I think we would have to wear these shirts :rotfl2:

I think you have to copy and paste this into your browser - they don't allow remote linking

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Oh no! They're just awful! Please tell me they didn't wear those at WDW! :rotfl:

Okay DDA's -

I learned a very valuable lesson tonight -

Brother transfer paper is HORRIBLE - it doesn't peel and your design will crack immediately!!!

The stuff from Ebay is AWESOME!!!!

All of my shirts are finally done !!! Frantically packing and cleaning - leaving at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning. Wanted to post my THANKS !!! to all of the wonderful designers who shared their designs here - I made about a dozen shirts - one for DNeph for each day of his special 8th birthday trip - I know he'll get lots of "Happy Birthdays" now - just can't wait to see him smile every morning when I give him his shirt!! Even made a mini matching shirt for DGrD to wear with him on the Family Magic tour - they spend their summers together and he is a great "big brother" to her. Made MNSSHP t's for the big kids to wear who didn't want to wear costumes - combined with their light-up jack-o-lantern baseball caps I found at TJMaxx, they'll look as festive as I can get them ;) !

THE BIGGEST HINT I can offer is to use a striped sheet over the counter when ironing - it made it very easy to line up and center the transfers. My burlington brand white transfers came out the best - the colors look AWESOME and the transfers are very 'soft' - I used both burlington premium and avery for the dark shirts and some of the color of the background shirt came through the white places on the transfers - but nothing too drastic. I took pics of them all last night but will have to wait until I return to post them - need DHs help to do that and he is as frantic as I am trying to tie things up at the office - OK, we're off  - Thanks again to all of the design addicts - you guys are great ! Keep designing - I'll be planning next year's trip to DisneyLAND as soon as I return! :smooth:

But you are all more than welcome!!

You're in big trouble...I'm telling your mom!!! :rotfl:

Just so you all know, Kate's mom doesn't approve of Kate ever meeting "online friends." I'm lucky that Kate is such a REBEL :moped: (that's a harley guy, right?!!) and she agreed to meet me at the mall a couple months ago. However, I don't think her mom will ever approve of me... ;)

2 days until our trip!!! And our t-shirts look awesome! I  Kevin!!!

Welcome! Be careful, you might become a Disney Design Addict! :goodvibes
Amy :)
After finding this thread, looking at all the great designs, and knowing I have a 10 day DCL cruise coming up I think I may become addicted and get my mom to become addicted as well. All I have to do is make her come here and see all the great designs and then she will want me to design shirts!!!! I already do the magnets, but the shirts would be great. Thanks for the inspiration.

This has been bothering me a little ... sorry! I love the design, but have a DNephew that is so allergic to peanut butter that he nearly died eating a Hershey Kiss... apparently they don't contain peanuts but are made on the same machine as candies that MAY contain nuts. Anyway... what do you think of the wording....

Soda, popcorn, a donut with jelly --- plenty of foods to fill your belly.

Does anybody think this is a good switch???

I actually like the 'meter' of this one better. Maybe because the # of syllables in the two parts of the phrase are more 'balanced' ?? :scratchin

I wrote the first one and am not offended at all if you want it changed. I know that many people are allergic to peanuts, but since not everyone is I thought is would be ok.

It could be changed to "lots of Jelly"
" toast and jelly", '"nothing smelly" there are lots of possibilities. Anything is fine with me.

Here are some to start with:
Mad Hatter's Hilarious Hats
Specializing in "un"birthday hats
Need a hat big or small - Mad Hatter's has them all

Evil Queen's Magical Mirror (I combined the two is that ok?)
Designed for the Fairest in the Land
Think you look great? Come on In don't hesitate.

Here are two for Alice. Nothing just came to me.

Alice's Women's Wonderland
Everything A woman Needs
For women large or small - Try Alice's we have it all

Alice's Wrinkle Wonderland
Filling your pressing needs
Have a wrinkle, crease or crinkle - we'll remove it in a twinkle

What other characters would you like done?

Aargh! I've been away from this thread for about a week and now it's going to take HOURS to catch up!

I've been trying to get everything ready for my trip in 3 weeks (WDW & Cruise) so I have been working on T-shirts, pillow cases, door magnets, etc.!

My latest design is based on a design that was first post on page 4 of this thread by Okwoodsmith. Since the Photoshop file was also posted, I was able to make my own modifications. I changed the colors in the background since I am putting it on a green shirt. Since we have been going to WDW twice per year since long before our son was born, I have a LOT of photos of him from all our vacations. I noticed that the pictures on the Tea Cups are almost always good (it is one of his favorite rides). Since he is six this year and there are six letters in "Disney" it was a no brainer to fill them in with a picture from each year.

