I've got a finger sucker so if you figure it out - let me know!!
Julia realized the week of her 2nd birthday - that I gave her her binky for two reasons - to stop her from crying and to put her to bed - so one day everytime I tried to give it to her - she threw it out - I never had a struggle with her - she was not willing to give up her tantrums for a binky!! :rotfl: Luckily - she doesn't REALLY know how to throw a good tantrum - although she is much better at them now then when she was 2!!!
Nick on the other hand came out sucking his middle and forefinger and hasn't stopped since
LOL I'll let you know. It's funny, I had a binky girl and a thumbsucker. With Kaelyn, after she turned 3, I had her throw the binky away. She was great from then on. Never fussed about it at all. With Stephanie, she knows not to suck her thumb, she'll hide it from us, or if you walk into a room, she'll pull her thumb out and look at us like a deer in headlights. :earseek: LOL So she knows she's not supposed to, but she still does it.

We're going to see the Wiggles tomorrow! I love them. The music is fun, and my kids adore them too. BTW, Anthony was looking pretty good last year when we went. :rotfl:
I wanted to take my kids when they were here in Sept. but it was the week of our beach vacation. I have heard great things about their show. Murray is my favorite.

It seems that a few people got an email saying that their signature was too big and they would have to change it. so Kate changed hers and if you copied off hers, your automatically changed as well

I'm so sad and happy at the same time. My Rees is the first tonight for a big, big event...
Notice something missing?

He doesn't care cause the Tooth Fairy is making her first appearance tonight! We had no idea it was that loose. Went to brush his teeth and it had obviously just come out. If I'd known, I would have gotten him a Disney Dollar from the tooth fairy to spend in 2 weeks. I'm so sad that my little boy is really growing up. His other bottom tooth is hanging on barely, so it'll be out soon. BK has one loose. Davis none, and he is MAD 'cause he wasn't first!
What a milestone. Nicholas is having a hard time because all of his friends have lost teeth and it's like his are glued in there.
Tammi67
11-19-2005, 01:17 AM
BTW, what is the going rate for a tooth?
In our circle it is $5 for the FIRST tooth, then $1-2 after that. Make sure the tooth fairy sprinkles pixie dust on his pillow, too.
Tammi67
11-19-2005, 01:20 AM
Ok, ok. Sad part is he didn't have a tooth to leave under the pillow. He was really bummed about that. We keep hoping we'll find it. I'm not losing the next one! BTW, for you experienced moms, did you save their teeth? I'm kind of sad we missed saving the first one.
My mother still has all of my baby teeth. I have know idea what she is planning on doing with them. When I was little she would tell me that she was going to make me a necklace out of all of them.

you are now linked to the new DDA logo but it has the name of the new logo - it used to be just dda now it is dda small so somehow the link was changed - did hunka hunka do it for you? otherwise - maybe the powers that be decided instead of sending emails to just adjust the logo for you?!? :confused3

what is the treatment for a broken rib?

I have a stupid question -
what is the treatment for a broken rib?
A wrap, like a huge ace bandage, around the ribs. My dad had a hairline crack in one a while back and he said it was extremely painful, because you can't immobilize it like an arm or leg.

not sure - just have a huge pain in my ribs - it is clearly my ribcage that is hurting - not the muscle or an internal organ - it isn't too bad during the day but at night I can't even lay down on that side - we had company in bed a couple of times this week and I am wondering if one of them kicked me while I was sleeping

Definately take a bunch of Advil or Motrin and try to sleep. What if you sleep in a recliner so that you're not flat? Will that help?

This is what happened to my dad. We were at Funland, (arcade, putt-putt, go carts, etc.) and someone ran into his go-cart. After that he complained about his side hurting (the side he got hit on). Well, a few days later, he sneezed really hard, and fell to the floor in pain. The crash must have started it but the sneeze actually finished off the break.

That's true, they aren't using the rib binders anymore because of impaired breathing (from less chest expansion), pneumonia, and other complications.

