Wow I think I have a tear rolling down my cheek. *Questioning Sexuality Again* :goodvibes OK back, you ladies sure do know how to make a father proud.
We know she's beutifull, but it's really cool hearing other people say it.
I do think I'm creating a KAA shirt though that says, "What are you thssstaring at?" This way it can be taken any way the viewer wants.
The "thssstaring" is suppose to be like a hiss, so any help on how that would be spelled would be appreciated.
I look forward to posting our Fastpass pictures, but think I might be spending a small fortune.
I like the KAA idea... and I think the hiss is right the way you spelled it. Did you see the one a few pages back that Paul did that says "are you staring at me?" and it is goofy with the huge binoculars? It looks great on a shirt -- sometimes the graphics look even better when you put them on the fabric. Good luck with the shirt. Both Paul and I have a dark sense of humor. One of the shirts he is wearing to the MNSSHP is one that says: "what were you expecting, Cinderella?? " (btw, Paul is a 300 pound man, making the statement a little funnier!).
Glad you like this thread -- we're all pretty fond of it. And yes, your daughter is gorgeous. I would be a proud parent!!

She is absolutely adorable! And she reminds me a lot of my dd when she was that age. Be careful, don't blink too long or you will have a 12 year old! I'm not sure where that time went somedays.
Triplefigs--your three are absolutely adorable, too. The boys look a little like one of my younger ds's friends (he's 6), and I can see that boy turning into a "piggy bank" too! Sometime, I'll tell you about the time my dd stuck an unpopped popcorn kernel in her ear...what are they thinking?!?!

I read this post and was a little confused! Then I looked at the pictures. I had never noticed the crutches before.
I have to say I never noticed them either until machntosh posted, then had to look twice because I didn't even notice them the first time.

I am very new to PhotoImpact and I'm just trying to learn how to use it, but I made this design for a poster for my daughters wall. She loved it.

Oh, I meant making the Cruise designs. Actually physically making a shirt? I'll probably not end up making any cause I'm too scared to try! All those designs, and I'll be walking around WDW seeing other people in my shirts while I'm wearing the generic store bought ones!
Don't you dare Denise! Be brave and make some of your shirts - although if Kate is back before your trip you could always ask her to iron them on for you - she's had enough practice :rolleyes1

Since Kevin still hasn't posted any pictures, I will link you all to our photopass account: http://disneyphotopass.go.com/DPI/r.d?i=244401075
Other highlights include Alyssa's first haircut at the Magic Kingdom Barbershop, over $900 worth of free food, including five character meals, the Disney Visa Epcot meet and greet, awesome interaction during the Jammin Jungle Parade and Stars and Motor Cars Parade, meeting Figment at Epcot...oh, I could go on and on! :wizard:
Amy :)
Wow! Amy your photos are awesome - Alyssa is a real sweetie! Tell us more about your highlights - were they as a result of your matching DDA tees or your absolutely adorable daughter?

BUT- I find it necessary to make a comment about Minnie-. Now.... I don't want to be a gossip or anything like that, but for someone that is supposed to be so fashionable- she needs to check out her Halloween get up. That mask she wears makes her look crosseyed! Should we be tru friends??? Gosh- what would a true firend do? Would they tell her, or just overlook it and focus on her inner beauty?!!?!? Truely the dilemma for the day, don't ya think???? ;)
:rotfl: that's just what I thought - what was she thinking when she bought that dress!! :rotfl:

I have to agree with everyone else. I had to look to see the crutches. She is beautiful and that is definately what stands out in the photos, not her disablity. Maybe some people are just mesmerized by her beauty and don't stare at the crutches. Maybe you could make her a shirt with something about staring at her beauty rather than her disability.

Another agree-er here as well as to the beauty of the children. I'm sorry you have to endure the insensitivities of others. It must be very frustrating.
Please excuse my ignorance of CP, and if I may, I would like to ask a question. Both of you said the CP was caused because of premature delivery. How does that effect the body? It is because the nervous system is not fully developed? Denise, your children's does not appear to be as severe. Is this something that will then dissipate as they age, and does any therapy help? I'm sorry to put a damper on this thread, but it is really sad when you learn of children that suffer like this. I would just like learn a little of what you all endure.

