fixed!" :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
Amy :)
P.S. I've been a member of AAA for 7-8 years, and when I finally called them because I had a flat tire, they claimed they had no record of me. Luckily, I was at a gas station, so some people helped me, but I was not thrilled!

DH had a flat about 3 weeks ago when he met me and the kids at the doctor for an appointment. Long story short, AAA was going to take 3 hours. DH and I ended up changing the flat on our own and going to a garage ourselves. They SUCK!

How long is your trip? We may overlap. We arrive on Dec. 4.
And in my post flying, I can't remember who felt silly for booking a year ahead? Girl, we've got three trips booked (two in summer 2006)! It's never too early to start planning and saving!!! I usually tell my Dh I won't leave Disney until the next trip is booked!! He's scared to raise the children alone. :teeth:

Tonight - my mom is technology challanged - when we were looking at her pictures tonight - she said
my camera said the date had been reset - why is it wrong?
I was just getting ready to order her WDW pictures and realized they are all date stamped - I guess I will be cropping and editing first!

Wonder what all the DDAers are doing at WDW right now? Pick a DDA and guess what they're doing. I'll start:
Marti and Paul: the hunka burning love is with his lovely DW and DS and they are dressed up for MNSSHP. He's wearing his Cindy shirt, they are laughing and playing and having a fabulous time. They've eaten steak for dinner, had a few beers, and are hunting down DDA shirts on the streets!

Eep! I am glad you felt the picture was funny, Denise. I was feeling guilty since I was the one that said heads should roll! (It's that ROLL TIDE ROLL thing that popped into my head and made me think of that saying.) I just didn't think it would be Mickey's head! He didn't do anything wrong. ;) Anybody have an AAA head?
Glad your trip situation was taken care of, even if it was done with such poor manners. Why can't people say Sorry anymore?
OT and gross story....
Several weeks ago, we ordered delivery pizza. My dd grabs a couple of slices. She gets ready to eat one and there is a fly imbedded in the slice! GROSS!! DH quickly calls the pizza place, tells them about the problem, they ask... what do you want us to do? Bring you another pizza or give you credit for a new one? Dh says... you know I have to ask my wife what we should do, but don't you think it would be best if you said SORRY this happened! Oy! (We took the free pizza and gave it to my sister's boyfriend. He is a starving college student and will eat anything.)

Denise, I'm so relieved everything got straightened out for your trip. What a nightmare. I've never used AAA for travel, mostly just for the discounts I get with my card (just saved $300 on two new pair of eyeglasses). My stomach was churning just reading about it, I can't imagine what a hellish day it was for you. I had faith that Disney would do whatever they could to help ::yes::

I think I have a request that hasn't been made before!
OK- here's the CHALLENGE!!
Someone has a designh that has sleepy on it- and it says Sleepy's Super Slumberland Better beds to lay your heads. It's one of the series that was made with the 7 dwarfs. ANyway..... is it possible to change the color of Slpeepy's clothes to a light blule and the change the colors around the sign and under the words Super Slumber land to compliment the blue? I guess now, looking at the picture- you'd have to chane hte pillow case for the color taht sleepy is wearing in the original as well.
Do you get what I mean??? Anyone?

Wanted to let you all know that I've washed all my tshirts and dried them for a few minutes and hung them up. They all came out perfectly fine. (I used the dark ebay transfers and the burlington ones)
Also, when I was at MNSSHP Thurs Oct 13th before the fireworks I saw someone with a green mickey head on their backpack..They were enveloped into the crowd so quickly I couldnt get a look at the person lol. She had dark long hair pulled back..i think :earsgirl:
I know some people said they were at POP while we were there, but I have a bad memory when it comes to remembering peoples faces from their pics.
We were right next to the hippy dippy pool in bldg 4. We got 4 towel animals from Sue our mousekeeper, they are so cute. She also put my sisters lilo and stitch in the window and the crown from my sisters costume on lilo's head.

Geez....I have been gone for a few days and I miss all of the drama.
Denise, I am glad that everything worked out for you. I can only imagine all of the agony you must have gone through that day. I hope you get some sort of compensation from AAA. At least in the end, everything was still in place.
On another note, I would like some feedback from those of you that have just returned from your trips. We are considering a short trip to WDW next Oct. for MNSSHP. From what I see, we have to arrive by like the 4th of Oct. for value rates. How unbearable hot/humid is it down there at that time of year? Would it make that much difference in the temp if we waited a few weeks and went down mid to late Oct. and paid the regular season rates? We have never been any other time of year other than December, so I am a bit nervous about October.

Thanks for the concern! They wouldn't talk to me about it there. They would only take my information down and have someone contact me. The day we got home, which was exactly 1 week later, we received in the mail a long form to fill out. We have to list everything we ate or drank for 72 hours. They can't make it easy. My mom was sick too. We both had chicken parm at Mama Melrose. We know it was food poisoning because we were very sick exactly 12 hours after and both at the same time. Also in the close quarters of a value resort, nobody else caught it. I will update after Disney responds but I think it will take a long time.

