I have a request that perhaps Momof2 could do, but it's up for grabs if anyone else would like to try. My DM and a group of her coworkers does a pool for each Nascar Race. Her driver is Kasey Kane (is that spelled right?). I would love a shirt that says "Even Mickey Loves Kasey Kane" with Mickey in a race car. I'm not into racing so I don't know the team colors (are there such a thing). I'd love to see what you all come up with. I know that she would be so happy to have a shirt for their little competition. Thanks in advance.

Paul - cute :goodvibes story. Get up this morning, grab my coffee, check this site (as usaual  ). scrolling down, looking at all the beautiful work. See yours, hit the first one and start checking them out. I get to the Germany one and see Oma & Opa. Now I had never heard these words used until about 4 years ago when my boss at the time had a DGD. He told me he was going to be an Opa? I had no idea what that was. He explained it to me. I have never heard anyone but him use it. Lo & behold, there it was again. I emailed him the picture. He has never been to DW but told me he would be taking his grand daughter when she got a little older. In the email I offered to redo the shirt for him saying Oma & Opa are taking me to see mickey.
Anyway wanted to share. I love your other shirt ideas also. :cheer2:

Penny,

Years ago when our one good friend had her children calling her parents Oma & Opa, I thought since my grandparents were german and my DH parents are Pennsylvania Dutch at heart, I wanted our kids to call my DH parents Oma & Opa. My parents are Oma and Opa to my DD and DS. When DFIL told his coworkers about this, they thought he should be called "Oom-pa-pa." He decided to go with Pop-Pop instead!

Anyway, it's nice to hear about other Omas and Opas out there. When I was little, I was the only child I knew with Omas.

I have 3 design requests, please. I don't have a specific designer in mind, so any/everyone who would like to give this a try, please do. I've held off making requests because I don't really know what I want the shirts to say, so all of you creative people feel free to help me out :)

All of these designs would be for a 4 year old boy.

1. I don't have a clue what I want the shirt to say, but I'd love a design with this clipart. Thanks rosiejo for posting it. My DS will love it!!

2. I'd also like a design with the green army men from Toy Story. Again, have no clue what I'd like it to say.

3. Finally, I'm looking for a design for the Pirate Cruise out of the Grand Floridian. I've seen several on this thread that I like/love, just wanted to see if there are any other creative ideas out there.

Hi:

We'll I leave for vacation for two weeks and this page was at 180 and now it's at 260.....WOW. I'll post my pictures as soon as I develop them, but I have to say, we really did not get any comments on the t-shirts which was very disappointing with all the work. We wore heigh-ho ones on Jet blue and again at AK, not one person noticed. We wore I love mickey shirts to chef mickey - not one comment - we wore princess shirts to CRT and one person commented that day and she was the tour guide on the Jungle Cruise.....

But at least I had fun with the shirts.

Can anyone tell me who made this princess design? It says Princess Nyla on top & it has a little girl's picture in the middle of the 6 princess with a purple heart border around it.

I saved it on 8/16 and I scrolled through all of the pages and I could not find it again. :confused3 I also could not find it on the design thread. I would love to have my girls pictures in there but I was not sure who to ask.

I have been quietly watching since almost the beginning & trying to design with no luck. :badpc: I have quickly become a DDA and all of my family think I am insane! :crazy2: But it is so much fun & there are so many creative & talented people.

Thanks for any help! 6 weeks left to pick & print shirts!!! Yea!!!

My DS will love it!!

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a60/r0siej0/racingcar.jpg

Did I scare everyone away :(? Do I have any takers?

But at least I had fun with the shirts.

oh :sad2: :sad1:

Well post your pics and we'll tell you how great they look - and we know what we're talking about... some people just don't know creative genius when they see it... :rolleyes1

To whomever made the shirt and sprayed glitter on it while the transfer was still warm...... what kind of spray glitter did you use. I bought some at Walmart in the craft section, but not sure I have the right stuff. What I bought is labelled as extremely flammable and reco'd for uses on metal, glass, plastic, styrofoam, paper wrapping, ribbons, candles, etc. It is called Opalescent Spray Glitter and the company that makes it is Floracraft.

Did I buy the wrong thing? Advice please. I checked the design tips thread and couldn't find an answer to this question.

Hi Kate... that was me that was mentioning about the product. It's by a company called TULIP and it's called Sparkle Spray. This was bought at Wal-Mart in the craft department. It's in a spray bottle that is about 5 inches high. On the back it says not to use it on "infant" clothes. Also this stuff washes off the clothes after many washes. The product that you have I'm not sure of using. Does it say anything about using it on clothes?? Do a trial test on some fabric. Let me know if you need any more help, or if you want me to send you out a bottle from our walmart.

