Very cute. Where are you finding all of the dwarf clipart? I come up with ideas and magically you have the clipart to match. I can't wait to see more.
My dh just walked in the room. He also thinks this is cute. I read my other slogans to him and now he is also waiting to see the results.

What happened to the Snow White weddings one that someone mentioned the other day? I would love to see it. As you can tell from my avatar, she is my favorite and I will be disneymooning in 10/06 (if all goes according to plan) and I would love to have a shirt w/that. I already know that my ''official'' proposal will incorporate Snow White in some way. :love2:

I think that one is still in the works. Ladylucca is doing them one at a time and the first dwarf one came out today. Be patient and I'm sure we'll see it soon.

it is ridiculous what my kids can talk my DH into!!! The second Julia was born she wrapped him so far around every finger it was pathetic!!!
My DH is adopted so our kids are the only blood relatives he has - he was born with some facial birth defects and really struggled with me being pregnant - he was so afraid he might pass on his birth defects - it is amazing to watch the wonder he has that he created such perfect beautiful children - he is a really good daddy and my kids both adore him - it is hard not to be wraped around someone's finger when she crawls up in your lap hugs you real tight and says "You're the BEST daddy in the whole world!!!! I love you very much!"

Hi everyone -
just tried to make my first t-shirt with not much luck! The backing paper doesn't want to seem to come off and when I try to pull it it looks like someone of the design is coming with it. I went over it again with the iron but not all spots are adhered. Any suggestions??

Mine does the same thing.. what type of transfers are you using? I've been using the "Print-N-Press" I'm going to switch to the Avery type as soon as I can get to wal mart.. I have a shirt that I bought with a design on the back.. and I want to put one of my own on the front... but I'm scared to until I get the process straight. Let me know what you find out!!

Wow, I had to keep the iron on it for a lot more than the 15 seconds recommended. Only problem is (my stupidity) I used a dark t-shirt and you couldnt see the design. I did call the company because Michael's didn't have any specific for dark shirts and they said I could use them - didn't work. So I went back to Michaels and got another shirt (they were on sale for $2.33) and got some iron-on transfers for dark shirts at walmart and I'll try it again tomorrow. Anyone know of where to get iron-ons for dark shirts at a good price??
One last thing - on the iron-ons for dark shirts like printing on white paper? In other words, will everything show up?
Thanks for your help!

I was using the june tailor print n' press. It seems like you just really have to have the iron on it for a long time and it needs to cool off completely. I just got the avery at walmart and I'm gonna give that a try tomorrow.
Good luck!!

It will be just like printing on white paper and you do not print the image in reverse. What you see coming out of the printer will be exactly what you get on the shirt. I've used the Avery many times and have had no problem with them.

You are all so creative :worship: Do any of you have anything that relates to the Pirate Cruise from the GF? We are surprising DS 6 with this and wanted to leave some sort of invitation on his pillow. If any of you have any sort of logo that I could add some personalized info (his name, date, time) I would print it out and us is as an invitation instead of on a shirt. That would be too much for me :confused3

Hello!!
we really liked Fever Pitch - although I had to listen to DH talk about his first game and how much he loves the Reds (yes he is a glutten for punishment!!!!) and get his version of Red Sox history!!
I put the transfers in the mail today to everyone except Triple Figs, Tink2020 and two others (sorry I forgot who) - one is shipping to Canada and the other 3 weighed enough that it will be cheaper to put them in a flat rate priority mail envelope than to pay regualr postage - I had no idea transfers would weigh so much!!!
So everyone should be getting them in the next few days - then I expect to see the finished shirts thread grow!!!!!

I can't wait to print my husbands shirt tomorrow. It's the tie-dyed looking one with grumpy that says "keep back 200 feet" and I will put it ont he back of his shirt (you know how some people in disney are right between your cheeks in line!!)
I did notice that the Avery ones tell you not to reverse the print. It mentions something about a template. Do you have to do that or do you just print it on the sheet. I've been using "paint" and I just make sure it's all OK. I'd hate to mess even 1 up. I paid almost $10 for 5 transfers.
Does anyone know if I should use the dark shirt transfers for yellow shirts? They are the color yellow of this smily :cool1: . I'm thinking I should just to be on the safe side.
thanks again for your help!