We have it. It is a cross between WDW's Magic Kingdom and DL's Magic Kingdom. The lands are WDW as are some rides. Other rides (Autopia and Tarzan's Tree House are two that come to mind) are from DL. Santa brought it last Christmas. We haven't played it for quite a while, but we enjoyed it.

Triplefigs - Congratulations to Rees on losing his first tooth! I hope the Tooth Fairy was good to him!! My mom used to leave silver dollars. I really believed in the TF because I'd never seen those before!
MinnieMouseMom and J & N's Mom - My mom got DS to stop sucking his fingers when he was 3. They were always in his mouth and his teeth were starting to be affected. PM me if you want to know what she did. It's a little mean, but he doesn't seem to be scarred for life :teeth:
Tinker1Bell - hope you had a Grrrrreeeeeeaaaaattttt! time as Tony the Tiger!
Marti - we've been throwing around the idea of spending Christmas at WDW. I just can't imagine not waking up in my home, with my tree on Christmas morning. I'd love to hear from others who have done it. Right now we're thinking about early December again.
Julia and Kevin - may the best man, or er princess win!
General comments/questions - I know the triplets are 5, but on average at what age do kids start losing their teeth? This is one aspect of childhood that totally freaks me out. I am scared of wiggly teeth  !
Speaking of wiggling - for those of you who like the Wiggles, or did like the Wiggles but your kids are a little too old for them, check out the Imagination Movers if they come to your area: http://www.imaginationmovers.com/website/index.php
I don't think they're touring right now because they're from New Orleans and were affected by Katrina, but they just did a show in Baton Rouge and they are awesome! It's a very high energy, fun show. I know they've toured before so I imagine they will again.
:cheer2: Geaux Tigers, Go Bucks, Roll Tide!! :cheer2:
Alyssa has been sucking her thumb since birth and in the past few months, she has also started playing with her belly button. I bought her a whole bunch of onesie turtlenecks, and she gets really frustrated, because she can't reach her bb, so usually I end up unsnapping them.
Last night, she had a category 3 meltdown when we were leaving the restaurant, because Kevin put her coat on, thus no access to bb.
Luckily, she sleeps through the night in her blanket sleepers, but as soon as she wakes up, I have to let her walk around with them unzipped, so she has bb access.
Anyone else have any experience with this?

I would gently discourage the belly button playing if I were you. I know from personal experience (and ds would kill me if he knew I was mentioning this) that it can get very annoying and be persistant. Same ds was a major thumbsucker by the way.

I think 5 is average. Some say if you get teeth early you lose them early. I can tell you that my DS cut his first tooth at 4 months and will turn 6 in 2 weeks. He has not lost a tooth yet. No signs that they are loosening either. There are quite a few kids in his Kindergarten class that have already lost a few teeth. Needless to say, he is quite discouraged.

be careful with the scpecial stuff -- my DS expect the same thing each time. :) I always got a half dollar coin when I was little. I ended up buying a roll of them --they're hidden away.

BTW, what is the going rate for a tooth?
We give Ben a $1 bill and the Kennedy half dollar. He can spend the $1 -- which he has been saving as "Mickey Money".

LOL I know there is a NH meeting for "The Mousef or Less" in Nashua the first weekend in Dec. I have been flipping back and forth on going ....
I never check out the Mouse for Less so I didn't know about the meet and would probably feel like a fish out of water.
As far as cordura fabric. I guess I can't picture it. Is it like courdoroy? I think that would be fine, if not call a fabric store and find out what materials make up cordura.

Hmmm ... not corduroy ... it's "backpack material" but not the nylon bac pack type. It's heavier -- usually waterproof ....
I think I'll check the straps ..... if it's the same fabric ... I can test it there ... without putting a hole in the pack itself. We rarely use that pack these days though ......

