DBF read recently that in the US, Coke is going to quit distributing Diet Vanilla Coke and Diet Coke with Lemon. We love Diet Vanilla Coke; it tastes like candy, and when we are low carbing, it is a treat! DBF is :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

I love Diet Vanilla Coke too! :( But, I also like the Splenda Diet Coke, so I'm not as sad as I could be. ;)

Duh .. .and I saw that one! Somehow ... my mind said "fantasmic" when I saw Mickey elevated. But you're right - definitely Spectro!
Just adding to my stress in making a decision?????? LOL

His fever is pretty low today and he is actually playing a little bit - he slept well through the night - although I did turn Toy Story2 on for him at one point!

The plan is to put them on a black shirt. I think the first design will be easier to cut out. On the 2nd, the frame is sort of jagged. I will never be able to cut it out right ... and I think it will look sort of odd if I just cut it straight ... KWIM?
What I did to get around one with that kinda frame, on a black shirt, is added a small black edge to the frame and then I cut around that. :) worked great! If you want me to add it to yurs, let me know! I haven't took pics of my shirts yet, not all done, but that one is done and came out great!

Yup! that definitely works! Do you happen to know how the words were added? It looks like some special coloring -- maybe it's just me???? I was thinking about personalizing it on the blank space on the bottom. (You can see I have been leaning toward this design all along!)
If it's nothing "special" I can probably add it.
I was thinking "A December To Remember" with 2005 (mouse ears) below it.
I am WORKING UP to adding text. LOL

I do not know what prgram they used for that test. See who's it is and ask. I use photoshop, most done. Text works differently in both. To add the black frame, just paint it where the white frame is now.

Or "Family is the heart of your story" Too long? I'm trying to think of something that keeps "story" as part of it. It would be better with the "is what" or "is who" though. Let me think some more...

Not sure her DH would wear one
Depending on how good a sport he is, you could do Grumpy with "here under protest" under it, or else maybe his favourite character with "Here because I love my family" on it. Or has Lady Lucca got a 7 dwarfs design that matches his job?
Love the Spectro design!!!
julia&nicksmom - glad Nick is a bit better. Christian has just dozed on and off for 2 hours, and is asking for his bath and bed. I'm trying to get him to eat a little and have a drink (containing medinol), then he can have his yukky antibiotics before bed. (Luckily they are 12-hourly, so only battling twice a day!) we use a plastic syringe to sort of squirt it in - along the side of the mouth so you don't choke the little dears! - so you don't have that juggling and spilling with the spoon bit. My mum says she wishes they'd had that when I was a kid then her carpet would have been a different colour

The only thing I can think of is "Family - the most important people in the world" but I'm afraid that is going to be too long.
Thanks so much guys!!! :goodvibes I love them all! I'm go to try and make one tonight! If it turns out okay I will post a pic. :goodvibes Thanks again. :flower:

[QUOTE=MazdaUK]Christian has just dozed on and off for 2 hours, and is asking for his bath and bed.
I was wandering why a little boy would ask for bath and bed in the middle of the afternoon. I forgot about the time difference.

Have you ever been on Busch Gardens safari ride?
We didn't get there. DS vetoed it for whatever reason. But we had NO problems with meeting characters. :) In fact leaving AK, it started to rain ... but Minnie. Mickey, and Donald were all signing autographs at the ticket booths! They were great!!!
Care to divulge your favorite spot? I think we were right at the beginning. We were right in front of a fruit cart.
I haven't been to Busch Gardens since the 80's, so I'm sure it's a little different now. ;)
Definitely go to Camp Minnie Mickey this time to see FOLK! It's by far one of our favorite shows at WDW. And like I said before, when there's a show in progress, that's the best time to see even more characters...Kenai and Koda are a hoot and Goofy and Pluto are usually there too (in addition to Mickey, Minnie, and Donald).
We watch the parade right outside of Africa near the Baby Care Center. You will see the CMs putting the tape down, and if there's no tape across the way, that means no one can sit on that side. We stake out our spots at about an hour before and take turns entertaining Alyssa. We have the soundtrack for this parade, so we know all the words, and we stand up and dance and have so much fun!!!
Amy :)

Possibly ;) We weren't supposed to go on our last trip either. We had one extra day before out flight (we flew in and out of Tampa because I wanted to go to a parade down there). Anyway, just after we arrived, Busch announce they would be giving park tickets to military and their families! We were planning to check out the Tampa Seaquarium ... but decided free tickets to Busch would be better!

I will wrangle his little arm! LOL Actually if I mention Kenai and Koda that may do it by itself!