Wow! I'm loving the 7 dwarves designs!!! There are 8 of us going on our trip coming up in a few weeks - and that's perfect! I'm going to surprise everyone and assign them an appropriate dwarf to be, and of course, one of the little girls will be snow white!

Thank you all for sharing your hard work and creativity! I'd love to post a picture of how my t-shirt design came out (I used the one on pg 4 by okwoodsmith as well) but I can't remember how I linked my picture at the bottom!!! How do I post a picture? I'm not a computer novice, either!! :) THanks for your help!

You guys are too much.

Just when I think I have decided which transfers to use, you come up with something else.

We are only going for 7 days (including travel). With 7 of us going, that is 49 t-shirts to do. First of all, would everyone wear a new t-shirt each day? Would the 20 somethings think that is just weird? But, if they don't wear theirs, then the whole 7 dwarf thing just fizzles, right?

And wait, how much will this cost me? 49 t-shirts, 100 sheets of transfer paper, OMG! This will no longer be a cheap trip to WDW!

I am such a lurker, but would love to join you all somewhere. I live in Central Illinois and could host a game night here.

Hi all, :wave2:
Since it seems only fitting to post a WDW picture, no pics of my family until AFTER our trip since we have not been in nearly 6 years ( :earseek: Wow!!! Has it been that long?)
Anyone else going to be down there 10/25 to 11/1? We're at POR and will be decked out in all these fabulous T shirts (plus a big Green Mickey on the stroller) say hi if you see us!

PS: I have already conned DH into going next December to see the World decorated for Christmas. We will probably be at a moderate since we are talking about going Pop Warner week and want to steer clear of the values. Deluxe probably will be too expensive since DS will be 3 and well have to pay for him that time. Anyway, which moderate is the best at Christmas?

How did you get your picture to change like it did? And yes, I did get dizzy!!

I think I used photoshop for that one but if you do a search for gif animator then you should be able to download a program. Then you just add each pic and it will combine them into one.

Any tips on making shirts? Do I need to reverse this? Can someone tell me how to reverse it?

These ARE wonderful, I have to say that the villians are MY favorite. However, I know my sister's daughter would love an alice shirt- when the time comes- I won't see her until mid-October.

I think you have all of the shops covered for the characters- except the prince. I don't have any suggestions though.

oops - I knew I forgot someone - we have Tinkerbell - I might add her - she also has minnie mouse

and reminds me daily that she needs Mulan, Pocohantas, and the red belle dress and meg - she's not into esmerelda!
Wait 'til you get to WDW. They have Cinderella's NEW dress out everywhere! It's the white one she wears in the Cinderellabration show in front of the castle....the one she's crowned in :) And if you get the dress, you HAVE to get the crown, wig, shoes, jewels, wand, gloves..... :faint:

First, I want to thank all of the talented designers that contributed to our shirts. You are all so awesome! I am not sure DH appreciates my efforts, but at least I am happy that I have some shirts ready for our upcoming trip.

I used the dark transfer paper that Julia & Nick's Mom purchased through Ebay. (Thanks again J&N's Mom!! for everything)

I purchased parchment paper from the grocery store in the baking pan aisle to use for ironing on. I followed the instructions provided for the dark transfer paper.

Here are the shirts I have made so far. I like how they came out, even though if you look closely you can see a few small flaws. I'm not sure if I will make any more or not. If I do I will post those later.

ACK! After following this thread since it started May 30, I finally printed my transfer's and attempted ironing them on...it was a disaster! They almost looked burned in the center. I kept the iron moving, I used Burlington for dark shirts, and have ruined 2 so far. It says you can reuse the tissue paper topper, but my DH is convinced it is a little burned and it's rubbing off on the transfer. Anyone try to use something else over the top? I've used a pillowcase on light paper once (as per instructions).

Don't get what I did wrong...well, one thing was to use an ironing board instead of a hard flat surface.

We leave on the 1st...got to get them done!!

Oops, just read the previous page...apparently parchment paper will work to lay over the design and iron on.

CheriePenguin

I am so addicted to this thread, it's not funny! :goodvibes

I got one set of matching Mickey shirts on sale at the Disney store for $5 each before 4th of July. I really want to design some additional shirts for myself and DS (and DH if I can get him to wear them!), and have been borrowing a few images and lots of ideas from everyone here. Thanks for all the hard work and great commaraderie! :flower:

I also want to make a "Disney Mom" bag. I downloaded a Disney font to make the words, and I'm trying to collect Disney Mom and child clipart. I have a few, but some aren't too good. Any good ones anyone has of Dumbo + Mom, Bambi + Mom, Kanga + Roo, or others I'm forgetting?