OK .. I have GOT to share this with other Mommies ......
My son (7.5) is a borderline nudist. My MIl is quite sure he will be later in life! Anyway ... he is constantly taking off his clothes when he is home. It drives my DH nuts. Me, I honesltly don't care. We have finally gotten it into him that *touching* is something private and needs to be in his bedroom.
Anyway ......
Moments ago, Ben walks into the living room ...
DH: Ben, where are your clothes?
Ben: Wait a minute, I'll bring them to you!
Now, perhaps you won't find this funny, but I am ROLLING here listening to his reply. You have to understand it wa NOT meant to be sassy. He was just being matter of fact. :)

Christian nearly lost his first tooth at WDW! he has 2 2nd teeth and one wobbly - the dentist said this is quite early and six is the average, but some don't lose till nearly 7!!
Christian is a bit wussy about wobbly teeth, and leaves them to work lose on their own, rarely wobbling them. Josef on the other hand, got his first wobbly tooth one morning then pulled it out in the bath that night :earseek: :faint: on hearing from DH that the tooth fairy would bring him £1. Did you wash them BEFORE you put the transfers on? T-shirts tend to shrink a little, so that could be why your transfer crinkled.

Does anyone have the Magic Kingdom board game? I'm considering getting it for DS's bday :cake: and am looking for some feedback first.
We have it! My DDs are 7 & 4 and they need help with it. I think it would be better for older kids. You basically draw cards of the different attractions that you have to visit. You have to figure out what is the quickest path and visit all of your attractions & get back to the main gate. I like it and it is great to remember your trip but my girls don't usually pick to play it. We love Disney Scene It. It is their favorite game. I am wondering about the Disney bingo game on DVD?

I have the Captain Feathersword and my kids could care less about it - it doesn't play right now - but I can check and see if that is b/c the batteries are dead - if it works - it is yours!!! The wiggles have it in their online shop http://www.thewigglesshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=259 - I figured the price with shipping to be about $17 - I also think I saw one at my target recently - I can check next time I am there

I'm going to be 43 when we celebrate at WDW in January... that's chronoligically. Internally I feel like I'm in my 20s
My mom (51) says the same thing! She was just telling me a few weeks ago that she wished she felt even half as young physically as she does internally. She just doesn't seem old enough to have a 29yo DD (oldest, me) and 3 grandkids. She is much more suited to being mom to a 9yo (surprise baby DSis).

Congratulations, Rees!!
Speaking of how much the tooth fairy leaves, I have a friend who learned her lesson about getting the money out before entering the dark room. Apparently the tooth fairy accidently left $20 one night. Her DS woke up the next morning exstatic that he would be getting $20 per tooth. :rotfl:

I have a hair appt. Tues. and I am getting ready to go back to my natural darker color. I do the foiling thing. I have it highlighted to cover the gray, but then I always have to go in for a root job. I don't know which is worse. Every few months I come home with a different color. I either get bored being light and go darker, or I get bored being dark and go lighter. But I do find that the dark lightens drastically with me in about 3 wks.

Well I think game night was a HUGE success - final score
Julia - 1
Kevin - 1
the rest of us - 0
we were playing a 3rd game however Kevin and Julia both exhibited unsportsmanlike behavior and the game was suspended -
Kevin believed the answer on the card to be wrong and felt Julia was unfairly awarded 3 spaces - he continued in the game but wanted us to know it was under protest
shortly thereafter - Julia declared her 10 or so space lead was enough to declare herself the winner - (at the time Kevin was in 3rd place) so I will have say that the evening ended in a tie
Julia greeted Kevin at the door and said "You were talking trash to me Kevin!!!" :rotfl:
Alyssa and Nick slowly learned how to co-exist during the evening - Amy told Julia that as they got older we could have sleep overs - I turned to see Nick and Alyssa kissing and hugging  - so maybe no sleepovers!! :rotfl:

My kids want to play all their friends in Scene It too because they can beat anyone. It would be fun to let DDA kids play each other.
Tammi, it has kids questions & adult questions. Even my 4 year old can answer alot of the adult questions. The clips are fun too & they have inspired us to watch Disney movies that we haven't seen before.

I just made Kevin pause Everwood so I could read your post to him and as soon as I got to "unsportsmanlike behavior," he yelled, "Hey!" He claims he will respond after his show is over.

