Julia and Nicks Mom- Thank you so much! I wasn't expecting anyone to actually make something for me! That was such a kind thing to do! AND, it looks like a dream. I was going to use that phrase and a pic for a pillow case and try to design it, but now I don't have to! I'm going on a trip with 2 girl friends in November and I'm trying to come up with things I can put into a Disney bag for each one of them. I thought this would be a good idea. So..... THANK YOU for helping me in this endeavor. You are a sweetheart!
Now- one last question. Can I simply right click on the image you put into this thread to get a good full size copy of it, or do I need to go somewhere else for that?

I want to thank J&N's mom for the ornaments (and idea) and triplefigs for the palm tree Mickey idea. I took those two ideas and tweaked it to come up with this since we won't be in Disney for X-mas.

To whomever made the shirt and sprayed glitter on it while the transfer was still warm...... what kind of spray glitter did you use. I bought some at Walmart in the craft section, but not sure I have the right stuff. What I bought is labelled as extremely flammable and reco'd for uses on metal, glass, plastic, styrofoam, paper wrapping, ribbons, candles, etc. It is called Opalescent Spray Glitter and the company that makes it is Floracraft.
Did I buy the wrong thing? Advice please. I checked the design tips thread and couldn't find an answer to this question.
-Kate716
Hi Kate,
Just replying to your post again. I found the spray that you are talking about in Wal-mart and YES I think it should be same to use also. It says on the back of the can that it's fine for costumes. Clothes are costumes now-adays so I would think it's fine. The reason that it becomes flammable is due to being in an a can and under pressure around heat and flames and such. Personally I would try it.

I have an unusual request. I would like to add a pin trading design to my signature & I want to put it on the business (well, you can't really call it business) the fun cards I am taking to the September pin event. In some of the other forums (and on another board) they have a circle that says Pin Trader accross the top of the circle & their Dis name around the bottom of the circle (mine is Chaos Cent) and then a character in the middle, with a ribbon running through or around the circle. I would love something like that but don't know how to make it? Would someone mind making me even a blank one & I will add my name and put Figment in one & Eeyore in the other? Please, Thanks so much Penny :rolleyes1

Here is a picture of the tote I did for my DS (Halloween bag).
I used a canvas bag.
I think a cloth bag would be easier to work with.
I would not wash it as it gets out of shape.
A real pain to iron the wringles out.
Other than that.
No problems just press down more when ironing.

No I ordered them on-line.
I'm very happy with them.
Very good quality heavy weight Gildan, bright colors.
Very good prices, I paid $55.10 for 12 with shipping.
Received them in 1 week.
Only problem is you have to minium order 1 dozen.
You can mix sizes & colors.
Here is the web-site.

So glad to hear you are okay -
my parent's best friend's daughter lives in NO - they have a 4 year old (the same age as my Julia) and they evacuated on Saturday and have been told it will be at least 6 weeks before they can even think about going home - I couldn't even talk to her mom without crying
how do you explain that to a 4 year old - how do tell her she can't go home or see her toys - how does she ever recover from that - I just think about trying to explain something like this to Julia and I just can't - how do I explain to her that it is possible that a storm could come and take everything we have? she has seen the news and now she is petrified that a "tomato" (not too good at saying tornado yet) is going to come - which is what we were told to prepare for in Katrina's aftermath - she is ready to move into our basement!
You are all in our thoughts and prayers and if anyone needs anything - please let us know!!!

I second everything Kate said. My kids are petrified of the "tomatos" too. My family all is in MS, and my Brother and SIL will be without power for weeks... My brother owns a construction company. They just finished building the Hard Rock casino is Biloxi and now it is totally gone... My DH and I sat and watched all the coverage tonight and just cried. So many of our good friends and family live in the ravaged areas. I can't imagine how long it will take to even begin to recover. I'm just so sad at the moment. My kids are devastated and very worried about their Aunt and Uncle. I just pray for all those impacted so horribly.
Kate, tell your friends they're in our prayers. I can't even imagine how devastated they all must be.

Just made my first shirt and wanted some opinions on it. If there is anything that I should change please let me know. :goodvibes
We are going for my DS 5th birthday and our first MNSSHP. Thanks for any help. Keep up the great shirt making.

Only thing I would change is you spelled HALLOWEEN wrong.
Other than that I think it is really cool.
I like the lighting.
You mentioned your having trouble with your transfer peeling.
What brand are you using?