I am happy to answer and thanks for asking. What happened to our daughter is that the brain was not fully formed at time of delivary. In non-scientific terms: There is some fluid that allows messages and commands to pass through in the brain. In her brain at these points due to prematurity she has slight scarring which is only seen via a catscan. She has no physical sign of her disability except for the way she walks.
Her case is not as severe as other children, she has high muscle tone in her legs and is unable without supports or intense stretching to flatten her feet when she walks. She is what some call a "toe walker". She is in physical three times a week at this moment to work with the botox injections she recieved in her legs. We are doing this so that in the future they may not have to cut and lengthin her achelious tendons.
She also does equine therapy once a week, which is riding horses. This allows her to build trunk strength so that she in turn can in turn control her strides.
At this moment, I believe she could walk, she has taken a few steps on her own at times, but she doesn't like to fall. What a girl. :rolleyes1
We had her delivered early becuase we experienced the same symptoms during this pregnancy as our first. However during our first pregnancy we lost our son Griffin at 32 weeks. When we saw the same things happening to my wifes body again (she is a type 1 diabetic), we decided to take our chances with whatever the lord would give us.
He certainly has blessed us with a bright minded, beutifull child and a dedicated angel for her.
So there's our story. Sorry for the long winded reply.

Cerebral palsy is an umbrella-like term used to describe a group of chronic disorders impairing control of movement that appear in the first few years of life and generally do not worsen over time. The term cerebral refers to the brain's two halves, or hemispheres, and palsy describes any disorder that impairs control of body movement. Thus, these disorders are not caused by problems in the muscles or nerves. Instead, faulty development or damage to motor areas in the brain disrupts the brain's ability to adequately control movement and posture.
Symptoms of cerebral palsy lie along a spectrum of varying severity. An individual with cerebral palsy may have difficulty with fine motor tasks, such as writing or cutting with scissors; experience trouble with maintaining balance and walking; or be affected by involuntary movements, such as uncontrollable writhing motion of the hands or drooling. The symptoms differ from one person to the next, and may even change over time in the individual. Some people with cerebral palsy are also affected by other medical disorders, including seizures or mental impairment. Contrary to common belief, however, cerebral palsy does not always cause profound handicap. While a child with severe cerebral palsy might be unable to walk and need extensive, lifelong care, a child with mild cerebral palsy might only be slightly awkward and require no special assistance. Cerebral palsy is not contagious nor is it usually inherited from one generation to the next. At this time, it cannot be cured, although scientific research continues to yield improved treatments and methods of prevention.
Cerebral Palsy can affect full-term and preemie infants. Most people with CP do a variety of therapy including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therpay, Speech Therapy, Hippotherapy, and Swim Therapy. It is a life-long problem. In my kids case, they are "floppy" so they have trouble doing things other kids may not find difficult. When we go to Disney, we will use the stroller as a wheelchair as Brantley-Kate and Rees cannot walk long distances.
Rees is affected the most, and he definitely has an akward gait and run. Writing is almost impossible (his arms shake horribly). I am very blessed to even have them here. After almost losing them in my pregnancy, I find them to be true miracles and blessings. They inspire me every day. Rees especially has had a hard time (he has had approximately 10 sugeries, had a feeding tube until age 3, has 4-5 therapies a week, and has many other medical problems). He never complains, is a very flexible kid, and shows me what true courage is. I am indeed the luckiest mom in the entire world to have these three children in my life.
Here's a link for more info about CP. http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/cerebral_palsy/detail_cerebral_palsy.htm#12053104

I just have to tell you that if you caught me starring at your DD it would not be because of her disability. It would be because she is a beautiful striking little girl. And if I did notice that she was walking with help I would think what an amazing little girl. The world is not going to stop her.
My heart goes out to you and your family if you are getting negative looks. :grouphug:
But sometimes people are looking for other reasons - not always negative.

Is it Avery for dark shirts?? When I used the ebay paper for dark shirts and a corner peeled up, I just placed the parchment back on the design and reironed that corner. If I remember correctly, I've heard that people have tried this after the shirts have washed. I don't think there is any harm in trying - just be careful not to burn the shirt by keeping the iron in one place too long.