I only saw the plate at MGM = they didn't sell it at DTD - it is a Mickey swirl plate - the crackers are placed in the swirl of the plate - you could always call Disney merchandising

Okay guys -- need advice. My DS6 is going to be the lead in his class's annual play. He's going to be Bearsie Bear. I just got a note yesterday that I need to find him brown warm-ups and "appropriate" shoes.
Well, I don't remember ever seeing brown children's warm-ups. I guess I could take white and try to dye them, but it would be difficult to get them dark enough brown, evenly without streaks. And as for shoes, what do I do? I pictured him in "bear" feet (sorry, been up since 5 a.m. this morning, running errands all day, so I am a little "goofy"), but I guess that would be kind of gross running around in the school without shoes.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Deb -- that is incredibly kind of you! Unfortunately, my son is nothing like me -- he's fairly small, and I think an 8 - 10 would be way too big. He wears a 6 slim. I wouldn't want him to step all over the bottom of it or catch it on something if it's too big. Could you describe what you made him and maybe I could get a local person to make me one?

:rotfl:
So glad you all got to have your game night! I"ll be there for round two .... but I don't trash talk very much, so tell Julia to take it easy on me! :rotfl:

I saw some brown children's warm-ups at our K-Mart a couple of days ago. They did not have many though. When my son was in a X'mas play I had to dye white ones and it actually came out real good. I used the Ritz die in the washing machine.
For shoes sometimes you can find house shoes that look like bear claws or that is what I think of when I see them.
Good luck. I am sure you will do a wonderful job with what ever you make.

UNSPORTSMANLIKE!?!?!? Is asking for an instant replay unsportsmanlike? Is requiring that trivia questions actually contain the correct answers unsportsmanlike? Is making sure the rules are followed correctly by all parties unsportsmanlike? No wonder Alyssa's first word upon entering the car to return home was "cheat." :rotfl:
Besides, I was on a roll when young Julia decided that game night was over. I was coming from behind and FAST! I will accept a tie, this time, but a rematch will be had.
Despite the controversy, it was a pleasant evening. And the amorous ones will have to be watched very closely as they grow up.
Now, it is obviously well past my usual bedtime so I must say, "Goodnight."

The really expensive teeth are the ones that need to be pulled by the dentist or surgically removed. Not only are you paying the dentist or surgeon to remove them but you gotta pay for the tooth fairy money too.
Kate, I have no idea about the finger sucking for nick. Although the first time I saw him doing that in your picture in your signature, it reminded me of one of my friends from college who still does that. :earseek: Always when she is concentrating or stressed both her middle and forefinger are in her mouth. I totally understand that. My Nick had 5 teeth pulled at once. Ouch!! not the teeth pulling, but paying the dentist and the tooth fairy. I our house pulled teeth seem to get a little more $$ then the ones that fall out on their own. I guess you could call it compensation for pain and suffering.

I have to tell you that my db's name is Kevin and his wife is Amy. My oldest son walked by the computer the other day and saw your signature with the names Kevin, Amy and Alyssa. He said "I didn't know that buddy is on the computer with you", but who is Alyssa :rotfl: I guess it is a small world. For future reference as Amy noted earlier that she is not pregnant yet, their kids are named Summer and Logan. Well I finally finished ironing all my T-shirts and my Disney Mom bag ! :smooth:
And we're now down to single digits on our trip countdown ! :cool1:
Most of the shirts turned out pretty well. I used Avery light (for white) and dark (for colors) transfers, and ironed them on top of my dryer.
My very first shirt transfer (light) got yellowed a bit at one edge because I went over it too much with the iron when I thought it wasn't sticking. And all the white shirts ended up with a few little dark fuzzies in them - wish I had read the note about using a lint brush! I didn't see any fuzz on them prior to ironing.
My Disney Mom bag initially turned out great - though the light transfers aren't as clear as the dark ones, plus the texture on the bag made it slightly fuzzier as well. But I of course couldn't leave well enough alone, and decided to add two more smaller images, and in the process must have touched the design with the iron and smudged it a bit - not too bad, but a bummer.
I used Kate's "Walt Disney World" with block lettering and the characters on the back of the bag and on the back of DS's white shirt.
I used Denise's "4 Parks" design (I just added the names of the parks to it) on white shirts for me, DH, and DS.
I tweaked someone's (Kate's?) "Dreaming of a Disney Christmas" Pooh design, and also included some of Kate's Disney ornaments, on a red shirt for DS.
I used Kate's Santa Mickey MVMCP 2005 design on a green shirt for DS.
I made a custom MVMCP design on a lime green shirt for myself - meant to put Kate's "Snow Lumpy" design on the back, but miscalculated and ran out of transfers!
I put my Disney Mom design on a navy blue shirt too, with that cool 3-D Mickey head with the clouds (can't recall who designed that one) on the back.
And I made a Pluto shirt to replace an old one I had that I always called my "Lusty Dog" shirt - since Pluto's tongue was hanging out! :goodvibes
I also put a Chip & Dale clip onto the pocket of a long sleeve maroon T-shirt.
You can see photos of most of the shirts and bag at my photosite:
http://cheriepenguin.photosite.com/DisneyShirts/
Busy, Busy, Busy now trying to finish getting ready for the trip and the holidays - so I haven't been able to keep up much on the boards anymore.
Thanks for all the cool designs and ideas ! Maybe I'll run into a few of you while at WDW !

