Denise,
I have seen some of his pictures. They are beautiful. I really love the one where the castle is reflected in the pond (moat). It would make a beautiful poster.
I found this great website (http://www.pbase.com/catson/christmas_at_walt_disney_world_) with Christmas pictures. They are amazing. And he has fantastic castle pictures too. I just had to edit out all the people.

Hello Everyone!!
Have been traveling for work and personal, and so haven't been able to check the board in over a week. Think we were at 6000 or so when I was last on here, and now we're at 6980+!! My gosh you all have been busy!!
Will take me a while to go back through all the pages to see what all has been going on with everyone. From what I can tell, it has been very busy at Triplefigs' house with the penny fiasco!!
My cousin shoved a bunch of peas up her nose when she was little. The doctor went to take them out, shoved them up further into her nose, and then said, "Well, they're organic, they'll start to decompose and come out." Can you believe it?! I don't trust that Kaiser medical group in CA.
While I was away, I received the transfer papers that J&N'sMom got off eBay. Can't wait to use them!! Is everyone having success with them? Do you print in mirror or regular? With the HP papers I have used you print regular, because you peel the backing off before ironing. These ones from eBay look like you don't peel them first. Anyone have any other tips?
Baloo: Thanks for the heads up on the new clipart additions. Also, love the "Pooh" penny reference. Hee hee!
Triplefigs: Brantley-Kate and I are going to need Halloween shirts with this image since we are both Marie fans:
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a192/pinkmoonbeams/MarieHalloween.gif
Maybe with a tagline like "Wishing You a Purrfect Halloween!"
Think you all were sharing photos of yourselves last week while I was gone. Here's a photo of DBF and I at the wedding we attended last weekend.

I'll work on a shirt for you. That would be so cute on a canvas bag for Brantley-kate for trick or treating with her name, wouldn't it? Thanks for the clip art. Good to see you!

I tried that - even turned the Word page into landscape and it still cut off. The margins were big enough and it showed that it was all there prior to pasting it in Word. I even went to ellenbenny's photobucket link and took it directly from the scan and it didn't work!!!
Maybe I need to get all hopped up on Diet Coke for it to work!

That's a new group, you have the DDA, now we could have the SSA (Sarcasm Sisters of America). My oldest is 11 and is just starting to appreciate and understand my sarcasm. It Is usually lost on DD6.
Yesterday I was dancing around the kitchen, and DS11 made it known that he thought I was a little over the top. I explained to him that since he was in Middle School they would soon start holding dances and I was going to volunteer to chaperone each and every one. I would wear the same striped polo I had on yesterday that he didn't like, and I would make him dance with me. :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: IN PUBLIC!
He has finally realized that I was completely serious when I have told him that my job #1 as a mom is to embarass him in public whenever possible, and I am proud to say that I am excelling in my job!

Does anyone have a pretty, LARGE clip art of cinderella??
With the movie coming out I wanted to make a shirt for DD but nothing I find is large enough and I have zero photoshop type pf programs to make anything bigger. I can only import into Word and add text that way. So I am stuck with the size I find.

OK - here goes, my first postings of pictures, I hope this works
T-shirt #1 Pink Tie-Dye (size for my DS11 - colors for DN) guess it will be too big for the 22 year old, but she should be thrilled to get an extra shirt. I don't like the U shape on the bottom - need to figure out what I did to make this
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a194/disneyeveryyear/pinktie-dye.jpg
T-shirt #2 Turquoise Tie Dye - (colors for my DS11, but size of my DN22) - I did this at the same time as above and made the same mistake
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a194/disneyeveryyear/turquoisetie-dye2.jpg
T-shirt #3 with pattern from n&j's mom - looks cute, but in between the letters, the transfer has yellowed - did I iron too long?
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a194/disneyeveryyear/princess1.jpg
Well, thanks for all of your support along the way.
Can't believe it was really that easy to post a picture
It worked, it worked :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I found that some of my white transfers had the yellow tinge. I think it varies by brand. I don't think iron time effected the ones I did. I ended up using the dark transfer paper for all to avoid the yellowing.