:rotfl: Well really if you count the hours, one full day. :goodvibes
Steffy and I have gone down to Cape May every year for the past eight. So this is year number 9. Even after 9 days in WDW, I said I could not miss a tradition we started and needed to get some christmas gifts. :) We started off with staying one night, then moved it to two nights. I said how about just one night this year and off we went.
While driving down, we were thinking of where to eat and had talked about our favorite places and decided on Godmothers for dinner that night. Yes, there is a place called that :rotfl: They make their own pasta and it is just the best. Sorry folks, it is better than Mama Melrose's.
Since we left so early yesterday, (I was up at 7am and I am not a morning person) we thought well, why not stop at the Crab Trap, (yes it is called that) for lunch. The food is fantastic, in the past we have waited as long as 1 hour, 45 minutes. We were still able to have our favorite dish. Sweet Potato crusted Salmon. Instead of a baked sweet potato on the side they sorta mashed the potato and put butter and brown sugar and mixed it all together. It was just the best and we ohhed and awed the whole meal. After while heading on to Cape May, we were talking about Steffy's car, (Miss Blueberry) and how she had stood up to these trips and thankfully she has not had to try anything amphibious. It had been raining and just at that time, we drove through a very big section of water. Sprayed up past the window. :earseek: We laughed so hard and all I could think of was thank goodness for protection.
We get down to our hotel, check in and take off to do our shopping. My first stop was going to try to exchange a bracelet for something else at a place called Trade Winds. We pull up to the place and it is empty. No signs, no explaination, just a For Rent sign out front. :confused3
Okay, no problem, you just go to the next place and start shopping. We park, feed the meter and start off to the first of many places we go to every year. We start to walk past the candle place and I notice that it looks VERY different. :worried:
I walk in and nothing is the same. NOW I am getting very worried. I tell Steffy that if the Children's store is gone I am going to freak out. The next words out of my mouth is "Dorothy, we are not in Kansas any more." At the same time Steffy says "I feel like I am in the twilight zone. :earseek: Do do do do
We turn the corner and phew, that store is still there. We ask the store owner some questions and she tell us that it seems that a few changes were made this year. Someone sick, someone just decided it was time to move on, someone else decided he could make more money renting the building than having his own shop, etc. That made sense so we finished shopping there and went on to the next shop.
We finally get to the one store that I have managed to buy something every year there that you would just not find where we live. Well, the name is different, the contents are different and I was kinda in shock.
We go outside and talk about this and agreed that if just one store had changed we would have understood. We look over and WOW, the one store that we have managed to find little things every year is there. I have found unusual Harley Davidson things for DH and all I wanted was for that store to be the same. Thankfully it was. After Steffy found candle lights for the windows for her home, we walked on to our next store.
We come up to it and it is dark. Now I knew with the owner being elderly, there was always a chance she might not be there. We think well, she just closed early and will be there tomorrow.
Finishing for the day, we head on to Godmother's and had the best meal. Me, lasagna, Steffy the veal. Steffy had the Creme Brule for desert. Went back to the hotel, watched Chicago and off to dreamland.
Today we headed back to finish shopping and went back to the Imporium. I found the best sign for DH, it had billiards and snooker and a place for scoring on it. I was so excited. One of these years our basement will be the best bar, playroom ever. :earboy2:
Back to the one store that was closed. Still closed, and all I could think is the owner might be sick or even worse. Every year I have bought very unique ornaments for friends and family members and all I could think was that I was not going to be able to continue a tradition that I look forward as much to as those who receive the gifts. We found out that indeed she had fallen and luckily was ok. I was able to find some of the same type of ornaments at another place so that ended ok but again a little wrench in our traditions. We did manage to find some very warm and snuggily socks at one place made by the same person who designed pjamas that are on the list of Oprah's favorites. I have them on now and I wish I could wear them to work :rotfl: :rotfl:
We finally finished shopping and discovered that Steffy had made the most purchases which is unusual since I usually have the most to buy. Of course with some stores being gone, that easily changed my list.
We had the best time, good food and now of course I am so very tired, to off to bed for a good nights sleep. Need to get to work on time. :earboy2:
Steffy will write about our trip to WDW really soon.

I missed a few days and boy I seem to have missed a lot! :earseek:
Kate - thanks for posting your T-shirt tips and photos post - the shirts look awesome!
Triplefigs - I'm so sorry you had the AAA scare - and so glad things seem to have been straightened out! I've been happy with AAA for service; but the several times I tried to talk to travel agents there at our office (mostly for Disney trip plans/ideas) I found them to be unhelpful, unknowledgeable, and sometimes rude.
a few days! :sad2:!! I would be crazy mad about that! Man I hope that never happens to you or anyone else again! That is just aweful!

Hi Tammi!
It has been several years but our trip at the beginning of October was the HOTTEST trip we have ever had to WDW! (and you can see by my siggie that we have been in June, July and August). It was miserable for us. I know the CMs said it was completely unusual to have temps hitting 103º index but it was HOT! BLEH! It also didn't help that the hours were shorter so you really couldn't avoid the heat as well as in the summer. I know we wouldn't do October again unless it was at the very end.
Just realized my siggy does NOT show the dates! LOL! Sorry Tammi!
We have been in January, March, June, July, August, October, November.