Kate, Amy, Kevin, Alyssa, Nick and Julia - glad to know tonight was a big success. Hope you can make a lasting friendship out of this! Not sure what to call this - not really internet dating, but close.
We had a great trip! Everyone who had given me grief about matching t-shirts sure preened with all of the attention we received. When repeatedly asked where we got the t-shirts, everyone replied "we made them". Obviously this was a royal "we", because I don't remember anyone up tie-dying with me and DD, or ironing for an hour on end. Oh well, glad to know they were proud of them! I have packed them up into zippy bags for our trip next year. Have 3 already done, can think if we want to add any by then.
I think I saw one of the DDA designs on the TTA Tuesday, it was a large group, but I couldn't get close enough to ask them.
It's bedtime now, it took me almost 5 hours to get caught up, but glad all are feeling better now.

Thanks! My DD says it makes me look younger... I dunno, I just hope it lightens some!

:rotfl:
So fun! Sounds like you all had a blast!

I just got home from the Wiggles and Dinner......called my brother to find out about BAMA and AUBURN......AAAGGGGHHHH!!!! I can't believe Auburn beat ya'll. I would have much rather gone against BAMA in the SEC than Auburn. I just can't stand having to go up against them again. I know you must be bummed out over it but ya'll really did have a great season and something to be proud of. Pleeeeease tell me you are pulling for the DAWGS over Auburn in the SEC.
by the way...........How was your Wiggles show?? Ours was great.....Haley and Jake had matching Wiggles shirts and loved it.
Lynn
Unless LSU loses to Arkansas next week (and they shouldn't), LSU will be playing Georgia in the championship. The only reason they "look" behind Auburn when you see the standings on TV is because Auburn has played one more game than us. Things will even out next week.

Tell me more -- is it a DVD game? And boys like it too? Is it about the movies or the parks???
Scene It came out a few years ago. It's DVD game with a board component. The original had clips from various movies, whereas the Disney one obviously has Disney clips (very recent and also Old Yeller, Apple Dumpling Gang, etc (older Disney movies). They also now have TV (both general and certain TV series) the WB, Turner Classic Movies, Music, Sports, etc.
As far as the board goes, you can get trivia questions (off of included cards), or 'My Play' or 'All Play'. My Play is a clip from a movie and a question that follows (on the TV screen). All Play are usually word puzzles, rebuses, "who's missing from this picture", "ID the movie from these pictures", etc.... no clips involved.
There are a few more rules towards the end, but that's the general idea :rotfl:
We bought Scene It for my BIL a few years ago, and the entire family LOVES it! I think between a few of us we have about 6 of them.
www.sceneit.com is the website :)