Hi, all! Just walked in the door from our LOOOOONNNNNGGGGG day (did the visit all in one day to avoid having to spend the night...). DH's grandmother has Alzheimer's and now her kidney is working at 50%. We spent 4.5 hours at the hospital today with her, and she never even woke up. DH feels good that we made the trip, just in case.
My family in Houston all evacuated safely to Waco, TX and should head back to Houston in the next day or so. Don't expect any damage at all- thank goodness! And my parents are spending the weekend with my Brother and SIL in south MS helping repair the roof. Seems like it's all getting better!
So, thanks for the prayers and good wishes. DH and I are heading to bed. We drove over 7 hours today with the kids and then spent the rest of our time at the hospital, so we're exhausted.
Night!
Well, took a shot at Kate's character names to use for the back of our shirts. Here they are:

I do all my printing from "paint" too. When you go into "page set up", select in the lower right in "scaling" .."fit 1 to 1 pages". Then do a print preview to make sure it's all on 1 page. That should work. You do not have to reverse the image for dark transfers & yes I would use dark transfer paper on any color shirt (except white)even a light color. Good luck, I hope the next batch come out well!

If you are doing yout transfer with dark transfer paper on a colored shirt you don't have to reverse the image. "Standard orientation" would mean to me that you do not print reverse.

Gosh, have I gotten behind!! A week or two away and I'm pages and pages behind. Catching up has brought smiles to my face and tears to my eyes. I'm so glad you are all still here, sharing and looking out for one another. All the new designs are fabulous!! Especially love the Snow White ones. My dd is dressing up like her for Halloween. I've got the shirts and the transfer paper for our Christmas/birthday trip but I'm kind of scared to put them together just yet. My husband's parents are going with us and I'm afraid they will cancel at the last minute. Still debating about the color of my birthday shirt. I'm wearing J&N's mom's Treat me like a princess design which is mostly pink. Kind of leaning toward a lime green one. I don't like white. I stain too easily. Has anyone done one? What color did you use? Thanks and I'm never staying away this long again.

Has anyone used the stick people mickey and minnie on a design yet? If so how did it turn out when you printed it? I'm trying to do one and the stick people keep coming out pixelated when they are printed. Any suggestions?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Kate,
I love the Canadian Mickey Head. Would you be able to do the Canadian Mickey Head and an Australian Mickey Head and then Mickey near the Canadian Head and Minnie near the Australian head?
DH is Canadian and I am an Aussie - that would be cool. Should I PM you a request?
Thank you for my other designs, I have printed them but not ironed them onto t-shirts. When I do I will post pictures.

well.. I fignally figured out what my problem was with the transfers (after I went out and bought the avery ones LOL).. my iron wasn't hot enough :rolleyes1 LOL.. I just wanted to smack my self in the head :) now that I've figured that out I'm trying to decide which one washes the best before I put it on my one "important" shirt.. the one I bought with a design already on it on the back.... Once I can figure out how to post images on here I'll add pics of all the shirts I've done... I did 3 tye dye shirts so far... and 2 transfer shirts have been done... now I need to get more t-shirts :).. still hunting for white tank tops.... I have another design request ASAP Please!!! I'm going to CRT the day after my birthday for breakfast with "royalty" :cool1: I'd love a birthday shirt with the princesses on it... something that says it's my b-day and i'm celebrating it royalty style or something like that???? I'd love to see if anybody has something like that
THANKS... without this board I never would have had any t-shirts

For those of ya'll who have already made your shirts, which is more durable Avery or HP? Having done shirts many times (Girl Scouts, bday parties, etc.) I have never come across transfer paper that holds up well and I really need some suggestions. But then again I haven't bought any paper in about two years so it may be better now.
Also, we're printing on white shirts, do I get the dark shirt paper for a "richer" looking color, but then have white around the artwork that may or may not be noticeable or get the transfer paper for light shirts?
Thanks!!!!

