Totally OT, but these costumes came in the mail today. My boys are going to wear the Prince costumes to CRT and PSB while DD wears one of her Princess costumes. I'm biased, but I think they are adorable!

I have saved every design I thought I might need or want so far. But as I get ready to have a pow-wow with my DDs I discover I don't have one of them and have gone through all the links on the Design thread.

I am looking for the Food and Wine Festival design that had the plate "morphing" into (or out of ) a 3-D Mickey head. Does that even make sense to anyone!?! :confused3 It is mostly cream colored, I think.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I LOVE THIS DESIGN, BUT IT'S NOT MY "BURFDAY". WONDERING IF YOU COULD MAKE IT A LITTLE MORE GENERIC LIKE "YOO HOO, I'M GOIN' TO THE HOOP DE DOO" (OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES). THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I need help. I am trying to work on a scrapping swap and I need a picture of Nemo, about one inch. I need to be able to import it to word and then print it onto cardstock. I scanned one from a book, but I can't get rid of the background (rest of the page).

Can any of you brilliant DISer's make me a little nemo?

Julia and nick's mom and oh bother, I can't remember the name but you have the white rings around your tye dyes. They are amazing. :worship: :worship:

I still haven't met a design on this thread I didn't like. So talented. I have no talent. :rotfl:

Saturday is the day. I'm going to print all of my transfers on the Avery for dark shirts. (since none of our shirts are white)

Then we are going to iron a couple, just to see how they look. Then we are going to take the transfers to a professional and have them do our shirts. That's the plan.

Two weeks! We only have two weeks to go. Now it's time to pack! Get the itineraries together. And tinker1bell is still looking for more shirts!!! Oh bother!!

Has anyone Had a design printed by cafepress?

Its more expensive $13.99 for a white t-shirt(they have tons of colors/styles), Thats with your design on it though, You can have a design front and back.. +$4 shipping.. pretty sure you can add more shirts for that $4 though.

Can also do Buttons/Coffee mugs/bumper stickers... a whole TON of stuff.

They have been around for awhile though.. and i think they maybe more pro looking? and maybe less of a plastic feel..

But one REALLY cool thing is that you can add your pic and see what it will look like on a shirt!
So even if your going to print out your own you can see what it will look like!

Only thing.. you have to have a bigger pic you can upload so it shows big enough on the shirt.
A simple resize and upload works though.

Check it out! http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/product.aspx?clear=true&no=2

And if anyone has/or does order from them let us know..

1. Quality of shirts?
2. Quality of the print job.. is it better then the iron on tranfers?

But anyway... its a really cool site for seeing what it will look like on a shirt.
Play around!

Even if you don't order.. its still cool to see what the designs look like on the stuff..lol

Is there an easy way to add the DDA logo that you created? (It's 2:30 am on a Friday, and maybe I just need to go to bed and try this tomorrow, when it will become obvious.) Or do I need to recreate it using the glittery instructions?

Thanks!

you can use it one of two ways:

you can right click on it and do save as and then upload it into wherever you host your pictures or

you can right click on it get the properties and post it into your signature (please only do this option if you do not have a regular hosting location since it would take up my bandwith to have it in your signature - the account has plenty of bandwith and shouldn't be a problem but if we ALL started using my bandwith - I could run out of room)

I printed up some really cute designs a few weeks ago and made the iron on transfers for our shirts. I bought the transfer paper at Michaels, followed the directions to a "t" and they came out perfect. Today (well, yesterday by now) I decided to go ahead and wash them since they were sort of stiff, and the transfer paper stuff just started to fall apart. I didn't even dry them...got them out of the washer after I had turned them inside out and wanted to see how they fared. The color was the immediate thing I noticed...really faded, then I saw where the paper had fallen off. Morgans was the worst. :confused3 Oh well, I went back to Micheals and got some more shirts and will try again. Anyone else have this problem? I went to Wally World and got some Avery Paper to do some more shirts with...hope it works better. I paid 18 bucks for 10 sheets of that paper at Micheals and it may have well been made of sugar for as well as it held up in the wash :rotfl:

Shriva
09-10-2005, 04:57 AM
Make sure you Pre-Wash the shirts before you iron on the transfers.