Decisions .. decisions ....
OK ... DH and I can't choose!!!
I am making a shirt for our AK hop to MK day. We are stuck on the MK design. Since we are there for Spectro and Wishes -- I thought about a design for one or the other. I don't recall seeing a Spectro design ... so we're flipping between these two.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b148/DisneyTShirts/2wishes.jpg

Oh .. .and since this design is going on the front of the shirt .... I have my concerns that thos Mickey ears are going to land ... well .. you know where! I am amply endowed without accentuating the positve!
Oh .. .this is the design for the back:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c319/pxydust/tlbsafari0tm.jpg
Maybe I should flip them on put AK on the front and Wishes on the back?????? I'd probably get better character interaction with the AK design in the front, huh? Since we'll be at MK at night ...
Cut out the jagged edges with pinking shears.

happy to hear your little one is on the mend... mine are too, thankfully (we had some bad coughs, sore throats, etc here too)
hoping/praying that denise's troop does/did okay with their surgeries today... i can commisserate 'cause i had both of my kids tonsilectomies/adenoidectomies done on the same day about 4 years ago and it was a rough few days... but the end result was wonderful (their current sickness is the FIRST since they had it done!)
loving everyone's designs... really getting the itch/bug/fever for shirt making... i could never design but i am hoping i can print and iron! LOL! very excited to stumble upon $2.49 jerzees tees at michaels in a variety of colors... i only bought a dozen ;)

Hi, all! We got home about an hour ago. The kids did AWESOME!!!!! They were all so good, very brave, and very sweet. In fact, BK kept insisting the doctor forgot to fix her ears. They are watching videos and just ate McD's and Chick-fil-A.
They told everyone at the surgery center that we were going to Disney for the first time and flying. They are too excited. Oh, and the Anesthesiologist just got back from MNSSHP. He's a huge Disney fan too. He made me even more excited by telling me all about his trip.
Thanks for all the prayers, well wishes, and Pixie Dust. Now I can really focus on Thanksgiving and our trip. BTW, we will try to decorate the tree today.

can you or the designer share this one, please and thank you! :wizard:

That is not to say that DCL has gone by the wayside. Instead, we are looking at the 4-night cruise that leaves on Dec 4.
You can wear all those Christmas DCL shirts you helped me design!
This means we'll be at WDW on Sat, Dec 3 so we could actually meet the triplets (and their parents of course). We'll be the crazy people running around MGM looking for Triplefigs. Note to self... go back through this thread to see which shirts R, D and BK are wearing that day so we can spot the from afar.
I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to meet you in person. They are wearing these shirts. We are just doing MGM that day. Will get there around 10am. Lunch at Pizza Planet, ADR at PrimeTime at 5pm, then Fantasmic.

I am taking my two grandkids to the Wiggles this weekend and would love to make them a shirt. I know it is only a couple of days away so if nobody gets to I am just going to use the Disney Playhouse design that is on Kate's design thread. Just thought I would check.

You guys got itchy fingers or something? 18 pages in 18 hours!!!!
I gave up catching up after 804 :guilty: because Nick has somehow managed to give Christian the ear infection - perhaps its a computer virus :rotfl2: . The Doctor gave him some antibiotics: apparently the current "advice" is give Calpol and/or Neurofen for 3 days then give antibiotics if still bad. Luckily we have brilliant doctors who know what life is, so he followed it up with "if it gets worse start it sooner, if it was one of my kids I'd start it straight away" ;)
Hope Nick is feling better - Christian is lying on the sofa shivering under a blanket (this morning he said he wanted to wear shorts because he was too hot - he had a fever). He's very quiet -I bet if I pop in he'll be asleep! :)
Get well soon, Christian!

We are also going to the mall tonight. We are going to Picture People at Gwinnett Place Mall to get the boys pictures made. If my 11yr DS knew that I was calling him a "boy" he would have a fit. He calls himself a "preteen". I think he is going to take me on a testosterone roller coaster ride when his time comes.

I'm sorry the safari was unsatisfying...did you ride it first thing in the morning? The animals are much more active when it's cooler.
One of our favorite things to do is to visit all the characters in Camp Minnie Mickey while a FOLK show is going on...no lines and lots of character interaction!
Jammin Jungle Parade is also my favorite parade...we always sit where nobody is sitting across from us, and we get so much interaction.
Hopefully your next visit will be more desirable! :flower:
Good tips. And, give me specifics on where to sit! This will be our first time to AK.

You guys have been busy again. I hope that the triplets do well with their surgeries today. I keep thinking of the poor little ones having to go through that. Well, my baby is now offically 3. :faint: We let him open his presents this morning as we had 20 minutes where all 5 of us would be together today. I have to work tonight and tomorrow night. Tomorrow is DHs birthday. We gave Colby a couple of sets of GeoTrax so I spent 2 1/2 hours this morning engineering the tracks. He and nephew have been playing (well actually fighting, but what's new) with the trains. I can't believe how much they enjoy them. His room will have no floor space left between the sets he got or is getting for his birthday and the ones for Christmas. Good thing they make the elevation sets now, we can go up instead of out.