I'm so sorry you got sick on your trip - I'm sure Disney believe what you say but food poisoning is very serious for a restaurant and they have to make absolutely sure of the cause to make sure they can fix it. They've probably already checked out the chicken cooking process and made sure it's done properly - but it might turn out that you ate another shared ingredient at some point and if that's missed then other guests could get sick. Get some diet coke and fill the form in for all us future DDAers heading to Mama Melrose :goodvibes
Lynn and Dumby in alabama - so glad you liked my designs :goodvibes

Tammi67,
We were there Oct 1-9 & we decided while we were there that we probably won't go again the first part of Oct. It was HOT, HOT, HOT. The humidity was terrible too. I felt like it was August or something. We went last year the last week of Oct/first week of Nov & the temperature was much nicer.

I have to put a good word in for my DAWGS!!!! After watching GA win a close game at the end I watched BAMA beat TN and thought about you Triplefigs and knew you had to be happy. Then to top off the day LSU beat Auburn. It was a perfect College Football day. I was at Lake Harding with some girlfriends and was able to hang out with them and watch what I wanted to all day.......IT WAS GREAT.
Triplefigs ... I'm glad you had your reservation problems taken care of.
Weather ... We have been twice and July and there will never be a third time. Too hot for me. We went Jan 2nd for 4 days a couple of years ago and that is our set time from now one. The crowds are gone and the weather is great. Our next trip for Jan 2007 we are staying a week and the boys will only miss two days of school.
Bye for now.........gotta get the boys off to school.

Wow! Once again I am gone for a few days and all the drama unfolds!
Triplefigs, I am so glad that you got it worked out!!! This is why we always book through CRO- I am way to much of a control freak to let a TA handle anything for me.
I know I missed her, but Brendita, have a great trip!!!
This is my last post as we are leaving early tomorrow and I have a ton of stuff to do today (tried packing last night for 8 days and 3 people in 3 three suitcases- didn't work. Have to buy another one today  )
Remember to cheer our beloved White Sox (who are 2-0) to their first World Series title since 1917!
See ya'll when we get back (NO MORE DRAMA!!!!!) and send some pixie dust our way that we aren't affected by Wilma!

We were there October 5 thru October 8 and it was very, very hot and humid, and we're used to the humidity too. This was our 3rd trip in October and each time it has been sooo hot, we've decided next time we're going in January.

I was going to wait to see other peoples before I showed mine. But I guess I will take the opurtunity to brag. I made these for our trip last May. We had many people, including cast members ask where we got them. We all had one, but as you can see the pre-teen refused to cooperate.

Now that I went first I want to see some other ideas I can use on out upcoming trip for Halloween.
I've just joined, and wanted to respond to this old post. Hi Cujochurch! I was one of those asking you abt your shirts in May '04! I can't believe it! I went on this thread because we are going again in May '06 and I wanted ideas for shirts all b/c I saw you with your cool homemade shirts last year! I remember telling your husband how much I liked the shirts and asked where you bought them! I hope you don't mind but I'm going to try my hand at them, though I tried tye-dye with my daughter on a pillowcase a couple of years ago and it was a disaster. I ended up more tye-dyed than the pillowcase lol! Thanks so much for the info and pics! I'm fast becoming a DIS addict.

hey all -
has anyone gotten their photoimpact rebates from when we all ordered in July? I haven't gotten mine yet and am beginning to wonder
I know I some of you designs - I am working on them - I just had a busy weekend and am in a HUGE funk
I am exhausted - missing Disney and I think the worst thing is that Julia is turning 4 tomorrow
she just isn't my baby girl anymore and I just can't help but feel a little sad about how quickly she is growing!!! It really seems like just yesterday I held her as a tiny newborn in my arms!! I guess it also doesn't help that my sister always sends us hand me downs but her little one is petite and I waited for them and she sent them and now the age difference no longer poses the appropriate clothing sizes (they are just 9 months apart) so none of the hand me downs fit so I basically have no clothes for her - so now I have to go find time to shop this week - I work at my church and our priest is a horses behind and making my boss miserable which makes my fun part time job miserable - it is cold and rainy - I have no countdown timer to my next vacation because I don't know when it is...

Triplefigs: I'm so glad everything worked out. Here's hoping for a magical trip. AAA had problems with our Disneyland trip package, as well. They sent us 3 separate bills when we had paid the minute we booked. DH was on the phone with them like I'm not paying for the same trip 3 times no matter what your computer says.
Brendita: I hope when you get back your DH is behaving better. I hope your vacation goes great.

I know about those "post trip blues." I also know about not being happy at work and having a boss that makes things even more miserable.
My oldest just started kindergarten this year. I went through that sadness, and now it is more exciting, watching him learn how to read, ect. A whole new world is opening up for him.
Hope you feel better soon. And happy birthday to Julia!

I KNOW to well how that all feels, my DD is bigger than my sis DD which they are 6 mouths apart! But I can up you on the growing up thing. I taught my just 12 DD tp shave last week! Now you just have to feel better now, Julia is e-on's away from that. And if that wasn't enough, she asked if she could take down her kitty and puppie posters :( AND we cleaned "the toy" room and threw out most of her old toys! Barbies to Bratz to NONE! You just have to be happy Julia is still a lil girl!
The other stuff is minor and you will move past it fast... tired stinks and missing Disney is the worst fore sure...but hey make a countdown for something, anything and use it for now!