With all the post of t-shirts I myself have tryed my hand at this, my only problem is I can't seem to get it centered right in the front, how is everyone else doing that, I made a really pretty " haunted mansion " shirt, very off centered I could have swore it was straight, it was to far to the right  how is everyone else doing it ? Thank you

Lay it out on the table..
and lay tansfer on it.. place where you want it..
If your still having problems getting it center (looks center, but when your done and wearing its way off)
Try using a ruler.. I saw someone say have the top like 4 inches down from collar? and just use the ruler and make sure its the same on each side of the transfer.
messure at the top right/bottom right and top left/bottom left
Should be able to get it dead center then.
These are all so awesome, I love them all!
I was wondering if someone would do one for me( if you have time)?
There are 3 of us and we are going to Disney World this September( in 8 more days) and we are also going to Night of Joy! The names are Suzy, Darla, Sarah. And fav. are Fanstimic Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Chip and Dale. I love the ones with the see thru Mickey heads and with the castle( for the 50th) in it!
Thanks in advance, to anyone that could help me!

Stich design someone posted.
I did a little touch up, removed some text, added new text.
Can you tell my DS is love with Lilo & Stitch.
Hi Brendita. We will be staying at the Polynesian so I thought this "Aloha" Stitch design might be cute to use. Do you remember who posted the original design or on what page it might be found? I looked in the design gallery, but I keep seeing "image is temporarily unavailable" for many of the designs. I did a general search and it came back with nothing. Any help would be much appreciated. :flower:

I just answered my own question. I found the original design on page 19, but I have no idea how you took out the original text. Do you think you could post this design for me to look just like yours but without "Oct.". Could you make it say "Aloha from Walt Disney World November 2005? I would be so incredibly grateful! The damage and what it's going ot take to stabilize ,clean up and rebuild the Gulf Coast areas in AL,MS and LA is mind boggling.
If each person NOT touched by the hurricanes, the thousands that visit the DIS each day, just sent a dollar what a difference that could make! :goodvibes

Momof2OH and Shriva -- Thank you for the Dale Jr & Mickey (and cleaned up) design. I'm the one who asked for the cleaned up version. Can't wait to put that on a shirt and wear it to the NASCAR race at the TX Motor Speedway in November. Since we have several days of race tickets, I might need to print out the Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon shirts... just to drive my DH2B (and Earnhardt family fanatic) crazy!!
Brendita -- Love the DIS Mickey head on the sleeve. A subtle yet out-there way to announce you are a DISer (without committing to a shirt about it when there are so many other fun designs to wear!). Also, love the Halloween bag!! I have so many designs I like and have been wondering about printing them on a bag to lug my purchases around WDW this weekend. Might have to try that!

Wow being without power for 6 days I could only check email very sporadically when I found a friend willing to put up with us for a little while to escape the heat. It is amazing how many pages this has grown by. Anyway, Power is on! The rest of the damage is nothing when I see the horrible pictures on thenews. We were so lucky. I did not really actually see the damage much before because no TV and it really hit me how lucky we all are here in So Fla. Prayers to everyone out there affected by this hurricane.

[QUOTE=julia & nicks mom]
how do you explain that to a 4 year old - how do tell her she can't go home or see her toys - how does she ever recover from that - I just think about trying to explain something like this to Julia and I just can't - how do I explain to her that it is possible that a storm could come and take everything we have? she has seen the news and now she is petrified that a "tomato" (not too good at saying tornado yet) is going to come - which is what we were told to prepare for in Katrina's aftermath - she is ready to move into our basement!
QUOTE]
I can't imagine how to do that either. My girls are terrified of lightening because our house got struck by lightening in April. We were lucky that the wiring burned inside the walls but it did not catch on fire. My 7 year old has nightmares of our house burning down all of the time. I try to tell her that it is not going to happen but if it did God would take care of us. We were glad that hurricanes do not produce lightening for her sake because this is the 3rd to come by this year. The power this far inland is amazing & terrifying. I just hope that some good things will come out of this to bless all of the people that are suffering.

Kate --
While you and Julia are creating ornaments, would you please try to create Lady & the Tramp, as well as Marie from Aristocrats? I've always been a fan of the real-looking animals in the movies, I guess.
My boyfriend loves Mike from Monsters Inc (not that I've seen it), so I'd love to get an ornament like that, too.
Now to figure out what to do with the ornaments...maybe put them on a palm tree and print them out as holiday cards? Anyone have any other ideas what to do with such cute ornaments?
Thanks!

so I am not a big fan of putting the whole face on the ornament - i think it should be enough detail to know who it is but no so much that the whole character is there - what about one of these for kanga?

but then again - I am not the one wearing it! :rotfl:

Kate -- I agree with you re: the faces. The ornaments look really good with just the ears or some other defining feature, not the face. What about putting an apron on Kanga since I think she always has one on. Plus, if you have Kanga and/or Roo with at least Pooh (or another of Pooh's friends), then it will be more obvious who they are. What about Roo with Lumpy from The Heffalump Movie?! Maybe try putting the little red (or is it blue) t-shirt on Roo that he usually wears.
Triplefigs -- Thank you for the tree designs!! It's just my DH2B and I in our household right now, so I think it would look best if I have an ornament for he and I, then maybe two others (like Donald and Daisy) so the tree doesn't look bare.