Morning everyone! Triplefigs - so glad DS is okay!!! My DS loves pennies for his "pig bink" - I'm so afraid one is going to suffer the same fate as your DS's! :scared1:
You all have been busy!!! I'm trying to catch up with all the news. I've also been working on shirts - 10 done, and 4 more ready to go today! I need to get DH to take some pics. ;)
I did learn a few things along the way - in case anyone wants to avoid my mistakes...
1. Use a lint roller/brush on the shirts before ironing. I have two shirts (white) that look great except for a little piece of blue or red fuzz under a light part of the design.
2. If the paper is turning brown/yellow - you might be burning it! woops! One of DS's shirt (for his Pah-Pah's birthday) is a little yellowed, but I figure he's always in perpetual motion, so noone will be able to tell.
3. If the paper is creasing, keep ironing through that area with pressure - you can sometimes iron out the creases so they aren't noticable.
4. If you turn your woodblock around to accomodate a landscape design - make sure you re-center the shirt!!! I did the black castle "50 years of magic", but it is a bit off-center. I guess it's okay since I'm a bit off-center at times, too. :teeth:
Anyway, thank you all again for the great designs and inspiration! I will try to get pics up asap. Off to get DS to preschool and go to work!
:flower: Have a great day!!!

My dh calls me a nightowl, but I must have turned in too early last night (11:30PM) because I was 5 pages behind this morning. I'm been here since day 1 and never get in on those milestone posts. :confused3 . Perhaps I am just not addicted enough. I do get obsessive though, I've got 10 days before we leave and I'm 95% packed! :teeth: :teeth: My DDA shirts are all in the bags and just one more pillowcase to make. Hoping Julia and Nick's Mom will have time to make me a Colby design with all the characters, but she leaves a week before me so I may have to make do with something else.

Obviously, not a mother. Poop is just one of the many disgusting things we all have to endure. Unfortunately this could have become a very serious issue for Triplefigs and her family. She came to this thread for support from her fellow DDA's. We made "light" of a serious situation to keep her spirits up. If you take life so seriously that you cannot joke about a normal bodily function that we all do, without getting offended or "grossed out", then I feel sorry for you.
You know, it's a shame, this was one of the few threads on this board where there haven't been any flames. We were lucky to get this far before they started. Let's hope there are no more.
Sorry you got offended. Bye.

Shriva,
I am sorry I offended you with this conversation. That was not my intent to offend anyone. I did indeed start another thread on this subject on the family board. This thread and DDA members feels like "family" to me, and that is why I posted about my son here.
I don't think you're weird for thinking this conversation was a little off topic or gross. I'm a nurse, and I suppose that I don't always think how bodily functions may come across to others.
So, I hope you will stick around. This is a great thread, and the designs and designers are wonderful.
Denise
PS-I also sent this exact message via PM to you.

I think that should be the DDA slogan: 7045 posts and no flames.
Of course like factories that post the number of accident-free days, I guess now we're back down to 4 flame-free posts!

Shriva- are you serious? When I first read your response, I thought you were angry- and then I saw your "poop killed my addiction" lime green Mickey head and laughed out loud!
Noone meant to make you feel bad. A simple "Can we please stick to the subject of the thread this poop stuff makes me sick" would've been sufficient to stop a conversation you felt uncomfortable with. My comments earlier were made in jest to lighten the situation, not to make you feel bad. So sorry if they did.

Shriva - I am sorry you feel that way -
This thread is as long as it is b/c we are like a big family and we were all worried about Denise's son - we were helping her keep the situation in perspective b/c we all know that it is WAY too easy as a mother to become neurotic about things we don't have any control over
I certainly don't want to discourage anyone from posting off topic posts in this thread - it would die pretty quickly -
I have noticed since most of us seem to be leaving or in WDW right now the requests are starting to slow down and since we are in a design lull - we still want to chat and check in with each other!

I have a question for anyone out there. Does anyone know if a thin plastic is available for putting through a printer? I want to take some of the designs and make luggage tags out of them- but to make them sturdy enough, I want to have a "credit card" type of plastic to print them on. Can anyone help me???