Also, the bag I bought at Michael's says it's a paintable canvas bag, no pre-washing needed, hand wash only. Do you think transfers will work on it, or should I put the transfers on other material and sew it on, or just look for another bag?

Thanks for any clipart, tips, and suggestions!

Here are two pictures of DH (Paul aka Mgkkngdm) and DS 7 (and my dad, because I don't have that many digital pictures on my computer yet!!!!). The reason I'm including the second picture is because these are the first t-shirts I ever made for DH's 40th birthday in April -- LONG before this great thread existed!!!! We got many, many comments because of them - but I think that's because I used photographs of my DH as a baby on each of the t-shirts. People knew instantly that I made them and most were curious and all were complimentary. Thought you'd be interested!

Okay all - I just finished making 65 :earseek: shirts for another DISer - I haven't even started mine yet - this is what I learned

The paper from ebay is just AWESOME!!! I have used Avery, Print and press and brother but this just was so easy!!!!

The dark paper was rather simple to use - but don't forget to peel the backing!!! and don't put it on your wood kitchen table - I may have to iron the whole thing now so it all looks burned!! (I actually like the burned color better!!!) I used two pillowcases and a shirt as a buffer and it still burned my table!!

Formica is really the best! I moved there after the table burned (I will post pictures)

on the light shirts - I pressed hard on the iron and I didn't put a pillowcase between the shirt and counter - it worked best this way - I also rotated my way around the counter - I found when it got too hot the transfer did not hold to the shirt as well - I think the heat was working on both sides and confusing the transfer as to where it should go (does that make sense)

I made the transfers as big as could on the paper for the adult shirts - about 8.5 tall on the youth shirts and about 5x7 on the toddler shirts

I will take pictures and as long as the other DISer does not mind I will post them for you!!

this is what will happen on your wooden kitchen table -

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b17/disneyshirts/Summer2005653.jpg

you can use the ironing board but it absorbs the heat and the transfers will take longer and might be more likely to burn (at least I think that is the answer) sounds good - doesn't it? ;)

I think it's because the padding absorbs the heat, and because it's too soft.

this is what will happen on your wooden kitchen table -

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b17/disneyshirts/Summer2005653.jpg

you can use the ironing board but it absorbs the heat and the transfers will take longer and might be more likely to burn (at least I think that is the answer) sounds good - doesn't it? ;)

Thank you!

We went to the Miami (Oh) vs UC game tonight and as I walked through the student entrance I was randomly (?) selected to participate in a half-time event sponsored by the GMAC (to promote the GMAC bowl).

We (myself vs 4 others) had to race to the 50 yard line (from the 30, not from the endzone!) put on these gloves, then proceed to put on shoulder pads (making sure to fasten the straps), a football jersey and the helmet in 1:30 or less. The first person won a 1,000 scholarship! DH had to drag me kicking and screaming because I thought it was a HORRIBLE idea....

but now I have the big check, along with a nice little prize pack, and we're entered to win a trip to the GMAC bowl (right near you, I think!) where I could play the same game to win a car!

The odds are not too hot to win this next drawing, but still... it was fun! :Pinkbounc

I did a practice shirt today. I put the Alabama Mickey on both shirt sleeves and my name DEE DEE with characters on the front. I used a hard back book and a cutting board. For the front I slid the cutting board between the front and back of the shirt and for the sleeves I put a hard back book inside the sleeve. This worked great and every thing came out as it should. If I every get time I will try to master posting pics. I did this on the ironing board as it was about the right height to iron (DUH). LOL. Every thing turned out great. Thanks to all the talented designers. :cheer2:

Hello everyone! Anyone still awake??? :teeth: I have a question for you all - we are going to Disney with my parents next weekend. My dad's birthday is while we are there, so part of the trip is kind of a birthday present (and the fact that they can watch DS while DH and I run the races is a wonderful thing!!!) :flower: So... I made three different possible designs for his shirt. (Yes, I am making him wear a shirt!) Keep in mind he doesn't really like alot of attention, but is a good sport (especially when the shirt will be from his grandson). He doesn't really have a favorite character, but likes Mickey. He plays tuba - therefore the band one, and DS is a pooh-freak (see pic #3). Soooo... which one do you like?

Well, I would love to have your opinions! Oh, and if anyone is at Disney on Oct. 8 and 9 - DH and I will be in the Komen 5K (through Animal Kingdom) on the 8th, and the Disney 10K (through Wide World, MGM, and Epcot) on the 9th. I'm still finalizing designs for my running shirts. I'll post them so you can know what to look for. Any cheers would be greatly appreciated! (I'll probably be the very last runner...)