Here in NE Louisiana we did not suffer any ill effects but our small town is rapidly filling with refugees. Last night local gas stations acually ran out of fuel and there were even a couple of fist fights.
Since we make our living as owners of a small trucking company I was worried about the high cost of and avalibility of fuel. Then I say a young couple parked in the truck stop in town with a little baby who looked so lost and beaten and I realized just how much I have to thank God for.
People need help. DD age 14 goes thru the house everynight since the storm looking for things to give away. These poeple have not only lost their homes and posessions but are also out of work with no paycheck for who knows how long. Our governor says it may be weeks before anyone can get back into New Orleans to even begin to put their lives back togeather. In the meantime they must be sheltered and feed. Our beautiful Lady, New Orleans with her lovely face and tarnished skirts will never be the same again. So much history, good and bad is now lost forever.

Love it!! But I have just one question.... do you ever sleep?????
Late at night when DH and the triplets are in bed is the only quiet time I get. I used to work night shift (I'm an RN), so my body clock just tends to keep me up at night. I'm going to be in trouble at WDW having to go to bed on time and get up bright and early!

I'm not going at Christmas, but how about a wreath of some sort with the ornaments on it. I think the proportions would be better than large onaments on a tree. Just an idea.
Deb
I can do that or resize the tree bigger or ornaments smaller.

Jennifer

He love the t-shirts & wants me to make him 1.
What does everyone think of this idea.
I going to try to get a group photo of us with Goofy.
Then have him autogragh a paper.
Then I will print the photo on the paper, scan it.
This way I can make a transfer.

That's a great idea. What about taking the blank shirt with you and having Goofy autograph the actual shirt with a permanent fabric pen? Just make sure he doesn't sign where you'll put the transfer. Ask him to sign something like "Sorry you couldn't come" etc.

You guys are great. I feel lost trying to catch up. I've been working fundraising for cheerleading almost every night for the last 2 weeks (glad its done) and now I'm trying to catch up on all the posts. The ornaments are too cute, you all are coming up with some great ones. Hopefully I'll get started on my shirts this weekend, I have to go get a few more since I have so many I want to make. Then hopefully I'll figure out how to post the pics.
Finally broke down and showed dd the cheerleading ones and she was too excited. I was trying to save them as a surpise but didn't have the will power, I just had to show her.
Just wanted to say keep up the great work.

Wow. I'm gone for a week at DL and over 50 pages appear and the thread moved. :earseek:
First, I want to thank J & N's mom for the design for my son's first birthday at Disneyland. The older 3 boys wore the first DL trip shirt and my baby boy wore the first birthday, first trip to Disneyland shirt. They looked cute. If i can figure it out I'll try to post a picture of the baby in his.
All the new Christmas designs look great and I would love to use some of those for when we go back to DL this Christmas. (I would love to go to WDW but DL's closer but we'll be back to WDW in 2 years for our 10 yr. anniversary)
I love the POC shirts and ironically enough that seemed to be 2 of my son's favorite ride at DL. They also loved eating at the Blue Bayou inside the ride. :teeth: I'll have to make that shirt for them.
My DH is already asking how many shirts I plan on making this time. He teased me the`whole trip because I kept talking about shirt ideas. And I get back and there's a POC and Splash Mtn. design. I just love this thread. :cloud9:

I know what you mean I can't open those threads,I peek but can't read them all.
I had an idea about the ornaments. :) I actually did this several years ago, well like 12 years ago,for Erich's room for his first Christmas .At the time you couldn't find Disney ornaments like you can now days. This was before I had a computer too.So I copied (well ex did for me at his work!) a bunch of pictures of characters we liked from coloring book. I painted the pictures, the color was more vivid than markers or crayons, then I laminated them to have Disney ornaments. I still have them and use them on our tree evey year.
I'm going to print some of these out ,laminate them then hang them on my tree.
Oh or you could use them as gift tags!!! :Pinkbounc
Also thought ,if I had the time about making some out of felt.
Or taking actual ball ornaments and making the features out of fun foam or felt.No that would be really cute! ::MickeyMo

I used the avery transfers the other day. When I put the shirt on a hanger a crack appeared at the top middle. I put the blank paper from the transfer back over the print and ironed a little longer and it sealed the crack and didn't crack again. See if that works for you, too.