I bought the Avery transfer paper for dark shirts and I like the way the pictures came out alot better than the couple I did on light colored transfer paper.
I too am wondering how they wash afterwards. I am going to go with flipping them inside out, washing on cold and hanging to dry. And I'm not going to do it until everyone has worn their shirts! So I don't end up sobbing all over a possible mess :rotfl2:
I also bought a bunch of the Hanes 50/50 shirts at AC Moore this weekend (were on sale for $2.49) then I needed another white youth one so I found that at Michael's for $3.49... the one from Michael's is a Jerzee's brand and the t- shirt was a little bit thicker. I thought was nicer... especially with a white t-shirt.

Ok. We weathered Rita well, although she put me waaaaaaayyyyyy behind schedule. We leave Thursday. I had planned on working on my shirts this weekend, but ended up working at the Casino/Hotel I work for. Our power went out early Saturday morning. The hotel gave us a room, but I earned it. So many people called out and did not come to work. My DD's 11 and 8 and I rolled silverware for the buffet. Later I even ended up busing tables for a couple of hours. Never done that before and have a new appreciation for those that do! Hard work.
I was able to get one shirt done and it turned out really well. It was the Polynesian Princess design I posted a few days ago. My DD's loved it. Will post pictures later. One down 12 to go!

The dwarf designs are all amazing... I look forward to seeing new ones every time I come on.
Prayers and PD :wizard: to those affected by the big storms this season. I hope all is well and there is no more to come. I try to keep a balance between staying informed on what is going on down there and keeping my mind on things that are going on in my own life.
My goddaughter (age 1) just recently went through open heart surgery and she is recovering wonderfully. We spent Wed at the hospital during the surgery and we went back to see her Friday. She is slowly returning to her normal self! She is at home now and we hope to go see her tomorrow evening. Please keep the little princess: in your prayers.
I started packing last night! I've never done a packing list before, but you guys have inspired me to give it a shot. Hopefully it will mean less stress - which would be a good thing! :)

This is my busy time at work and I haven't been around here much. I got caught up on the 80+ pages I missed over the weekend. All the designs are amazing. LOVE the dwarf ones!
I bought a craft magazine this weekend and it had instructions on how to decropage (sp??) comic strips onto plain white canvas sneakers. I was thinking it would so cool to do that with some of these great designs. When I get a chance I'll see if the magazine has a website or maybe I could scan a few of the photos. I suppose it would be better to actually try making some and post photos of Disney sneakers but I know I won't get around to doing that before my trip in 17 days. :earseek: Like I said this is the crazy time at work for me but then I get to take a vacation. :teeth:
cassi-I've been meaning to tell you how beautiful that precious little girl is-she makes me smile everytime I see her photo. She is absolutely in my prayers.

i was thinking of making this shirt for my friends but realized we r doing Goofy's Kitchen in Disneyland....is there anyway to incorporate Goofy into the design? If not, no worries!! they still came out great!
Did the front of our and our friend's t-shirts last night. They turned out great except for the first one that I burnt a little. I'll probably re-do it tonight. Pictures will come after the trip (less than 4 days away   ). They'll look much nicer with the appropriate backdrop.
Now, I need some advice ... I am putting our character names on the back of the shirts. How do you iron the transfer on the back without affecting the transfer on the front? I did a test with a small cutting board last night. But the cutting board could not stand the heat of the iron and warped. I don't think I have anything else small enough to fit inside the shirt. Can I simply iron on the back without putting something in the middle of the shirt? Will this affect the front transfer? Anyone with experience, please let me know. I really don't want to ruin all my work from last night with trial and error. Thanks.

I think someone had posted that they used their ironing board to iron on both sides. Put the t-shirt over the ironing board so the top transfer is hanging underneath. I think if you iron the back with the front transfer directly underneath getting heat it might ruin it. Did this make any sense :rotfl:

When I did our Dwarf auto shirts I used the folded pillow case that I was ironing on and slipped it into the shirt between the front and back, but be very careful not to have any wrinkles in any of the layers as it will leave a crease in the design. With my little kids shirts I did not put anything between the layers, but made sure there were no wrinkles and they came out fine too.