I'm the one who did the spray painted shirts w/the Mickey head and the Pooh stencil. I used the Tulip spray paints at Michael's - they are not tie die paints. They were really easy. My DD - 13 in a couple of weeks refused to wear Mickey or Pooh, but said she'd wear Tink - don't know if you saw the picture, but she LOVES it!! I was getting worried because before doing hers she was saying she didn't even want to wear Tink, but would do if just for me. Well, she loves her shirt and I think she'll wear it proudly in Disneyland. I don't know that she'll wear it elsewhere, but Tink is "cool" among teens.
If I can figure out how to link my photobucket pictures I will.

That can not be fun at all. Did you miss a day at the parks? Would you eat there again? I have PS there for the first time, never been, I know I won't be getting chicken parm :earseek:
We did miss one day. We missed on Columbus Day so it was probably a busy day to miss. We had scheduled to take a break from the parks on Thurs when we were going to the Halloween party. We just had to take it early & we went to the parks on Thursday morning for a couple of hours. It really messed up our PS because we changed the days we were planning on going to different parks. I would recommend making extra PS at different parks or resorts just in case you have to make changes. While we were there, it was very hard to get any PS.
I don't think I will eat there again just from the memories. It was some of the best food we had at WDW before it made us sick. I am sure it could happen anywhere. We were on the Fantasmic dinner package so it was a limited menu of choices. Also, it took us 2 hours to eat there which seemed way too long. Good Luck!

Kate, if it makes you feel any better, my "baby girl" turned 42 last week. It's 42 years of memories, and she had three babies of her own, which makes even more memories. As life goes on, it keeps on giving.
Now, don't everyone get too hopped up on Diet Coke and posting too much. I'm flying down to Norfolk tomorrow evening and then will board the MS Maasdam for a 10 night Caribbean cruise with my "baby girl" and my 37 year old "baby boy." Two other couples are sailing with us, too. That should help pass the time until my Disney trip in December (just 4 weeks after we get back). Keep the board going for me while I'm gone, but don't be TOO prolific!!!

Kate, I feel your pain. :) Ah kids...... :goodvibes :goodvibes
My bouncing baby boy is 35+. I really have to get out a calculator to figure out how old he is. It was just yesterday when he called me and told me "Mom, you have to stop saying you're only 39 like Jack Benny. I'm turning 30. You can no longer be 39."
So I told him, "Okay, why don't you turn 21 again!" Alas, it was not to be. :cheer2: :cheer2: My baby girl is 30 something. :rotfl:
Back OT, I've got to call my Dad and ask him what size t-shirt he and his wife are. I have to make him the shirt that says Even Mickey loves Tampa Bay. And his wife, Even Mickey loves the Eagles. :cheer2: :cheer2:
As far as the post Disney depression, the best thing for that is to plan another trip!!! What I need is a date!!!!
My favorite time to go is early May, but I don't know how it will go over to take my DGD out of school for a week so close to the end of school.... :hourglass
Oh well. nitey nite DDAs...... :cloud9:

I hope someone can help me with his. I just started to print my designs on the transfers. I'm using Printmaster and HP transfers. First, I looked at the design in the Preview mode, and everything looked OK. Second, I printed a test page in economy mode, and it looked OK too. Finally I got my transfer, printed it in the highest photo quality my printer could get, but then the last 1/2 inch (more or less) of the design wasn't printed. I printed a different design and the same thing happened. Now I have 2 transfers less, and still no shirts!! What am I doing wrong? :confused3

NEXT!
BINGO...
Just got in from airport, reading some posts and then hitting they hey. Will post more about our trip and post some pics on Wed.

Is it possible that when you printed in photo mode it created a border? I don't know, just guessing. :badpc: Good luck. :cheer2: The finished product is so worth the pain. :earboy2: Take it from someone who ruined a bunch of transfers!!!! :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

Maybe that's the problem. What I did is that I resized my designs and made them 1/2 inch smaller from the bottom and now I'm printing them OK. I have no idea of what's the reason, but this solved the problem. Now I'm 3 transfers short, one already missing from the beginning, and 2 that I ruined! I'll have to buy some more tomorrow. I find them quite expensive here in Mexico. They're like $22 usd for 12 light HP transfers, couldn't find dark transfers here. How much are these in the U.S.?

The light ones are not too expensive. Can't remember the price of them. The dark transfers sheets are like $10.00 for 5 sheets at Wal-Mart. The E-bay paper is great and a lot cheaper if you can buy it from e-bay. Good luck with your shirts. I have not started mine yet.