The explanations of CP were both very informative. Thank you! I firmly believe that all your beautiful children are in the right place and with the right people! I'm amazed at your wonderful attitudes. I don't know how I'd respond if placed in the same situation, so please know that I think you are truly special people. All children are miracles, and it seems that these beautiful kids we've been discussing are even larger miracles. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I thank you for being the caring parents you are! What lucky children.

Hi, just wanted to post a picture of my kids in one of the many matching shirts I made for them...also wanted to mention that when I got home I washed the shirts in warm, regular cycle & line dried & the transfer was fine. What was really great about the "dark" transfer shirts was that the transfer was a little "slick" so when their Mickey bar melted all over them, I just wiped the chocolate off the transfer with a wipe & it came right off!

Thank you both Denise and Macntosh, for sharing your personal stories with us. Please excuse my ignorance, but I truly just learned alot from you. I did not fully understand CP until now. There are 6yr old twins in my son's karate class. From talking to their mother I knew that they were premies, and I knew that she enrolled them in Karate to help their coordination/strength. She also mentioned that at one time they thought their smaller child would never walk. Now I know that they both must have CP, as I always wondered why the one seems to always walk on his tiptoes.
God bless you and your children. You all were picked to raise your children because of special gifts that you have. You are all in my prayers.

macntosh - I agree with the others. I never noticed your daughter's crutches - only that truly adorable face! She is cute cute cute!!
Here's a question though... I always make a point to look directly at someone with a visable disability and smile, say "hello". I have heard of so many people saying they feel invisible or ignored because of their wheelchair or crutches. Is it wrong to do that? I was just trying to be friendly!

Macntosh and triplefigs - thank you so much for sharing your stories. Triplefigs your children are gorgeous.
Macntosh your DD is so beautiful. I understand about people staring. While my oldest DD was going through 3 years of chemo. People would stare and point fingers. But, I think the worst was when parents would tell their kids to be quiet if they started asking questions about her. I would have just preferred to have the questions. My DD went to heaven 5 years ago but, I can still see and feel those incidents.
Again, thank you so much for sharing your stories.

Here are 2 for DS2- the one on the left is to wear on the plane and the one on the right is the family T so I made one for each of us.

macntosh and Denise... thanks for sharing!
Mac... I am yet another who have viewed your pics and NEVER noticed crutches and had to look back to see what you were talking about. I think she is a cutie and you are gonna be batting the boys away later.... ick ick, what a thought huh! Yep, you are blessed to have her and she you and yor wife!
Denise... 3 adorable kids you have there! How do you do it? I can't handle one most days! You are blessed to be able to do that AND nursing! It amazes me that nurses just "have the heart" for it. I can't take anything that is a bodily fluid from someone other than a child.
I have a friend with CP, his servere. Mentally perfect, but physically, he has very little control in one arm, but you have to be careful cuz he jerks and can hit ya at any time :flower: we tease him that he is "just doing that" lol. He is a love and an inspiration! At church he dances in his wheelchair by zooming it all over the place!
Even though he can't speak or move more than one arm, he is writing a book about his life! I can't wait to read it! He points to letters on a board and then someone writes for him, letter by letter! He is amazing! Anyway, I am rambling, sorry.

We are picking the older kids up at school tomorrow am to head for the airport. My ds7 could not get to sleep tonight as he is so excited. I was reading these boards and my ds2 comes running out wearing his first haircut Mickey ears from a previous trip and trying to stuff his blanket into a backpack. He announces that he is ready to go to Mickey's House now. It was just too cute. I think he may be the most excited and knowing how excited I am that is an amazing statement.

I have so many more (including a great German Mickey one for DH, a retro Mickey etc.) but I don't have the energy to post 'em! (Diet Coke- where are you?????)

What kind of printer does everyone use? I have a small HP printer that prints in color. Would this work for the transfers? as anyone had any luck printing them at a Kinkos type place? I was planning to print at work, but the good color printer has decided to take a semi-permanent hiatus.
Thanks!!