Hi! Everyone,
I was wondering if any of you wouldn't mind helping me out with this. I'm having a Luau party for my daughter's b-day. I wanted to make her a birthday tshirt with Lilo and Stitch. I'd even pay to get it done since I'm really not good at these things. I could give it a try though.
My second question is instead of giving goodie bags, I found Lilo and Stitch beach towels for .80 ea. I was going to give those out. But the seller is in Australia, and don't know if they are trustworthy. So, I thought about tshirts for the tots, but I'm not sure if that will cost a lot, and it doesn't help being on a tight budget.
Any advice, help or whatever I'll take it. I'm desparate the party is Sept 25.

I did not wash the shirts before hand. I ironed on a pillowcase on my kitchen table. I may have ironed a little bit longer than recommended (I didn't time it). I did wash the shirts in cold and dried on medium heat a couple of hours after I finished them. And I washed/dried them inside out. Hope that helps!

What material is the shirt made of? I did my DD's iron-on with a 5% spandex shirt, which led to it cracking by the end of the night. I'd imagine that if your shirt has a higher spandex percentage that it would cause more cracking.
I'm going to try re-ironing her birthday shirt with the special paper in the transfer package to see if that will fix it.

Thanks Everyone! I also want to apoligize for posting and then leaving. As I was posting that Vikings shirt, my brother called me and was very upset. Isaac ended up having to be transported to Toledo Childrens Hosp. He was to upset to drive so I took him and just got home about 15mins ago. My SIL got there when I was leaving today. They wouldn't discharge her until this afternoon. She was upset because she couldn't go. Because Isaac was born 5 weeks early, his lungs havn't fully developed so they had to intibate (sp?) him last night and give him a medicine that goes directly to his lungs. Everything else seems to be fine so far (great color, other tests good), so he shouldn't be there long.
Yes I have made him several shirts and onesies, not a first timer one yet, but he will have one. We are already planning to all go June 07.

I did not wash the shirts before hand.As a rule whenever I'm going to do any transferring or painting on any fabric I always pre wash it. I don't know what the Avery transfers say but the Burlington and Photoworks both say to pre wash any material you plan on tranferring on to. It removes sizing or starch applied by the manufacture.Do not add fabric softener or bleach when prewashing. Do not add fabric softener sheets when drying.
I did wash the shirts in cold and dried on medium heat a couple of hours after I finished them. And I washed/dried them inside out.
This is more than likely what caused the cracking. You should let transfers or paint set or "cure" for at least 24 hrs,I usually don't wash mine for several day after I've done a shirt.
You should never dry t-shirts with homemade tranfers in the dryer completely.Maybe 10-15 minutes to get some of the wetness out then hang or lay flat to dry,I prefer hanging them on a hanger to dry, they get musty smelling if laying flat until they are complete dry.
I hope I helped you figure this out! :sunny:

Well thanks a lot everyone! I was all happy and content thinking that maybe I would just match my color shirt to DD's Disney shirts. Then I had to break down and take a look at the shirt threads and explore all of the designs. NOW I think I'm just going to have to make us matching shirts for each day. I started thinking just one or two, but there are so many great designs that I have theme ideas starting to match our plans!! :cool1:
I guess I'll have to put those two 50% off at AC Moore coupons to use and pick up transfer paper this weekend.
A couple of questions though.....
1. Are white shirts easier to work with or would color work well too?
2. Does it matter if you have laser or inkjet printer?
3. Can I just pull designs off of the thread and the gallery thread links or do I need to email the designer for the proper format/file size?
4. Do full sheet transfers look better for adults than smaller "breast pocket" size designs?
Thanks everyone!!! I can't wait to show off your work!

Poor baby......you just can't help but feel sorry for those little ones when they are so helpless. And not to mention Mom and Dad all upset. Hope he is up and crawling soon!!