Since I am going with a group of girlfriends for the Food and Wine Festival, and love more of these designs than I want to use on t-shirts, I am thinking of doing just one t shirt for each of my friends (actually will probably do oversized t and make it a sleep shirt) and then use another design for aprons or tea towels(since we are celebrating food!), and another one for small tote bags. If I have time,I might also print a design on a bookmark or fridge magnet, too. Have even considered having someone paint a wine glass for everyone using one of the more simple designs but not sure I'll get around to that! So many designs, so little time!

I don't feel like I have a lot to add to this thread but I love reading it and seeing what everyone is doing. As soon as i can figure out how to work the digital camera and computer connections, I will post the shirts I have made.

I am a reading teacher and would like any ideas you have for my bulletin board or door.

Thanks

hit alt print screen - then go into a paint or program that you can paste photos into - then paste (you saved a picture of your screen when you hit alt-print screen) then you can erase everything but the image and save it as a jpeg - pm me if you need help

Sorry I should have made myself clearer.
DS wants a background.
Something for Halloween.

OK all I'm sorry DS didn't make it clear.
He wanted a Halloween frame.
I was talking to him this morning about it.
So he says here Mom I'll show you.
So he shows me a Halloween frame in my Photo Shop.
I didn't even know I had it.
DS even showed me how to make effects on text.
Now he shows me after I finish all the transfers.
So here is the design I made for DS Halloween bag.

We had 3 families with 10 total kids that went to Disneyland last April. We ordered 3 sets of bright colored shirts from an online blank shirt company. On one set, we spelled out disneyland on the backs i.e. one child was D, one was I, one was S, etc. On the front we simply put who their favorite character was using puffy paint. On the next set, we made a iron on with Goofy clip art that said, "just Goofin' around". On the third set, we had each child as a particular character from snow white. Our total cost per shirt was about $4.50, including the iron ons & paint. It was sooooo easy to keep track of the kids this way. Good luck! :earsgirl:

If he would pull himself away from the gameboy long enough.
He could have done all of them.
I ended up using 12 different designs for t-shirts.
Have some more designs I would like to use.

Nothing about coated or matte coated.

Thanks for the reply! :)

3279 is the matte coated and is more expensive (18.00 for 5 vs. 3.00 for 10) on the Avery site. I'll have to call them tomorrow and find out the difference (the other one probably shows up shinier). I have a feeling though we'll go with the matte as dh usually prefers matte when printing.

I can't tell you how long I've been reading this thread! We went away for the weekend and my DH was like -- It's time to GO! LOL I wanted "just one more page!" LOL

These designs are just amazing!!! I did some saving as I was reading ... but now how am I going to know who created each design to go back and ask for help in personalizing it???

Also, I have photoshop Elements ... think I'll be able to use that for some of the stuff?

I LOVE making t-shirt transfers. I did it for my son's birthday party a couple of years ago -- instead of goodie bags. And did it last year for his kindegarten graduation! His teacher and I had quite the ironing session!

Too many designs to choose from -- what a dilemna! :earseek:

I love everyone's designs!! Coming to this thread every day is my new hobby. Just got back from Target buying t-shirts and iron-on transfer paper. Can't wait to try this out!

Do the images with gold backgrounds turn out gold and shiny like they are supposed to when you print them on iron-on transfer paper? I got the kind of paper for dark shirts since I don't want the color of the shirt to show through the design. But I'm not sure if my printer will make the gold background. Advice please!

Also, has anyone found that a certain brand of printer works better than others for printing out on iron-on transfer paper?

Thanks!

Julie & Nick's mom has a design that I have been wanting to do from the beginning of this thread. My girls will wear it on the flight to WDW.
It is the one that says 'Time to go get on the plane' at the top...Mickey and Minnie in a plane in the middle of the shirt....'see you at Disney World' at the bottom. Sorry I can't post it, I don't know how.

For those of you who have already made some shirts, here is my question....the design has a lot of 'open' space. It isn't one that is a square design the size of the transfer paper.

How will the transfer turn out?? Won't it have a lot of transfer material in the middle without ink? I could cut around it and place the design on the shirt in pieces?

If you did it on a white shirts the regular shirt color would show through. Otherwise you'd either have a bunch of white space or you'd have to cut around it and piece it together.

We used Burlington Printworks Premium T-shirt transfer paper. Got it at Best Buy for $10.49 for 5 sheets. Probably not the "best buy" I could've gotten but it turned out to be great paper. No need to mirror/reverse the images. All in all, we are very pleased with our first attempt to make shirts.

First- does anyone know where the song "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" comes from? I can't for the life of me remember!! Second- I'd be looking for some clip art from that movie- especially if it has anything to do with sleeping, pillow a bed etc. Can anyone help me with that?

I want to thank J&N's mom for the ornaments (and idea) and triplefigs for the palm tree Mickey idea. I took those two ideas and tweaked it to come up with this since we won't be in Disney for X-mas.