On a slightly lighter note, my arm is about to fall off from doing the rest of my shirts today!
I made 21 total and here is a sampling of my favorites:
...
Here's for CRT (hopefully DH will wear the King Daddy one!)
...
Here are 2 for DS2- the one on the left is to wear on the plane and the one on the right is the family T so I made one for each of us.
...
The one on the left is for me to wear to Food & Wine fest in the evenings and the one on the left is wishful thinking that DS2 will actually sleep!
Again, these are terrific! How lucky for your family to have such a variety to choose from :bounce:

Cinderumbrella - your shirts came out beatifully! I still have 5 to go and we leave Saturday!
I've printed all of my transfers from my little HP deskjet 3420 - I've learned one thing -- its not the quality of printer that matters as much as the quality of the transfer paper. I printed our last two transfers today - one on our last piece of the ebay dark transfer paper and the other on Avery dark transfer paper. They were identical designs, but the quality was vastly different! The ebay paper was far superior to the Avery - but I haven't ironed them yet, so I'll post them tomorrow when they're done. It's amazing how much I've learned in the last couple of days!

Kate (julia & nicks mom) bought some great paper off Ebay. She'll be back this weekend. PM her and she can give you the seller's name. Everyone says it's the best they've used. I haven't made any shirts yet, but I got the dark and light from Kate.

I did not get in on the Ebay paper so I used the Avery paper. I used the light on all the white shirts and the dark on the black shirts and 1 of the white shirts (ran out of light paper). While the color seemed "crisper" using the dark paper, the shirt felt more natural using the light paper. Does that make sense? :confused3

I am so excited. This is our first trip since our Disneymoon in 95 (we stayed at the Poly), kids first time ever. I cannot wait! I am secretly hoping the kids have such an awesome time that they beg DH constantly to go back! We've got a trip to Hilton Head planned for next summer, but I want to cancel that and plan an October trip to take the kids to MNSSHP. I'm so devious! I just hope they are all Disney fanatics like ME! DH likes it, but isn't a fanatic. At least he likes it!

To everyone who has posted on this thread. Whether your child has Asthma, CP, Cancer or any other challenge, having the support and love from everyone :grouphug: means so very much. My oldest son who is now 33 and was just in the hospital for his second Asthma attack this year. When they wanted to put him on a ventilator, I almost came unglued. I knew he would be ok, but at that moment, nothing else mattered but being with him. Macntosh, Triplfigs and anyone else that I know I will miss in mentioning, my love and thoughts go to you. I know the stares and how they can be so frustrating. When Howie would really get to coughing and sound like he was ready to throw-up, you could see people wanting to get away from him :( you would not want to see it, but you feel yourself wishing they could spend just ten minutes in your child's shoes to understand his feelings and how scared he was at that moment.

My parents were here this weekend to visit. I showed them my designs, and they were really impressed. My dad told me to email him my photobucket links. He and my mom like the designs so much, they said I should work for Disney. I found that to be such a compliment from my parents (who are NOT Disney fanatics). It really made me feel good!

Triplefigs - I know what you mean about getting your kids hooked. We went last December for the first time with the kids and they have been asking to go back ever since. So....we are going again this year. I had to twist hubby's arm a bit, but it worked. I am sure they are going to become disney fanatics just like me. Then I think we won't go back until April, 2007 to celebrate DD's 5th bday. It is sheer awe watching your children take in all the sights for the first time. Nothing in the world beats it.

I am so bummed. :sad1: I need to whine to people who understand.
We were suppose to be leaving for WDW this Sat.Erich has all next week off for Fall Break.I had tickets for MNSSHP on Oct. 20th.We were staying with our friend that lives down there (and works for WDW and gets us in the parks for free) A few weeks ago the heater core in my car quit working. It's going to cost close to $600 bucks to get it fixed and we really don't have that but we still thought about going. But this weekend my cousin in N.C., who was going to have my Mom stay with her while we were gone.(Mom lives with us,has Alzheimer) fell through ,so the trip is totally off now.
I sent our MNSSHP party tickets to our friend a couple weeks ago just in case we didn't make it.He has somebody that will buy them from of us.
This will be the FIRST TIME in 10 YEARS that Erich and I won't be able to go to MNSSHP.We did the first one when he was 2 and have gone every year since. Joe's been with us the last 4 MNSSHP.:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: I know there's next year but I'm majorly depressed right now :worried:

Kate e-mailed me the person's e-bay ID and I just ordered today. If I had known there were more interested, I would have bought a bigger supply and saved on shipping!
Here is a link to his store:
http://stores.ebay.com/Heat-Transfer-Supplies
I bought 25 light sheets and 25 dark sheets (may have more light sheets than I need and a few extra dark - not sure how many shirts I will end up making). He did combine shipping and save me about $2.00
Just watch the sizes - some are 8x10, not 8 1/2 x 11. I did a buy it now, they have cheaper shipping usually.