When you load your photos into photobucket you should see a list of three links under your image - copy and paste the bottom one (img) into your post and then your image will appear here. If you want us to click on a link to see it (good for massive images) then copy and paste the URL text from under the image. Hope this helps :goodvibes

My eldest DS is 12 and the younger about to turn 6. DH went through a phase of saying we should have another one and maybe get a girl - well I would have maybe been up for that a couple of years ago, but now I've turned 20 for the second time (do the math!) I'm worried about being too old. Also, we are now financially straight and having enjoyed our WDW holiday AND a lovely trip to the south of France I want more holidays!! :guilty: WDW was the first long-haul flight since our honeymoon (in fact our first holiday outside Europe since then too!) and I've really got the taste for travel! :smooth:
Maybe its his mid-life crisis? Having said that I've been belatedly sorting out photos and seeing those chubby little arms and legs...well......... ;)

She is adorable. I know how you feel as I have two teenage boys and a 5-year-old. I get teary eyed every year when they go back to school after the summer and also at birthdays. It seems like just yesterday I brought them home from the hospital. My DH says you have to let them grow up but it is sooo hard to let go. You have many more years to go yet. My oldest will graduate next year and I just can't stand the thought. My youngest will be 5 tomorrow.

Hi everyone.. :wave2:
I took a bit of time away from the boards after our trip. I got sick when I came home  ( at one point I lost my voice for a week) so that didn't help but also the after trip blues really hit.
Our trip was wonderful :teeth: although it went by way too quickly. We picked the girls up from school on Monday (Oct 3) and told them we had to bring some stuff to a golf course for my friend's work and we were just riding along to keep them company. (That's how we explained all the stuff covered up with a sheet in the back of the suv.) The girls didn't have a clue even when we stopped a a hotel in Georgia overnight. They really thought they had talked us in to stopping and going to Savannah the next day instead of home and school. :rolleyes1 In the morning we gave them the mother / daughter Pop Century shirts I had made. We had them read the back of the shirts (Mother and Daughter Disney World Trip October 2005) and it still took a few minutes to sink in.
Our shirts were a hit with the CM who checked us in to Pop Century. He had us showing the fronts and backs to other CMs (show front, turn around and show the back, at least 6 times) that he kept bringing out. :magnify: He then asked us to wait there a minute and then a whole group of CM's came out with a bucket filled with Pop Century Toys and key rings and disney candy etc. and balloons tied to it and they proclaimed us "Pop Century's Family of the Day." This was so special for the girls. Sarra said "Is this really happening. It feels like I'm dreaming." :jumping3:
The shirts were commented on many times while we were at Disney. Lots of people asked where we got them. I told them I had made them thanks to the help of all the great people on Dis Boards.
While we were CRTon October 5th in line for pictures with the Fairy Godmother the man standing near me commented that I must be from Dis Boards. I thought he'd seen the lime green ribbon on my backpack. But he said he hadn't even noticed that but recognized our shirts. LOL It wasn't until I later that I realized I was talking to Kevin (KMH1). :cool2: Alyssa is absolutely adorable btw. :cutie:
I just wanted to thank the great people on this thread for sharing all your photo editing knowledge. :flower2: Our shirts wouldn't have turned out so wonderfully if it hadn't been for you. Kate,
I do not like the growing up part either!!! My oldest will be 10 in December & I am having a hard time with it. She was a perfect baby, never had any terrible 2's...always been a good girl, helpful, considerate, sweet..well fast forward to 9 1/2 & she has gotten quite a little attitude on her. :rolleyes2 I know she wants to be independant but I want to hold on..I know, I know....
It was nice at Disneyworld because I loved watching her face when she saw the characters especially Cinderella, Mary Poppins, & Tigger. That face staring up at the characters was the same little face that stared in amazement when she was little...
It's hard to watch your babies grow up. But on the other hand thye begin to grow into amazing little people...I love my kids for their little personalities...9 dd is very committed in school, religious, & friendly. My 6 year old ds is lovable, thoughtful, & doing great in school...& my little one dd4 is fiesty, determined, & a do it your-selfer. All I can say is to enjoy them for who they are while they are ours. (they drive me bananas some times but they are my life).
Enjoy Julia's birthday today..don't be sad... :grouphug:

It is hard to let them grow up. My oldest turned 7, he thinks it's embarassing to be hugged by his mom in front of his school friends. :guilty: At least, I still get to hug him at home.

You had a big part of making our trip one our girls will remember and cherish for the rest of their lives. :cloud9: Even after the point (that is coming all too soon) that a trip with mom is not cool. :cloud9:

Well actually we got back late Sunday night. I had to read through nearly 50 pages to catch up before I posted. There are some amazing new designs and design techniques since we left on our totally awesome adventure. We wore several shirt designs and all got attention. Our tie dye Mickey shirts with our names on the front definately got the most attention. We had people stopping us constantly asking us where we got them. I wish that I had printed out the instructions because I had to explain how I made them dozens of times. We had many magical moments including being selected to be Grand Marshalls in the October 16th Boo To You Parade (8 PM). I met several disers over the course of our vacation including:
dan & jacqueline from England
ScootersMom
SteamBoat Marti and Mgkkgdm

It was a great trip and I will post a lengthy trip report soon.
Triplefigs we got a photo of Maleficient and her autograph. I will post when I find time to upload my photos.
We have been super busy since we got back as yesterday was my middle sons 8th birthday. If you ran into us at WDW you already knew that as he told anyone that would listen. :rotfl: I am planning a friend birthday party for him on Friday so lots to do. I promise to post pictures of our shirts and vacation in general. If anyone has pictures of us in the parade we would love to see them.