Kevin, we're you going to bed like an hour ago?
I have to tell you that my db's name is Kevin and his wife is Amy. My oldest son walked by the computer the other day and saw your signature with the names Kevin, Amy and Alyssa. He said "I didn't know that buddy is on the computer with you", but who is Alyssa :rotfl: I guess it is a small world. For future reference as Amy noted earlier that she is not pregnant yet, their kids are named Summer and Logan. If you had another child and named him/her Summer or Logan you would totally confuse my son.

disneyeveryyear - Welcome back! we want pictures!!! Did you get to see any Christmas decorations/parades/etc before heading home? If so I'd love a preview. Even the THREE days we have left are too many.
cheriepenguin - your shirts look great. I had to come to the difficult decision yesterday that I simply wasn't going to be able to get our shirts done by Wednesday morning and returned my supplies in exchange for more Disney spending money. That just means I have a year to get them made for next year! :)
tink2020 - good luck with your exams! Get studying!!! You can do it!!!
itslisa - I'm with you, I'm dying to know what the disputed question was on game night.
Well, we just got back from the laundrymat. That crosses off the first of many things that have to be done before we leave on Wednesday morning. Terra and I are getting ready to pull out the suitcases so that we can put the clean clothes staight into them. If I don't, Terra will end up wearing them all before we leave. If you don't watch out, she'll change clothes 4 times a day. It wouldn't be too much of a problem is we didn't have to walk 1/2 mile to the laundrymat. We have our DVD of the parades playing in the background to be followed by Wishes, Illuminations and Fantasmic so we're psyched!

Is this something you made from a previous trip? Or something you purchased???
I bought a whole series of DVDs (all home videos, but pretty well done) from a guy off ebay. I think it was a total of about 15 DVDs and includes all 4 current parades plus the old Epcot Tapestry of Dreams, Wishes, Illuminations, a bunch of retired rides and several stage shows (mostly older ones). There is also a tour of DLParis and some other random things. Fantasmic is on a DVD that someone on the Mouseforless sent me when making me a copy of his Small World video for Terra. I also have a few DVDs that a friend made form VHS that has the Main Street Electrical Parade.
I would love to make more videos on this trip, but I don't think that will happen for a few more years. Since I almost always travel alone with Terra it doesn't leave much attention for filming as well. My goal is to do it when we take our big family trip (my whole family) in May 2007.

disneyeveryyear - Welcome back! we want pictures!!! Did you get to see any Christmas decorations/parades/etc before heading home? If so I'd love a preview. Even the THREE days we have left are too many.
Christmas was beginning to happen in quite a few different places.
MK - Christmas decorations are up on Main Street. I love the garland they use. As of right now, the main tree is set up down by the castle hub. We heard it was due to the parade, and other reasons, but it will supposedly be moved back to the train station circle soon. They are also playing Christmas carols on the Main Street speakers. The 3:00 parade is the regular snowglobe parade. I don't think they start doing the Christmas parade until MVMCP is finished.
EPCOT - Christmas decorations up in front of SP with poinsettias, etc. The walkway to WS is covered in lights. The entrance to WS has the big tree all lit and beautiful. Most of the countries don't have too much up yet for Christmas, but the American pavillion had the huge gingerbread house in the restaurant, and a tree outside. They were setting up for the CP when we were there Thursday night. Illuminations is as usual.
AK - Big tree out front with the beautiful animal ornaments. We saw Jingle Jangle Jungle Parade. It was fun to watch. Lots of Christmas carols being sung.
MGM - really decked out for Christmas. We were there Monday the 14th for the inaugural Holly Days Stars n Cars Motor Parade (or whatever it is called). It was really cute and very Christmassy. The big guy was even present in the last float. The Osobrne Festival of Lights also started on the 14th. We walked through it after Fantasmic and enjoyed it snowing in Floriday. DD6 saw Santa Goofy and Pluto back there. The park is also decorated with trees, etc.
We stayed at OKW, and it was midweek before we saw some garland go up on light poles, and the lobby still wasn't decorated when we left on Friday a.m. We ate at WCC in the WL on Sunday night and they weren't decorated yet either.
I am going to download some pictures so I'll be able to add some soon!