I don't think so - but you could use labels and stick them on one
ETA: what if you print it on cardstock and buy self laminating pouches and put them in there

Epiphania will turn 4, she loves Alice in Wonderland, Mogli and Shanti from the Jungle book.

triplefigs ~~~ Hooray the penny passed!!!!
julia & nicks mom ~~~ about the "self laminating pouches", when they get wet, they fall apart. I used them for DS's ID cards last year and they got wet and fell apart.
This year, I plan to bring them to Staples. They will laminate and I can put several on one sheet and then cut them apart.
ETA: It's a "hot" laminate process as opposed to the cold laminate you can buy off the shelves. I want to say it cost about $1 for an 8.5x11 sheet laminated. I think that is actually cheaper than doing the cold laminate. Oh .... if you want to print the cards 2 sided, be sure to use a heavy paper (like resume paper) or card stock.
I have a Word file I use for making a child ID --- I just update it with a new picture and stats. The amount of money they want to do a picture ID is ridiculous! I can make all I want -- and do! LOL My DH and I each carry one. My have one is DS's backpack. And, each of the grandmother's have one.

51 cents. The one cent then becomes the pressed penny. It takes on an oval shape after it is flattened. Kinda like when you roll out a lump of pie dough with a rolling pin.

I've made some luggage tag designs - I was going to print them on paper - then cut out some card (probably from a cereal packet) and sandwich that between the images - then either put them in a plastic luggage tag pocket - they have some in our local stationers - or "laminate" them with some sticky back plastic. If I go the laminated route I'll punch a whole and put some cord through to attach to the cases/ruck sacks

I bought these at Walmart. I print out ID cards for DS's backpack and lunch box every school year and use these to laminate them. I make a hole in them with a hole punch and attach them to the bag with a key ring. They even make some especially for luggage tags that have a loop on them.

Print it out on photo paper. They have self laminating photo sleeves that start at a business card size. I got mine at walmart in the office supplies. They come out fairly stiff and you can have writing on both sides.

Thank you!!!!!!
I'm sure someone has a Cindy clipart that's big...but I want to tell you how to change the size of your pictures in Word!
--Click on the picture so it's got the box around it with the little squares.
--Right click on the picture, and choose "Format Picture" from the menu (near the bottom).
--In the Format Picture window, choose the "Size" tab.
--Make sure "Lock aspect ratio" is checked. That make sure it adjusts the size in both directions, width and height.
--adjust size (or scale if you prefer to work in percentages); you can just adjust one measurement (height or width) and it will automatically size the other one
--Click "ok"
Voila!
ETA: This is not without it's limits. It will pixilate if you go too much bigger than the original. Best bet is to try and see just how far you can adjust it without losing clarity!

We leave for Disney in 2 days and I just finished making all of our t-shirts. I made an Aladdin one for my oldest son (someone designed it, I just did the iron on part :rotfl: ) and I would like to do one of Max for my youngest son. I can not for the life of me find any graphics of Max though. :confused3
Does anyone know where I could find some graphics of Max? Also if anyone could design a shirt on such short notice for me that would be awesome! Thanks so much! :goodvibes

Quick question for you guys. I am doing a flag for my Breast Cancer Walk this weekend. I am using a Mickey, Minnie and a Pink Ribbon. I really don't want to wash the Fabric that I have first. What will happen if I don't?
It is not like I am going to wear it. I am going to display it on my tent so I will be able to find it.
Any help??

I haven't washed any of my T-shirts before I ironed them. I did have a little of the dark T's show through the white but from what I've read here, that is not uncommon. I did have them pressed on using a professional heat press so that may be the difference.

Well I don't have a heat press and I don't have time to wash the yards of fabric that I have. So I guess I will just have to try it and hope for the best.

OH -if this works I will be ecstatic - I will have to try this tomorrow -I don't have any white out!! Found this tip on the web:
I have found a very easy way to create white on a colored shirt.
Reciently my boy joind the cub scouts, I purchased a t-shirt for him but wanted one for dad(me).
The design on the shirt contained mostly black with some white on an orange T-shirt.
I tryd an experiment that worked much better than I thought it would. Here is how you do it.
Make the iron-on transfer as you normaly would. Purchase a small bottle of White-out (liquid paper) carfuly apply the white-out to the transfer paper, going on the lines will not hurt because the ink will cover the white out area. Allow the white-out to dry.
Now iron on the transfer as you normaly would, the white-out will sink in to the garment and remain there even during washings. It is that easy.

If this works, you could then use transfers for white shirts therefore NOT having to trim the excess off around the design? Is that the significance? (can you tell I've never actually done a shirt?) The color of the shirt would show through all the "white" areas of the light color transfer except where the white out is? It would make it much easier on all those transparent background designs!
BTW, liquid paper also works great on nail holes or scuffs on white wood work, doors, trim. I use it to cover up lots of little spots!