Thanks!! See you in the morning!

Steamboat Marti...

I saw that you replied (in no time, might I add) to another thread I started. Well, I THOUGHT I started it, but I couldn't find it, so I tried again... then I thought it was a duplicate, now they're both gone. So whatever.... too tired to deal with it, the picture is here :)

Actually, the money was won at a contest at a football game (read above reply to triplefigs). And it's actually a scholarship, but certaily the $1,000 saved will go towards our trip!

hey guys - I am not going to be puttng my screen name on my shirt - but I probably will put a Mickey head on all of my sleeves -

I will let you all vote - jade is my favorite color and I think I prefer it over the lime green - what do you all think

My pick is also top left..........good idea not putting you screen name on them since that is your kids name.....smart thinking!!!

well you all are just no help at all!!! :rotfl:

oh - I take that back- no one voted for the lime green one!!!

I still can't decide

the top left one would show the color of the shirt through it- so that might be cute! and tie the whole thing together - but I like the pop the black gives the other two

maybe I will do an assortment

so - if you see someone at the park with any of those 3 mickey's on her sleeve - it is me!!

I will be there October 7 (late not in parks) through October 16 - we are staying at the Wilderness lodge!!

lovespoohbear...go ahead and use any design I have.

If anyone would like to buttons/pins or keychains with a saying or design I would be more than happy to make them. Someone could come up with a logo or saying. My grandfather does this at festivals during the summer and fall (every weekend). We already have all the stuff to make them. If interested, PM me for more details.

I too like black with jade center. Hope I'm not making things worse!

Do you have an itinerary? I'll be there 10/14 to 10/23. I'm going Friday the 14th with just my oldest DD(6) and we'll be joined by a friend from FL with her DD(6). She's driving from Jacksonville after work Friday so may not arrive until after 8pm. We may or may not do parks Friday-our plane lands at 2pm. My Dprincess says she'll be too tired from traveling (2 1/2 hours on the plane ;) ) and she wants to just hang out at the beach and pool. Then Sat 10/15 we will hit Epcot for Soarin & Test Track in the morning moving over to WS when it opens so the girls can do passports and masks. Then we have a Fantasmic dinner package with a 4:30 seating. Hey-I think she's right-she better rest up! Then Sunday we have 8:10 ADR for CP. The rest of my crew (DH, DS(4 1/2), DD(2 1/2) and DearestFriend join us Sunday night. Their plane lands at 6:30.

crazy4pooh-I like the band one best for your Dad too but I really like the Pooh one too. Could you change the wording for your son to wear while celebrating your Dad's day?

Thanks for the suggestion! I was wondering about that too. Maybe something like "It's my Pah-Pah's birthday" on the top and keep the celebrating on the bottom??? I may have to split the top phrase because it will be on a smaller shirt (2T). Hmmmm.... so many possiblities! :goodvibes I'll work on it and post when DS goes down for his nap. ;)

Lucky you! My 2 year old doesn't need no stinking naps! Except at Disney in her stroller. At home she only power naps for the 10 minute ride home from her big brother's preschool. She's our firecracker!

Has your DS seen the new Pooh playground yet?

I just printed out MidNite's Epcot design (thank you MidNite!) and it turned out light blue. Is it my printer? Or is it supposed to look like that when it's printed backwards on a white fabric transfer? I have plenty of black ink so I can't figure out why it didn't turn out silver/gray like the original.

;) Naptime is more "play in your room by yourself time" (and give Mommy time on the DIS...) :teeth: I put him down and he plays usually for 30 - 45 minutes before falling asleep for a while. Occasionally we have the days where he plays through his entire naptime - and is a little monster the rest of the night!!! :earseek: Disney is awesome though - falls asleep at 3:00 on the dot every time, whether in the stroller, in the backpack, or if we are holding him. Hmmmm... maybe I should just take him to Disney every day so he'll take his nap!

We went to the playground a couple weeks ago - he LOVED it!!!!! We actually had to drag him out of Pooh's house so we could leave. He had a blast!!! Have you seen it yet? It is so perfect - just the right size for the toddlers/preschoolers, and not too much to get them overwhelmed. Oh, and he loved the slide through the log! Too much fun! :goodvibes

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a61/crzy4pooh/HBpah-pah5copy.jpg

I haven't printed any of the designs for DS on the transfer paper, yet - what is the best image size for a 2T/3T shirt? I tried 5x7 for a sample, but it seemed too small. Short of pinning a sample design on a shirt and making him wear it to see what looks best... which he probably won't go for... I'm just not sure what size to use. Any of you have experience with this? What worked for you? Thanks! :flower:

You're very welcome. It sounds like not enough red or yellow was in the ink? Maybe your nozzle on your ink is clogged? My yellow ink was clogged the other day so I know how it can look weird when that happens. Try running a nozzle check or something similar.