I just finished 11 shirts. I used 2 of J&N's designs, one of Kevin's and one that MinnieMouseMom personalized for me. They all turned out great!! Thanks again everybody. I have no idea on how to post pictures though. Now I'm just missing one for DS9. He loves soccer so I thought maybe someone could help me with this design. His name is Diego. We are going on our family trip Oct. 29th-Nov. 8th, 2005. I was thinking on a classic character like Mickey. No park in special, just WDW in general. Has anybody done something like this?
TIA,

I started downloading photos off my camera and I took over 400. It is going to take forever to get rid of all the red eye. The 2 yr old has red eye in virtually every picture. Anyway here are a couple of us in our tie dye shirts. We wore these on 2 different days and they had been washed before this photo. They washed very well, no fading or cracking.

The second picture was taken at the Shooting Arcade in Frontierland. We were walking out of the Country Store when a CM asked my 2 older boys to be part of the Shootout at high noon. They each got to shoot 25 times and each hit 15 targets. They each got a Magical Moments certificate, a badge (he gave the little guy one too) and he gave our family a fast pass to any ride in the park. We chose to use it on Buzz again.
I told you our trip was filled with Magical Moments. We were also given a Magical Moments certificate later that evening in Downtown Disney. Two CM's loved our shirts and presented us with a certificate for making our own magic. Very cool.

Edited to add: Here is a photo of the little guy with a tie dye face to match. You can also see the writing on the shirt.

I did sew all the mickeys on before I tie dyed. It took a long time.
We were in adventureland at around 6 PM as we were meeting other DiSers at the Tiki Fountains at 6:15. We were standing there when a CM in a dress shirt and pants approached us and made small talk. He said that he loved our costumes and asked if we would like to be in the Parade. We were so exicited. We could have chosen either parade but thought that the little guy would be more awake for the 8 PM parade. I think it was a combination of right place at the right time and having all of us in costumes. We were complimented on our costumes all night and posed for many pictures with other guests. It was a lot of fun.

I saw a group of Women getting off of It's a Small World on Oct. 21st MNSSHP around 9:00 p.m. I couldn't catch up to see who it was.
They were all wearing I believe the Haunted Mansion Design on Black T-shirts. And one of them was wearing a Green Mickey head on her fanny pack.
Okay who were you? :confused3 :teeth:
IT WAS ME!! I looked and looked the whole time we were at WDW and never saw another DISer :confused3 My DDs (27 and 19) will get a kick out of being called "women."

It has taken me three hours to get through all the posts I missed!! :earseek:
A quick report...
The Welcome, Foolish Mortals Ts were a hit to the CMs we met at the MNSSHP and to others at BWI who saw us getting ready to leave for the party.
The white T shirt I made with F&W logo and Spaceship Earth and the wineglass was also noticed. The best story about that shirt happened at Big River at the BoardWalk. We had stopped in there to sample their Octoberfest Beer (didn't seem to get enough at the F&W Festival that day, I guess :rotfl: ) and the manager there (Sean) asked if I was one of the presenters at the F&W Festival! When I said no, that I had made the shirt with the help of some talented friends who were designers, he said he was very impressed. He assumed it was a new logo for the Festival this year!
I cannot believe I never saw another DISer while we were there. The one time I thought I had found one of us, I got the funniest looks from the 9-10 members of their party wearing really awesome T shirts. Even though they weren't from this board, their designer should be on here!
Tammi -- the past few years I went to WDW at the beginning of the month and it was stinking hot. This year we went in the later part of the month and it was stinking hot. I think you ought to go when it is convenient for you to go. It will be hot no matter what!
Triplefigs -- glad your trip ended up being OK!

Dawn - sounds like you had a great trip - so glad your shirts went down well - they look really good in the photos. Cool that you got to meet Kevin and Amy too, it's so bizarre how the DDAs are now recognising each other just be a shirt design - and the odds of bumping into each other at WDW must actually be slim to none so the fact it keeps happening is very spooky... :goodvibes
Denise - I love the birthday design you made for Julia - sometimes the quick designs do turn out the best :Pinkbounc
Kate - I hope Julia's birthday went well and that she had a lovely day :bday:
Paul - I can't see the picture of you and DS?? Just a red square - i can see the others though :confused3 Glad you had a good trip

Great pics! Oh man do I know about that red eye thing! Every pic of DD... it's the blondes! What do you use to remove it? I haven't found an easy way yet.
I use the software that came with my hp digital camera to remove the red eye. It doesn't always work though, sometimes I get a big black spot and other times it leaves a white spot in the eye. I'd say it removes the red eye well about 70% of the time.
Disneyeveryyear Feel free to put as many Mickeys on as you like. My kids called them their hidden Mickey Shirts. I also highly suggest putting your first names on them. We were addressed by name all day and remembered by CM's. My dh took the oldest and youngest on the TTA while I took the middle son on the Tommorrowland Speedway. Later in the day we all went on Buzz together and the CM loading the ride recognized Chris and Nick and asked where Colby was as he was lagging behind. Then he was Hunter and me and asked where we had been earlier in the day. I was surprised that he remembered us.