Here is how you do both sides.
Follow the instructions as list on transfers.
Put the ironing board up.
Wood cutting board layer that with a double sheet or pillow case.
Slip the shirt through letting shirt hang down.
I used my big pullout cutting board from the kitchen.
For all my transfers.
You do need to put the pillow case.
So your layers are.
Cutting board, pillow case, shirt, transfer, transfer tissue paper.
Hope this helps.

I HAVE NO FORMICA!!!! And I have to do the shirts today!!! (We leave tomorrow!!) HELP!!
Can anyone suggest something else to place the shirt on to iron it? I have wood floors... could I layer a couple of pieces of cardboard on them? I have some sections of peel and still tile... would that work???? All my countertops are granite and I wont use them.... I have some tiled floors, but I am worried about them cracking with the heat!
HELP I need ironing tips!!!!

do you have a basement - with a concrete floor? or what about in the garage? - just put a pillowcase under it -what is your kitchen table like?

Thank you, I am getting very excited! This is my 1st trip alone with the boys, it should be an adventure :goodvibes I will take plenty of pics & I am taking my laptop, so hopefully I will have time to post while we are there.
Have fun! How old are your boys? I would love to take the kids to WDW for spring break, but it would be by myself. They are such good kids, mind me, listen. I know we'd probably be ok, but I'm just wondering what age would be the best for a solo mom and kids trip? They'd be 5.5 when we'd go in April.

I haven't seen the chip costume, but I would think that you could use hula hoops to make the frame and use a lightweight fabric for the "cup". I'm sure that he would also be cute as cogsworth or lumiere (or maybe hubby). How about Nick as the prince. That could be made with light weigt fabrics.

Cogsworth should be pretty easy to make. Double cardboard body (like those signs people wear), paint the pendulum on the body, paint his face with the clock hands, and put a brown hat on! Have him wear a yellow shirt and brown pants.
For Lumiere: yellow shirt and pants, wear a white hat and put a felt flame on top (and put a glowstick behind it so it actually glows). He could hold flashlight for the hands (so they'd light up).

You might get alittle more definition to the mickey head if you use a stensil for that part?
Basicly cut out the mickey head from a sheet of posterboard, put it over shirt and spray the head.. then do the rest of the shirt free hand?
Looks good though.

Found another site you can use to see what the designs will look like on the shirts..
Has diffrent colors of shirts so you can see what color would look best for the design you want!
http://www.zazzle.com/design/shirt/default.asp
You don't have to buy anything... Just use it to get an idea on what the shirts will look like before you make them yourself!
EDIT: interesting.. you can then email the shirt design to yourself and save the pic.. only does it in white though.. i tried emailing the shirt in red.. but got this one..

They also print your designs on shirts..
I THINK they might be alot better quality then the iron ons and last alot longer (like a normal store bought shirt)
But i'm afraid to try.. lol
I'm going to search the web and see if i can find feedback on someone who bought shirts from them and see what kinda quality they are..
Cause what does it cost for an iron on?
Average for a shirt and transfer?
$3 shirt and $2 transfer sheet?
and how many washes does it last?

We did a variation on this using the spray paints for our kids shirts this last trip. We made a paste of flour and water (about the consistency of mustard). We put it into a squeeze bottle and outlined a medium sized Mickey cookie cutter on the t-shirts. We did several outlines on a shirt. Then we put the shirts in the sun to dry. A few hours later, the paste was hard, and we took the spray paint and painted the shirts (red and blue for the boys, hot pink and lime green for the girls). Once the paint was dry, we scraped the flour paste off the shirts and there was a really sharp Mickey outline in the paint. It looked so cool!!! The kids were thrilled with them. :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: My sister and I got the idea from the July Family Fun magazine. It was so easy we even let our 6 year olds paint and there wasn't too much mess. :rolleyes1

I saw that in FF magazine and wondered if it would work for disney. You could do tons of Disney designs with that. I'd love to see your pictures!
I'm not really computer savvy, but if you give me "computers for dummies" instructions I could try. I have them on my digital camera, so if all else fails, I could email them to you and have you post them. I'd love for you all to see the shirts I made.