I know we won't. Bama and Auburn kick off at 3:30pm! Gotta get home and root for the Tide. Now you and Bengalbelle should both be yelling Roll Tide this week!
I will defenitely be yelling ROLL TIDE!!!!! Anything to keep Auburn away from the SEC!! GA doesn't play KY until 12:30 so that is why we probably won't get there until around 4pm. It is funny how we work our lives around kids and football.

Denise - just noticed that you're eating at 50s Prime Time - my absolute favorite Disney place to eat!! When you get there, ask for Anas Loukili. Tell him its your first time eating there with the kids and you were told by the Linetzky's in New York that he's the man. He'd remember us if you took a picture with you! But he's the best and will make your meal there quite memorable. When I can, I'll post a picture of Matt with Anas on Paul's birthday.

I have a dilemna that I hope you all will help me with. I received a birth announcement from a cousin that I have not spoken with in 3 years. She got mad about something I said or did, don't really know what, and held a grudge. The only contact I have with her is sending Christmas cards. We also send birthday gifts to each others sons, as she is Nicholas' Godmother, as I am her DS's. Truthfully, I don't know why we continue to do that. Our kids have no idea who we are, we never see them (live on opposite sides of the country). Anyway, would you send a gift for the birth, or simply a card? Half of me says send the gift just to prevent further rifting, but the other half says "why?" I could use some advice.

I vote for sending a gift just to take the high road. If she were just a friend i would say not but a cousin is family.

I would send a gift. I would forgive. It is the best thing to do. I would treat it as I would anyone else, forgetting the rift. Life is to short. Just do what you can on your end to be kind. Its for the baby and is not the baby's fault her Mom acted that way. Just My HO.

I would send something, but wouldn't go all out. I normally assume that when I get an announcement like that, I should send a little something.

Good, thanks for asking...hard to talk & alittle hard to catch a breath but on the mend.
But as you know "Mommy" can't be sick..too much to do! I had to take the 3 kids to school this am (DH had to go in to work early) & while I had 2 hours to myself (little one is still only in nursery school) I went to (bed? no!) AC Moore..they had a good sale on transfer paper & some other items I needed. I am making shirts & pillowcases for all my neices & nephews for Christmas.
Hopefully I can get the kids to bed before 7pm & then I can lie down.

OMG :earseek: Steffy and I work together and usually go out to lunch. Today she went a little crazy. As we were leaving the restaurant, she sees a car just like hers, same color, same year, everything. The antenna topper is a Mickey head with a Santa Hat. She proceeds to follow the car even going through TWO stop signs. When the car proceeded to sneak thru the one way to go to a fast food place, she thought she should not keep following. "What if she thinks I am stalking her?", she says. Ya think?? Of course how could the girl know that the car following her with a Disney license plate, gold ear antenna topper on the dash and two Mickeys hanging from the rear view mirror, AND the crazy driver waving her was not a stalker????
THIS is too funny!
Last post for now - I still have 25 pages to read.
Jennifer (tink2020) - I don't like this cold weather so I will be happy to blame you. Could you please request some warmer temps? Especially for Thanksgiving week? My thin TN blood doesn't like that Chicago cold. I do love this design though!

Mexican is my ultimate favorite, so of course I got the kids hooked. I'm just so dissapointed that the place at Mexico in Epcot gets such bad reviews. No Mexican during our trip. Boo hoo!

Whew, what a night!
First, Alyssa got car sick on the way to the mall. Luckily I did not have her in her photo outfit, but the poor thing gets so upset when she throws up. :sad1:
Then, we get to the mall and there is no Chick-fil-a!!! Unbelieveable...I've been craving this all day. So, I ended up splitting a kids meal with Alyssa from some generic place called Chick-n-Burger. Totally unsatisfying. :crazy2:
When we get to JCPenney, they are running very behind. A big family in front of us...lots of kids...lots of poses. After running a half hour late, they don't even buy any pictures! Claimed $3.99 a sheet was too expensive. Ridiculous. :sad2:
Anyway, by this point, my nephew (he's 2) has run out of good mood. My SIL and I got the kids' pictures taken together last year, and we thought it would be a neat tradition. He wasn't having it at all. Alyssa did cooperate for a couple poses, but then we had the nerve to change her outfit and that shot her mood too. Oh well, at least we didn't have a ton of poses to choose from, thus spending $$$$$$$$$$.
Kevin's sitting back watching the OC, and I'm off to find something more satisfying to eat. Congrats on post 12345!!!