I have to tell you how much fun we are having with that costume!!
For Julia's 2nd birthday she got a Belle tea set - and the tea pot is of course Mrs. Potts and she talks - so I put her inside the costume and she randomly talks - "Would you like a spot of tea?" "Will Beast be joining us for supper?" - she sings and when you tip it over it sounds like she is pouring tea - so anytime I lean over it sounds like the costume is pouring tea - it really makes the costume perfect!!!!!!

You could take your "Queen Mommy" design and change it to "Queen of the DDA" Nobody but you would know what it meant, but we would.
How about that adorable picture of Julia and Nick at WDW in your sig? It might not make much sense to most, but I would bet most DISers would know exactly who you are.
I do love the Evolution of Mickey - I think I will make that for myself no matter what I make for anyone else.
I did two more tie-dyes today. Well, DD6 tie-dyed her own. :cool1: Can't wait to see what this one looks like. I'll try to post a picture of it tomorrow night.
I need to get on it and start working on the 4 other tie-dyes, plus I just told a friend of mine that I met on the Disney Cruise 2 years ago that I would make T-shirts for her, her DH and DD2. They are going on the Nov. 12 Magic this year. I thought tie-dye would be fun for them too, but after the staining I ended up with on my hands and clothes today, I don't think so.

Kate,
Just how often are you wearing that costume? Do you clean house in it, or is it saved for "special" occasions? Inquiring minds want to know.
BRENDITA: Glad to see you back. Hope things get better at home. As those of us who are women, and mothers (and obsessed with poop and all things gross) know, men can be a royal PIA sometimes. Maybe the trip away will be exactly what he needs to appreciate you more.

Great designs Marti - I noticed in the 2nd design that Paul and my DH poste identically, bending at the waist. What's up with that? My DH is 11" taller than I am, but it's not like you can't fit the two of us in the viewfinder at the same time.

We noticed that too - how come that happens? Every character picture we have it seems like he is bending over. I guess those big ears get in the way???

Brendita - are you sending those as postcards - I am contemplating making postcards before we leave to send home - is that tacky - anyone?
I was thinking they looked just like postcards - I've been making some, borrowing a few tee designs as I can't wear that many shirts!
I got them printed on photo paper and am going to stick them to some card to make them more sturdy. My DH2B says they look v professional and much better than the ones you get in Fl. We usually buy a stash at publix and they're always really 70s pictures of the characters or dodgy cartoons. At least this way they're personlalised - and if you decide who you want to send each one to before you go you can write their address on and not have to lug your address book with you!
I'm also printing Midnite's 3d mickey park images on photo paper to put in my album when we get home -so we have a photo for each park to announce that park's holiday photos

Ok I've got a question for you experts. I've designed a couple of shirts and I want to knowabout backround color. Is there some kind of "clear" transfer paper so that if I transfer to a colored shirt the shirt can be the backround or If I put a backround on the design will it come out on the transfer or will it just be white? basically I don't want a white backround, I want there to be some color either from the design itself or the shirt I'm putting it on. How can I do that? TIA

WHAT is the trick to using the iron on for dark material by avery?? I wrongly assumed it was like for white material (didn't have instructions), flipped the picture and printed as I normally do. Went to iron it on and alas something was OH so wrong....
The "ink" was up against the teeshirt :confused3 and the side facing away from the teeshirt was white. I could SEE the picture but it did not look right AT all. I royally made a mess.
Luckily I could pull the transfer completely off. Now what do I do so it works right next time? Other wise I am out of 2 packs of transfers for dark material minus ONE peice. *cry*.
I am hoping someone can give me baby steps.

it took me a while to comprehend the dark versus light concept too!!
with the dark paper - print it normal - I think there is a backing that you peel off - then you put the design right side up on the shirt - there should have been a cover parchment paper inside which you place on top of the transfer - you then iron over the paper to "melt" (for lack of a better word) the transfer onto the shirt
I hope that makes sense

The white didn't really work - the parts with the white out ddin't iron on very well - so it would be a crap shoot to see if it works shirt by shirt -
although since I was experimenting - I colored with a sharpie as well - and that worked - now the question is do they make whtie sharpies? or woudl a white paint pin work?