Thanks for the update! We can't wait. I do have to admit that I was disappointed that the parades were changing over so early. Terra's favorite parade is the Jammin' Jungle Parade. I was hoping that she would get to see the regular one the first few days that we are there and the Christmas one later in the week. Oh well, she likes the animal puppets most so those should at least be the same.
I'll look forward to seeing your pictures.

Did you wash them BEFORE you put the transfers on? T-shirts tend to shrink a little, so that could be why your transfer crinkled.
Yes, I washed and ireoned the T-shirts before I put the transfers on. They are only cheap Primark ones - £1.50 for Christian and £2.50 for Josef. perhaps I should buy dearer ones next time.

I spent 3 more hours outside putting up Christmas Decorations this afternoon. We had a beautiful day here, temps in the high 50s and the sun was shining. I still have some more decorations to put up outside and all the candles in the windows, but I took a few photos of what I've done so far.

If you click on them a larger photo comes up.
The third photo has a blow up Santa sitting on an igloo and the candy canes to either side, very blurry.
Some are blurry, I can't seem to not move when taking them. I guess I need a tripod. I will take better photos once I finish decorating.
Oh yeah, I also got all the bedrooms completely cleaned for the birthday party. I feel like I actually accomplished something today.

You were really busy today! It was a gorgeous day here with highs in the low 60s. Beautiful day, but I was inside making my Mom's recipe for Chex Snax Mix from the 1950s. One thing crossed of my holiday list. Oh, and I finished my Christmas shopping this week too! Now, on to the Scotch Shortbreads and then I am done with cooking for Christmas. Of course, our DDs are both coming home for Thanksgiving, so there will be that kind of cooking this week!

Well, we got our own board! We thought Kate was leaving, and Baloo may be taking a break.... because of said board, sort of. It really was kind of a whirlwind, potentially pointless, definitely unneccessary few days of drama. I'm sure you can find out more on this thread or the craft board, but we're not talking about it anymore :rotfl:
Denise's kids had surgery (replacing tubes in their ears) on Thursday. All three of them. Rees also lost a tooth.
Um.. some new designs were made. Kate, Amy and their families had a game night.
Virtually everyone was sick.
That's the gist of it..... anyone else, feel free to add

Looking forward to the pics! Thanks for the descriptions! I can just picture it all in my mind! I am so excited!!!!

I'll be back later. Busy weekend, but do you notice something new in my siggie? Looks like I'm having some luck with DH after all! :cool1:
Going Oct 18-22. Want to do MNSSHP one night This needs to be CHEAP (we're cancelling our summer trip to Hilton Head to save money). Thinking a wing room at the CR would work great. Any other suggestions for resorts? Would the BC/YC be great for SAB? I don't know if he'll go for the $$ though. I told him we'll have the tickets covered (they're left over from this trip). So it'll just be the room, food, and driving down.
Oh, and this opens me up for a whole new range of t-shirts! And costume ideas. Deb, bring on the ideas!

The Food and Wine Festival is also going on then and BC/YC would be ideal for walking into Epcot to sample the wares! A wing room in CR would be very convenient for MNSSHP, though. Decisions, decisions! How fun :teeth:

I do have a question for you all. We could go earlier (for value season) and the kids miss 3 full days of Kindergarten. Or go Oct 18-22 when the kids have 3 half-days for teacher conferences. That means I'd have to schedule their conferences for a different time.
Since they've never been in public school before, is it better to miss 3 full regular days or 3 half-days which means I'd mean the conferences? which ones would the teachers be happier I chose?

As a teacher... :goodvibes ... I would say they would probably rather you did not go at all! BUT, we know you will. Conferences can be rescheduled easily. So I would opt for those half days. Unless there is a terrific difference in price between Value Season and any specials they might be running.

It only costs me $200 for us to go in regular season vs value. I was thinking they wouldn't be doing as much those half days anyway. Just didn't know how big a deal parent conferences are.
Thanks!

At our schools they are important, but can be scheduled any time. I would ask around to see if any neighborhood friends have input about these. I agree that there would not be a lot going on those half days in kindergarten.