My family had gone/is going though the same so I know how hard it is to get anytime away. Can you get your Mom in respite (spelled wrong?) care quickly so you can still go?
I know that is what my GM did for a few days break with my GGM and GP otherwise it was just us who came for a few hours. Thankfully we have a large family (GM had 8 kids) so someone is always close.

Thanks for sharing and making us all a little more knowedgable (sp) she is a beautiful little girl - that smile is amazing :goodvibes

I had to twist hubby's arm a bit, but it worked. I am sure they are going to become disney fanatics just like me. ... It is sheer awe watching your children take in all the sights for the first time. Nothing in the world beats it. I get goosepimply and teary eyed just thinking about it. It is the best feeling in the world.

I am STILL that way after all these years and all these trips. I wanted to go to WDW for our honeymoon in 1973, byt DH2B thought that the Poconos would be more romantic :rotfl:
We took our first WDW vacation in 1981 and have more than 30 trips under our belts. DH in no way has the same Disney addiction that I do, but has come to acccept and support me in my quest to win over the rest of the world. In fact, when I graciously offered to plan a Christmas holiday trip to another location this year he was scandalized that we would not be going to WDW. His words... "It would not be Christmas without Walt." :wizard:
Our 2 DDs probably love WDW almost as much as their mother, thank goodness! Many milestone birthdays have been spent there and (as I have said before) this is our 10th annual trip for Christmas. Next week the girls and I go to WDW without DH to celebrate our older DD's 27th birthday. When we asked her what she wanted this year for her birthday, she told us that she had already put in for vacation for an extended weekend trip to WDW for the Food & Wine Festival. We were invited to go with her. It just so happened that DD19's fall break from college fell the same weekend as her sister's BDay so it was Kismet. I will drive to Richmond and pick both girls up and head to the airport Wedensday afternoon.
I cannot WAIT to walk down Main Street and through the International Gateway with one DD on either side of me. They will grab my hand and say, "Go ahead, Mom... you can cry." Then I WILL get misty (OK, I will probably get a lot misty and leak a little of that mist :rolleyes1 ) and love every single minute of it.
The joy of making those memories with the ones I love just does not ever get old.

Thanks for listening.
Baloo - Please don't feel like you are whinning. We are here to listen. It must be very sad not to get to go on your trip. I would be devastated :sad1: and next year seems to be so far away, but time has a way of passing quickly :hourglass Like the other have said, try and do something at home that night. It won't be the same but still celebrate. Hugs to you and Erich :grouphug:

[QUOTE=disneyeveryyear]Kate e-mailed me the person's e-bay ID and I just ordered today.
He did combine shipping and save me about $2.00
I am interested to buying some but how do you know which one to get. I don't know anything about the paper. :confused3 Could you please let me know which one you got. I want the one for dark paper. I think anyway :confused3

This is the most interesting thread on the DIS boards. I started with it at the beginning and have really enjoyed keeping up. I've shed a lot of tears over the past couple of days hearing the stories of your beautiful children. What a real heartwarming community of people who are willing to share and support each other!
I, too, am interested in some of the ebay dark transfer paper. I'd like 25 sheets, if anyone wants to go in together to get a cheaper price!

I had to look very carefully before I bought. I have an inkjet printer, so that was what I needed. This was the "title" for the dark sheets: Iron On / Heat Transfer Paper / Dark Colors 25 Pack I then clicked on to make sure it was for Inkjet printers and was 8 1/2 x 11.
The light sheets were titled: IRON ON HEAT TRANSFER PAPER / LIGHT COLORS 25 SHEETS This was the one that was confusing me the most. They had some that were about $5.99 for 25 sheets, but when I looked further, they were only 8x10, so I had to keep looking. Just read description. He declares they are the BEST ON THE MARKET.
If you need anything else, let me know.