Throw them in the washer with some soap.
Then dry them.

DO NOT use fabric softner or dryer sheets, as that can make the transfers not stick as well.

And you do want to pre wash..to get rid of sizing and any stain resist the factory may have added.

Let them sit for at least 24hrs after the iron on also to cure.

Good luck on the next batch!

09-10-2005, 06:06 AM
Thanks...I did not wash the first batch first but I have since washed all the new shirts I've bought before doing the transfer. I hope these do well as I absolutely LOVE all the designs that people have done for me here. I'm ending up with 5 sets of shirts for our 8 day trip. I'm a woman obsessed :rotfl:

If you go to www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=907595&page=1&pp=15

and follow iluvcountry's directions(you don't have to have the site make it for you) or iluvcountry will make it for you. She made mine.

I did it, too!

RE: Sparkly names! Guess what I just figured out for all my DDA friends. If you go to Photoshop and make a TRANSPARENT .GIF file with your name (using whatever font you want), you can then save it and skip straight to step 2 for making a sparkly name. You don't have to go to that site to make your name/font. That way, you can use any font you have on your computer or download a new one!

And thanks for all the compliments about my kiddos. They are so ready to go to WDW. I want it to hurry up and then have time stop once we're there!

I did go there and tried to follow the directions. I picked out the font then when i went to Imagemagick studio and tried to do that step it keeps telling me Your filename contains prohibited characters:
I pm'd iluvcountry hopefully she will be able to help me.

It looka likw iluvcountry sorted this out for you - but I have a suspicion you put an apostrophe in your file name - which might be the prohibitive character...

Anyway, just wanted to thank you all for brightening naptime for me for the last 3 months. :goodvibes

Hi everyone............I have 2 questions about different things, so here goes...........
1. When making the tie dye shirts.............does it matter what kind of thread you use to sew the mickey head? I can not find wax thread. I have found glace' finish thread and nylon thread, but not wax, so if anyone knows where I can get the wax thread or if the kind I have will work.......thanks

2. With the transfers, have those who've tried, find that the dark tshirt transfers are better even for white shirts? I don't want them to crack. I used a regular one for a white shirt and then washed it and it cracked. Granted it was an older shirt and it was a practice, but I want these great designs to last more than one wearing.

Thanks for your help, DDA's. :wave2:

You can use any strong thread. I've done lots of these and use what I have on hand that is STRONG. Typically, I use my cross-stitch floss, DMC floss. I use all 6 strands together so it's nice and strong when you go to pull all the gathers...

Good luck!

Remember back about a thousand pages ago (OK ... not quite), someone had posted what was basically an invitation to Cinderella's Royal Table? (there were a couple different ones actually)

I would love to have something like that for another character breakfast. My DH and the boys will be going to 'Ohana Character Breakfast. I believe thay has Mickey, Chip & Dale.

Anyone mind taking a shot at creating an invite for me?

we are a quiet bunch today!!!

two new ones for the tiki fans

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b148/DisneyTShirts/tiki.jpg

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b148/DisneyTShirts/tiki2.jpg

We are big "original" Tiki Room fans, so I love these!! Do you mind replacing Goofy with Daisy Duck on the second design?

We are going to need to lengthen our visit to Disneyland in November so I can make all the shirts I want us to wear!

Thanks!

I have been with this thread since page 1. I haven't contributed alot in the T-shirt design area, but I feel like I know everyone on here personally. I posted this on the MNSSHP Costume thread, but if you aren't going to MNSSHP you wouldn't see it so I thought I'd show off my halloween costume designs here.
Ok, I admit it I am a Halloween junkie. I love to create Halloween costumes. Last weekend we went to our favorite campground for a Halloween Themed weekend. They have camper to camper trick or treating and a dance complete with costume contests for adults and children. They have prizes for the top 3 adults and the top 3 kids. My costumes won 4 out of 6 prizes this year. I thought that I would share them.