Kate,
According to the gooble-de-gook I found on the USPS website, it doesn't look like you can mail a round postcard. Well, you can make one, you just can't mail it. Looks like you might need to use a square envelope for your design.
Here are the postcard regulations....
Postcard Standards:
Minimum Allowable Postcard Size: 3.5 x 5 Inches
If the width is less than 5 inches or the height is less than 3.5 inches the USPS will NOT mail your postcard.
Maximum Allowable Postcard Size: 4.25 x 6 Inches
If the width is greater than 6 inches or the height is greater than 4.25 inches, the postcard must be mailed as a letter, higher rate and all.
Minimum Thickness: .007 Inches
Any mail less than the minimum is considered Non-Mailable and the USPS will NOT deliver it.
Maximum Thickness: .25 inches
Exceeding the maximum puts the mail piece into a different mail class, called a Parcel.
Intermediate Sizes are Allowable
A 4 x 5.5 inch postcard is mailable at the postcard rate. As long as a mail piece meets the size, thickness, weight and aspect ratio (http://www.abspresort.com/usps/sizes.htm#ratios)requirements above, it can be mailed as a postcard.
Minimum Thickness: .007 Inches
Maximum Thickness: .25 inches
Space reserved for USPS Barcode and Endorsements (http://www.abspresort.com/client/pcard.htm)

I know that I've seen round postcards around. I believe that you have to put regular 37 cent postage on the. I want to say that the one's I've seen were at least 4" wide. If you went bigger than a certain size you might have to put even more postage on it.
Perhaps you could take something the size you are thinking to the post office. They can compare it to their template and tell you if it's okay to mail and what the required postage would be.

Although I don't want to disagree, I have to chime in here. A few years ago there was a round EPCOT postcard that was available for a short period of time. We mailed it to ourselves and still have it. I think we had to put extra postage on it. Let me see if I can find it and let you know!

It was from 2000 and we had to put 33 cents on it then. So I magine that was first class postage (anyone remember)? Might be that 37 cents would mail that postcard to you, J&Ns Mom. The card is 6 inches in diameter, by the way. Hope that helps!

Thought you all might want to see it! It is a little worse for wear thanks to the mailing. But it is still a cool postcard. It is a little "glittery" in person too.

I can't see signatures or the little pictures under a persons name on the left side of the screen. Anybody? Or, once again, its just me???

There was a post about this on the Community Board. Something to do with some Photobucket problems. It looks fine to me, but lots of people were having trouble. Also check out the Technical Board.

Okay - as I told you earlier today, my DD6 wanted to tie-dye her own t-shirt. She did it last night and we finished rinsing it today. I was worried how it would look. I should have known better.

Marti, sometimes when I've been on the DIS for a long time, (hours and hours) I start to 'loose' photos, then smilies and avatars. I usually just sign off and then back on. Once or twice I've rebooted the computer. Sorry, can't tell the technical reason for this, but signing off the Dis or rebooting has worked for me.

I've tried both those things -- we even unplugged our modem, just in case that was the trouble. So far, nothing has worked. My husband is having the same exact troubles... so far photobucket seems to be an issue. The only problem is that I don't know how to fix that!!

 Hi All!
Things are just crazy at work. I really should be in bed but had to get caught up here.
Denise-glad to hear your son is fine now.
I've just got to share this. It was open house tonight at my DD's school (well last night actually....). She's in the first grade and I saw her journal. Her last entry was a drawing of an airplane and the caption "I am going to disneee". I think she's almost as excited as I am!

I recently got PhotoImpact and I'm trying to learn how to use it. I couldn't resist trying out the Disney Post Card design. I filled it with pics of my daughter from different WDW trips. I was so happy with how it came out I put it on a shirt tonight! What fun!!! :goodvibes

I've had that problem for two days now. I keep waiting to see the new designs, because other people are obviously seeing them (and replying about how cute they are), and I haven't seen any! I'm never on the DIS for more than a few minutes at a time (anymore), so I don't think that's the issue...... :confused3

I just had a T-Shirt design request in my e-mail.
I don't ever remember posting my e-mail address.
The e-mail also had a link to my photo-bucket.
e-mail address aanthony03@yahoo.com
Christina was the name on the e-mail.
Anyone have this happen to them or know who this is?
I replyed to them PM me on the Dis.
If I didn't post my e-mail address here.
I swear I really don't think I did.
Is it possiable to get my e-mail address from photo-bucket?
Don't get me wrong I love being asked to do designs.
I also love doing them.
I just think it is odd to receive a request in my personal e-mail address.
Brendita,
People can email you through the DIS. If they click on your public profile, there is an option for them to contact you via email. You CAN turn this option off in your preferences if you want to...so check there and see if it's "on". Just so you know, it doesn't display your email address to them. They enter their message on the site and the DIS forwards it to you....giving you the email address of the person who sent the message.
Hope that helps!