Someone said if you are using the dark sheets on a white shirt, then you need to cut it out very carefully, because anything that has no ink and is not cut out will appear white on the shirt.
On this shirt, on the upper right hand corner of the border (as you are looking at it), there was an area where the border didn't have any color to it (does this make sense). When I ironed it on, it came out more white. Hope you can see.

MACNTOSH - how very generous of you to coordinate this.
P.S. I also think your little one is absolutely adorable. With that dark hair and button nose, she looks just like Snow White. I think the only people who are "handicapped" are those who can't see past the crutches to the beautiful child and smile. We are working hard to help our children understand that people aren't about the "support" they need (be it crutches, wheelchairs, special reading teachers), people are about what is inside. God teaches us to look beyond the outside to what is important. If your daughter's smile is any indication, she is truly "blessed."

How I would love to be able to do just that! Unfortunately, DH is the only one working right now, so to spend the money that he works so hard (2 full time jobs) to make has me feeling incredibly guilty. Especially since he's paying for surgery for me on Halloween. To his credit, he never mentions it, and constantly tells me how lucky our children are to have a stay at home mommy. But, lately I've been feeling very guilty for the amount of money I'm costing him.
I guess I'll just have to be grateful for the trip we just took, and spend my time planning a wonderful trip for our 20th anniversary (just 4 years away). That's the next one he's promised to go on. Deep sigh. I guess I'll last. :smooth:

We will be at the Wilderness Lodge from the 12th-17th celebrating her birthday at the MK on the 13th.
I plan on shipping everything through work and can use either priority US Mail or UPS overnight if need be. All I ask is you pay for the shipping and the sheets.
I will divide the qty. ordered by cost plus orriginal shipping to get a cost per sheet average. Right now if we order 100 of each, Dar's would be about a buck per sheet and .$35 per sheet on light.

I'm not the most technologically savvy, but you can't post from your computer. You must put your pictures on a hosting site, then put them here. The best way to do this is to use the DIS hosting site or open a photobucket account. (photobucket.com) It's easy to do, so don't be frightened away! Once you load your pictures onto photobucket, highlight the area that starts with [IMG] and ends with [IMG/] or similar in case I'm not exact. Again, once you see it on photobucket, you will understand. Copy and past that sentence into a post on this board and your picture will appear. There are some better directions on the tech board -- it really isn't too hard. Plus we really want to see your finished t-shirts!!

I second that -- they looked great. Where did you get the pooh stencil?? Help us out!!

10-14-2005, 02:33 PM
Thanks! The Pooh ones are my favorites. My partner in crime (speak up Kari) found the Pooh stencil at Michael's I think. They also have Minnie, Mickey and Tink heads. I tried the Minnie but her eyes look funny. Pooh is definitey the cutest. My family of 7 and her family of 4 are going to DL next month so there will be 11 of us in the Mickey head shirts. Actually DD (13) won't wear the Mickey head, so I'm making her a Tink one - she'll be the oddball.
For the painting I copied JnEsWDWMom's idea. I used the Tulip spray paints from Michael's and sprayed the shirts dry. It's very easy and only take about 30 seconds per shirt. Easy!!
HINT - For mulitiple Pooh heads you'll either need 3 stencils or trace and cut out a Pooh head out of cardstock and tape it on where the Pooh head will go so you don't spray that part. I can take pictures of that part if anyone wants.

:smooth:
I understand completely. For as much as I hate having to work, that extra paycheck is nice. Two more years though, and then I'm retiring! Woohoo! These will be the longest years.........
Ok, try this. It worked for me to get this years trip okayed. Just keep saying "I want to go back to Disney" "I had such a good time when we were in Disney" "When can we go back to Disney". Then the kids will pick up on it and he will start getting it from all sides. Eventually maybe he will give in and say "OK, lets go!"
But if you wait 4 years just think of all the shirt designs you will have to choose from and all the secrets you will have learned to make your trip even more enjoyable!