This is my dh, his costume won 1st prize for adults. I got the idea online and changed it to use items that I already had. The costume is 8 ft tall and his head is on the platter. He is standing up. When asked what he was he replied "dinner"
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/my3princes/webchris2.jpg

This is another adult costume that I made, a friend came up with it a few years ago and my mother is wearing it. It is called short man. This costume did not win.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/my3princes/webNancyShortMan.jpg

For the kids costumes:

1st place was my niece. We got this idea although we changed it a lot, off family fun's web site. She is a flower planter.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/my3princes/26bda953.jpg
2nd place was my middle son Hunter. He was a Zombie/Goul in a wooden casket. We had the casket from a mummy costume that we made a couple of years ago. The Zombie/Goul we combined ideas from different costumes that we have seen and added some flashing green sunglasses to the mask and a blacklight in the coffin made him glow.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/my3princes/web2zombiegoul.jpg

3rd prize went to my youngest son Colby. He was a bee hive. I made this costume when my oldest son was Colby's age. I must say that is is completely original and I have never seen another bee hive anywhere.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/my3princes/webBeeHive1.jpg

My oldest son Nick didn't win a prize, but I love the costume. It was his idea. I had suggested a warewolf (used some ideas from the big bad wolf costume on family fun) but he wanted to be a disco warewolf. I found the clothes at the salvation army and added the peace sign necklace. I hot glued a glow stick on it to make it stand out and we added a spikey flashing bracelet. This costume fits his personality so well and he had a great time wearing it.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/my3princes/69970b60.jpg

I went as a basket of dirty laundry, but I don't have any pictures to share yet, My dsil took a couple, but she didn't use a digital camera.

I hope you all enjoy the costumes as much as we do.

NO PROBLEM...... Let's see, you can use one design on a tot bag, another on a swim suit cover up, another on a back pack.... there's always the front AND back of a shirt......PILLOW CASES.... pillowcases are always good for these designs, don't forget the lace to make them frilly and sweet... Does she use a bib when she eats? That could be a possibility..... IF you shrink the designs and make them really small, you could use them on white anklet socks for her, or white tennies- which ever you prefer.Shrink them even smaller (and longer) and you could iron them on some fabric and make cute little heads bands for heror better yet.... how about some bandanas??? Have you made those new jammies for the trip yet? What about the robe to match?

Can anyone else help Julia's mom come up with anymore ideas???

Boy, I better get busy! I've designed but haven't actually MADE anything! :rotfl:

I sort of HAVE to do some of it now, as I have a 10 day Caribbean cruise coming up October 26 - November 5, so I won't be able to do any of it then. The Disney trip is just a little over four weeks after we get back from the cruise! Also, I work full time as a "legal slave" (legal assistant) so I have to do it in bits and pieces on weekends and evenings. Of course, I'm not nearly as busy as someone who works and has triplets!! Or someone who has young kids, period! Mine are both grown, and my youngest grandchild is 16!! (I was a child bride).

Not if she's like my Brantley-Kate and changes clothes 10 times a day anyway! Just wear the t-shirt under the costume, then take off costume, have extra t-shirt in bag, change again in afternoon... VOILA!!! :rotfl2:

J&N's Mom -- Does Julia have a Build-a-Bear pal or an American Girl doll? You could shrink some of the designs and make t-shirts for them. Plus, there is the door design like Brendita made.

Also, thanks for adding Daisy to the Tiki Room shirt!

That's funny that you laid out your t-shirt itinerary, because I did the same thing today! I was plotting out the Thanksgiving Disneyland shirts I requested from you and some others I plan to print out for our DCL cruise and MVMCP in December. I'm counting the plane ride as a t-shirt day (we always fly the night before, then wake up ready to dash off to Disney) just so I can get all our favorite designs in.

Lastly, I can't get the blasted glitter thingy directions to work to make my DIS name all sparkly. Would you mind terribly making me a Mickey Head in blue that says Moonbeams? Just like you have yours with the Walt writing and the Mickey in Mickey head. Whenever you can get to it is fine!