Hi...someone asked me for the directions to make the shirts in my sig so here they are: (sorry if they've been posted on this thread already)
I think this was from the Family Fun magazine.
Supplies:
Squirt bottle (I used an almost empty glue bottle and just cleaned it out)
Flour
Water
Spray fabric paint
Mix the flour and water until it is the consistency of mustard and pour into bottle. Squeeze onto the shirt in whatever pattern you desire. Lay the shirt in the sun to dry. After the mixture has hardened completely spray with fabric paint then lay the shirt in the sun for paint to dry. When the paint has completely dried slowly peel away the flour/water mixture to reveal the pattern below.
I did this on a hot day at the end of September and by the evening we had all 7 shirts ready to go. I even added spray glitter for fabric after we peeled the flour mixture off. We got lots of comments from CMs and guests alike. The CM on the boat to and from Tom Sawyer Island loved them...he said, "OOOOHHHH I love those!!! I read about them in Family Fun and have been dying to make one!!!" I hope he did because they're so easy and fun and you just can't mess them up!
The magazine had a sunburst pattern I believe. We just wanted to make it more Disney-ish and decided to use Mickey's head. I just swirled the mixture around and around with some being straight and others being at angles. Little did I realize that DisneyQuest has that same pattern on the "Q" and the folders that you get your Photopass pictures in also have Mickey's head in that same swirl pattern. Pretty neat!!!

Here's the one we made for the whole family....16 of us! In every picture we took the pirate ship seemed to glow...it was pretty cool! The image came from a link from someone on this board and it said across the top "We're Off to Neverland" and we added our names and year to the bottom and added some stars and darkened up the background so it was more midnight blue than purple. We all dressed up as characters from Peter Pan for our party on the 11th, so it was fitting that our whole theme for the trip was "We're Off to Neverland".
On the day we wore the shirts, we passed Peter Pan leading the group from the Family Magic tour and he stopped everyone and leaned over to our 4 year old and said, "I LOVE your shirt....that's my home you know!" It was pretty neat.

I just thought of something......2 months from now my trip will be over...... :(
as someone in a post disney funk - let me tell you now to think about that yet - it will be upsetting enough focus on your trip!!!!

Marti I hope that you are feeling better soon too. I have the sore throat and cold thing starting. I guess that I should have expected it as It was in the 90's in Florida and we got snow yesterday here. How can a body adapt to that?

I've got to try this! Your family looks great. Such great smiles!

Very cool.
Deb
Edited to add: Here is a photo of the little guy with a tie dye face to match. You can also see the writing on the shirt.

Oh - Marti - I feel your pain!!
I had pneumonia a couple of years ago and it took a long time to feel normal again!! DH and I were out of town and I had a 104 fever and he took me to the hospital - I have never been so afraid of dying - there were times I just couldn't breathe! Plus my kids were home and I was so afraid they had it too!! If you want to see an inchoherent crazy woman!! Steve said I was actually delirious with the fever and really scared him! Of course it didn't help that the hospital took 3 hours to give me motrin for the fever - once they did - I was much better
I hope you are better soon and will sending you tons of :wizard: :wizard:

Hey,
I've been toying around with a design to put on a magnetic sheet for our room door or to put in the window. These could also be shirts, but I may have more shirts that my life expectancy if I keep it up! :teeth:
Disclaimer: I am not Kate, Denise, Ladylucca or any other of these talented people. These images are blurry in spots and I could definitely use tips on how to clean them up.
With that said, which one do you like better?

Wow, I wish life had a refresh button! That's a good idea about using one design on the front and one on the back. Less shirts! I may take the Multigenerational Reunion off so we could use the design on a different shirt for our summer trip. Commando would have to come off too, to balance it. Thanks again. I just love it.

Deb,
Only put one word in the title and then your message (make sure you have a copy of it). Then go back and edit the title.
2nd way is to put "test" in the title and then "test test" in the message. Then edit the title and the message both. I always copy my replies now because I've had the "system" eat my posts too much.

How did you do the two colored background?
I'm sorry if I didn't answer this sooner...I've been emailing the directions out to lots of DISers today! I just sprayed on the first color in the center of the design then immediately sprayed the second color around the first with some of the paint overlapping. You could also make the two colors swirl around each other like a more traditional tye dyed shirt. Start one in the middle and spray out in a circle leaving space for the second color to swirl out also. Did I explain that correctly???? Sorry! :confused3

First of all ROLL TIDE!!!! :wave2:
Second, I can't remember what brand the paints were. I found them at Michael's. They sell individual bottles of the spray paint and then I found a set of 4 and got that with my 40% off coupon.
And last but not least, actually that is Wendy...it was the first time we'd met her! She was on the walkway leading up to Exposition Hall which is to the right when you enter through the train station. Cruella was there also. We did meet Belle and the Beast in the garden in France though. Would you like to see the picture? Let me know!

If they are cotton or 50/50 they should work fine on a sweatshirt, especially if you're using the Ebay paper.

on that note - since it wasn't your AAA travel agent who screwed up the reservation but someone she works with who messed up - how ticked is she at them?
seriously - I would think that if I had a customer staying conceirge at the GF - I would be falling all over them and making sure they were happy - b/c it is no secret that isn't exactly the cheapest room on property and that if I wanted you to continue to trust me with your travel needs - I would make sure everything was perfect - so she has emergency surgery and it is out of her control and someone who was supposed to take care of it for her messes it up royally and since that person's DH is the boss - she really has no recourse -
my guess is that you are going to get some pretty good perks over this one b/c your original agent is pretty ticked!!!