For the single Mickey head I printed out a Mickey head from someone's designs (sorry, can't remember who) in different sizes. 8 x 10 for adult shirts, 5x7 for bigger kids, 4x6 for size 4/5 t-shirts. Just depends on how big you want the Mickey to be. Then I cut it out and traced it onto stencil plastic and cut that out. You could just do it with paper or cardstock, but it will get quite wet from the paint. Using the plastic I can just rinse it off and keep using it. I have 5 kids so I had to make a lot of t-shirts!! Tape it on the shirt and spray. I hung the shirts on a hangar to do the spraying - otherwise you kind of get a line across the shoulder when spraying. I practiced on some infant size undershirts before making the final ones.

Ahh, the "wear him down" factor! :goodvibes It could work, but knowing my husband, he'll just tune the kids out. He's really good at that. :rolleyes1
Planning for a trip is most fun! However, planning for 4 years might be considered excessive! The t-shirt planning might just take 4 years. There are too many designs to choose from. Hopefully I'll be able to talk him into another trip before the anniversary one. It would be nice to take a "grown up" trip with him. If he doesn't go for it, there's always my DSIL. She is as much of a fanatic as I am. Now that could be FUN! :p

Those are great!!! Do you have a picture of the Tink one?

MinnieMouseMom - I haven't done the Tink one yet. Just practiced. I'm waiting for the UPS truck to come with my order from shirtsupplier so I can do the rest. I didn't get the Tink head stencil - I just traced and cut out a whole-body Tink.
The other shirts I got at WalMart for $3 on clearance. My girls like them because they have lace and ruffly sleeves.

These are good tips! I have a large canning jar that I use to put spare change in. Usually I only start collecting change a few months before a trip to Disneyland. This year I collected $60.00 in change. That was great for snack items, etc.
I decided to start now to save for our next trip. Who knows what I'll be able to afford once the time comes; staying onsite, AP's, etc. It's nice to see the jar slowly fill up and know it's all going towards a great trip!

I agree that the spray painting is better than tie dying. I am terrified to work with the dyes for tie dyeing, but the spray paint was quick and easy. It was fun, too. Even my 8 year old was able to do it. We had so much fun making ours for Disneyland, we made several more for school. Everyone should try it!!!

I have a new appreciation for all who have ironed on the transfers, we had two more to do and Marti is downstairs sewing DS new costume (changed mind from Indiana Jones to Scream, too hot in FL for all the Indy gear) so I took a stab with the iron. Greetings from WDW - I am officially declaring this thread closed until I get home - I will let you all know when you are allowed to post again -
it will take me FOREVER to catch up!!!!
We are still having a GREAT trip!!!
Tonight - I was at Fantasmic and saw a LARGE group of people with very familiar shirts on -
could it be?!?!? The back looked like a design of Kevin's - but I held back until they turned around and on the front was one of my designs on the "pocket"!!!
I ran down to them - none of them had made the shirts - so I watched them and saw them go to a woman - I followed and found a DISer who doesn't post on our thread but loves our designs - they had made 20 of the shirts - and yes - I got pictures!!!!!!!
Earlier in the week - they wore one of Gina's designs!! Very cool feeling!!
I get home late Sunday - and have a big project for Monday night - I will try to catch up a little - but will definately be on Tuesday!!
Oh yea - I found Julia's bracelet - under the sand table outside (thanks to my MIL hunting outside for me!!!)
now if you all could pray that someone here at WDW finds our portable DVD player - which doesn't bother me as much as losing all the kids favorite DVD's does!!!!!!
Talk to you soon - I miss you guys!!!!!

I'm trying to talk DH into an anniversary trip to the World, but so far no go. How do you all get your not into Disney spouses (or significant others) to agree to another trip to Disney? Suggestions? :confused3
I gave DH the Richard Petty Driving Experience (at the WDW Speedway) for our 10th anniversary knowing he would never turn that down, lol. (To be fair I really wanted to give him something memorable for putting up with me for the past 11 years ;) ).
Unfortunately, I think I played all my cards a little too soon. I don't have much to entice him back after that one. Although...the RPDE instructor did say you could go as fast as you have the nerve for at Daytona, so maybe I could promise a day trip to Daytona... :scratchin
I think DH secretly likes it. He called me yesterday from work to tell me Delta is adding a non-stop flight from Baton Rouge to Orlando and he seemed pretty excited about it. When I called him on it, he said he wasn't (ready to go back) but he NEVER calls me from work :rotfl:

I made 21 total and here is a sampling of my favorites:
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a328/kzimm7/Tshirts001.jpg
Here's for CRT (hopefully DH will wear the King Daddy one!)
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a328/kzimm7/Tshirts002.jpg
Here are 2 for DS2- the one on the left is to wear on the plane and the one on the right is the family T so I made one for each of us.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a328/kzimm7/Tshirts003.jpg
The one on the left is for me to wear to Food & Wine fest in the evenings and the one on the left is wishful thinking that DS2 will actually sleep!
Where did you find the shirts that snap on the bottom? I would love these for my youngest DS. I especially like the one with the black sleeve. The shirts look great.

Where did you find the shirts that snap on the bottom? I would love these for my youngest DS. I especially like the one with the black sleeve. The shirts look great.
I got it from blankshirtstore.com. They have 4 different solid colors and I think 6 different "ringer" styles.

Be very careful- because it is so small that part of the shirt tends to burn easily.
I had so much fun making all of our shirts! Every one either has a WDW 2005 on the sleeve or something small on the back by the neck etc.
I know I missed Paul and Marti already, but have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello guys - I wasn't expecting to be here tonight - I drove 120miles to my mum's today as I had to go to the bridal shop there to pick up my dress :cheer2: It's all safely stowed in my case ready for them to bring to the airport in 19 days!
I was meant to sleep over and then go shopping with mum tomorrow - but at 8pm I got a call from DH2B - from the doorstep of our house - he was going to the chip shop and managed to lock himself out - and our two cats in! So I just had to get back in the car and drive the two hours back again! Men... what is it they say, you can't live with them... :goodvibes:
He's being quite sheepish and apologetic - maybe I should take this opportunity to suggest booking another trip to DIsney for next year :rotfl:
I'm too tired to be up this late so I'm heading to bed. Night - have a fun evening I'll catch up in the morning :goodvibes
EDIT: Just before I go I found this image earlier:

The band was Jack 0'Pierce an Accoustical Duet. Good, fun, beer drinking music. I even bought my daughter a pink concert shirt. Her first Concert Shirt!
When I get the paper I will create everyone's package and then weigh and ship. I will ship USPS priority for everyone unless you want something quicker then 2-3 days. Go ahaid and send me home address's via IM with quantity ordered just as a reminder. I went ahaid and ordered 50 more dark as it seem's I was still getting some request's after the fact.
So everyone that wanted paper up until now is getting it. I may still have some more, but I want to go back and check. I will let folks know.
For pricing purpose's cost will be about $1.00 per dark and .35 per light. I will be shipping from the 75230 zip code if you want to check shipping costs. You can estimate the weight based on qty requested.
Night All!

I have been using PrintShop 20 by Broderbund. It's simple to learn and has many great features - and best of all, only cost about $40 at Office Depot.

What is a chip shop?
:rotfl: I realised after I posted that I might get that question :goodvibes
In England we have fat chips (fries) like the ones they sell at Harry Ramsdens in Epcot at the UK pavillion. Harry Ramsdens is an expensive chain in the UK but in every town you will find lots of chip shops where they sell battered fish/sausages/pies (all deep fried and extremely unhealthy) and fat chips - they're usually all takeaways and you go in and get a polystyrene tray with your chips in and the fish on top and then they wrap it in paper (traditionally newspaper but not any more) and you take it away and eat them - yum very deliecious!
They tend to look like this:

For the painting I copied JnEsWDWMom's idea. I used the Tulip spray paints from Michael's and sprayed the shirts dry. It's very easy and only take about 30 seconds per shirt. Easy!!
I'm so tickled some one used my idea! I think they look great! If anyone else tries it, please post pics. I'd love to see them. We had a ball making ours.

Hey all-
I wanted to show you the picture of my daughter in her great homemade t-shirt (design made for us by Kate (J&N's mom)! -Thanks so much!) It was nice for her because all the princesses automatically knew her name from reading the shirt! Another bonus - meeting Kevin, Amy, & Alyssa (KMH1) while waiting for the Magic Kingdom bus at Pop Century! They saw the shirt and knew we were Disers! (Nice to have met you 3! Maybe I'll bump into you again around here at home!)