If anyone wants to make another sparkley signature I would love one. I have an idea, but I don't have the software to do it. I would like a Mickey Head (light Blue) in the large circle I would like my screen name my3princes, but I would like my curving at the top of the circle, princes curving around the bottom of the circle and 3 in the center. Is that possible? I can draw it on paper, but can't make it on my computer and I have no idea how to make it sparkle anyway. If anyone wants to do it I would appreciate it. Thanks

I would love to be able to create something like that, as well as all of these tshirt designs, but I just don't have the time or the know-how. So I hang out here, watch all you creative geniuses and use your work. my3princes - I love your halloween costumes, especially the head on platter, flower pot and beehive. I would love to be able to create something like that, as well as all of these tshirt designs, but I just don't have the time or the know-how. So I hang out here, watch all you creative geniuses and use your work. Sorry I can't contribute anything more than the "wow I love that" or "oooo...that's great" :guilty: I am a "behind the scenes DDA". I don't design, but I love to look at, read, and chat with you all!

By the way, I am VERY envious.....
I'm in the same boat with you Tammi67. I sit and read the screens at work...refreshing the screen about every hour....and click and save future designs. My Magical Gathering isn't until December 2006!!! I have alot of time to wait so this is considered research. We will have 24 family members going from ages 9 months to 58 yrs old. My mom is the oldest and Jan 1st is her birthday so we are going to be sure all the CM's know about it. I can't wait!!! My family thinks I am crazy but my SIL is just as crazy about it as me. Thanks again to everyone for sharing your creative minds.

I printed out pages of Disney Word searches, word scrambles, and mazes. Then I printed out Lilo and Stitch coloring pages (Stitch is DD's favorite character). And then some pages with trivia questions about all the parks. I put the pages in one of those little report sleeves (clear plastic cover and a triangular "tubes" that slides down the side). I wanted to make a simple customized cover to make it extra special.

I think she'll get a kick out of this.

Happy B-day Erich!! :bday: :cake: Great theme for a party! Have fun Baloo.

Well...I got a call a few minutes ago and ISAAC'S COMING HOME TODAY!!!!!! We are so happy and excited. :bounce: :cool1: :Pinkbounc

The past couple days have not been good for them. Isaac has been doing WONDERFUL, everything medically is perfect! The last few days, depending on the nurse or doctor they spoke to, Isaac wasn't eating enough. He has actually been eating very well. They were feeding him every 3 hours but then switched to when he woke up which was about every 3 1/2 hours. He was doing good that way. Then the nest day my bro and sil went in and a different nurse had switched him back. The one nurse actually forced Isaac to finish the whole bottle and made him throw it all up. So when the doctor read that report that he had thrown up, he wouldn't let them take him home. He already has his own peds doctor and they said Isaac should have been able to go home this past Sat. It's tough since neither my bro or sil have the greatest insurance and they have both been off work. My sil is a teacher so she gets paid for only 30 days missed work, after that, no pay. My brother gets no paid days off.

Anyhow, sorry for rambling on this thread. I'm just glad Isaac finally gets to come home!!!

Thanks
Deb

Not sure if this is what you meant?

I couldn't work out how to bend the bottom text so that you could still read it without standing on your head though!

I used the wrap gallery in photoimpact and chose bend 3 - is there a way to reverse it Kate?

I made one so I could explain how I did it :rotfl: not always so good on explaining

when you choose the text path - right click on it - choose modify properties and apply - then you can choose how much bend you want in it - if you put a negatice number in - it will bend like the princes does in this design

Julia picked out 15 designs!! Do you think that will be a problem for our 10 day trip - along with her 5 princess costumes?

How about putting a few designs on panties for her? Or is that too weird. The thought just popped in my head a few minutes ago.

my3princes - Great costumes! Your DH's was too funny. :teeth:

Actually, I was just working in the NICU today and thought of both you and triplefigs...... amazing admiration to you moms, aunts, dads, etc with NICU babies. Thanks! The doctors and nurses who care for those babies are absolutely angels on earth. I worked Post Partum before quit while pregnant. Everything I knew as a RN flew out the window when it was my own three in there for 12, 12, and 14 weeks. Now they're 5, going to K next year, and I'm so proud of them!

I posted this the other morning ... but don't know if it got lost in the shuffle ......

Remember back about a thousand pages ago (OK ... not quite), someone had posted what was basically an invitation to Cinderella's Royal Table? (there were a couple different ones actually) I saved that one for our CRT breakfast but, I would love to have something similar for another character breakfast. My DH and the boys will be going to 'Ohana Character Breakfast. I believe that has Mickey, Chip & Dale.

Anyone mind taking a shot at creating an invite for me?

Thank you!

Lisa