OKAY - how cool is this!! Ijust got this PM -

someone from WDW actually came looking for a design she saw on someone there!!!!!

I think I might be the one who referred her to you. My husband was wearing the Disney Yankees shirt and a woman asked about it for her son - I told her about the DIS and said I thought it was your design. This was at the GF food court. We got lots of comments on the homemade shirts from other guests and also from CMs. :flower:

We were at Disney last year when the Red Sox won. The Red Sox came to the MK after the win and I think they marched in the parade??? We didn't find out about it til after they did. SO...tell you DH if they win he can see them at Disney. We were able to watch all the games on TV.

Man ... what a little monkey wrench for me! LOL I am desperately trying to get my neighbor to commit to a "plan" --- but it's been like nailing Jell-O to a tree! LOL

The only "plan" she has given me was a castle breakfast for her DD --- she has NO idea what it took to get that. (I digress) So ... in making plans ... I managed to get CRT on MK day and Storybook on EPCOT Day. (I got Storybook first -- then managed to swing CRT. We are choosing from ONE of the two. I was sending DH with the boys over to Ohana. I figuired Chip & Dale would "work" cause we didn' twant them too far away from the MK.

I was *supposed* to go to CRT -- but now I'm torn cause I want to see my son with Stitch ... yet I have a burning desire to eat in the castle. LOL

Just talked to DH about my problem and he said ... DO BOTH! I love him! So ... I am going to plan Ohana's for a day other than CRT and they will do breakfast over at SOG.

OK ... I'm just loving him tonight. :)

Guess who will be calling Disney Dining in the morning?????????

That's fantastic!! It's my birthday during out trip so I could get DH2B to wear this one...

Is there any way we could make a birthday design in this vein...? All the shirts I've tried to design don't look half as professional!

We are doing the single digit dance!!!!

:cool1: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:  :bounce: :jumping1: :dancer: :thewave:

But I have 2 sick girls! One with a cold & one with streph throat! At least it is this week and not next!! I feel like I am coming down with something too but no time lots of packing, shirt ironing & birthday planning to do! :confused3

Can't wait to look for disers there!

get some rest! I tried to work through the "I think i'm coming down with something" thing last week, then got a full blown cold - after two days of going to work and coming home so tired I couldn't even open my laptop to do my holiday planning and check this thread (!!) I ended up in bed for two days!
One day of rest in the beginning would probably have been much more effective... don't tell my DH2B that though as that's what he tried to tell me! :rolleyes1

I think the YQE code is a discount code? I know that a load of discounts have just been released for November and if you call Disney you can see if a cheaper room is available for the dates you are staying.

Is this right... anyone?

Our flight leaves at 4:15 p.m. I still need to pack, but Kevin and Alyssa are all ready to go! :teeth:

I'll miss "harrassing" you Kate...I hope we come back to this thread being another 50 pages long, so our Disney withdrawal isn't too bad.

By the way, our t-shirts turned out awesome! We'll be sure to post pictures upon our return. Kevin is quite the expert, but he's still shaking his head in disbelief that Kate made 65 shirts the other night. He said you should buy a heat press Kate! :earboy2:

See you all soon!
Amy :)

Brendita, Happy Birthday!!!!!!!

Amy & Kevin, & Disneygrl36 have a great trip..we leave tom'w at 6:30am! Maybe we will see you there.

All of my 3 kids are coming down with something...my 4 year old dd had a slight fever for 3 days but is still coughing...my 6 year old ds doesn't have a fever but says his throat hurts. I hope he is not coming down with strep. I love going away in the fall (away from the cold too..its cold here in NY today) but I hate that this is the time of year my kids seem to come down with something...in Dec 2002 we had a trip not to be forgotten..all 3 kids vomiting every day...I don't want to repeat that!!!!

So I am not the only one who has sick kids on vacation? I thought I was just cursed.

If we don't end up at the Drs. office the day before we leave, then I can almost bet that we will find a Dr. on vacation. We did both in August. DD6 ripped off big toenail day before we left, and DS11 ended up with an ear infection and bronchitis during vacation.

Our trips to WDW have been just as exciting. We don't have much vomiting, but ear infections, strep, you name it, we've done it. I even ended up at the ER one year after suffering a miscarriage while at WDW.

Hopefully this year all will be well. I guess I better start giving everyone vitamins now!