According to Ebay's Community Board, Photobucket is one of many sites that some regions cannot access. It has something to do with a company called Level3 blocking traffic. I have RoadRunner in Wisconsin. I cannot access Photobucket AT ALL!! So far, that seems to be the only thing I cannot access. We will have to wait until anything routed through Level3 is re-routed.

Ironed on all my shirts last night and I LOVE them - I don't know if I will get my act together to post before I leave or not!
My sisters are going to overlap a weekend with us and I have learned that trying to plan one weekend with 14 people is stress enough - no big trips to WDW with others!! (unless they are as obsessive about planning as me!)
I e-mailed Penny (choascent) her life has been "chaos" and she has been afraid to get sucked back into the addiction - but she might check in this weekend!
Brendita - people can send you an email through your photobucket account - I have gotten some requests that way - I am not sure if you can block it or not - I agree it is confusing to get them that way - I work from my PM's and sometimes I forget they are there!
Gotta go pack!! Have a great day!!! :flower:

I am so addicted to this thread, it's not funny! :goodvibes
I got one set of matching Mickey shirts on sale at the Disney store for $5 each before 4th of July. I really want to design some additional shirts for myself and DS (and DH if I can get him to wear them!), and have been borrowing a few images and lots of ideas from everyone here. Thanks for all the hard work and great commaraderie! :flower:
I also want to make a "Disney Mom" bag. I downloaded a Disney font to make the words, and I'm trying to collect Disney Mom and child clipart. I have a few, but some aren't too good. Any good ones anyone has of Dumbo + Mom, Bambi + Mom, Kanga + Roo, or others I'm forgetting?
Also, the bag I bought at Michael's says it's a paintable canvas bag, no pre-washing needed, hand wash only. Do you think transfers will work on it, or should I put the transfers on other material and sew it on, or just look for another bag?
Thanks for any clipart, tips, and suggestions!

I have earthlink through Bright House Networks. Still can't see pics.
Found that thread and read some more (WAY too techie stuff!) but DID find a work around. If you go to www.surfshield.net (http://www.surfshield.net) and put the website in their bar, you can surf through there....it's a proxy server. Basically, it's using different pathways...ones that aren't blocked by that Level3 company. It is a bit slower, but at least the pics come up! Just make sure you browse in the window, so it stays in frames through surfshield (your address bar should always start with surfshield.net.....). Hope that helps someone else!
I have 2 windows open. One in surfshield one not. While the surfshield window loads (VERY slowly) a thread with pics (like this one :teeth: ) I read my other subscribed threads in a regular window.

CheriePenguin Most of the designers are working off PM's so they don't lose requests in the thread. You might want to pick one and send it off so it doesn't get overlooked. Sounds like a very cute idea!

Thanks to those who replied about sending a PM for designs - but I wasn't trying to request a custom design, I kind of wanted to create them myself (borrowing heavily from all the great ideas everyone has been working on here!).
I just had those questions about using the canvas bag, and was asking if anyone had any good Disney Mom+Child clipart. The bag is cotton, but feels stiff, and says no pre-washing needed and hand-wash only.
I just found the updated clipart link Baloo posted. Not sure why I didn't find that site when I was looking before - maybe it was down or too busy and I just never checked back. I found a few more clipart images there that I can use.

If it were me...I'd try to do an iron on directly on the bag without prewashing. I'd be too lazy to try to do the transfer on some other fabric and then sew it on the bag and I think you'll get better results without prewashing on this item. I don't know how "perfect" it will be because I don't know how well the transfer will take to the texture of the canvas but you could always try and if it didn't work cover it up with something you sew on. I think it would be easier to make a bag from scratch then to sew something onto to the existing bag. OK I must fess up I don't hand sew-if it can't be done by machine I don't do it.