Guess you can say ... I'm back! LOL Went out to a meeting tonight. It was just CRAZY. My fault ... somehow I got myself roped into making IDs! LOL
Now ... before you start thinking ill of me ...... they're for KIDS!
Ever seen those plastic ID cards they make for kids? A company came to my son's day care (a few years back) and we had a chance to buy them. The cost was like $10 for on and $9 for each additional! that was NUTS. The big deal was that it was hard plastic -- WHOOPIE! <insert sarcasm>
Anyway .. I created a file in Word to make them myself! Now, I can just update it whenever I want .. .and I can print out a copy for DH and each of our Mom's. Ben even carries one in his backpack -- just in case!
So ... the short of it is ... someone saw it in my wallet a few week's ago .. it was admired .... and well ... it lead to tonight and me bringing a camera .. a printer and an ink pad! LOL
We had SO many people show up!!!! We never have this many!!! The center is paying for the supplies - but I was not able to get it all done ... so I am going to have to work on them ... But ... I know how happy these Moms are going to be. They're all single Moms -- so money is aways tight.

I am also back from my mall experience. Our pictures did NOT turn out. It wasn't crowded....we were the only ones there.....no pressure......We get a beginner picture taker. We went to Picture People since I have heard some really good things about it. When the manager walked up to our sales/picture lady and asked...."have you been thru the picture taking training".....I should have know that was my clue to RUN!!! She was very nice but working with an 8yr old boy and an 11yr old boy you have to have some experience. We ended eating supper after the pictures in the food court to waste an hour just to go back and not purchase any pictures. They were really bad.....no sitting fee so I wasn't out any money. The sales lady felt really bad and offered to reschedule and have their picture taken by someone else. I told her it wasn't her fault not to worry about it. I did get a couple of Christmas presents bought so it wasn't all wasteful.

If anyone wants it -- it's just a Word doc. It's 2 pages. I print side 1 and then flip the paper over to print side 2. All you really have to do is fill in the blanks.
I used cold laminate (Wal-Mart_ for mine last tme -- but they fall apart when wet. I'm going to use the hot laminate this time. (Staples - $1 per page)

Their lemonade is to die for!!! And their brownies! Yeah, we were one of the "First 100". I think it's a national thing. Whenever a new free-standing Chik-Fil-A opens, they give away a years worth of combos (52 coupons per person, used however and whenever you want within the year) to the first 100 people. My mom, Kyle and I did it... we had a blast! We were there overnight, which is TOTALLY lame. But they had a concert, free massages (from those 10 mintue chair people at the mall), giveaways, free food throughout the night....
It wasn't nearly as dorky as it sounds. And for broke college kids (and the GREATEST chicken sandwich around), it was well worth it! :rotfl:

Anyway, by this point, my nephew (he's 2) has run out of good mood. My SIL and I got the kids' pictures taken together last year, and we thought it would be a neat tradition. He wasn't having it at all. Alyssa did cooperate for a couple poses, but then we had the nerve to change her outfit and that shot her mood too. Oh well, at least we didn't have a ton of poses to choose from, thus spending $$$$$$$$$$.
Kevin's sitting back watching the OC, and I'm off to find something more satisfying to eat. Congrats on post 12345!!!
Amy :)

It wasn't near as dorky as it sounds. And for broke college kids (and the GREATEST chicken sandwich around), it was well worth it! :rotfl:
Was this the one by the Voice of America plaza...that's the only free-standing restaurant I know of around here. Just so you know, Northgate Mall no longer has one...losers!!!!
I remember the advertising for that last year, but with Alyssa, you know, I had to be a responsible parent. :rotfl:

Get off the phone at 9:03 and find out it wasn't Tivo'd. Not DH's fault, I did tell him nevermind. But did I think I was going to be on the phone FOR AN HOUR????? NOOOOOOO. We had our DVR recording about 20 shows when we went to WDW in October. I was greedy, and I was also trying to tape the Ellen show each day and there simply wasn't enough space. Thus, it erased some of the shows from earlier in the week, and I was   I know it's only TV, but I needed something to help me cope with WDW withdrawal.

As for lamination or a laminator, last year I got one at Staples on Black Friday that was free after rebate. It is a hot laminator, it laminates up to 8 1/2 by 11 in paper. Would do longer if you can find the lamination for it. I got a pack of about 180 assorted lamination pieces at BJ's for $18.
Just something some of you might want to be on the lookout for Black Friday.

I was thinking about that when you guys first started talking - the only people allowed through security are those with boarding passes - they can come out to meet you and as long as they have a boarding pass they can go back through security - at our airport - that line can be up to 45 minutes long -