Triple Figs is no help what so ever to my budget. She is now forcing me, against my will, to plan a Christmas trip so I can wear her beautiful WL Christmas shirt. :rotfl2:
Well it's down to the wire. I made my business cards with help from everyone here. :grouphug: :grouphug: I think I have 15 tshirt designs picked out for 7 days, again with much help from everyone here. :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: My green dis head with my dis name in it (I forget who did the green rainbow head, but thank you :cheer2: :cheer2: ) are 6 to a page and ready for printing. I have washed, folded and set aside 15 shirts so I can match the color with the design. I bought a tote bag from AC Moore so I can put the designs I am not using on my shirts on my tote bag. I bought a large box of transfers for white shirts & only bought 2 white shirts, so was fortunate to catch a sale 2 weeks ago in AC Moore for 1/2 price dark transfer sheets, their brand (which I hope works). Also used my 10% off educator's card, so I lucked out.
I am 1/2 way through double checking my tradeable pins to make sure they are organized in my usual neurotic way. I will finish updating my pin wants list by the end of the day. I will hopefully be packed and ready to go by the time I leave on Monday. Thanks everyone for all of your help. This has been fun.  :cheer2: :cheer2:  (most of the time :badpc: :badpc: ). I will post the shirts, if not before I leave, when I return. Thank you EVERYONE that I borrowed designs from. :goodvibes Penny

Hi! Everyone,
I was wondering if any of you wouldn't mind helping me out with this.
I'm desparate the party is Sept 25.:
I wasn't sure if you actually needed a design for a shirt, but I made one anyway just in case you needed one :flower: If you decide to use, I can also change the the "It's My Birthday!" to "Mary's" Birthday! if you let me know your daughters name. Or if there is anything else you want it to say other than what is there.

Took out the pics .. maybe this will help you add yours?
With photoshop you can post your pics over this one and then erace the extra parts with the history brush of the pics that don't fit?
I use photoshop 8..

And heres where i added half of a pic.. rest of baby mickey was hanging below, but eraced it with the history brush..

Gina,
My kiddos were in the NICU for 12 weeks and had Surfactant and were on the Ventilator and Oxygen. Prayers said for your nephew and family. Tell them to take it a day at a time. Please give them our best wishes for a quick NICU stay!

Hey all,
I'm way behind, but has there been a Stitch Ornament? If not, anyone willing to give it a try? Thanks. All the designs are great and I'm so jealous because all my tshirt money is going into my gas tank! Our prayers and thoughts are with those suffering after Katrina. We've been through several hurricanes (I lived in Charleston during Hugo), but nothing compares with the things y'all are going through.

I know this is a Disney board.. But are we allowed to start a non-disney thread for making non-disney transfers?
IE: blues clues..ect
Or should i look for a diffrent board altogether for that?

I borrowed N&J's Mom's Idea about printing out pages for the different characters to sign on 4X6 cards. :goodvibes I printed out 55 different characters + 10 blank cards times 2 for DD and my friend's DD. I was just looking them over and putting them in alphabetical order to more easily find the characters when we need them in the parks. And I noticed... I transposed the o and t in October. :sad2: Of course since I just cut and paste the words it's on EVERY card.
I'm debating whether to buy more 4X6 cards and reprinting them all *sigh* or just leaving them and hoping no one notices..I sure didn't! :confused3
What would you do?

I'd probably just leave it ('cause I'm a cheapskate) but could you just print on the backs of these? That way you're only out the extra ink? Or did you already double-side them?

I would just get some small stickers, perhaps address labels and only reprint the word October. Then stick over the misspelled word and voila fixed.

Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and prayers. He is doing much better today :) They removed the ventilator last night and is only getting 27% oxygen now, so things are looking much better. Boy, does he have a temper though. He hates to be messed with and now that the vent is out, he lets you know. But that crying is the best sound in the world. :)

I don't have a problem with it,if you want to start a NEW thread with it and the designers don't mind. :flower:

When i open it in photo shop.. Its showing it as not having a background at all.. its transparent.
When you started it did you fill in the background as white?

I use a prehistoric photo software called Picture It Publishing and all of the backgrounds default white so I am not sure what you need to do in photo shop sorry.

No what i'm saying is.. The background may LOOK white to you.. it does in photoshop too when you create a pic.. but its not really.
You have to fill it in white before you start..
Though for transfers it shouldn't matter.. the transparent part will just be the color of the shirt

Okay, I LOVE these shirts. I downloaded your template for the "postcard" one. I havebeen successful in removing your text and adding my own families names and vacation dates, but I can't figure out how to add my own pictures inside the letters. Any help?? I do have Photoshop 7.
Best way to do this is to use masks.
You can create an image mask with the 'Disney' text layer. Then you would insert your photos behind the newly created mask layer.
I know there's a lot more to explaining it, but it's probably best if you just go to the manual to understand how to use masks. Once you learn how it works you can do a lot of interesting things.
Sorry, but I can't think of a good way to explain all of the steps without making a mess of it all.