That would be great, but at this point I'm just hoping for smooth sailing from here on out. It does horribly suck that the people who messed up are the "boss". Once we have the trip documents in hand, I will complain and write my letters. Not until then, though. And, yes, my AAA agent (who has been awesome) is devastated it got messed up, so afraid I'm going to leave her as a client. Let's face it, she's making some good money off us this trip!

It has been hours now and my report doesn't show up. I have even tried to post something short just to get on the board thinking I could edit in later, but still no luck. Any idea how to get around this?

Not sure if anyone answered this, but just in case, when this happens, go to your temp files and deleted them all. This will get rid of all those cookies that are making this happen. Then just sign in again fresh. That should work. :)

Hey,
I've been toying around with a design to put on a magnetic sheet for our room door or to put in the window. These could also be shirts, but I may have more shirts that my life expectancy if I keep it up! :teeth:
With that said, which one do you like better?
Please be kind!! I'm just trying to entertain myself, because I still have 39 days to go and I'm much too bouncy. :Pinkbounc
~~Lynn :flower: ~~
Lyn I love the first one - it's a great design :goodvibes
My3princes - those costumes are amazing - I just can't believe the lengths people go to on their costumes - I'm going to have to convince DH2B that next rip needs to fall a week earlier so we can go to one!
What is it with me and big loveable guys? (Hi, Paul! ). :rotfl: you guys crack me up every time! :rotfl:

Thanks. I cleared my cookies then totally shut down my computer, logged back in and posted a message titled testing with testing as the text. It worked, then I went back in and edited my message. I tried just posting a test message, but it didn't work until I cleared my cookies.

I use the software that came with my hp digital camera to remove the red eye. It doesn't always work though, sometimes I get a big black spot and other times it leaves a white spot in the eye. I'd say it removes the red eye well about 70% of the time.
Thanks DEB! I do the same and my results are the same as yours. Darn I was hoping you have a trick. I think I will start a post with this ? and see if anyone else has any ideas. THANKS!

K,its offical have been talking to myself way too much!!!
Just want to share... if you have a red eye problem with your pics go to this post below. I found a great program to edit pictures. Free 15 day trial too! It took 1 second to sign up and download and ONE CLICK to fix the red eye! AWESOME!
It also added frame in a click, it has a bunch of one click edits that could be used for tee shirt designs for someone who doesn't know photo programs too well... this is real easy! ENJOY!

Has anyone tried the iron-ons on a sweatshirts yet? We are going in December and I'm thinking we are going to nee them for the evening.
Hmmmm ,,,, i could try this new swirl Mickey spray paint thing instead ....
Lisa
I've put light shirt transfers onto sweatshirts (Hanes 50/50) before, and they work fine. You need to be a little extra careful that you don't overheat the shirt, because they do burn/melt a bit easier than a t-shirt. Also, don't be concerned about a color change when the shirt is still hot. It will be fine once it cools down. (I think this may happen with t-shirts, too, but I remember it more with the sweatshirts.)

Thanks for all the compliments. Many people here are great at designing T-shirts, I love to design halloween costumes. I already know what several of my family will be for next year. It is my passion. Thanks again

Yes, it is. And the kids first trip at all, and DH and my first trip back since our Disneymoon at the Poly 10 years ago! Quite a big adventure this time around!
Did you do a lot of research as to which concierge to do? Our next trip will be concierge level...still not a 100% sure which place to do. Was there anything specifically that made you chose the GF?

we just got home from Disney Princesses on Ice - it was so much fun - I highly reccomend you go if you can!!
Wasn't it great?! I scanned the audience for ya, but I think you were probably pretty far away from us, as the numbers were going. Hope you all had fun! Darby loved her shirt.... I'll post pictures later.

Hi all, sick central here. Matthew is feeling fantastic, he was the first to get sick, Sunday 10/16 after first MNSSHP, even went to walk-in center but they were closed so we stopped by Reedy Creek FD to have paramedic look at him. Marti is still sick as a dog, I think it was the EMH at MK on Wed(at park until midnight) followed by another 2 MNSSHP back to back(Thurs and Fri.) She went to Dr yesterday and is on medication and resting.
Hi Denise,
As soon as we are feeling alittle better we will post more and include some pics.

Yes, there was.
We are a family of 5 and wanted one room, so that immediately crossed off WL and AKL. Would have considered WL if we were a family of 4.
Since we are going at Christmas, we definitely wanted a resort that was really decorated well.
We also wanted Monorail access as 2 of my kids have Cerebral Palsy. That pretty much limited us to the CR, Poly, or GF. Poly we did on our honeymoon and loved, but it isn't very "Christmasy" to me. Between the CR and GF we had no problems choosing the GF because of location (1st monorail stop is MK and it's the 1st stop back on the boat from MK), awesome Christmas decorations, and now Sugar Loaf is full concierge at a much cheaper price!
Now, when the kids get older I'd like to try BWI or the YC/BC concierge. I've read incredible reports on those and their staff.
HTH!