I'm in northern Utah, about 6 hours away from Vegas by car. I'd love to do a meet and say thank you in person to the people who helped make my vacation so wonderful. I know I don't say much on the boards, but I read every word, and admire every picture. You all sound like so much fun I would love to get to know you all personally. Anyone who loves Disney this much can't be bad, right????

Okay I have transfer paper for light colored shirts. I have white shirts. Now I read something about the tissue paper or some type of paper to use over the top of the transfer when ironing. I did not get anything with my transfer paper. Is this what peels off the back of the paper after you iron it on. If so should I keep this in case I have to re-iron it. I have been reading this thread from the beginning and love all the designs. We are not going until october 2006 but I want a disney shirt NOW. LOL
Thanks for the help.

I believe the tissue paper is for the transfer paper for dark shirts. Read, and then reread, the instructions that came with your paper, and then follow them to a T, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Thanks Tammie67. I was getting worried there for a minute. My instructions does not say to reverse the image but I am sure I need to. I am going to reverse the first one and see what happens. :worried: :worried: :worried:

I just returned from DL where I picked myself up a Mickey antenna topper with sparkly gold ears. It makes me so happy every time I get in my car! :earsgirl:
I wanted to get more, but DH says I only have one car and it only has one antenna. But look how many holidays there are, and I could change them around. Oh well, something to start collecting each time I go. I REALLY like the Goofy one.
::yes:: We have a basket of them under our entry-way bench. Every now and then DD decides it's time to change and goes digging for a new one :) We have the golden Mickey ears right now, too, but come Oct. 1, we have to decide between ghost Mickey and pumpkin Mickey....or the pirate! Ack! Decisions!

How is the print? Is it like an iron on? Or more like what you would find on a store bought shirt?
I'm looking for a less plastic feeling.. and also looking for it to wear better after washings
Is it like screen printed on the shirt?
Hehe... last one..
On a scale of 1-10 with the iron ons being a 5...
How is it?

it's very good.... very similar to a store bought... the only comment that DH has was that it is off centered.. which is probably my fault since you can move the images and I didn't move mine at all. I'd say it's probably a 8 or 9.. it did fade a bit when i "prewashed" it inside out... but it's just slight fading.. I added my own iron-on transfer to it tonight... turned out good... I'm going to take pics of all my shirts tomorrow and I'll see if i can't get them on here so everyone can see. Still trying to find somewhere where I can buy tank-tops and t-shirts for cheap so I can make some more designs :) :smooth:

J&N's Mom,
What about using a pillowcase for a chip costume. Plan on slipping it on Nick like a sleeping bag except the closed end will be put over his head. Cut a hole at the top of it and slip it over his head. His head and neck will stick out. Put eyes on it and a mouth. For a handle maybe get some flexible foam or plastic pipe. Have him try it on so you know where to place the mouth, handle, etc. Cut out holes on the side for arms. Make the bottom purple, with yellow. Either use paint or fabric. If you wanted right above the purple you could. fold it over a bit and baste stitch it and cut a hole at the back, put a string in and gather it this way you could stuff it a bit if you wanted or you could just let it hand lose at the bottom. If you have any questions you can PM me.

After reading about the tie dye, I was worried about the amount of paint we'd need for these shirts, but I was pleasantly surprised. We still have most of the bottles left over and we did 10 shirts. I'm planning on doing some sweatshirts for Christmas for my kids using this technique. It was fun, fast and easy. All good things in my book!

I see that a few of you have gotten the transfers. I messed out on ordering, so I figured I might as well see how they are before trying to orer some myself.
Has anyone tried ironing one on yet?
And the other important question ... has anytone tried WASHING with one on?
And .... anyone got any ideas on how to convince a friend that this is a really cool idea? (I did manage to convince her to order personalized ears before our trip!)
